McDonalds vs Organic food

Send this to those snobbish friends (you know you have plenty) who won't step into a McDonalds.

Josh Elliott writing at CTVNews:
Wrap a chicken burger in wax paper and it's fast food, but stick a toothpick in it and you've got yourself some organic, high-class cuisine.
That's the strategy two Dutch pranksters used at a food show in the Netherlands, where they tricked seasoned food critics into believing McDonald's food was actually a new, organic fast food alternative.
In a video posted to YouTube, the two men buy some McDonald's and use a chef's knife to slice up the greasy fast food into bite-sized morsels for a food show. Then, they asked food connoisseurs at the event to compare their "organic" offerings to traditional McDonald's fare.
"It's definitely a lot tastier than McDonald's. You can just tell this is a lot more pure," one girl says in the video, which includes English subtitles.
"Rolls around the tongue nicely," another critic says. "If it were wine, I'd say it's fine."
"It's just a pure organic product, and that makes it very tasty," another man says........

The new and improved Afghanistan

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH!

We had 158 soldiers die in Afghanistan. Canadian casualties in that hellhole were the third highest, after USA and UK. Why did all these young men and women die so far away from home?  For what?  So Canadian politicians can boast about how Canada stands with the USA in all that country's foolhardy wars?  Is Canada always supposed to follow the leader (USA) even if that leader has turned rogue?  What kind of madness is this?  AND, please, PLEASE don't tell me that Canadians do this because Canadians care about the poor Muslims in those far away lands.  You know that's not true .... so stop lying.

From Khaama:
Afghanistan issues arrest warrant over blasphemous article
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the Ministry of Information and Culture were instructed to take immediate actions for the arrest of The Afghanistan Express newspaper staff.
The decision was taken on Tuesday during the Council of Ministers meeting chaired by Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abdullah Abdullah.
A statement released by the Council of Ministers said the staff of The Afghanistan Express newspaper were charged with blasphemy for publishing an article which desecrated the religion of Islam.
The statement further added that the government of Afghanistan will take strict actions against those involved behind the publish of blasphemous article.
This comes a number of the religious leaders, civil society activists and former Jihadi leaders strongly condemned the newspaper for desecrating the religion of Islam by publishing the article......

From The Guardian:
Afghan opium poppy cultivation hits all-time high
Farmers grew 209,000 hectares of opium poppy despite US spending $7.6bn on counter-narcotics efforts since 2001
Opium poppy cultivation in Afghanistan has hit an all-time high despite years of counter-narcotics efforts that have cost the US $7.6bn (£4.7bn), according to a US government watchdog.
The UN Office on Drugs and Crime reported that Afghan farmers grew an “unprecedented” 209,000 hectares (523,000 acres) of opium poppy in 2013, surpassing the previous high of 193,000 hectares in 2007, said John Sopko, the special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction.
“In past years, surges in opium poppy cultivation have been met by a coordinated response from the US government and coalition partners, which has led to a temporary decline in levels of opium production,” Sopko said in a letter to the secretary of state, John Kerry, the defence secretary, Chuck Hagel, and other top US officials.
“The recent record-high level of poppy cultivation calls into question the long-term effectiveness and sustainability of those prior efforts,” he said on Tuesday.........

Trying to understand why we are in a totally useless and disastrous war

The more one learns of the countless sections and the segments within those sections in the lands of the damned Middle East,  the more any sane person should show aversion to supporting any of these groups or getting involved in wars over there. The fact that we choose to support these religious groups and skip merrily into continuous wars in Muslim lands only goes to prove that our politicians and those responsible for our foreign policies are not sane and sober people. We are being ruled by the worst possible lunatics the world has ever known..... especially in Canada, USA, UK, Australia and the EU.  Worst of all, we are letting our mad politicians bring terrorism to our shores by their decisions and actions which are motivated by the puppet masters pulling their strings.

