Well... It's a giant step forward. Having Muslim women in a sport like boxing (whether they are burqa clad or not) is absolutely delightful, added bonus: these young women are Afghanistanis. Now, how's that for progress and democracy. Shame on all those who say that our presence in Afghanistan has come to nought. The very fact that women are training for the Olympics in a country where a few short years ago they were whipped and killed for the flimsiest of reasons, is something to talk about and to celebrate. Great going, women of Afghanistan... and once you throw away the burqas...... you will have truly arrived.
