A Canadian blogger in Iranian prison

According to Hamed Derakshan, the brother of 34-yr old Hossein, the blogger who went by the name "Hoder" was arrested in Iran in November 2008 and since then hardly any efforts have been made for his release. The Iranian Embassy spokesperson has point blank told the CBC that "As far as I know , there is no Canadian citizen in prison in Iran."

So how come this blogger disappeared after being arrested by Iranian authorities on Iranian soil holding a Canadian passport? I think our Foreign Affairs dept better look into this issue before this spirals into something like those Somali/Sudanese fiascos.

I really cannot understand why people who "escape" such tyrannical countries to the sanctuary of Canada, keep going back to those cesspools and then the Canadian government has to get itself involved to pull them out of their self-made messy situations.

When will they learn, for pete's sake.
