Iraq news .... June 27

ISIS has started a Twitter hashtag #CalamityWillBefallUS and has sent out a notification to all their murderers and sympathizers of murderers and beheaders, requesting that they use the hashtag to threaten and intimidate Americans.  I like visiting the hashtag and belittling the scum found there.

From ABCNews:
...Syrian War Planes Strike ISIS Targets in Iraq, US Says
Military aircraft that conducted air strikes against ISIS military targets in western Iraq are believed to have been from Syria’s air force, a U.S. official told ABC News........

From Breitbart:
....ISIS launches English-Language multimedia  project 'Al-Hayat'
The jihadist terror group Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) has excelled compared to similar groups in its use of online social media to attract younger, Western minds to its apocalyptic philosophy and culture of death. It is now ramping up this initiative with a multimedia project targeting Westerners called 'Al-Hayat Media.'
While Al-Hayat was officially launched in April, the media offensive has ramped up in recent weeks as ISIS has gained ground in Iraq and threatens to surround its capital, Baghdad. According to MEMRI, the media offensive began with the launching of a now-infamous English language video titled "There is No Life Without Jihad," in which Western jihadists explain why they chose to leave their home countries and fight for ISIS..........

From UN:

More than 1,000 people were killed in Iraq, and another 1,000 injured in the two weeks since the group known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL/ISIS) and its allies began to sweep across the country, the United Nations today confirmed, stressing that those figures should be viewed “very much as a minimum.”

According to the human rights team at the UN Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI), at least 757 civilians were killed and 599 injured in Nineveh and Salah al-Din provinces, north of Baghdad, and Diyala, in the east, between 5 and 22 June.
“This figure – which should be viewed very much as a minimum – includes a number of verified summary executions and extra-judicial killings of civilians, police, and soldiers who were hors combat,” Rupert Colville, spokesperson for the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), told journalists in Geneva..........

From Breitbart:
...The Islamic State of Syria and Sham  (ISIS) and their Sunni tribal allies reached the strategic Mahmudiyah district southwest of Baghdad in large numbers on June 26th.
Kurdish officials said that militants had seized the towns of Iskandariyah and Mahmudiyah. The depleted Iraqi Army 17th Division is still fighting in the area, but it lacks air support and armored vehicles. Since Mahmudiyah district controls the key supply routes linking Baghdad with the Shiite majority in the south, more Iraqi Army units will have to be pulled back from fighting in the north.
According to reports by Stratfor Global Intelligence, unnamed Iraqi defense officials admit that seven divisions, half of the Iraqi army prior to the fall of Mosul, have been defeated or given up the fight. Large numbers of mostly Shiite Muslims have volunteered, but they lack training and experience.......
