How many people actually remember which countries the 9/11 killers originated from? To find out what your friends and relatives know about the ethnicity and origins of the 9/11 perpetrators, ask them that question. You will be surprised with their answer. Chances are many people will say they were Iraqis or Afghans or Pakistanis or Indians. Try it if you don't believe me.
The reason for this misinformation is thanks to the powerful public relations firms hired by Saudi Arabia in the aftermath of 9/11. That and their all out effort to hold controlling interest in information houses like AP, FoxNews, Reuters, etc. has underplayed the role that Saudi citizens played in the 9/11 attack.
When I read the news item about a 30-something Christian woman in New York pushing a Hindu man off the platform and under a train I knew that this was not only a hate crime but a misinformation "crime". For the misinformation "crime" who should be held responsible if not the MSM for the woman being so misinformed about Hindus as to state that:
"I pushed a Muslim off the train tracks because I hate Hindus and Muslims ever since 2001 when they put down the twin towers I've been beating them up."
Below is a list of the names and ethnicity of the 9/11 killers to refresh everybody's memories and here is the 9/11 Commission Report ... it is almost 600 pages long. It focuses more on Bin Ladin and does not place even an iota of blame on the teachings of Islam. It's like the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia itself had initiated the 9/11 Commission Report and not the USA... and in my opinion the House of Saud had a mighty influence on the commission viz their friendship with the Bush family. The word "Koran" is mentioned only twice in the entire report .... that should tell you volumes.

While I agree that many Americans have--at best--a sketchy grasp of geopolitics (or even basic geography) and comparative religion, I am not sure that Erika Menendez, who pushed the hapless Sunando Sen to his death under a subway train, bolsters that proposition. She had a long history of insanity. See, for example, this post by Ann Althouse on her blog:

Ms. Menendez, I believe, should have been institutionalized in a suitable mental hospital (and probably would have been, in more sensible times, . . . but I digress). I don't think her cognitive faculties were working well enough to serve as a pertinent example of American religio-cultural ignorance. Still, as I said at the beginning of my comment, I agree with your general proposition.
Thanks for the link. The thought that the woman was unstable did cross my mind when I read the news item but the first couple of days after the incident the MSM did not mention anything about her mental state ... whereas, when a few weeks ago, a Vietnamese man was killed in a similar incident ... the press was quick to report from the very beginning that the killer was insane. Not only that, in the case of the woman, her full name was given ... whereas in the earlier incident the killer's name was shielded. The name was a Muslim one.
