The Happiness Realization Party of Japan says .....
they might withdraw their plan to field candidates in all 300 single-seat and 11 proportional-representation constituencies in the Aug. 30 general election.
Why? Why? Why? I was hoping this party would achieve a strong showing or get an outright win. I hope they change their minds.
The party is just a few months old and is a political wing of the Buddhist-based religion Happy Science. The Japanese leftosphere likes to call them a "cult" and "fear mongerers" which translates to "we must do everything we can to vilify them."
Their religious beliefs are somewhat akin to a mix of Buddhism and Hinduism. They believe in reincarnation, multitude of gods and goddesses and channelling the spirits of people long dead and gone. The Japanese Left are ridiculing their religion and calling them crazies. The only religion the Left never criticizes is of course, Islam; yeah - what else is new.
The party's founder/president is Ryuho Okawa. His wife Kyouko Okawa is the party leader.
HRP's platform:
Changes to constitution for a pre-emptive strike on North Korea if need be
Eliminate inheritance taxes
Encourage each family to have at least 3 children
Allow immigration so population increases to 300 M in 40 yrs
Small govt with low taxes
Have residences for office workers in same building so more time devoted to family life
Manifesto of The Happiness Realization Party
