The Dark Side was victorious in Ukraine — where a man going by the name of “Star Wars” villain Emperor Palpatine claimed a seat on Odessa’s city council.

Palpatine Dmitry, 25, won 54.4 percent of the votes in Sunday’s mayoral election in Odessa, according to a mayoral candidate’s Facebook Post.

“A cartoon comrade of Darth Vader – Palpatine – received 54.4 percent of votes in Poselok Kotovskogo [one of Odessa’s neighborhoods]. Palpatin Dmitry, born in 1990, who works as an emperor at ‘LLC Palpatine Finance Group’ makes it to the city council on the Trust Affairs party list,” a bemused Aleksandry Borovik wrote.

“This is beyond my understanding,” the pol added. “People, what’s wrong with you?”

In the “Star Wars” saga, Emperor Palpatine is known as Darth Vader’s mentor and is infamous for destroying the Jedi order........

here's my prediction before the close tonight.

Trudeau wins with a majority. 

Harper loses because we don't want a party pandering to Israel and taking orders from Israel  and USA on Ukraine, Syria, Iran or any other country anywhere else in the world. We don't want a govt. bending to the will of Ukrainian Canadians, whether they be Jewish or otherwise. We don't want a govt. bending to the will of anybody in the blatant fashion that Harper and his Cons have been doing. We don't want our govt involving itself in the affairs of another country ... whether with support (like in the case of Ukraine and Israel) and war-like (like in the case of Russia, Iran and Syria).  We don't want Canada involved in any war ... PERIOD.
We don't want a govt whose leader encouraged the  butcher of Gaza to go forth and do genocide.
Goodbye Harper, goodbye Cons.  This party is over for now and for at least another decade.

NDP's downfall to the level it has slipped was to do with Mulcair's statement on the niqab.  This incident will go down in Canadian history because it shows how the communists lost their footing all thanks to an illiterate immigrant from Pakistan and how our equally illiterate Supreme Court let her stance on the niqab stand as a religious right. This should teach the far left that on some issues, especially to do with Islam, it is not a good thing to pander to islamists hoping for their votes.  Heck, most of them don't even go to the polls....but try telling that to the lefty nuts.

If my prediction is wrong, I will give up blogging on political issues.

The total pandering by all three main leaders vying for control of Canada ....

is truly vomit-inducing.

For the first time since my eligibility to vote in Canadian elections,  I won't be going to the voting booths for this election.  If there was an independent running in my riding, then I would have been able to throw in at least a protest vote.  But no such luck.

Harper turned out to be a total disappointment and I have gone off the Cons like so many others who used to be in the Cons camp.
 
Harper and his Cons are constantly on their knees slurping away for the pro-Israel, Jewish and Ukrainian vote and the Conservative party of Canada under Harper has become a warmongering party. They played a large part in the coup in the Ukraine which has since seen thousands of ethnic Russian civilians,including kids and the elderly in eastern Ukraine, killed by missiles dropped on their houses for no other reason then that the Ukrainians don't like Russian speaking citizens.  They have been giving logistic support to the "opposition" to Assad, the same "opposition" that later morphed into ISIS, and that support from the Conservative govt of Canada has been an ongoing project  from way back 2012.  Why did the Harper conservatives venture into the Syrian and Ukrainian traps?  The answer is crystal clear.  It is the Israeli influence they are under ... nothing else, nothing less.
They didn't then and don't now, put Canada first, just like the Canadian Bibi-bots who support them.  These dual-passport holders care more for the welfare of  Israel than bother to have any concern for what they have let happen to EU and hence in a few short months to North America (think refugees from the MidEast wars ... if you want me to make it any more clear).

As for the NDP and Lib leaders, they are both airheads and  very much ignorant about even the basic Islamic norms and Muslim culture.  Both leaders are under the impression that the niqab is a religious garb and as such Muslim women if they so desire to, they can wear those fucking masks.  Canada in the hands of either one of these two is going to be a haven for  illiterate Muslims just like the kind these two are now pandering to. Even the Supreme Court of Canada is illiterate about Islam.  

