Mark Levin: A government that can’t run a website is going to keep us safe by vetting Syrian refugees?
Media shock over Obama plan to bring in a couple of thousand Syrian refugees growing
The thing to remember when reading the numbers given for refugees coming into North America, is the fact that, just like how the government massages the unemployment numbers by never taking into account those who have fallen off the unemployment benefits rollercoaster and gone to seed, so also the government does not bother to inform us that the refugee numbers show only the main applicant(s) and in most cases it would be the adult male in the family that would count in the "numbers game" and very, very rarely "one" wife from his horde. The minors are not included in the "numbers game" and whether you want to believe it or not, I have heard of those extra wives jotted down as "daughters" because it's easy in those countries, especially in war-time, to get falsified papers manipulating the true ages of those our wonderful North American governments are importing so very delightfully.

From Globe&Mail It has been a difficult, sad week. One Canadian soldier murdered by a vehicle turned into a weapon on Monday, another gunned down at the War Memorial in Ottawa on Wednesday, and the armed assailant later killed while roaming the halls of Parliament. We do not yet know to what extent the two incidents are connected. We do not know if they were in any way planned in concert, or to any degree directed from overseas. What appears far more likely is that they are connected only by a thin thread of ideology: a pseudo-religion that dreams of purification through violence, and whose only commandments are death, death and death. There’s much the public doesn’t yet know about the men who carried out these two attacks. At the time of this writing, sources tell The Globe that the Parliament Hill shooter, identified as Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, intended to travel abroad, but had not been able to secure a valid travel document from federal officials. Monday’s killer, Martin Rouleau-Couture, had his passport taken away because he was believed to be trying to leave the country to join a jihadist group in Syria. In both cases, questions are rightly being asked about why these men, considered sufficiently high-risk to be denied the right to travel, were never charged. There will be questions about whether police and prosecutors made the wrong call, and why, and whether the law could or should have allowed them to do otherwise. ......
From IndependentUK: Ottawa shooting: Harper’s pro-US agenda has turned Canada into a target and divided society The impact of the country’s participation in the US-led war against Isis has already been felt The safest country in the world is no longer a safe place and many Canadians will be asking today whether this is because the Conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper pushed Canada into joining the US-led war in the Middle East....... ..........Canada has a large Muslim population – more than 2 per cent are Canadian citizens – but the word “radicalised” only came into use recently when the Harper government revealed it believed that about 30 young Canadians had gone to support Isis........ From CBC: TIMELINE Ottawa shooting: How events unfolded First shots fired at 9:52 a.m. at the War Memorial At the National War Memorial Members of the Hamilton-based Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada had been the sentries at the National War Memorial in Ottawa this week.
At 9:52 a.m. on Oct. 22, two soldiers were on guard at the National War Memorial in downtown Ottawa when one was shot. Witnesses reported hearing four gunshots. Raivo Nommick, who was walking by the memorial, said: "All of a sudden I just heard a shot, turned around and there was a guy with a rifle." More shots rang out and Nommick saw the other soldier come running over and the first soldier drop. Nommick says he "immediately called 911." He says the shooter had "a long-barrelled rifle" and "was dressed in civilian clothes with a hoodie and a bandana." Jan Lugtenborg, a Dutch tourist, was waiting for a tour bus when he heard four shots. "The guy who shot, he was a small man with long black hair," Lugtenborg said. The shooter "suddenly crossed the street with his long rifle ... running like hell" towards Parliament Hill...................... From NationalPost: Ottawa’s secrecy fetish only added to confusion and fear of dangerous situation The practical effects of the cult of secrecy that has enveloped Ottawa were put on display for all Canadians Wednesday during the shootings on Parliament Hill. While courageous police and front-line security forces did their best to deal with the chaos that reigned across the core of the capital, a cloak of official silence descended that left everyone below the level of Prime Minister in the dark about what was going on. Members of Parliament were herded into “safe” areas and left for hours with no better instructions than to “stay away from windows.” They barricaded doors with chairs, hid under desks, fled from one meeting room to another. NDP leader Thomas Mulcair managed to break free in time to record a televised message, but late into the evening – long past any real danger that the halls of Parliament remained unsafe – CBC reported Liberal leader Justin Trudeau might have to deliver his address by phone because he hadn’t been released yet. (He was eventually freed in time to address TV cameras)..... From Globe&Mail: The attack on Parliament Hill’s Centre Block and the National War Memorial has left one Canadian soldier and one male suspect dead.
