If we let them, the so-called Conservative govts will readily and willingly morph into raving lunatics....

even bigger lunatics than the lefties.  The article below has garnered more than 2000 comments.

James Delingpole writing at TheTelegraphUK:
Hitler was a socialist.  It's an indisputable fact. The word Nazi is a contraction of "National Socialist"; the red in the background of the Nazi flag is a reference to its origins in communism; and as Hitler himself said in a speech of May 1, 1927:
"We are Socialists, we are enemies of the capitalistic economic system for exploitation of the economically weak…"
It's what Hayek argued in The Road To Serfdom. It's what Jonah Goldberg demonstrated very convincingly in Liberal Fascism. Yes, it may be upsetting for socialists to be told this – in the same way that it's upsetting for them to be told that socialism doesn't work. But the truth hurts, sometimes. And since when, in any case, did it become an offence for a conservative to rub a socialist up the wrong way?
Since this week, apparently.

Poor Dr Rachel Frosh. Earlier this week, this blameless woman – an NHS doctor for 20 years – was bullied into resigning her job as Deputy Police Crime Commissioner of Hertfordshire, merely for the "crime" of having retweeted a comment on Twitter to the effect that Hitler was a Socialist.

Now, to pile on the injustice, the Conservative party has suspended her from its list of parliamentary candidates for the next election.

If this is the Conservative party's attitude to free speech, if it really values truth so little and the prejudices and tactical grievance-taking of its enemies on the left so highly, you have to ask: why on earth would any natural Conservative wish to vote for such a bunch of cowardly, politically correct, cringeingly career-safe, spineless, unprincipled sell-outs?............