Intelligent and progressive Muslims know that niqab should be banned in Canada, but those kind of  Muslims are in their minority. 

Hopefully, some of us will learn to live with the incoming Muslim hordes or keep our silence.  There's nothing much any of us can do now to prevent the sequence of events unfolding.

I am off on a vacation very soon.  Will be back just in time to watch the election fiasco.  No matter which party wins the election, we are all losers.

Ugh!  Who the fuck are the bastards and bitches sitting in power in Canada's Supreme Court?  Whoever they are, they will now be partly responsible for having brought up the subject of the niqab and given the Cons a chance to show that they speak logic on this topic unlike the other parties and the Supremes.   I would have thought that the Supreme Court would research a little further and come to the realization that the face covering  has NOTHING TO DO WITH RELIGION but was a mode of dress which was a necessity in the sand dunes of most of  Arabia and parts of Africa and the reason for the face cover was because the regions had constant dust storms which affected everybody venturing outside their homes.  Even the men there, at one time, covered their faces because of the elements. And, even to this day, when the desert conditions turn nasty, the men cover their faces to shield their eyes from the flying sand.  NOTHING TO DO WITH RELIGION.

The latest polls are sure to show the Cons at the top again ... thanks to the three doddering, brainless Supremes. 
This misstep by the Supremes is going to ensure that the progressive Muslims who were probably averse to Harper because of his constant kneeling and bowing to Israel and taking Canada into Syria, will now re-think their stance .... because believe you me ...  they have not left their own countries to come here and be confronted with the same medeival, illiterate cavemen thinking they thought they had escaped from.

Niqab ruling   to be appealed to Supreme Court, Tories say
Conservatives vow to reintroduce niqab ruling within 100 days of re-election

Conservatives doubled down on their position that women should not wear face coverings during citizenship ceremonies, saying the government would take the matter to the Supreme Court, while vowing to reintroduce the niqab ban within 100 days of re-election.

On Tuesday, the Federal Court  of Appeal dismissed the government's appeal of an earlier Federal Court ruling that declared the ban on face coverings at such ceremonies was unlawful.
The decision stemmed from the case of Zunera Ishaq, a 29-year-old woman with devout Muslim beliefs who came to Ontario from Pakistan in 2008. She refused to take part in a citizenship ceremony because she would have to show her face under a ban introduced in 2011.
The three-judge panel ruled from the bench, saying they wanted to proceed quickly so that Ishaq could obtain her citizenship in time to vote in the Oct. 19 federal election.........
One of Ishaq's lawyers, Marlys Edwardh, said the Immigration Department would be contacted this week so she could attend a citizenship ceremony — accompanied by her lawyers "just in case."​ ..........

‘Most efficient option’:  Canada paid $1.6 million to ship $5 million worth of military goods to Ukraine
The Canadian government spent $1.6 million to ship $5 million worth of surplus tents, sleeping bags and other military goods last August to Ukraine, according to figures obtained by the Ottawa Citizen.

The equipment, sent by Canadian Forces aircraft, included sleeping bags the military estimates are worth $437 each and four-man tents worth $420.

Helmets, and ballistic eyewear, as well as medical supplies, were also transported.

The shipment proved to be a public relations bonanza for the Conservative government which is courting the Ukrainian-Canadian vote in the upcoming federal election.

The Canadian Forces paid for much of the transport price tag out of its budget. The figure was in addition to the regular cost of personnel and equipment. Some of the transport cost was also covered by the Foreign Affairs budget.

“To expedite delivery of these items, the Government of Canada concluded that using its military aircraft was the most efficient option,” Foreign Affairs spokesman François Lasalle stated in an email about the August 2014 shipments. “Canada is committed to standing with the people of Ukraine in the face of Putin’s military aggression,” he added.