and it all boils down to getting the Muslim vote at election time. The politicians of both these countries, along with many many more, have sold their souls for votes from the Muslim immigrant communities. Good of the country be damned. Patriotism be double damned. As long as these blasted politicians can win their seats, who gives a shit! What we forget time and time again is that these lowlives would not be holding political office if they were not lowlives. That's the bottom line. They will grovel on the ground kissing the feet of niqab clad Muslimas and Shariah enforcers if it means that they will get that X in the box alongside their name come election time. I don't blame the Muslim immigrants anymore .... at least not as much as I used to. I understand that for the Muslims their satanic book tells them to conquer the infidels everywhere they go and convert the lands of the infidels to evil incarnate. The faithful among the Muslim immigrants are abiding by their religion. I blame the politicians and the laws or the lack of laws in our countries. The rules and regulations should be very straightforward and Muslim immigrants should sign their consent to them if they wish to migrate to non-Muslim lands. The rules should empathically state that the long list (I don't have the stamina to go through it right now, but there must be 1000s) of cavemen stuff they believe in and practice will not be allowed in our non-Muslim lands. If caught abusing those rules and regulations, their citizenship will be revoked and they will be deported. Furthermore, they AND their lawyers should be scrutinized by the intelligence agencies to check for any links to wahhabi terrorist groups because only those this deeply into wahhabism would want to follow such practices and fight on behalf of people who want to follow such depravity. What brought on this rant? Read the following two items. Although, Canada's ex-Immigration Minister Jason Kenney did the right thing, wasn't it a bit too late? Wouldn't all this and more be avoided if intelligent people instead of numbskulls were ruling over us?
From MetroNews: Ex-immigration minister Jason Kenney ‘dictated’ niqab ban at citizenship ceremony, court told A Mississauga woman has taken the federal government to court over a policy that forbids wearing the face-covering veil while taking the oath of citizenship, arguing the ban breaches her Charter rights and fails to accommodate her religious beliefs and dress code. Banning the niqab from citizenship ceremonies is the result of former immigration minister Jason Kenney imposing his own ideology of “Canadian values” on the process, Zunera Ishaq’s lawyer, Naseem Mithoowani, told federal court Justice Keith Boswell at a hearing in Toronto on Thursday. “The true motivation of the policy is to compel Muslim women to abandon, albeit briefly, their religious adherence,” Mithoowani said. “The failure to remove the veil is at the heart of this policy, more than being seen taking the oath . . . This is about Kenney deciding that niqab does not fit into the mode of Canadian citizens.” It’s the first such challenge against the niqab ban at citizenship ceremonies; if successful, it could strike down the policy. In December 2011, Kenney brought in the ban in an operational manual — rather than new legislation — in a series of measurements meant to strengthen the integrity of Canadian citizenship that also included raising the pass mark for the citizenship test and stricter residency and language requirements............. From Channel4: Hundreds of new FGM cases - but still no convictions Never before published figures reveal the scale of female genital mutilation in England, with the number of women currently being treated by the NHS approaching 2,000. Figures from the Health and Social Care Information Centre show there were 467 newly identified cases of FGM in English hospitals in September. This adds to 1,279 active cases - women with a history of FGM who are currently being treated by the NHS for FGM-related or non-related issues. It is the first time such data has been published in the UK, and HSCIC chair Kingsley Manning said the data is an important step towards preventing the crime. FGM has been a crime in the UK for 30 years, but to date there have been no convictions for subjecting women - and more often young girls - to the practice. The first trial, of two men including a doctor from London, is due to begin in January next year. The HSCIC figures show that women with a history of FGM are more likely to be found in London - though the problem is spread across the country.........
