Update on the fate of Bill C-268

MP Joy Smith clarifies that Bill C-268 progress will have virtually no impact in light of the prorogation. She informs that Private Members' Bills since 2003 have been carried over between sessions of Parliament and as Bill C-268 was passed in the House of Commons the next step will be at the Second Reading in the Senate on March 3, 2010.

Unfortunately, because of the delay tactics that Senator Anne Cools decided to play to full hilt, the Bill did not pass before the Olympics as was desired by many of us actively working to rid Canada of sexual crimes and enslavement of children and the vulnerable.

Now, to ensure that this Bill passes the Senate without further delays, please take the time to send an email to the Senate to suppot Bill C-268. Please also send a separate email to Senator Don Plett who is working on a campaign within the Senate to support the Bill.
