from other countries around the world for "people". I am unable to call these people, citizens of Canada, because that would be untrue. If you are holding an American passport + a Canadian one + an Iranian one .... what does that make you. Where exactly is your heart and your royalty ? Do you even know yourself ?
Then when you get in trouble in Syria and Syria deports you to their overlord Iran and all of a sudden our crazy news outlets, including SUN TV, go all bonkers talking about you. Are you expecting Canada or are you expecting America to bail you out ? Or are you quite happy being in the welcoming arms of Iran?
A friend tells me that this woman's father was interviewed by either CTV or CBC and when he was asked why his daughter had three passports or considers herself a citizen of 3 countries, the father retorted "Why not? Her mother is American and we are originally from Iran and we migrated to Canada" or words to that effect.
How come these Canadians of convenience have their feet in more than one boat. In the case of this Al Jazeera reporter, she has divided herself into 3 countries. Where does her royalties and those of her family really and truly lie. Is it America that holds their heart or is it Canada or is it Iran ? How can one tell?
It's about time Canada insisted that people applying for Canadian citizenship and a Canadian passport should first yield up their passport(s) of other countries. Anything else just does not make sense.