Diddly dum diddly doodah .... what a fine web we weave when our Immigration Ministers have cotton wool inside their ears and same inside their skulls. The latest guy can't even recognize a Nazi flag when it's waved under his nose leave alone the black flag of jihad. Mind you, these guys in our government have had the best in education that Canada can offer but not the commonsense that's needed to turn that educational background into a powerhouse for the benefit of the country. I see a bleak future for Canada .... and that's not because I am a soothsayer, it's plain simple logic.
From CBC: U.S. journalists Theo Curtis, Matt Schrier held hostage by Canadians in Syria. At least 3 Canadians took part in forcing hostages to hand over computer passwords and PINs At least three Canadians who joined an al-Qaeda-linked militant group in Syria were directly involved in the holding and harsh interrogation of two U.S. journalists in the region, CBC News has confirmed. Sources say the Canadians, whose identities aren't known by CBC, took part in the imprisonment of Theo Curtis and Matt Schrier, who were held in captivity together between 2011 and 2013. Curtis was released by al-Qaeda affiliate group Jabhat al-Nusra last month, while Schrier escaped last year. Both men are still recovering and haven't yet fully detailed what happened in their years in captivity. The Canadian captors reportedly forced the hostages to hand over their computer passwords and PINs, draining their accounts. They then callously wrote letters and emails to the journalists' families pretending to be the men, and then set about going after their credit cards and racking them up, buying electronics and computers on eBay, according to the sources..........
Hopefully, I will be dead by the time Canada becomes Canadistan and won't have to live by shariah ..... because it's a foregone conclusion that Canada will be caliphated, maybe sooner than we thought.
Only the illiterate are making their way to fight with jihadis. How did the Canadian immigration department go so wrong? We used to be the envy of other nations for having the best mix of well educated immigrants who were fast becoming part of the backbone of this country. How and when did we start importing so many refugees who are largely so illiterate that they think they can hold a Canadian citizenship but still go abroad to fight civil wars in other countries? Canada's refugee policy needs to be revamped and the United Nations should be told to go take a hike if they demand we take more than we should. Am I a bad person? I laughed heartily at what I have highlighted below. HAHAHAHAHAHAH
Nadim Roberts writing at CBCNews Eight months ago, Umm Haritha, a 20-year-old woman from Canada, made her way to Turkey against her parents’ wishes with a half-empty suitcase and $1,500. Within a week she was in Syria, and a few weeks later she was married to Abu Ibrahim al-Suedi, a 26-year-old Palestinian from Sweden fighting for Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the Sunni jihadist group battling the Syrian regime. It is not clear whether Umm Haritha's marriage to Abu Ibrahim was arranged before her travel to Syria. Regardless, it only lasted five months. On May 5, Abu Ibrahim, whose real name is Taha Shade, was in a car en route to a meeting in Deir ez-Zor with members of rival faction Jabhat al-Nusra. What was meant to be a gathering to finalize a peace treaty between ISIS and al-Nusra turned deadly when an al-Nusra fighter on a motorbike sped up to Shade’s car and detonated his explosive belt. At the time, Shade was wearing his own explosive belt, which also went off and blew him to pieces. Two days later, Umm Haritha tweeted about her husband’s death, calling on “Allah” to “destroy those who backstabbed the brothers and resurrect Abu Ibrahim with noor [light] from every piece of his body.” Umm Haritha’s journey to Syria highlights an underreported part of the western Jihadist experience in Syria. While the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation (ICSR) has estimated that up to 2,800 Western men have gone to Syria to fight, much less is known about the Western women who have gone over to marry jihadists since the Syrian civil war began three years ago......
Strange going-ons with journalist Stewart Bell of National Post. He pens an article which is a sob story of what happened to a Canadian jihadi when fighting in Libya to overthrow Gadhafi. The jihadi comes back with a bullet in his spine and is now confined to a wheelchair which means the jihadi will be a burden to the Canadian taxpayer for the rest of his miserable life. And, to add insult to injury, nitwit journalists like Stewart Bell decide to write articles from the jihadis' point of view. Stewart Bell didn't think it was his duty as a Canadian to mention to the jihadi that if one considers oneself to be a Canadian, then what happens in your "home" country that you left to be a citizen of Canada should not matter to you. Your loyalty is to Canada and as a Canadian citizen you have no right to join uprisings in other countries. If one wants to do that, then one should give up their Canadian citizenship and get the fuck out of here. But, of course not .... it was far from Steward Bell's mind to remind the jihadi of the wrong he has done. O Canada! When and how did you go wrong!
