All is good. The appointment of Salma Ataullahjan to the senate is a well thought out move. Originally from the Pashtun tribe of Pakistan, she will not only be a strong voice against any drivel about sharia and nonsense coming from nitwits like Barbara Hall, but will be able to educate Canadian women, because a large majority badly needs an education on muslim ways and culture. At least I hope she will have that item on her agenda.
She is in her 50s and I believe she is a real estate agent with her own business and is also the President of the Pashtun Cultural Centre in Toronto. She also happens to be an activist on behalf of injured children in Afghanistan (info not verified at this point in time.)

Rob Ford for Mayor of Toronto ...... Hip hip hooray and YAH
Yesterday's Toronto Sun had this to say: Councillor Rob Ford was shaking his fist at City Hall spending again Thursday. This time the mayoralty candidate was raging against an old cost he’s been trying to trim since 2001 — City Hall plant watering. Ford is livid the city spends $77,000 a year to have someone go around the Queen St. W. building watering every city-owned plant.
“I try to get rid of it every year and I can’t get rid of it,” Ford said, talking like a gardener talks about a weed that keeps coming back. “There is never a drought here at City Hall!”
The plant watering cost was the latest spending shot Ford took as part of his run to replace outgoing Mayor David Miller. Ford’s campaign team say he’ll be putting out a City Hall waste watch item each day as part of a new website he launched this week, respectfortaxpayers.com.
“(Spending) is the number one issue I hear about when I’m out campaigning,” Ford said. The Etobicoke councillor said he sees an employee watering plants, usually in the morning at City Hall. He said the employee checks each plant for a label for proof its a city plant and then, if there is a label, gives the plant a drink of water.“If you bring your own plant from home, she doesn’t water it,” Ford said. “It’s just another example of wasting taxpayers’ money.”.........“They (the councillors) laugh and giggle at me,” Ford said. “But the average taxpayer isn’t laughing, that’s for sure.” ....
Here's another example of what the city councillors do with our money: Council speaker Sandra Bussin ruled out of order Wednesday a motion to make Kyle Rae pay back the $12,000 he spent on his farewell party — calling it well within the councillor’s rights to use taxpayer money to fete himself.
“The expenses incurred by Councillor Rae were permitted by the council expense policy,” Bussin said in response to a motion by Councillor Rob Ford. She said Rae relied on advice from the city clerk prior to throwing the party — held June 7 outside his ward at the tony Rosewater Supper Club — and “proceeded in good faith” after being advised that charging the party to his $50,000 office budget was in keeping with the expense policy adopted in 2008......

Compare and Contrast .... Canada's Sense and Sensibility v/s America's stupidity
On July 7, 2010, Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced $20 Million in funding for AIMS which is an institute targeting bright young genuises from Africa to reach their potential and in so doing bring Africa out of the shit-hole it has been languishing in for centuries.
At the announcement of this funding, the PM stated: "History shows that our world becomes safer, healthier and more stable through advances made in science and technology. Humanity's ascent from ignorance and barbarism to enlightenment and equality has been a fitful and uneven process. If there is, however, a universal constant in human affairs, it is that the expansion of knowledge and technology has continuously made life better for more people. That's why our government is supporting scientific and technological research, as well as development at home and abroad."....
And what did the idol of those who see unicorns and rainbows and Lucy in the sky with diamonds give to people who do not need the largess heaped on them? You really can't make this stuff up, really you can't ! On June 9, 2010, the dumbo in the WH pledged $400 million to the palestinians. Yup .... you read that right. Can anybody really have any doubts about Obama's covert anti-semitism? This man who went the extra mile to hide his true religious beliefs while he was running for the presidency, now gives all those sheeple who voted for him the middle finger and gives it with his ever-so-charming smile. The goal of anyone heaping funds and goods and screaming their lungs out on behalf of palestinians.... is a very simple one. They want to empower the enemy of their enemy.
And, that's not all. The $400 Million is over and beside the $900 Million that was pledged to the palestinians in early 2009. All in all, the United States of Amusement has pledged more than 3 BILLION to the palestinians. And, we wonder why our neighbours are going under ! The idiots are funding terrorists to buy weaponry with which they can create more strife in that part of the world.
Oh, BTW ... media like the Ottawa Citizen had approximately 50 words to say about our PM's announcement in Waterloo, Ont. Any bets how many thousands of words, of PRAISE no less, would have been jumping out of that rotten rag if by chance the funds had been directed towards Gaza? I didn't bother to check what the CBC or CTV or other media had to say about the funding to AIMS... if PM Harper has done a sensible thing, then it is not newsworthy to the socialist rags and the socialist TV channels.