RT's Oksana Boyko talks to Turkish Political Analyst Ceylan Ozbudak on the Kurdish situation and other issues.

How can one tell that a country is going stark raving insane?

Easy...when its judges send people to prison for not mowing their lawns, that's when.
The author below has a long list of other incidences of pure unadulterated madness gone wild in the USA. You gotta see for yourself.

Michael Krieger writing at LibertyBlitzkrieg:
Tennessee Woman Sentenced to Jail for Not Mowing Her Lawn
The trend of average U.S. citizens being incarcerated by overzealous judges and prosecutors within the police state formerly known as America continues with reckless abandon. In fact, these sorts of cases are becoming so commonplace I simply cannot keep up with all of them. The following story is a perfect followup to my piece earlier today, which shows how American public school students are being arrested or harassed by police for the most minor of infractions, such as wearing too much perfume, sharing a classmates’ chicken nuggets, throwing an eraser or chewing gum.

If you are an adult American slave, you can add not mowing your lawn to the list of prison-worthy crimes in the police state.................

From Globe&Mail
It has been a difficult, sad week.  One Canadian soldier murdered by a vehicle turned into a weapon on Monday, another gunned down at the War Memorial in Ottawa on Wednesday, and the armed assailant later killed while roaming the halls of Parliament. We do not yet know to what extent the two incidents are connected. We do not know if they were in any way planned in concert, or to any degree directed from overseas. What appears far more likely is that they are connected only by a thin thread of ideology: a pseudo-religion that dreams of purification through violence, and whose only commandments are death, death and death.
There’s much the public doesn’t yet know about the men who carried out these two attacks. At the time of this writing, sources tell The Globe that the Parliament Hill shooter, identified as Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, intended to travel abroad, but had not been able to secure a valid travel document from federal officials. Monday’s killer, Martin Rouleau-Couture, had his passport taken away because he was believed to be trying to leave the country to join a jihadist group in Syria. In both cases, questions are rightly being asked about why these men, considered sufficiently high-risk to be denied the right to travel, were never charged. There will be questions about whether police and prosecutors made the wrong call, and why, and whether the law could or should have allowed them to do otherwise. ......

Ottawa shooting: Harper’s pro-US agenda has turned Canada into a target and divided society
The impact of the country’s participation in the US-led war against Isis has already been felt
The safest country in the world is no longer a safe place and many Canadians will be asking today whether this is because the Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper pushed Canada into joining the US-led war in the Middle East.......
..........Canada has a large Muslim population – more than 2 per cent are Canadian citizens – but the word “radicalised” only came into use recently when the Harper government revealed it believed that about 30 young Canadians had gone to support Isis........

TIMELINE Ottawa shooting: How events unfolded
First shots fired at 9:52 a.m. at the War Memorial
At the National War Memorial
Members of the Hamilton-based Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada had been the sentries at the National War Memorial in Ottawa this week.

At 9:52 a.m. on Oct. 22, two soldiers were on guard at the National War Memorial in downtown Ottawa when one was shot. Witnesses reported hearing four gunshots.
Raivo Nommick, who was walking by the memorial, said: "All of a sudden I just heard a shot, turned around and there was a guy with a rifle."
More shots rang out and Nommick saw the other soldier come running over and the first soldier drop.
Nommick says he "immediately called 911."
He says the shooter had "a long-barrelled rifle" and "was dressed in civilian clothes with a hoodie and a bandana."
Jan Lugtenborg, a Dutch tourist, was waiting for a tour bus when he heard four shots.
"The guy who shot, he was a small man with long black hair," Lugtenborg said. The shooter "suddenly crossed the street with his long rifle ... running like hell" towards Parliament Hill......................