From National Post: ....Gentle and soft-spoken, Tarek Ben-Kura wasn’t a fighter by nature, but when the Arab Spring came to Libya, he couldn’t just watch from Canada as the regime forces crushed the revolt. He wanted to be there on the frontline. “Hamid, have you ever fired a gun before?” he asked his pal, a Montreal student who was also thinking of joining the fight. Clad in a Habs t-shirt and a sideways ball cap the colours of the Libyan flag, Hamid shook his head. The only shooting he had done was in video games. “I played Call of Duty,” he offered. Mr. Ben-Kura had never fired a gun either. He was a Montreal-born business student at Bishop’s University. But after arriving in Benghazi, he signed up for basic weapons training and set off to help the Libyan rebels topple Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. Three years later, the Mad Dog of the Middle East lies in an unmarked grave somewhere beneath the desert sand and Mr. Ben-Kura is back in Canada with a new mission. Four days a week, he visits an Ottawa physiotherapy clinic, building his strength so he might one day get out of the wheelchair he has needed since a soldier’s bullet severed his spine. He struggles with post-traumatic stress. He is 25. In an interview this week, he insisted it was worth it to oust Gaddafi and free his political prisoners. “He’s dead now,” he said of the dictator. “His sons and the other people who were doing the dirty work for him are either out of the country or in jail. They have to face the consequences of what they did. And that’s good enough.”...........
and guess what else folks? These newly made multi-millionaires will all apply for investor status immigrant visas to the Western countries, most of them must have already done so and have been accepted too. The irony is that they will be using the same money they got off our stupid powers-that-be, to invade our countries. Like I have always maintained .... wars make untold amounts of money for some of the most horrible amongst us. Even the supporters of the "rebels" in Syria here in Canada and the USA, must have already made millions from our governments in one way or another. How they must be laughing at us and our anti-Muslim blogs and our loyalty to the very politicians and the governments that makes them the kind of money we will never see even if we live through several lifetimes.
Robert Tait writing at TelegraphUK: ....Syrian rebel army 'sacked' over corruption claims. The high command of the Free Syrian Army has been disbanded a day after President Barack Obama pledged hundreds of millions of pounds in aid. The Western-backed Syrian rebel movement fighting President Bashar Assad's regime was in disarray on Friday after its military high command was sacked over corruption allegations a day after the Obama administration earmarked it for £293 million in financial support. The country's self-styled opposition government took the dramatic step amid repots of rampant malfeasance within the ranks of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) Ahmad Tohme, head of the government-in-exile, said it had "decided to disband the Supreme Military Council and refer its members to the government's financial and administration committee for investigation". Brigadier General Abdelilah al-Bashir, the FSA's chief-of-staff, is also being fired in the purge, the opposition government said in an announcement posted on Facebook. It urged "revolutionary forces on the ground" to form a new defence council within a month and to carry out a thorough shake-up of the FSA's command structure. The exiled government's move came after the White House on Thursday said it would ask Congress to approve new funding to train and equip "the moderate Syrian opposition". The funding request came in response to the rapid gains of the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Shams (Isis) in northern Iraq, where it is fighting against Nouri al-Maliki's Shia-led government.......
Time for the Western governments to build more mosques and give more incentives to imams and mullahs to conduct their 5-times a day intensive brainwashing of the young Muslim immigrants. What could go wrong, eh? At the very most (and as desirable by the powers-that-be) they will be inducted in terrorist armies that fight on our governments' behalf in Muslim countries overseas or failing that they might blow themselves up in the Western countries themselves ... if the latter happens, it's all collateral damage, my dear Watson. Relax! If my theory above is harebrained, can anyone give a logical reason why our governments continue to import Muslim families?