When an Arab talks any sense .....
you have to wonder if he is really an Arab. Maybe survival instincts have come to the fore for the murderous Sunni nations around Israel. However, they want Israel to do all the dirty work for putting Iran out of commission while they are magnanimous in their approval of the military action. Notice, that he does not mention Israel, not once. He wants USA to attack Iran. Man....oh.....man. Unbelievable. The cheek of this UAE ambassador to the USA is in this bold statement:

There are writers and then there are philosophers
Thomas Sowell is both and extraordinarily so. It's a pleasure to read Sowell because one can always come away thinking "wow... I never thought of that in that context, now some more fog has been lifted from my brain cells....wow." Yes, I admit, I am one of Dr.Sowell's unabashed groupies.
People who remember the old comic strip "Peanuts" will recall an often repeated situation where Lucy offers to hold a football for Charlie Brown to kick. Then, as Charlie coming running up to kick it, Lucy snatches away the ball and Charlie Brown loses his balance and goes crashing on his backside.
The reason this same scene remained funny, despite how often it was repeated, is that in the later repetitions Charlie Brown would express suspicion at Lucy, recalling how she had tricked him before. She would then come up with some claim that she wasn't going to do that any more-- and of course she did.....

This bloc invariably votes for the party or candidates that will extend public benefits and raise taxes. The reality in New York is that the extension of public expenditures has driven private capital out of the state and possibly out of existence. While it is assumed the Democratic party is culpable of fiscal irresponsibility, a claim that is clearly justified, the Republicans under Governor George Pataki and the majority in the State Senate, have been just as irresponsible....

perish the thought and come meet the Numero Uno Ranter himself. An American friend of mine sent me a link to a Canadian writer and said "thank God for you Canadians. At least your press is not controlled by Obama." I didn't have the heart to tell him about the Obama worshippers at the CBC, CTV, the Toronto Star, the Globe & Mail and almost every other newspaper you soil your hands with.

Jeffrey Simpson has written such a crappy idiotic column in the Globe and Mail, he richly deserves the wallops he is getting from the Americans. Matt Drudge must have snorted loudly and angrily and proceeded to link to Simpson's crapola just so his readers get to chew on some leftie Canadian meat. The fireworks going on now at the G&M are fun to read. Imagine writing that Obama is "the most gifted President in several generations". Simpson must be a ultra-left leftie. Will the Govt. stop funding the Pride Parade now?
74% say "I don't take part in Pride festivities" So.... would you say it is logical to assume that Mayor Miller, Police Chief Blair and Premier McGuinity are spending taxpayers' money on themselves, right? All for looking at scantily clad bodies gyrating in the streets in an obscene and depraved fashion. A gay man I have known for years says that the only time he is ashamed to be openly gay is during the Pride Parade week. Hear that? Normal, decent, ordinary hard working gays don't want to push their sexual preferences into our faces.
Why can't we put this issue to a referendum and see if the general public want to see these parades continue to exist or if we can pull the plug and let NGOs and the gays themselves support this vile behaviour in our streets? Pride Parade is nothing to be Proud of when you have hatemongers amongst you
If you are furious with the gutless organizers of the Pride Toronto regarding their recent reversal on their commitment to deter the dumbest queers in Canada, the Queers Against Israel Apartheid, from their hatemongering and their propaganda tactics against Israel, then here's a list of councillors to write to or telephone. These Councillors will not know how we feel about the organizers' decision unless we contact them. Bear in mind that the unreasonable hatred that the Left and the muslims have for Israel and the Jewish people makes them very hyperactive and vocal in their quest to see the destruction of both. For every email or phone call that we make on Israel's behalf, there will be 5 who will be doing the exact opposite. However, send your email or call up the councillors and you will know that you did your part for something that you know to be right and just. What the QAIA are doing is called hatemongering and don't be fooled by anyone telling you that they are exercising their "right to free speech".
It would be a good thing if the Gay Pride Parade is done away with altogether or the funding is completely taken away. However, we can work on that goal at a later date. Right now, do your good deed for today and start cracking on the email. Just one email addressing the entire list will suffice.

It could be that the Russians are just saying this to raise a stink because of the recent spy drama. However, if true, this is BIG trouble. This report is from the iReport at CNN which has not been verified.
...According to Sagalevich’s report, the oil leaking into the Gulf of Mexico is not just coming from the 22 inch well bore site being shown on American television, but from at least 18 other sites on the “fractured seafloor” with the largest being nearly 11 kilometers (7 miles) from where the Deepwater Horizon sank and is spewing into these precious waters an estimated 2 million gallons of oil a day.
Interesting to note in this report is Sagalevich stating that he and the other Russian scientists were required by the United States to sign documents forbidding them to report their findings to either the American public or media, and which they had to do in order to legally operate in US territorial waters.....

