Canada is now considered to be a nation of immigrants, most of whom are here hoping to never see nor be involved in wars. If Trudeau thinks he's endearing himself to this new and growing immigrant community which is, without a doubt, the largest voting block for any and all political parties, by his continued involvement of Canada in American's illegal wars around the world, BOY-oh-BOY does he have a surprise coming next election!!!
Question for lying Trudeau: How can a Canadian sniper kill an enemy on the battleground and you still insist Canada is not involved in a combat role? Big-time Idiot PM. He is Harper II.
Liberals face renewed criticism over claim that special forces operations in Iraq are 'advise and assist' Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the record-breaking shot by a Canadian special forces sniper is something that should be "celebrated."
It is also well within the realm of the military's advise and assist role in Iraq, he said.
During a marathon news conference Tuesday marking the end of the parliamentary sitting, Trudeau rejected recent criticism by NDP Leader Tom Mulcair, who said the incident draws into question the Liberal government's claim that Canada is involved in a "non-combat" mission against ISIS.
"What happened there is something to be celebrated for the excellence of the Canadian Forces, and their training and the performance of their duties," the prime minister said Tuesday......
Even true blue Conservatives who have voted for the party throughout their lives are now coming out and openly showing their displeasure with Stephen Harper's government. When veterans who are known to vote Conservative, say "Anybody but Conservative" .... you know the party is in deep, deep trouble. Trouble of their own making. As far as I am concerned, there are far too many sins that the Conservative party can never be forgiven for: Harper openly siding with warlord criminal Netanyahu in the mass murder of Palestinians in Gaza; Harper government's involvement in the Ukraine's murderous coup and its full ongoing commitment to the Mafia-like regime that took over that country and started bombarding civilian areas of the separatist east Ukraine; (at one point it got so disgusting with prominent members of Harper's government showing their support by changing their Twitter pics to Ukraine's symbol which looks like the devil's trident.) Harper government's disregard for veterans after Canada has sent them to wars from which most come back without limbs and a big part of their sanity and health damaged forever; Harper government's continuous import of immigrants and refugees from Muslim conflict areas; Harper government's loud and malicious instigation for sanctions against Russia which sanctions are now crippling the economy of a large part of the world .... the list can go on and on and on and on.
Janice Dickson writing at iPolitics: Angry veterans launch ‘Anybody But Conservative’ campaign to defeat Tories in upcoming election “We need a government that will look after us veterans,” said Ron Clarke, a 36-year-veteran, in an emotional plea. For Clarke and veterans advocate Mike Blais, the federal election can’t come soon enough. Clarke, an advocate from Cape Breton, launched his Anybody But Conservative campaign Wednesday in hopes of a government that will treat its veterans better. In a Parliament Hill news conference, Clarke also made a plea to serving members of the military to join the protest. Clarke and Blais are urging the government—or possibly future government—to re-open the nine veterans offices that the Conservative government closed across Canada, and to grant veterans a pension, rather than a minimal lump sum of $350,000. This campaign could hit Conservatives where it hurts the most. Seniors have historically voted Conservative — poll Conservative and in fact show up to vote. So when a prominent, and elderly, Nova Scotia veteran announces he will be encouraging all veterans and Canadian citizens to vote, “anything but Conservative”— it draws attention. “Into the thousands,” Clarke said, unable to pinpoint an exact number of supporters. But if his message resonates among his age group—the number could stretch into the millions. In 2011, five million Canadians were over 65 and that number is predicted to grow, according to Statistics Canada.......
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH! We had 158 soldiers die in Afghanistan. Canadian casualties in that hellhole were the third highest, after USA and UK. Why did all these young men and women die so far away from home? For what? So Canadian politicians can boast about how Canada stands with the USA in all that country's foolhardy wars? Is Canada always supposed to follow the leader (USA) even if that leader has turned rogue? What kind of madness is this? AND, please, PLEASE don't tell me that Canadians do this because Canadians care about the poor Muslims in those far away lands. You know that's not true .... so stop lying.
