America: No country for White Men ?

How extremely stupid is this! A new coin is advertised by the US Mint and it is supposed to be representing diversity of the USA. There are 3 male faces and 1 female. The female is white. The males have black, native and chinese features. The absence of a white male is glaringly obvious.

Description: The design is emblematic of the principle To Form a More Perfect Union, the first of six principles of American democracy found in the Preamble to the United States Constitution. It features four faces representing the diversity of our Nation with the clothing and hair weaving together to form a more perfect union.

  1. It MIGHT be a very gay looking white man. I'm not sure.

  2. I'm pretty sure they are all gay.

I strongly disapprove of this gay coin.

  3. Actually, there are two female faces and two male faces. (Three if you count Lady Liberty.)

Almost every OTHER coin the mint has ever created has a white guy on it (except the First Ladies series); what exactly is your complaint?

  4. There are no chinese, black or indian women on it either. When will they get the representation they deserve! I would have thought you'd be able to 'fill in the blanks' that the view and face of America for the better part of the country's life has been a White Male. It is incredibly insecure and foolish to think that anyone would (well, you did) assume that this is aming to take the white male down a peg rather than lift others up to the same deserved prominence.

Very, so why did you write it?

  6. Look again. That is a woman of Asian ancestry.

  7. The figure at the bottom looks like a white guy, and the figure at the top looks like an Asian woman.

What do you think the figure at the bottom looks like?

  8. ok...ok...ok... I made a mistake. To my eyes the three top faces looked male, but as Donald said above, the top face is an Asian female and the bottom face is a white female. So I guess the artist showed two males and two females to represent 4 races.

  9. I think the one on the bottom is a white man with a mullet. Besides which, our coins have the bloody Queens head on them. Canada: No country for Canadians?

  10. Here's the problem, you make a harsh judgment on a first impression, and put it out there for the rest of the conservative blogosphere to echo until the end of time, with no basis in fact. Why don't you put some of your Christian values to use for a change?

  11. And where are our Hispanic and Polynesian brothers and sisters? What a scandal, especially considering they each have their own goll-durned state!!!! I'm also insulted that there are no persons with disabilities, no elderly and especially no young children! Saints preserve us! Will somebody think of the children?!

  12. If it's okay for male faces to stand in for all black people and all native people, why is it not okay for female faces to stand in for all white people and all Asian peole? (the Asian face looks female to me - long hair)