In November the Canadian government spent another $485,000 to ship some surplus coats, pants, boots and gloves to Ukraine by military aircraft.....

  British SAS Special Forces “Dressed Up as ISIS Rebels”  Fighting Assad in Syria

On August 2, Britain’s Sunday Express newspaper headlined “SAS dress as ISIS fighters in undercover war on jihadis,” saying:

“More than 120 members belonging to the elite regiment are currently in the war-torn country” covertly “dressed in black and flying ISIS flags,” engaged in what’s called Operation Shader – attacking Syrian targets on the pretext of combatting ISIS.

Maybe covert US special forces and CIA elements are involved the same way. During Obama’s war on Libya, Britain deployed hundreds of Special Forces Support Group (SFSG) paratroopers – drawn from SAS (Special Air Service) and SBS (Special Boat Service) personnel.

Around 800 Royal Marines and 4,000 US counterparts were on standby to intervene on short notice if ordered.

The latest revelation comes two weeks after learning Prime Minister David Cameron last year approved British warplanes joining US ones in bombing Syria despite parliamentary rejection in August 2013.

At least part of its current covert ground operation is under US command – so-called “smash” units traveling in pickup trucks able to launch mini-UAVs to scan terrain for targets to attack.

Over 250 UK (and perhaps US) specialists are involved to provide communications support, the Sunday Express explained.

British Defense Secretary Michael Fallon said “(o)ur actions and surveillance capabilities are freeing up other countries to strike in Syria.”

UK SAS forces are in Saudi Arabia training anti-Assad terrorists along with US operatives doing the same thing – including in Turkey, Jordan, Qatar and perhaps Israel.

US and UK claims about training so-called “moderate” rebels reflect smoke-screen cover for working directly with ISIS terrorists – trained, armed and funded abroad, funneled cross-border into Syria to fight Assad, now with US/UK and Canadian air support along with covert commandos on the ground.

The Express cited former British Army General David Richards saying “tanks will roll” as part of UK operations in Syria.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu   on Wednesday called off a proposed plan to segregate Palestinians from Israelis on West Bank buses, overruling his own defence minister following a flurry of criticism in an attempt to avert the first crisis of his new government.

An official in the prime minister's office said Netanyahu called Defence Minister Moshe Yaalon to tell him he found his proposal "unacceptable" and the two then decided to freeze the plan.

Yaalon had launched the three-month pilot program following repeated complaints from Jewish settlers who ride the buses and say the Palestinian workers constitute a security threat and harass female Jewish riders.

Thousands of Palestinians enter Israel for work each day from the West Bank and often return home in buses alongside Jewish settlers. The Palestinian labourers all have security clearance and special permits, but the proposed change would have forced them to return home through the same checkpoint they entered and prevented them from riding West Bank buses alongside Israelis.

Critics derided the plan as racist and said it would harm Israel's image, which has already been under pressure because of its continued settlement activity in the West Bank. Israel captured the West Bank from Jordan in the 1967 war and Palestinians want it as part of their future state.........

U-turn? Netanyahu   suspends Israeli bus ban for Palestinians within hours
sraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has suspended a ban on Palestinians from the West Bank taking Israeli bus routes to return home, just hours after the plan was approved by his defense minister.



The new regulations restricted Palestinian commuters to using the same crossings for entering and leaving Israel.

“Under a three-month pilot project, Palestinians who work in Israel will, starting Wednesday, need to return home by the same crossings without taking buses used by [Israeli] residents” of the occupied West Bank, an Israeli Defense Ministry official told AFP earlier Wednesday.

Thousands of Palestinians take the bus to go to work in Israel from the occupied West Bank. For the time being, Palestinians could enter Israeli territory through one check point and return via another one.