From NationalPost:
Ottawa’s secrecy fetish only added to confusion and fear of dangerous situation
The practical effects of the cult of secrecy that has enveloped Ottawa were put on display for all Canadians Wednesday during the shootings on Parliament Hill.
While courageous police and front-line security forces did their best to deal with the chaos that reigned across the core of the capital, a cloak of official silence descended that left everyone below the level of Prime Minister in the dark about what was going on.
Members of Parliament were herded into “safe” areas and left for hours with no better instructions than to “stay away from windows.” They barricaded doors with chairs, hid under desks, fled from one meeting room to another. NDP leader Thomas Mulcair managed to break free in time to record a televised message, but late into the evening – long past any real danger that the halls of Parliament remained unsafe – CBC reported Liberal leader Justin Trudeau might have to deliver his address by phone because he hadn’t been released yet. (He was eventually freed in time to address TV cameras).....

Canadian born convert to Islam was the Ottawa shooter

People on Twitter claim that the man had Algerian origins and had taken the Muslim name "Abdul"  .... but our overly politically correct media is still playing dumb on several issues and keeping a lot of details under wraps.

From Globe&Mail:
The attack on Parliament Hill’s Centre Block and the National War Memorial has left one Canadian soldier and one male suspect dead.

Soldier shot at the National War Memorial has died
One suspect confirmed dead
Suspect had passport seized after being designated a “high-risk traveller”
Prime Minister safe and "not on Parliament Hill"
Downtown Ottawa and federal government buildings in lockdown

Several hours later, Ottawa Police and RCMP officers were still searching Parliament Hill and officials declined to say whether the gunman acted alone.

Federal sources have identified the suspected shooter as Michael Zehef-Bibeau, a man in his early 30s who was known to Canadian authorities.

Sources told The Globe and Mail that he was recently designated a “high-risk traveller” by the Canadian government and that his passport had been seized – the same circumstances surrounding the case of Martin Rouleau-Couture, the Quebecker who was shot Monday after running down two Canadian Forces soldiers with his car.

The soldier that was killed was identified as Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, according to his aunt. Cpl. Cirillo, who was a member of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, a regiment of Reserve Forces based in Hamilton, was training to join the Canada Border Services Agency, his aunt told The Globe and Mail........

Some of the Blackwater mercenaries convicted for some of the crimes committed in Iraq

Just a stupid band-aid stick-on to appease the hard-hit unlucky Iraqis from decades of USA-lead war on them. The overall injustice done to the country of Iraq can never be undone.

Matt Apuzzo writing at NYTimes:
Former Blackwater Guards Convicted in Iraq Shooting

Four former Blackwater Worldwide security contractors were convicted Wednesday on charges stemming from a deadly 2007 shooting in Iraq.

Federal court jurors found one defendant guilty of murder and three others of manslaughter and weapons charges, roundly asserting that the shooting was criminal. The defendants showed little emotion as the lengthy verdict was read.

Seventeen Iraqis died when gunfire erupted on Sept. 16, 2007 in the crowded Nisour Square in Baghdad. The shooting inflamed anti-American sentiment abroad and helped solidify the notion that Blackwater, America’s largest security contractor in Iraq, was reckless and unaccountable.

The former contractors said that they were ambushed by insurgents and that civilian deaths were the unfortunate, unintended consequences of urban warfare.

The defendants were Blackwater guards. One of them, Nicholas A. Slatten, who the government said fired the first shots, was convicted of murder. The others — Dustin L. Heard, Evan S. Liberty and Paul A. Slough — were convicted on manslaughter and firearms charges.........

.....Manslaughter carries a sentence of up to 15 years per count, or up to eight years for involuntary manslaughter. The firearms charge carries a mandatory 30-year prison term. Murder carries up to life in prison.....

A few of the residents of Ford Nation

The people who vote for Rob Ford and who will hopefully vote for his brother Doug Ford to be the next mayor of this city, are the kind of people that we ordinary folks can relate to and chat with. That's enough for me!