From TheGuardianUK: ....Last week the Islamist militant group Isis released a recruiting video featuring three young British men. One of them was Reyaad Khan, a 20-year-old from Cardiff. The Guardian has obtained exclusive footage of an interview with Khan, filmed in 2010 before he left to fight in Syria. He argues the government wasted resources on "illegal wars" and said more money ought to be spent on young people to help prevent them being led down the "wrong path"
can be completely destructive when that 1% decides to start killing for their satanic god. Are you watching and perhaps learning from what is happening in Iraq, dear stupid governments of the West? No, of course not. Our idiots walking the halls of power will import even more of these radicals so their numbers can grow to well above 10% in the next few years.
Martin Chulov writing at TheGuardianUK: .....How an arrest in Iraq revealed Isis's $2bn jihadist network Seizure of 160 computer flash sticks revealed the inside story of Isis, the band of militants that came from nowhere with nothing to having Syrian oil fields and control of Iraq's second city. Two days before Mosul fell to the Islamic insurgent group Isis (the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant), Iraqi commanders stood eyeballing its most trusted messenger. The man, known within the extremist group as Abu Hajjar, had finally cracked after a fortnight of interrogation and given up the head of Isis's military council. "He said to us, 'you don't realise what you have done'," an intelligence official recalled. "Then he said: 'Mosul will be an inferno this week'.' Several hours later, the man he had served as a courier and been attempting to protect, Abdulrahman al-Bilawi, lay dead in his hideout near Mosul. From the home of the dead man and the captive, Iraqi forces hoovered up more than 160 computer flash sticks which contained the most detailed information yet known about the terror group. The treasure trove included names and noms de guerre of all foreign fighters, senior leaders and their code words, initials of sources inside ministries and full accounts of the group's finances. "We were all amazed and so were the Americans," a senior intelligence official told the Guardian. "None of us had known most of this information."........
From BBC: ....Sunni militants say they have seized a strategically important border crossing and two towns along the Euphrates river in continued fighting in Iraq. Officials admitted that the militants had seized the border crossing to Syria near the town of Qaim, killing 30 troops after a day-long battle. Rebels also said they had taken the towns of Rawa and Aneh. Correspondents say a campaign along the river may eventually lead to an assault on Baghdad from the west. The capture of the Qaim crossing in western Iraq could help Isis transport weapons and other equipment to different battlefields, analysts say. Sunni extremists have seized control of large areas of territory across Iraq in recent days.....
of their handiwork in bringing up these dumb twosome. The two idiots have now put their child, born in captivity, in danger too. The chutzpah of the two sets of parents requesting the governments of both countries to help their two idiots, whom they didn't bring up the right way, otherwise they wouldn't be in the situation they are in today, is something to wonder about. Why can't they raise funds from like-minded idiots like their two darling idiots (plenty of such found everywhere) and send mercenaries to rescue the family instead of gouging on taxpayers, and probably putting Canadian and American government rescuers, sent in to find these degenerates, in extreme danger? BTW, this is the same nutcase who was Zainab Khadr's fourth or fifth husband. I would really like to see what she looks like under that black blanket that attracts so many loons. There's nothing more funny than reading the lies from the demonic nation of Saudi Arabia. You know Saudi Arabia don't you? Yeah, the country that is Israel's secret best friend. Yeah, the country that is USA's second best friend after Israel. Yeah, the country that's full of oil rich billionaires with whom Canada's politicians love to hobnob with at every opportunity. That Saudi Arabia! People with even one last remaining active brain cell in their skull, knows that Saudi Arabia finances terrorism all over the world and are the #1 bribe givers to corrupt politicians in each and every country of the world.... and yet they deny funding and arming the terrorists in Iraq.
From Embassy of Saudi Arabia, London: ....The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia wishes to see the defeat and destruction of all Al-Qaeda networks and the Islamic State of Iraq and Al Sham (ISIS) operating in Iraq. Saudi Arabia does not provide either moral or financial support to ISIS or any terrorist networks. Any suggestion to the contrary, is a malicious falsehood. Despite the false allegations of the Iraqi Ministerial Cabinet, whose exclusionary policies have fomented this current crisis, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia supports the preservation of Iraq's sovereignty, its unity and territorial integrity. We wish to see the protection of all civilians and the alleviation of their current suffering. We oppose all foreign intervention and interference in the internal affairs of Iraq. Instead, we urge all the people of Iraq, whatever their religious denominations, to unite to overcome the current threats and challenges facing the country.