The new suspended plan includes just four checkpoints – at Eliyahu, Eyal, Hala and Rayhan – separated one from another by considerable distances. The new pending regulations imply that all Palestinian workers should return to their homes every day for security reasons and now cannot stay in Israel for the night. ..........

Nicholson lies about "moral clarity" when heart of hearts he knows just like everybody else, that going into the Middle East conflicts have nothing to do with morality concerns but everything to do with geopolitical changes and most of those reasons are to do with USA and Israel.

Extending Canada’s military mission in Iraq is a matter of “moral clarity” that all political parties should support, Foreign Affairs Minister Rob Nicholson says. In a carefully crafted speech to foreign diplomats on Thursday, Mr. Nicholson‎ set out the Conservative government’s case for boosting Canada’s role in the U.S.-led coalition. He argued that Islamic State extremists present a danger to the region and a direct threat to Canada and its allies that could grow quickly if it’s left unchecked.

Mr. Nicholson’s comments lay the groundwork for the government’s proposal to the House of Commons next week, when Prime Minister Stephen Harper will ask MPs to support a plan to expand and extend the current six-month mission. The pre-emptive speech, aimed at about 50 foreign diplomats and delivered before a group of journalists, sought to place pressure on federal opposition parties, who have questioned the scope of Canada’s involvement.

It was the latest salvo in an extended campaign that saw federal ministers hint repeatedly at plans to renew the military commitment. Mr. Harper said Wednesday that he would seek approval for the extension, a revelation that came in the middle of a break week on Parliament Hill, at a time when many MPs had returned to their ridings........

What happens when a peacekeeping country like Canada has a warmonger take over her reins?

What happens is, we lose the lovely blanket of neutrality we used to have.  Moreover, when the leader of our country can stand by the despicable butcher of Gaza in the slaughtering of  innocent children and their parents ..... it is truly a vomit-inducing moment. The butcher and his party term such almost yearly destruction of life and property as "mowing the lawn"  and to see Canada's entire government, including the Libs AND the NDP standing by Israel in a genocide of the innocent is beyond the pale. Sadly, Canada has lost its moral standing in the world and nothing can ever bring it back.

From Afghanistan to Iraq, the perils of overconfidence Canada was way too ambitious when it came to Afghanistan, and we paid a price for it

The first time I visited one of the Canada's big aid projects in Afghanistan I was assured I would see plenty of local gratitude as students at a school we supported were expected to give us a warm welcome.

Well, warm it was — a shower of rocks and ridicule from the boys at the all grades school in Kandahar.

Actually, I would have found the whole scene quite funny had it not been for the obvious embarrassment and rage of the soldiers escorting us as we ducked the incoming rocks, all caught on camera.

This was hardly what our soldiers had come to this war-ravaged country to fight for, and I had the real feeling Canada's much vaunted development mission in Afghanistan wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

As Ottawa gets set to expand our military mission against ISIS in Iraq — likely with the promise of some aid development to follow — it's probably worth considering such past interventions, particularly given the audit just out on how our Afghan aid really fared.

The internal government audit of what has been the largest aid program in Canadian history concluded the $2.2 billion we spent yielded very mixed results, many of them disappointing in the extreme..........

Canadians prepare yourselves to have Syrian spies and pimps living next door to you as new immigrants ....

While Canada remains quiet on reports that a spy allegedly working for its intelligence service helped smuggle three British girls into Syria via Turkey to join ISIS, Turkey's A Haber TV broadcast footage of the man with the girls as he arranged their trip

A video has been released by Turkish A Haber news channel showing the suspected spy working for the Canadian intelligence agency helping British girls join ISIS.

More details emerged on Friday about the Syrian national who arranged for the three British girls to cross into Syria through the Turkish border to join the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS). A Haber's report based on Turkish security sources revealed connections between the spy, British recruits of ISIS and likely the Canadian intelligence service. The Turkish government initially refused to identify the person's nationality but Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu announced on Friday that the person was "a Syrian national." Çavuşoğlu was the first to break the news on Thursday when he said in a televised interview that a person was caught in connection with smuggling Shamima Begum, 15, Amira Abase, 15, and Kadiza Sultana, 16, the three British girls who left their London homes in early February, into Syria...........