From Khaama: Afghanistan issues arrest warrant over blasphemous article The Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the Ministry of Information and Culture were instructed to take immediate actions for the arrest of The Afghanistan Express newspaper staff. The decision was taken on Tuesday during the Council of Ministers meeting chaired by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abdullah Abdullah. A statement released by the Council of Ministers said the staff of The Afghanistan Express newspaper were charged with blasphemy for publishing an article which desecrated the religion of Islam. The statement further added that the government of Afghanistan will take strict actions against those involved behind the publish of blasphemous article. This comes a number of the religious leaders, civil society activists and former Jihadi leaders strongly condemned the newspaper for desecrating the religion of Islam by publishing the article......
From The Guardian: Afghan opium poppy cultivation hits all-time high Farmers grew 209,000 hectares of opium poppy despite US spending $7.6bn on counter-narcotics efforts since 2001 Opium poppy cultivation in Afghanistan has hit an all-time high despite years of counter-narcotics efforts that have cost the US $7.6bn (£4.7bn), according to a US government watchdog. The UN Office on Drugs and Crime reported that Afghan farmers grew an “unprecedented” 209,000 hectares (523,000 acres) of opium poppy in 2013, surpassing the previous high of 193,000 hectares in 2007, said John Sopko, the special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction. “In past years, surges in opium poppy cultivation have been met by a coordinated response from the US government and coalition partners, which has led to a temporary decline in levels of opium production,” Sopko said in a letter to the secretary of state, John Kerry, the defence secretary, Chuck Hagel, and other top US officials. “The recent record-high level of poppy cultivation calls into question the long-term effectiveness and sustainability of those prior efforts,” he said on Tuesday.........
Why do I have this sinking feeling that this kind of one-man jihadi action will be seen again and again? Thank you dear Government for importing religion-crazed Muslims and letting them and their way of life radicalize Christian Canadians to convert to satanic rites; Thank you dear Government for not stopping imams from visiting prisons even though you know fully well they go to those dens for the sole purpose of converting the feeble-minded to their depraved creed; Thank you dear Government for not introducing a law making it illegal for Muslim prayers in the streets of Canada; Thank you dear Government for not introducing a law making it illegal to wear full burqas in our streets; etc.etc.etc. Keep pampering Muslims, dear Government .... it's sure to work in getting many more non-Muslim Canadians killed. The more non-Muslims killed, the quicker Canada can be caliphated, right dear Government? That must be your goal, eh dear Government .... otherwise why would you not impose laws to keep non-Muslims safe?
From CBC: Soldier struck by Martin Rouleau in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., hit and run dies Martin Rouleau's Facebook page shows increasingly radicalized beliefs, behaviour One of two soldiers wounded in a hit and run involving a "radicalized" 25-year-old man in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., has died, provincial police say. Martin Rouleau, the 25-year-old suspect, was fatally shot on Monday after hitting two soldiers in a parking lot in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, a city about 40 kilometres southeast of Montreal. The family of the soldier who died asked that his name not be released. The ISIS/ISIL/IS/xyz barbarians are NOT at our gates. Some minor, mini ones might be amongst us already but we can flush them out. The most important thing to do is change our immigration policies and either severely curtail or stop Muslim immigration altogether. All refugees from the conflict ridden lands should be diverted to Saudi Arabia and Turkey. UN should be told in no uncertain terms that Canada is closed for refugee business. We don't want Canada involved in this mess in the Middle East. I hope Trudeau sticks to what he says and opposes any combat involvement in the mess. Everybody knows that this is a "deliberate" war brought on to oil the machinery of the billionaire stakeholders of companies whose lifeline is wars and nothing but wars.
From CTVNews: Canada's role in Iraq does not have to be a combat mission: Trudeau Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau agrees that Canada must play a role in the struggle against militants in Iraq, but says that doesn't necessarily mean combat. Trudeau says Prime Minister Stephen Harper seems intent on sending Canadians to war, but has yet to explain why. He's telling the Canada2020 conference that ISIL does pose a threat to regional and global security. The question, he says, is what Canada should do about it. Trudeau suggests there are options other than sending in CF-18 fighter-bombers to conduct airstrikes alongside allies. He says Canada should be looking at offering strategic airlift, training, medical support or humanitarian efforts.
This is a good thing. This is a great thing. This is for the right reason. I hope there are no rules of engagement that bogged down soldiers in Afghanistan from doing a soldier's job. Boko Haram should be killed to the very last man, no prisoners, none.