Arab dictators are not the only dictators having the monopoly on killing one's own citizens. Christians and Jews are equally blood-thirsty ... and sometimes even more so. See for yourselves.
You gotta wonder how a terrorist force which makes up probably less than 1% of the population of Iraq can now hold sway over more than half the country. This should serve as a harbinger of things to come to those naive idiots who claim that Muslims make up less than 5% of the population of Canada or America. It's not the percentage... stupid ... it's what that percentage can do to you, that you, as a peace-loving decent citizen, would never be able to. Is that so difficult to understand?
They know it's coming but the idiots will as usual target mainly the totally innocent and give free rein to those who are destroying the country and to those who are supporting them in the destruction ... the supporters are namely themselves. But try telling them that.
Dr. Nafeez Ahmed writing at the Guardian ....Pentagon preparing for mass civil breakdown. Social science is being militarised to develop 'operational tools' to target peaceful activists and protest movements...... .....Another project awarded this year to the University of Washington "seeks to uncover the conditions under which political movements aimed at large-scale political and economic change originate," along with their "characteristics and consequences." The project, managed by the US Army Research Office, focuses on "large-scale movements involving more than 1,000 participants in enduring activity," and will cover 58 countries in total. Last year, the DoD's Minerva Initiative funded a project to determine 'Who Does Not Become a Terrorist, and Why?' which, however, conflates peaceful activists with "supporters of political violence" who are different from terrorists only in that they do not embark on "armed militancy" themselves. The project explicitly sets out to study non-violent activists: "In every context we find many individuals who share the demographic, family, cultural, and/or socioeconomic background of those who decided to engage in terrorism, and yet refrained themselves from taking up armed militancy, even though they were sympathetic to the end goals of armed groups. The field of terrorism studies has not, until recently, attempted to look at this control group. This project is not about terrorists, but about supporters of political violence." The project's 14 case studies each "involve extensive interviews with ten or more activists and militants in parties and NGOs who, though sympathetic to radical causes, have chosen a path of non-violence." I contacted the project's principal investigator, Prof Maria Rasmussen of the US Naval Postgraduate School, asking why non-violent activists working for NGOs should be equated to supporters of political violence – and which "parties and NGOs" were being investigated – but received no response..........
Now I see Calgary is winning over us. That makes me sad! Really sad! Why is Toronto not top dog any more? Hopefully the jihadis returning from Syria will win back our top standing.
From CBCNews: ....EXCLUSIVE Suicide bomber killed in Iraq part of wider jihadi base in Calgary. Salman Ashrafi, killed in 2013 suicide attack, lived in same building as 4 other extremist fighters Homegrown extremism abroadhas a new face, and CBC News has learned it belongs to yet another Calgary man, a development that points to the West as a hotbed for exporting jihadis. His name is Salman Ashrafi, and when the Al-Qaeda splinter group ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) released images of him last month following a double suicide bombing in Iraq in November that killed 46 people, he was celebrated in a martryrdom notice.
Only then, he was known as Abu Abdullah Al Khorasani. CBC News has confirmed that Al Khorasani was Ashrafi's nom de guerre and that he was a Canadian citizen who grew up in the Stampede City, where he went to school and worked. The Calgarian's story is one of as many as two dozen others, most of whom left to battle alongside rebel militants in Syria. At one time, Ashrafi led a lifestyle many would have envied, with jobs at Talisman and Exxon and huge downtown Calgary firms.........
When the Conservatives are walloped in the 2015 election, I hope all you disappointed Conservative voters will remember that the reason for the party's demise will be the party itself. It's extremely hard to ignore, even for those diehard Harper lovers, that the man has become so embroiled with some strange notions which have made him blind and deaf to what the rest of us can see and hear. The Conservative govt's foray into Libya was a big mistake, even bigger was the support for Syrian rebels .... and now the fiasco in Ukraine? Do you think voters can ignore all these humongous foreign policy errors? I wish Jim Flaherty was alive, maybe he might have drummed some sense into this ex-superstar.
