Tales of horror from Malian women

The Mali story will continue and continue and continue and continue.  Take my word for it.  The islamists are well-trained by  you know who.  Yesterday's friends are  today's enemies  and vice versa in this topsy-turvy world of ours.  Didn't we hear a few days ago that the delusional French think they will be out of Mali within a few weeks ?   HAHAHAHAHAHAH !!

David Blair writing at TheTelegraphUK:
The harsh reality inflicted on the people of Timbuktu   by al-Qaeda and its allies is betrayed by the ordeal of Azahara Abdou Maiga.
Five of the Islamists placed a gun to the 20-year-old's head, ordered her to keep silent or be killed, and then raped her one by one.
"I did not cry out," said Miss Maiga. "I just cried inside of me."....
..... Miss Maiga committed two offences in Islamist eyes: she sometimes failed to cover her face when venturing out. Most heinously of all, she carried pictures of Western pop stars, notably Celine Dion, on her mobile phone.....
.....Salaka Gikai, 25, was accused of consorting with a married man and sentenced to receive 100 lashes. The judge of the Sharia court decided to show clemency by reducing the total to 95.
Miss Gikai was then forced to squat in the dust in the middle of the market while 10 men took turns to flog her with a stick. "Everybody was there: women, children, every kind of people," said Miss Gikai. "I had blood everywhere.".......

From Bloomberg News via TheNationalEgypt:
Rebels who had conquered northern Mali offered to pay the equivalent of $14 for a 13-year-old girl. When her family said no, they took her anyway.
A week later, she died in captivity, after she was repeatedly raped by a group of armed men.
That incident in April is one of hundreds of documented cases compiled by the United Nations in the past year that shed light on the sexual violence unleashed by insurgents - mostly Tuareg separatists rather than Al Qaeda-linked Islamists - during their occupation of a sparsely populated and inhospitable region in Mali......

And, if you thought the French were already  victorious and the islamists were thoroughly beaten and running away with their tails between their butt cracks ... think again.

David Lewis writing at Reuters:
Islamist insurgents launched a surprise raid  in the heart of the Malian town of Gao on Sunday, battling French and local troops in a blow to efforts to secure Mali's recaptured north.
Local residents hid in their homes or crouched behind walls as the crackle of gunfire from running street battles resounded through the sandy streets and mud-brick houses of the ancient Niger River town, retaken from Islamist rebels last month by a French-led offensive.
French helicopters clattered overhead and fired on al Qaeda-allied rebels armed with AK-47s and rocket-propelled grenades who had infiltrated the central market area and holed up in a police station, Malian and French officers said.
The fighting inside Gao was certain to raise fears that pockets of determined Islamists who have escaped the lightning four-week-old French intervention in Mali will strike back with guerrilla attacks and suicide bombings......