Matt Gurney writing at NationalPost: .....For the last five years, Boko Haram’s fighters have ridden high, dealing the Nigerian security forces a series of embarrassing defeats. Their winning streak may have come to an end. While the Western world did little more than tsk-tsk when the Islamist separatist group planted bombs and machine-gunned civilians, the recent attack on a girls’ school may have been an outrage too many. With an estimated 300 school girls, aged 15-18, now held as sex slaves — “wives,” in Boko Haram’s warped description — the world has finally noticed what this wretched group of 21st century pirates have been up to. Rallies have been held, politicians and public figures throughout the West are posing for photos holding signs reading, “Bring back our girls.” And more tellingly, a quiet buildup of Western military might is now taking place — including, it is now being reported, Canadian forces. In a report for CTV News, national affairs reporter Mercedes Stephenson says that Canadian forces are not just preparing to deploy, but some are there already. This followed a recent announcement by Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird that “there are Canadians who have arrived on the ground in Nigeria who are working with the United States and the United Kingdom to work on the freedom of these young girls.” There are reportedly more Canadian troops on the way, as well, including special forces personnel tasked with a “security” mission that may include hostage rescue but does not, notably, include hostage negotiation. The details of the Canadian military operation in the region are scant. Indeed, if you’ve read the above paragraph, you’re pretty much fully dialled in on what........
What did you expect? We send our young men and women to kill other human beings and we expect them to come back with their mental health intact? Are they Muslim jihadists without a conscience that they can see all that gore and mayhem in the killing fields and then return to Canada and continue with life like nothing has happened? Our politicians should be shipped to war fronts before sending out our young.
Jessica Murphy writing at QMI: ....The government's ability to help soldiers with mental illness came under scrutiny for a second day after three Canadian Forces members apparently committed suicide this week. Opposition parties targeted the Conservative government in question period Friday over whether it's doing enough to help struggling current and former soldiers. NDP veterans affairs critic Peter Stoffer said he hopes the investigations into the deaths - launched as part of regular procedure - would be completed soon. It can take up to five years to complete an investigation, although the military says results are often released after a year. "That's far too long. They should be able to work with these families very, very quickly to determine what happened and what can be done to prevent these in the future," Stoffer said. Col. Rakesh Jetly, mental health advisor to the Canadian Forces surgeon general, called the apparent suicides "heartbreaking." Jetly said the military expects the number of soldiers with post-traumatic stress disorder to increase at "a steady state" over the coming few years following the war in Afghanistan. He also encouraged soldiers suffering from PTSD to seek help, but said the military is doing its utmost to offer necessary care and improve treatments. Warrant Officer Michael McNeil was deployed overseas in Bosnia, Kosovo and Afghanistan. He died at the Petawawa, Ont., military base on Nov. 27. Master Cpl. William Elliott, a decorated combat veteran, went to Bosnia and Afghanistan. He died near the Shilo, Man., base on Nov. 25. Master Bombardier Travis Halmrast, who was deployed to Afghanistan, also died on Nov. 25. It's not the first time the military and national defence and veterans affairs departments have been criticized for failing soldiers struggling with combat-related mental illness........
I would never pin a white poppy anywhere on any of my attire. I don't think the people behind the white poppy push are pacifists. They are just selfish, misinformed misfits. Some wars are definitely needed and fully justified.
BBC is reporting that because of the dangerous situation there, not only Austria but Canada, Japan and Croatia have all withdrawn their peacekeeping forces on the Golan Heights. However, I couldn't find a single item about our withdrawal if we ever had a force of Canadian peacekeepers on that border. Guess all the Canadian "journalists" and "reporters" were kept too busy trying to find the non-existent Mayor Rob Ford crack cocaine video. The only thing about Canadian peacekeepers withdrawal I was able to find was this and it's from way back in 2006, long before the Syrian civil war started. Either BBC has done half-baked reporting as usual, OR our Canadian MSM is fast asleep OR we probably had a couple of "observers" on the border who are now back home. I hate it when we are told lies, half-truths or kept in the dark...intentionally or not.