Joan Bryden of AP at CTVNews: .....Harper gov't ignores advice on Ukraine election observation missions. For the third time in four years, the Harper government has sent a large, Canada-only mission to observe an election in Ukraine, despite a report that concluded it would be cheaper, more credible and more effective to join a multilateral international mission. Some 338 observers are part of Canada's current independent mission in Ukraine; they are fanned out across the troubled country to assess the integrity of Sunday's presidential election process. Another 162 Canadians are also monitoring the election as part of a multilateral mission co-ordinated by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), whose missions are considered the gold standard by veteran election observers. Canada also sent large, independent delegations to observe Ukraine's parliamentary elections in 2012 and its presidential election in 2010, in addition to participation in OSCE missions. Yet, after the first Canada-only mission in 2004, an evaluation report prepared for the government concluded the large scale of that bilateral venture "should not be considered as a precedent but only as a 'last resort option' for future Canadian observer missions." "The use of multilateral missions for Canadian short term election observers should continue to be considered as the first deployment option," said the report, obtained by The Canadian Press under the Access to Information Act. Among other things, the report found the cost of going it alone was nearly double the cost of taking part in an OSCE mission: $9,335 per observer for the eight-day 2004 mission, versus $4,981 per observer for a 10-day OSCE mission in Ukraine earlier the same year......... ...........On the downside, the Canadian delegation had little election monitoring experience and Canadians of Ukrainian heritage were sometimes perceived "to be less than neutral." Indeed, a survey of observers uncovered some concerns about "partisan behaviour" by some mission members, particularly Ukrainian Canadians who were perceived as favouring the pro-western presidential candidate in the 2004 election, Viktor Yuschenko...... .........."If there had been marked interference during voting and vote-counting, it was suggested that it may have been more difficult to defend the mission as non-partisan." By contrast, the report said the OSCE has a "respected track record of elections observation" and its "multinational composition contributes to greater perceived neutrality."..........

From Channel4: ....In this Channel 4 News exclusive, British and other western jihadi fighters are shown in Syria as never before - fighting and killing, shopping and preparing for a wedding. Inigo Gilmore reports.
Fighters from the west are flocking to Syria in growing numbers, with estimates that there are now about 80 British recruits in the country among as many as 700 Europeans.....
From VICE: ....Over the past year, Syria’s foreign fighters have become an important focus of the conflict in the international media, as well as a huge security headache for governments around the world. Thousands of young men – although no one can be sure just how many thousands – have flocked into Syria to fight. To reach the country they travel through an international network that starts with recruitment in their country of origin, and ends in a journey to the border with men like Abu Hussein.
In the summer of 2012, "Abu Hussein the Russian" began escorting foreign mujahideen fighters to Syria to join the war against Bashar al Assad’s regime. He was the jihadists’ transporter, responsible for meeting them at the airport in Istanbul and taking them on the 15-hour bus journey down to the Syrian border.
When I met him in Akçakale – a Turkish town on the border with Syria – he whipped out his passport. “Want to see this?” he asked. Page after page was covered in Turkish entry and exit stamps, each of them representing a foreign fighter that he had helped to bring into his country. He escorted them one by one, travelling up to Istanbul by plane from the border region of Hatay, and then travelling back down by bus to avoid the attentions of the security services. At the border he would deliver his new companion to another contact, who would then smuggle them in over the border. The whole journey, there and back, took less than 24 hours. “Like fast food!” Abu Hussein quipped.
Which doesn't quite work as a metaphor, but you can see his point............

Expected back in the islamized America:
From DailyBeast: ....The exclusive footage focuses on recruits from a hardline Sunni militia of more than 700 foreign fighters in the Katiba al-Muhajireen (the battalion of migrants) and follows Ibrahim al-Mazwagi, the first British fighter to die in Syria. He was killed in February this year, aged just 21.....
....The problem, U.S. counter-terrorism and intelligence officials tell The Daily Beast, is that there are just so many jihadists with Western passports traveling to fight in Syria that they worry some of them may slip back into the United States without being detected.
