Father sues government over son's murder

Excellent. This is the way to go. Victims' families should sue any Provincial govt that lets out criminals on laughable jail terms for crimes that should have locked them away for years if not forever. I applaud Andre Livernoche for the suit he has brought against the Quebec Govt. The outcome of this case should be watched closely and the families of other victims should follow suit. If provinces like Ontario, BC and Quebec want to be goody goody to criminals, they should be forced to be goody goody to the victims and their families as well. Go for it Mr.Livernoche.

It's been almost a decade since Andre Livernoche's son was sexually assaulted and murdered by a convicted pedophile who should have not been freed from jail.
After years of waiting, he's getting a chance to demand compensation, in front of a Quebec judge, for the death of his son Alexandre. He was initially offered $17,500 by the government, but Livernoche has scoffed at the amount.
Everyone from high-ranking Quebec politicians to a Quebec Superior Court justice has agreed that his son's killer shouldn't have been allowed out of jail.