..........A Haber reported that the 28-year-old man was a dentist who fled the conflict in Syria into Jordan. He sought asylum in another country before the Canadian Embassy became interested in his asylum case. He then traveled to Canada by approval of the embassy and stayed there for a while before returning to Jordan. A Haber correspondents claimed he contacted a Canadian embassy official in Jordan called "Matt" and quoted Turkish police sources that Matt was likely an employee of a British intelligence service. Kubilay Gülbek, a senior correspondent for A Haber, said Rashed only acted as a smuggler and was paid by the intelligence service. Gülbek said that based on information discovered on Rashed's laptop computer, he helped 140 Britons travel to Syria to join ISIS apart from the three girls. Rashed allegedly handed recruits to an ISIS commander who is a British citizen. Quoting his sources, Gülbek said the three British girls were currently in Raqqa and were "brides" for ISIS militants.

He told A Haber that Rashed relayed information about people he smuggled into Syria to "Matt" from the Canadian Embassy via WhatsApp. Gülbek said the current addresses of ISIS militants in Britain who left the armed faction and maps of ISIS camps in Syria were also found in possession of al-Rashed..........

3 killed in suicide attack   on NATO vehicles in Kabul
Three people were killed and another wounded after a suicide car bombing targeted NATO-led forces' vehicles in Afghan capital of Kabul on Thursday, sources said.
The casualties included one Turkish service member of the NATO- led Resolute Support (RS) forces, an Afghan civilian and the attacker, the Afghan government confirmed, adding one Turkish soldier sustained injuries in the attack.
The attack occurred in the morning, after the bomber rammed his car bomb into a two-vehicle convoy of RS forces near the Iranian embassy in Wazir Akbar Khan, a diplomatic district in central Kabul.
Unofficial sources said the likely target of the attack was the vehicle of NATO Senior Civilian Representative in Afghanistan Ismail Aramaz, a Turkish diplomat, who escaped the blast.....

Lugansk official: Aidar military detained as they take weapons from Donbass to Kiev
KIEV, March 1. /TASS/. Some military of Ukraine’s Aidar territorial battalion, which participates actively in the punitive mission in Donbass, are involeved in criminal activities, including extortion and arms trafficking, head of the Lugansk regional administration Gennady Moskal said on Sunday.
"A part of that battalion has deserted from Aidar, begun illegal activities of looting, robbery, racketeering, theft of vehicles and other crimes in the towns and villages controlled by the Ukrainian military," the official’s website reads.
He also said about an attempt of taking from the zone of the force mission in Donbass to Kiev of an arsenal, which, he said, was supposed to be used in Kiev "to destabilise the situation" there.
"Several days earlier, the Lugansk regional police stopped a criminal group, led by Aidar military called Filat. The criminals were fighting for an hour against the police and used automated guns."
As the police detained the military and searched the places where they lived, they confiscated over 6,000 bullets, five boxes with grenades, 15 mines, two boxes with with TNT blocks, twelve grenade launchers and several Kalashnikovs............

U.N. Warns Arms Bound for Libya Pose Terror Risk
Report says foreign governments’ transfers to warring factions could wind up with Islamist radicals
Foreign governments that send fresh military supplies to Libya’s warring factions risk increasing arms flows to regional terror groups, a United Nations report warned.

“Current transfers to Libya are probably contributing to further onward proliferation of materiel,” the report released this weekend said. Such proliferation presents “a significant security challenge for other countries in the region, particularly from a terrorism perspective,” it added.

Libya Dawn, a coalition of Islamist militias that has taken over Tripoli and much of the rest of western Libya, has been fighting troops commanded by secular general Khalifa Haftar. Those troops have the support of an internationally recognized government based in the east.