Faster, faster England... faster please
The sooner you shariah yourself completely the better for Canada and the USA. We will have two advantages. 1) Hopefully the radical muslims from here will migrate over there as they will have their very own shariah kingdom on Christian soil... a truly big victory for muslims. 2) The powers-that-be at this end and the other dhimmis will get to see what happens when a Christian country goes under islamic shariah laws and that should open their eyes as nothing else will.
Atlas Shrugs has managed to get a vid which shows how the Left, vileful haters of Israel and anything Jewish, join forces with muslims to find and destroy goods from Israel at a Tesco supermarket.
I have seen such incidents first hand in France. I was in Paris in late 2006 and was in a supermarket when a similar incident occured. From almost nowhere, more than half a dozen rowdy middle eastern men entered the small narrow supermarket and started sweeping stuff from the shelves unto a cart. They took the cart outside and tore open the packages and strewed the contents all over the pavement. What an extraordinary and ferocious scene that was. I was told by the security man, who looked like a middle eastern guy himself, that the goods taken were Israeli and there was a boycott on Israeli goods. While the hooligans were raiding the Israeli goods, the security guard did nothing, nada, nil. Just watched them cooly.
Be afraid people. Never take your freedom for granted. If you don't defend it now, then you don't deserve it.

The Queerest case of the Dumbest Queers in Canada
Now let's compare just ONE tree's worth during it's lifetime to these POSs who contaminate the streets of Toronto during the Gay Pride Parade. Why do we even need to have such "added" depravity in our streets is a wonder to me, don't we have enough shootings and rapes and what not ... but I digress. This particular rant is to do with the Dumbest Queers aka QAIA and not the other ones, however misguided or not they happen to be, to willfully march in the depravity known as the Gay Pride Parade... which the city's mayor and the city's police chief dutifully attend and march in, carrying tissue boxes to clean up the gays' .... you know what.
These dumbest of the dumb mammals who find themselves walking on two legs and not four, were so ecstatic that they were able to reverse the Pride Toronto organizers' decision letting them march carrying banners calling Israeli an apartheid state, that they boasted in writing with this statement:
“This is a victory for the Palestine solidarity movement, which has faced censorship and bullying tactics from the Israel lobby for far too long,” says Tim McCaskell, a member of Queers Against Israeli Apartheid. “The Israel lobby learned a tough lesson today about our community’s proud history of standing up to censorship and human rights abuses.”
And you know what else is hilarious? This will bring out an involuntary snort ... so mind your coffee lest you spill stuff on the keyboard. Right at the top of their website they have a banner proclaiming: "We stand with Queers in Palestine " This is as funny as Iamamadjacket saying "We don't have any homosexuals in Iran".
Now, let's think for a tiny little nano second here. Do you think the gays in Gaza want to advertise that they are gay? Maybe, in Fatah controlled West Bank the gays are not heavily persecuted.... but in Gaza? At their website they have a logo that, IMO, looks like a used condom with the colors of the Hamas flag... albeit the bright red of the terrorist flag is substituted with a glaring pink. Is it so very difficult for these dumb f**ks to grasp that gays from Gaza, the West Bank and the other muslim regimes around Israel will do anything to become citizens of Israel. In Israel, gays serve openly in the military and have the best of lives. In the muslim regimes around Israel, when gays fall in the "wrong hands", their penises are cut off and fed to them while they are still alive. When they fall in the "right hands".... which translates to the laws of the region... they are hanged from telephone poles and anything high and handy that can make the gay bodies dance gayly until they are dead and all this to the beat of "Allahu Akbar... Allahu Akbar"
I fully agree with Ken who commented here after the press were all very gleeful that the censorship against QAIA had been lifted.

Kill the Gay Pride Parade. We don't need it. It's a sex show and nothing more. Normal gays, who are not partiers and drug takers and other substance abusers, never ever participate in this depraved show. Shame on parents who take their kids to watch this depravity. Don't let your own suppressed desires for a taste of depravity trickle down to your offspring. Keep them away from this rubbish and set a good example by not attending it yourself.

All these malcontents who are not happy with Canada, should be rounded up and sent off to Saudi Arabia and Iran. The prison guards there will have a feast....lucky them. BTW, does anyone know when the Province of Quebec are putting in their resignation papers to tear away from the rest of us? Do they need help in the drafting of same? Police said there were no injuries from the explosion as the centre was closed when it happened around 3 a.m.
Police confirmed that a bomb threat was received about 20 minutes before the blast. No one has claimed responsibility....

Affirmative Action = dumbing down society
I sincerely hope Canada does not use this extremely foolish tool of the Left. I believe a number of NDP MPs were jumping around some months back trying to push this sort of madness into our legislature. How can people, be they black, brown, white, yellow, blue or green, be content and happy with diplomas and degrees, that they know in their heart of hearts, were bestowed upon them only because of their color and ethnicity and not because of how they used what's in their God-given brains. How can such people function with efficiency and confidence in their professions, knowing that there are far better people all around them who are better qualified, better fitted and definitely more capable of doing the job that their government has seen fit to give them even though they are less competent, less qualified, less everything. What a totally twisted, mad, mad, mad world we live in ! The following comment linked from here shows how unfair and totally wrong affirmative action has proven to be. This is what I would term a "human rights violation".
As an asian, I can testify to this data. I applied to med school this past year, had three interviews, but was not accepted anywhere. I had a 31 MCAT (about average for a matriculant) and 3.51 GPA. I have a black friend from college with roughly the same GPA, but a 24 on his MCAT (which is considered very low), who got into med school. It's extremely difficult to get in if you're Asian, much easier if you're black or hispanic.