The Syrian army has taken control of a UN-monitored crossing in the Golan Heights that had been overrun by rebel forces, Israeli military sources say. Tanks and armoured vehicles were used in the fighting at Quneitra, near Israeli-held territory. Austria has said it will withdraw its peacekeepers from the Golan Heights because of the fighting.... The involvement of Hezbollah and the upsurge of fighting near the ceasefire line with Israel in the Golan have both raised fears that the conflict could spread across Syria's borders.
Rebels seized the crossing near the town of Quneitra earlier on Thursday, with explosions and heavy shelling rocking the area. But an Israeli military source said Syrian government forces retook the symbolically significant position hours later, and that it was now relatively quiet in the area.. Two UN peacekeepers were wounded as fighting raged around the crossing and Quneitra. Austria said it would withdraw its soldiers because the threat had "reached an unacceptable level". Austrian troops make up more than a third of the more than 900-strong UN force monitoring the demilitarised zone and Quneitra - the only open crossing between Syria and the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights. Israel expressed regret at Austria's decision, and said it hoped it would not lead to "further escalation" in the region. The UN said the withdrawal of Austrian troops would affect the mission's operational capacity and it would look for replacements. Croatia, Canada and Japan had already withdrawn their contingents in the Golan because of the conflict in Syria.........
From TheGuardianUK:
Israel has reacted angrily to Austria's decision to withdraw its peacekeeping forces from the Golan Heights, saying the move has undermined the authority of the United Nations as the Syrian civil war threatens to spill over the border into Israel.
Israeli officials say the withdrawal of Austrian troops from the peacekeeping force monitoring the demilitarised border area following the injury of a Filipino soldier during clashes on Thursday threatened the role of the UN Security Council in any future negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.
In a statement issued late on Thursday afternoon, Austria announced its decision to remove all 380 of its troops from the 1,000-strong force on the Israel-Syrian border due to the "continuing deterioration of the situation in the area"...........

by not letting our tax dollars go to artists who glorify our enemies and demonize our soldiers. This is just like how the majority of the members belonging to both the public and private sector Unions feel guilty when their money is spent on projects and activism that they don't agree to in all good conscience. This collective harvesting of our tax dollars for subsequent showering on the kind of activities that most taxpayers would NEVER ever want even to donate a dime to, is unethical, macabre and very wrong. It has to stop.
Manu Militari, a Montreal rapper, has done just that. It's almost as sick as the snuff movies allegedly made by Luka Magnotta. Of course, Militari didn't actually kill anybody. He just indulged his fantasy of it happening.
Which is about as sick.
But that's the thing about freedom of speech. We have to give it to people we despise if we want it for ourselves......
.....Once upon a time, there might have been a business incubator-type rationale for grants to artists. Equipment was expensive, marketing was expensive, life was hard - as it is for any other entrepreneur.
But those excuses for government intervention don't exist anymore. Anyone with a smartphone now has a high-definition camera. Anyone with a laptop now has studio-quality editing software. Anyone on the Internet can upload videos or sell their own songs on iTunes. Anyone who is promising can raise their own money through PayPal.
Technology has set us free - made it impossible to censor us. It has also made it unnecessary to subsidize us.
Militari doesn't need our $110,000. He probably could raise that much if he put up a PayPal button - it would be a big hit amongst Taliban and al-Qaida web surfers the world over.
And that claim is probably true. If the armchair politicians who use NATO as a cover to satisfy their own lust for blood and mayhem use soldiers as surrogates for the killings abroad, then they should also take the responsibility for the aftermath of such sojourns into places and conflicts they know less to nothing about.
I think the Veteran Affairs department is staffed with idiots otherwise how else can you stomach their stance:
.... But the Veterans Affairs department maintains it's unlikely any Canadian soldiers were contaminated with depleted uranium because few, if any, ever came into contact with it while in service....
How do they know that ? Did they test the soldiers while they were in combat in Bosnia? How many times were the tests carried out? Did they run tests after their return from Bosnia?
If we can spend billions of dollars on wars born out of ignorance (Bosnia and Libya, to name just two) then we should be able to spend a percentage of that money to take care of those who fullfilled the politicians blood lust in foreign countries and came back much less the men and women they used to be.
RIP our brave Canadian soldiers Master Cpl. Pat Audet and Cpl. Martin Joannette
What a horrible time for the families of these two fallen heroes. Does not bear thinking what they are going through. May you have the strength to bear your loss.