Both sides are jockeying for the country’s vast oil reserves—Africa’s largest—while trying to present themselves to the West and regional governments as opponents of Libya’s Islamic State franchise...........

The Italian Navy is resuming exercises in the Mediterranean Sea, including near the coast of Libya, amid concerns about rapidly deteriorating security in the North African nation.
The exercise will begin on Monday. It includes anti-submarine, anti-aircraft and anti-ship training operations.
The exercise was suspended for a year because of the heavy deployment of Italian Coast Guard, Navy and other Italian vessels during intensive rescue and surveillance operations to combat migrant smuggling from Libyan shores. That mission was stopped when a European Union maritime operation recently started anti-smuggling patrols.....

UAE denies reports of arms supply to Ukraine.   The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has denied reports suggesting the Gulf state will supply arms to Ukrainian forces as part of a defence deal.

Though the two sides have signed a contract, it does not cover weapons supply, a UAE official said.
"An agreement on cooperation in defence technologies the UAE and Ukraine signed recently does not stipulate any contracts for deliveries of weaponry to the Ukrainian side," Faraj Faris al-Mazrouei, a senior aide to UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan, told local news outlet Emarat al-Yawm.

With the West reluctant to supply weapons to Ukraine, officials had earlier said they would purchase arms from elsewhere to bolster the country's defensive capabilities.....

Syria: Nineteen Assyrians released  but hundreds remain captive
Nineteen Assyrians that were captured from the Syrian village of Tel Goran, have been released by Islamic State, also known as ISIS, and have arrived safely at St. Mary's Church in Hasaka, Syria.

According to the Assyrian International News Agency, negotiations for their release had been ongoing for three days and were mediated by local Arab tribal leaders.
Of the 19 that were released, 17 were women and 2 were men, said a spokesperson for AINA. “But not all who were captured from Tel Goran were released. One of the hostages, an elderly woman, said that ISIS did not release her son and two other men who were guarding the village.
“ISIS also refused to release a six-year-old girl. According to reports from the released hostages, Islamic State (ISIS) said it plans to use the girl as a bargaining chip. The girl's mother was released but would not leave her daughter behind and stayed with her.”

The spokesman told the ASSIST News Service, “The hostages looked tired and disheveled but were otherwise unharmed.”
According to AINA, the number of Assyrians captured by Islamic State is between 262 and 373. With the release of this group of 19, the number still being held by this terror group remains in the hundreds. ...........

 Yemen’s Shiite Muslim Houthi group is boosting ties with Iran shortly after Sunni Gulf Arab monarchies moved their embassies to a southern port city to back the government of President Abdurabuh Mansour Hadi.

An Iranian flight carrying medical supplies arrived in Sana’a, the capital controlled by the Houthi movement, on Sunday, a day after the two countries signed an aviation agreement, al-Masirah television reported. Canadian military intelligence officers predicted in 2011 that Libya could descend into a lengthy civil war if foreign countries provided assistance to rebels opposing the country’s dictator Moammar Gadhafi, according to documents obtained by the Citizen.

The warning, made just days before several countries, including Canada, began their March 2011 bombing campaign against Gadhafi’s regime, has unfolded as predicted.

Libya has descended into chaos as rival tribes and militias continue to battle each other for control of the country.
Last week, Libyan Foreign Minister Mohamed Dayri warned that warring factions were pushing his country into a full-scale civil war. Italy has also raised concerns that Islamic extremists who now occupy parts of the country pose a threat to the region and Europe.

The Canadian government and military played key roles in overthrowing Gadhafi and highlighted those efforts as a significant victory both for Libya and Canadians.