“The NSA does not have the ability to track thousands of bad guys—and on the human intelligence side, this is even more difficult,” another senior U.S. intelligence official told The Daily Beast. “So we are worried that people are slipping through the cracks.”
Olsen in his March testimony said there were thousands of foreign fighters in Syria and that hundreds of those fighters held Western passports..........
From Haaretz: ....FBI: Rising number of American jihadis in Syria threaten U.S.
Concern that Americans who have joined al-Qaida affiliates in Syria will return to home to carry out terrorist attacks, says FBI director.
The number of Americans traveling to Syria to fight in the civil war is increasing steadily and is of real concern to U.S. law enforcement and intelligence officials, FBI Director James B. Comey said on the weekend.
Comey did not provide an exact number, but said the trend was “getting worse.” In an interview four months ago, he said that "dozens" had already joined the fight, the Washington Post reported.
The FBI's concern is that the Americans who have joined extremist groups allied with al-Qaida in Syria will return to the United States to carry out terrorist attacks......
Expected back in Canadistan:
This one has gone to that never-ending supply of 72 virgins but his buddies are probably on their way back.
From CBC: ...Another young Canadian man who converted to Islam and was radicalized has been confirmed dead after fighting in Syria, a CBC News investigation has learned.
By the time of his death in Syria, Andre Poulin from Timmins, Ont., had become a battle-hardened jihadi known as Abu Muslim.
He arrived in Syria in late 2012, and joined a unit of foreign fighters controlled by a Chechen.....
From: Radio Canada Intl: ....It’s believed the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) is tracking up to 80 Canadians it suspects of having travelled abroad to engage in terrorist activities.
CSIS says some engaged in paramilitary activities, while others attended extremist Islamic schools, others may have been involved in logistical or fund-raising support, and some simply never made a connection and have returned.
Security agencies are concerned that any or all of the group could be returning more radicalized than when they left. Some may have learned potentially dangerous new skills which they could teach to others. This would include such things as bomb-making as an example.........
Expected back in islamized Australia:
From AlJazeera: ....Australian fighters in Syria alarm officials.
The Australian government has confiscated passports in an effort to prevent attacks by returning fighters.
With estimates of up to 11,000 foreign fighters in Syria, Western powers are increasingly worried about the potential national security threat posed by returning fighters.
But in a country more than 14,000 kilometres from the frontline, Syria's civil war is also playing out in Australia's suburbs, with numerous beatings, assaults, shootings and property damage being reported along sectarian lines.
At the heart of the violence, which has predominantly been in Australia's two most populous cities, Sydney and Melbourne, are those for and against the Syrian government of President Bashar al-Assad.
More than 15 incidents of violence involving members of the Lebanese, Turkish and Syrian communities have been reported...........
Okay ... so, here are my raw calculations on how much money will go the rounds: As we know, Khadr is suing the Canadian govt. for $60 million Now, Khadr is being sued by the American widow and the soldier who lost his eye, for $ 45 million If we presume that both suits will be settled, Khadr still comes out on top.The drama in all this will be to see which suit is concluded before the other.
From CBC: Omar Khadr faces $45M suit by blinded U.S. soldier, widow 'We took his very own words,' lawyer says of suit based on Khadr's confession The widow of a U.S. special forces soldier killed in Afghanistan and an American soldier blinded by a grenade are suing Canada's Omar Khadr for close to $45 million, The Canadian Press has learned. In the lawsuit filed Thursday in Utah, Tabitha Speer and Sgt. Layne Morris allege Khadr, then 15, was responsible for the death of Sgt. Christopher Speer and Morris's injuries in July 2002. The factual basis for the suit, according to their lawyer, is Khadr's guilty plea to five war crimes before a U.S. military commission in Guantanamo Bay in October 2010 that saw him sentenced to a further eight years in prison. The plea deal included a stipulation of facts in which Khadr, now 27, admitted to murder and attempted murder in violation of the rule of war, and three other war crimes. "We took his own very words," lawyer Don Winder said in an interview from Salt Lake City. "We do not think there is any basis for his denial." The Toronto-born Khadr, currently incarcerated in the Bowden Institution in Innisfail, Alta., has since said he only pleaded guilty to get out of Guantanamo Bay and be returned to Canada........
