My friend Irene who sends me lots of interesting stuff to read has been bugging me the last couple of days to make a post about this particular bit of news. A number of online media outlets and blogs are talking about the Egyptian Foreign Minister giving an interview on an Egyptian TV channel called the NileTV and divulging that Obama has told him in "confidence" that he is a muslim and that “he will show the muslim world how to deal with Israel” after he deals with some pressing domestic issues. Try as I might, I could not find a clip of the TV interview and I was hoping one of the more "with it" bloggers would find proof of the interview. As at this moment in time, this news is going around the net like wildfire, but without the actual proof of the NileTV interview.
Personally, I think that Obama says whatever he thinks the person he is talking to will like coming from his mouth. The man is a class A1 actor, that I am sure we all agree on. Even if he said the things attributed to him by the Egyptian, he probably said them knowing they will please the visitor. You decide.
My concern is with point 5 of this. This point is something I would believe readily. This brings to mind the saying: “Where there's smoke, there's fire.” You decide.