At the time, then-foreign affairs minister John Baird reinforced Canada’s support for the rebel groups fighting Gadhafi, pointing out they had a well-developed plan that would transform the country into a democracy. “The one thing we can say categorically is that they couldn’t be any worse than Col. Edward Snowden Warns Canadians To Be 'Extraordinarily Cautious' Over Anti-Terror Bill

NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden addressed students at a Toronto private school via video link on Monday to warn about the perils of being complacent as the government makes sweeping changes to Canada’s anti-terrorism laws.

“I would say we should always be extraordinarily cautious when we see governments trying to set up a new secret police within their own countries,” Snowden said in a livestream feed from Russia. He made reference to Bill C-51, legislation tabled by the Conservative government days earlier.

More than 900 students attended the talk titled, “Privacy vs. Security: A Discussion of Personal Privacy in the Digital Age” hosted at Upper Canada College. Nearly 1,400 watched the live broadcast online.

Snowden urged the audience to be adept at lining up facts versus rhetoric with emergency legislations born from times of “fear and panic.” He added though Canada is not unique in its anti-terrorism laws and surveillance programs, it’s important to be critical toward political arguments championing their necessity.

“Once we let these power get rolling it’s very difficult to stop that pull through,” Snowden said. “So I would say that we need to use extraordinary scrutiny in every society, in every country, in every state to make sure that the laws we live under are the ones we truly want and truly need.”

Journalist Glenn Greenwald was also on hand for the keynote via conference call.

Despite the sharp uptick in terrorism rhetoric after two Canadian soldiers were killed within days of each other last year by “radicalized” attackers, the former Guardian journalist says a Canadian’s real-world chance of being killed in a terrorist attack is “infinitesimal.”

Venezuela officials say ex-general, 13 others in coup plot

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Venezuelan officials on Friday cheered the thwarting of what they said was a planned coup that involved a plot to blow up the presidential palace.

President Nicolas Maduro announced Thursday night that a retired air force general had been arrested and 13 other people were implicated in a plot to overthrow the South American country's 15 year-old socialist revolution.

"We have foiled a coup attempt against democracy and the stability of our homeland," Maduro said, speaking on the anniversary of the start of street protests that wracked the nation last year.



Venezuela's government has frequently alleged coup plots, often without providing much evidence or follow up.

Congress president Diosdado Cabello said in a television broadcast that 11 soldiers were among those implicated, including a retired general, and that several had been arrested. He also named two opposition politicians and a businessman as plotters and charged that the U.S had tried to buy the loyalty of air force officers.

Cabello showed photos of weapons and other items that he said had been seized from those implicated. In addition to the palace, the plotters planned to bomb the Defense Ministry and the headquarters of the government-sponsored news channel Telesur, officials charged.....

Several UK MPs standing down from Parliament

In a just and fair world, many of the UK warmongers who allowed the USA's rabid wardogs to waltz them into the illegal war on Iraq would have had to face justice at The Hague.  Handing in their resignations is an easy way out for these criminals.

If Stephen Harper had been the Prime Minister at that time, instead of  Jean Chrétien,  he and his gang would have now been in the same shoes as these UK MPs.... because just as we know for a fact that the Sun rises in the East and sets in the West,  Harper would have committed Canada in the Iraqi fiasco which has given the world what we see today in that region. 

As for the turmoil going on right now, I have a strong feeling that the events unfolding in the Ukraine plus the fact that Harper arrogantly stood behind despicable warlord Netanyahu in the butchering of Palestinians in Gaza, is going to spell  a harrowing defeat for Canada's Conservative party come the next election. 

Furthermore, regardless of the excuses given for his resignation, John Baird, Minister of Foreign Affairs,  is lying through his teeth, through every one of them. At first I thought that maybe he had found his ideal mate and was getting married to a husband but then I thought ... nah ... it's because he has an inkling of  the consequences down the road  .... consequences for the butchery of Gazan children and the coup in the Ukraine, both in which he played a major role alongwith his beady eyed boss.

Today's world believes in diplomacy and not butchery. Politicians are supposed to be diplomats not warmongers and supporters of butchers.