From YahooNews:
Inside Ford Nation

Harry Vandekemp: Trusting the Fords to make 'wise decisions'
Iola Fortino: Believer, anti-bully and proud Ford Nation representative
Albert Wong: Just keep the taxman out of my pocket
Bonnie Luciano: Similar life lessons strengthened her loyalty to the Fords

From YahooNews:
Followers are passionate about politics and quick to forgive
....I’m still not sure I completely understand the Ford phenomenon.
But next time an Ottawa cab driver or a ancouver-based accountant asks me how Rob was elected to lead Canada’s largest city, I might have a better answer.
I’ll say that a large group of Torotonians – many of whom self-describe as Ford Nation – believe that Rob and Doug Ford are looking out for the average Torontonian family.
Despite their privileged upbringings, the Ford’s have cultivated an 'us versus them' mentality, branding themselves as the ultimate protectors against the city’s elite and the big bad media.
And, in doing so, they’ve become political celebrities.......

70 days of unrest in Ferguson

If something is not done to quell this mini uprising,  it's gonna blow up in everybody's faces.
And, guess what?  A Missouri senator, Jamilah Nasheed was arrested last night with a gun in her possession.  This is a senator who is known to be against guns!

From KMOV:
Missouri State Senator Jamilah Nasheed
had a gun in her possession at the time she was arrested Monday night outside the Ferguson Police Department, according to Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson.

Nasheed declined comment about the having the weapon, but did tell News 4 she has a concealed carry permit. A Ferguson police officer said Nasheed was carrying a fully-loaded 9 mm handgun and additional rounds.
Sources also told News 4 Ferguson police requested St. Ann to administer a breathalyzer test at the time of her arrest because she "smelled strongly of intoxicants," but Nasheed refused to do so. Nasheed said Tuesday she was not intoxicated at the time......

From CNN:
This is the new normal in Ferguson: Protests, day and night, for more than 70 days now.
Sometimes it's hundreds of demonstrators, sometimes just a handful. But they're always outside the Ferguson Police Department, clamoring for the indictment of Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of unarmed teenager Michael Brown.
And with new details about the investigation leaked, tensions are escalating.
On Monday night, St. Louis County police detained two protesters, including Missouri State Sen. Jamilah Nasheed. She was detained as she blocked traffic in the middle of the street while protesting outside the Police Department.
Now, there are fears about what could happen next. One protester put it succinctly:
"If there is not an indictment, excuse my French, all hell is going to break loose."..............

Frankenstein is kept alive and kicking by the total inefficiency of aid agencies from the Western powers and the UN.

Jamie  Dettmer writing at DailyBeast:
U.S. Humanitarian Aid Going to ISIS

Not only are foodstuffs, medical supplies—even clinics—going to ISIS, the distribution networks are paying ISIS ‘taxes’ and putting ISIS people on their payrolls.

While U.S. warplanes strike at the militants of the so-called Islamic State in both Syria and Iraq, truckloads of U.S. and Western aid has been flowing into territory controlled by the jihadists, assisting them to build their terror-inspiring “caliphate.”

The aid—mainly food and medical equipment—is meant for Syrians displaced from their hometowns, and for hungry civilians. It is funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development, European donors, and the United Nations. Whether it continues is now the subject of anguished debate among officials in Washington and European. The fear is that stopping aid would hurt innocent civilians and would be used for propaganda purposes by the militants, who would likely blame the West for added hardship.

The Bible says if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him something to drink—doing so will “heap burning coals” of shame on his head. But there is no evidence that the militants of the Islamic State, widely known as ISIS or ISIL, feel any sense of disgrace or indignity (and certainly not gratitude) receiving charity from their foes.

Quite the reverse, the aid convoys have to pay off ISIS emirs (leaders) for the convoys to enter the eastern Syrian extremist strongholds of Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor, providing yet another income stream for ISIS militants, who are funding themselves from oil smuggling, extortion, and the sale of whatever they can loot, including rare antiquities from museums and archaeological sites.

