288) ....The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section has charged a 75-year-old Ottawa man with sexual offences, including sexual assault and sexual interference.
The incident involved a child in the 2000 block of Jasmine Crescent in Ottawa’s east end, who complained to her mother that she had been inappropriately touched.
The Ottawa Police Service received a 911 activation call from the parent on Saturday, December 8, 2012 during the noon hour. Police responded and an arrest was made at the location.
Aden Omar BARREH, age 75, of Ottawa appeared in court this morning and has been detained for a bail hearing to be scheduled this week. The investigation is ongoing....
289) ....The Ottawa Police Service charged two men in relation to a violent swarming that occurred earlier this week.
On December 4 2012, at approximately 11:50 pm, a lone woman, in her 20’s, was accosted by two males in an underground tunnel near the Nicholas St. transit station and the Ottawa University Campus. The woman was restrained several minutes and assaulted as the suspects searched her for items.
Two passersby intervened and held one of the suspects, who was arrested at the scene. The second suspect was arrested nearby immediately thereafter. The victim sustained minor injuries stemming from the assault.
Hamdi ABDI AHMED and Ridwan RACHID, both 19 of Ottawa, are charged with: Robbery; Forcible confinement ;Intimidation ;Uttering threats;Breach of undertaking.
Hamdi Abdi Ahmed is charged with an additional count of assault. Both suspects appear in court on December 6, 2012.
290) Mississauga – The accused, in the death of a 62 year old gas station attendant last spring in Mississauga, has failed to appear for his court date.
On Thursday, May 19, 2011, at 4:55 p.m., the victim was working at a gas station near Truscott Drive and Southdown Road. At this time, the operator of a gold coloured vehicle was seen to stop shortly before attending the gas station and cover up his license plates. He then attended the station, pumped some gas and attempted to flee without paying.
The victim tried to confront the driver about the theft, but was struck by the vehicle as it left the scene. He later succumbed to his injuries. An extensive investigation led police to arrest 22 year old Abdullahi MOHAMOUD on October 16, 2011.
The accused was held for a Bail Hearing. During the course of his release he was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant from Alberta. He was returned to Edmonton to face these charges.
On August 6, 2012, the accused failed to appear at the Brampton Court of Justice to answer to the charges involving the 62 year old victim. A Bench Warrant was immediately issued. His last known whereabouts is Edmonton, Alberta.
On November 28, 2012 the Crown Attorney for Brampton authorized a Canada Wide warrant for the arrest of Abdullahi MOHAMOUD.
291) Charges have now been laid after yesterday’s hostage incident in downtown Vancouver.
Shortly before 11:30 a.m. on November 28th, a man with a knife entered the 7-11 at Drake and Granville Streets and allegedly held an employee against her will.
Thirty-seven year old Koyes Ahmad has been charged with unlawful confinement, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.
As the matter is now before the courts, there is no further information for release at this time.
Ahmad remains in custody until his next appearance in Provincial Court on November 30th.
292) A man was shot dead after allegedly breaking into a Mississauga home with two other men who remain at large.
Peel Regional Police were called to a home on Corkstone Glade shortly after midnight Friday after a 911 call about a home invasion.
The homeowner, Mike Vrga, had found three intruders, two armed, in his house, his two young children and wife at home.
A short time later, one of the alleged intruders was dead.
Police said Vrga had struggled with one of the armed men. Ibrahim Abukar, 22, of Toronto, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Peel homicide detectives are continuing to investigate how Abukar was shot dead.
“Detectives are trying to piece together the sequence of events,” said Const. Thomas Ruttan.
Ruttan said the two other suspects, described as male, black and wearing dark clothing, remain on the run.
293) 55 Division’s Crime Prevention Team in its latest installment of “Wanted Wednesday” is looking for Faisal Alqahtani, 20.
It is alleged that:− he, along with others, set a restaurant on fire to claim a newly−gained Business Insurance policy.
He is wanted for: 1) Arson− Disregard Human Life 2) Arson− Damage to Property 3) Arson− For Fraudulent Purpose 4) Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence

294) The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to an arrest of three men in connection with a sex trade investigation. It is alleged that:
− a 17−year−old girl met a man who encouraged her to become a prostitute
− he introduced her to two men for that purpose
− the two men she was introduced to, prostituted her for several days
− the girl made the decision not to prostitute and contacted police
On Tuesday, November 27, 2012, an 18−year−old man, of Toronto was arrested and charged with:
1) Procuring a person to become a prostitute 2) Living on avails of a prostitution 3) Exercise control
The 18−year−old man was a young offender when the alleged crime occurred.
The name of the Young Offender cannot be released under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
On Wednesday, November 28, 2012, Danial Aziz, 27, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1) Procuring a person to become a prostitute2) Living on avails of a prostitution3) Exercise control
On Thursday November 29, 2012, Sherif Beshay, 27, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1) Procuring a person to become a prostitute,2) Living on avails of a prostitution 3) Exercise control
295) On Thursday, November 22, 2012, the Toronto Strategic Partnership, with the assistance of the Peel Regional Police Service, charged a man in connection with an investigation into a modeling/acting agency.
It is alleged that:
− the suspect operated two businesses called Goldstein Modeling and Acting and Casting
Toronto, in Mississauga, seeking potential models/actors
− the suspect is also know as Saroor Hassan Zaidi, Mike Hertz, Mike Hertzberg, Uzi Goldstein
and Uzi Xaidi
− the victims attended the suspect’s business for auditions and paid up−front fees for
promised roles in television shows and movies
− the victims have not received their promised roles
− to date, investigators have interviewed 15 victims who have reported a total loss of
$43,364.50
Saroor Hassan Zaidi, 36, of Mississauga, has been charged with:
1) two counts of Fraud Over $5,000 2) 13 counts of Fraud Under $5,000
Police believe there may be more victims.
