Ukraine on the brink of civil war

Personally, I still get the feeling that these protests are not grassroots. If they were grassroots, there would not be so much aggression nor this much damage. And, furthermore, the moment one single person died because of the protests, the protests would have ceased and the leaders of the opposition would have wanted a peaceful ending by meeting at the negotiations table.  Instead, the opposition leaders are seen in Germany signing agreements with Merkel.