“The convoys have to be approved by ISIS and you have to pay them: The bribes are disguised and itemized as transportation costs,” says an aid coordinator who spoke to The Daily Beast on the condition he not be identified in this article. The kickbacks are either paid by foreign or local nongovernmental organizations tasked with distributing the aid, or by the Turkish or Syrian transportation companies contracted to deliver it...........

Leave the Middle East to the Middle Easterns .... let them destroy each other

If you read the article below in full and also the article at the link in the tweet you will surely come away with a feeling that the entire situation in any one of the Muslim countries in the Middle East is a cauldron brewing with poisonous herbs from a million plants. What are the Western powers doing in that shit?  Will we ever understand those myriad of tribes and the enmity between the tribes and enmity between various factions within those tribes?  What total madness to go into hellholes when we can't understand even a small segment of the utterly mad Muslim world and have to depend on Middle East "experts" and "analysts" who have their own agendum to tell us conflicting stories of these inbred people?
Haven't we have had enough of the madness?  Can't we just leave them alone to off each other off?

Liz Sly writing at WashingtonPost:
Syria's tribal revolt against Islamic State ignored fueling resentment........

.....Relations quickly frayed. The crunch came, the tribesmen in Reyhanli said, when Islamic State fighters whipped a local man who was caught smoking a cigarette in the street, a crime under the Islamic State’s harsh interpretation of Islam. The man’s brother, incensed, shot at a passing Islamic State patrol, killing one of its fighters.

The brother was arrested and publicly beheaded, triggering an outpouring of rage. Residents marched on the Islamic State’s headquarters, forcing its fighters to flee. The militants then brought in reinforcements and began shelling the town, using artillery they had captured the previous month in Iraq.

After a three-day barrage, the Islamic State militants moved in. They rounded up all the surviving men and boys older than 15 they could find and set about systematically killing them, the fighters in Reyhanli said.

A photo essay on an Islamic State blog boasted of the different ways tribesmen were killed, including beheadings, mass shootings and a crucifixion. A video shows how the militants lined up scores of captives on a road, their hands bound, then set about clumsily decapitating them, one by one. The executioners, speaking in Tunisian, Egyptian and Saudi accents, taunted those not yet dead by swinging severed heads in front of their faces and telling them, “It’s your turn next.”..........

The new norm in Canada?

Why do I have this sinking feeling that this kind of one-man jihadi action will be seen again and again?

Thank you dear Government  for importing  religion-crazed Muslims and letting them and their way of life radicalize Christian Canadians to convert to satanic rites;
Thank you dear Government for not stopping imams from visiting prisons even though you know fully well they go to those dens for the sole purpose of converting the feeble-minded to their depraved creed;
Thank you dear Government for not introducing a law making it illegal for Muslim prayers in the streets of Canada;
Thank you dear Government for not introducing a law making it illegal to wear full burqas in our streets;
etc.etc.etc.

Keep pampering Muslims, dear Government .... it's sure to work in getting many more non-Muslim Canadians killed.  The more non-Muslims killed, the quicker Canada can be caliphated, right dear Government?  That must be your goal, eh dear Government .... otherwise why would you not impose laws to keep non-Muslims safe?

Speaking in the Indonesian capital, Kerry told reporters that the administration understood ally Turkey's concerns about supplying the Kurds, who are linked to a Kurdish group that Ankara fiercely opposes.
But, he said the situation is such in the besieged town of Kobani that the resupplies were deemed absolutely necessary in a "crisis moment."...

The wonderful world of Prison America

Unbelievable!   No .... actually quite believable.  No wonder America is becoming a laughing stock all over the world and it's mainly because of its hypocrisy and the chutzpah it has to lecture other countries without being able to see the huge speck of dirt stuck in its own eyes.
Niall McCarthy writing at Forbes:

Can a pope be impeached ?

