Americans Protest the building of a mosque at Ground Zero

Is this loud enough for you muslims?  Can you understand the hurt coming from the people you have harmed  or are you begging for another kind of response?   Let's see if the "lame” media reports on this mega event in New York  and let's keep a count of how many seconds or minutes they give this event and if it comes anywhere within 0.01% of the airtime they are giving to reporting on  the flotilla of terrorists.

Urban Infidel has posted lots of pics and vids at her blog the one below is just one of several.

More pics and coverage from Pamela Geller, one of the main organizers of the event.

  1. Muslims may claim that the building of this mosque so close to ground zero is a symbol of brotherhood and reconciliation. What it is, is a Muslim victory monument like the Arc de Triomphe or Hadrian's column.

  2. Absolutely Powell. It is Islamic triumphalism meant to be rubbed in the faces of the vanquished.

    Not bloody likely.

  3. There was some msm coverage. Here's CNN take on it:
"CNN iReporter Julio Ortiz-Teissonniere, who attended the rally and sent photos to CNN, said the number was closer to 200-300 while he was there for the first 45 minutes of the event."

As you can see they sent one of the big guns to cover the event. Although he couldn't be bothered to stay more than 45 minutes.

  4. I don't think Islam itself is the enemy of America. I do question the motivation of this group of Muslims opening construction for a mosque on September 11th though. I saw someone on Reddit.com say its like them hoisting a victory flag. True or not? You can't really know, but the timing and location does seem to suggest it may not be that far off. And I do think what people have done under the same flag is relevant. With a group of people, you could not know anything about them without assuming some things by using their history as a group. I am not saying you can throw all Muslims into the terrorist category because of a few terrorists, but it is relevant that some of them are do fall into that category. Even with all of this put into account, they do have the right to build there because this is America, but it does not make it right.

  5. Hi Maria

When I first heard about this so-called "mega-mosque at ground zero", my initial reaction was also "yeeeouch, no way". But then I learned the facts: 1. It's not at ground zero, but 2 blocks away, and 2. it's not even a mosque (let alone "mega"), but an interfaith community center that's being built by some muslims (interfaith community centers are a dirty job, but someone has to do it).

Unless you believe that the whole of lower manhattan should be off-limits to community centers that include (but aren't limited to) muslims, protesting this thing doesn't make a lot of sense... I mean, if 2 blocks away is considered to still be 'ground zero', then where's the line? 4 blocks? 6? 20? 200?

There might be a point to all this outrage if the building really was a mosque, and it really was located at ground zero. This, however, is just a tad hysterical, IMO.