Not that I don't agree with a lot this hippie pope has to say, but there are some real weird opinions that no matter how broadminded one wants to be, simply does not hold water. AND, he's so wrong about the jihadi faith.
Furthermore, I hate it when the clergy talks to the faithful like they are 2-yr olds.

Beatification marks the end of synod that failed to agree on welcoming gays and civilly remarried couples.

Similarities between Enron in its dying days and the America of today

Ever wondered if America will go the way of Enron? Remember how the "too big to fail"  Enron went bankrupt in the shortest possible time?  When Enron fell, thousands of Enron employees had no clue that they were working for a company which was just a house of cards. Most Americans are also clueless to the fact that their country has been hollowed out with the never-ending wars and that the top 1% (as usual) will be the only survivors and the rest will be left out in the cold not knowing what happened.
There are so many similarities between Enron and what's happening in today's America.  Watch the documentary and see for yourselves.

BTW, please watch any long vids in my blog by clicking on the title at the top within the vid which will take you to YouTube so the YouTube poster can get the view count.

Below is a listing of top 10 energy companies that went bankrupt.
Andrew Topf writing at OilPrice:
Running a multi-billion dollar energy company isn’t easy. Just ask the executives in the corner suites of some of the energy companies that have gone bust over the years. Some, like Enron, were brought down because of insider malfeasance. A few, like ATP, blamed damaging government policies, while others went off the rails due to market forces that left the company and its shareholders flat-footed, deep in debt, and eventually broke. Here are the bankruptcies that will be etched into the tombstones of failed energy fortunes for time immemorial.

1.    Enron. Bankrupt December 2, 2001. Assets $65.5 billion
Enron grew from a simple pipeline company into the world’s largest energy trader by using the Internet to buy and sell natural gas and electric power to help utilities and industrial power users hedge against price fluctuations. By 2000, Enron was worth an astonishing $68 billion, but when the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission started investigating, it was revealed that much of the money was based on shady accounting practices and un-recorded losses. In one year, Enron’s stock price plummeted from more than $90 to less than $1, resulting in $11 billion in shareholder losses. The subsequent bankruptcy remains the largest in U.S. history. CEO Kenneth Lay and fellow Enron executive Jeffrey Skilling were convicted in 2006 of fraud and conspiracy. Lay died from a heart attack while awaiting sentencing. Skilling is still in prison........

Driving through a war zone to Aleppo
We took the long way round. Not that there was any choice if we were to avoid the fighting. It takes eight hours to drive from Damascus to Aleppo now, twice as long as before the war.
We passed trucks and tankers with the same destination – the road from Homs through Sulemiyah and north through Khanaser is the only supply route to Syria’s second city. A few miles to the east is territory controlled by jihadis from the Islamic State, while other rebels groups hold land to the west.
But the narrow corridor the government controls did not feel insecure – the soldiers on checkpoints were relaxed and every few miles they had built up a dug-in position from which to survey the flat scrubland on either side..........

Four men appear in London court    over alleged ISIS-inspired terror plot
Four young men have appeared in a London court in connection with an alleged terror plot to shoot and kill police officers and soldiers in the capital. The defendants allegedly swore allegiance to Islamic State extremists.
The men, who appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court on Friday, were arrested in raids conducted by Scotland Yard's counter-terrorism command over the past two weeks.
The men allegedly used Google Street View to conduct reconnaissance on Shepherd’s Bush police station and White City Territorial Army Barracks, the court heard. The men also had images of two Metropolitan police officers, the Press Association reported.
The men also possessed a gun with a silencer, ammunition, and a moped – which they were presumably going to use as a getaway vehicle.
Those being charged with terrorism offenses are medical student Tarik Hassane, 21, Nyall Mamlet, 24, Momen Motasim, 21, and Suhaib Majeed, 20. A fifth man, 25-year-old Nathan Cuffy, was only charged with firearm offenses. Police say he gave a converted Baikal handgun and six rounds of ammunition to Mamlet.
