The wide band comprises of 9 forest regions and differentiates from each other based on terrain, soil, climate,etc. The Forest is home to thousands of wildlife species and is one of the largest intact forest and wetland ecosystems on earth. It has countless lakes and rivers with an abundance of fish. It is a nesting ground for billions of songbirds and waterfowl, large carnivores like bears, wolves and lynx along with thousands of other species of plants, insects and mammals. There is an uproar going on all over the blogosphere and the MSM about the latest Canadian citizen's sob story and after reading pages and pages of that and hearing the gesturing lady talk about it with the lawyer who keeps on taking breaks on his City TV program, boy am I beat ?! Where is our perception of things all-encompassing? Are we only concerned about "hardships" that are meted out to Canadians? Just because we have been lucky enough to be labelled Canadians, does that mean that people who are not Canadians do not deserve even a thought from us? Very few of us seem to be casting our gaze outwards and towards other countries that are blatantly burying human rights deep into the ground, right in front of our noses, and we do nothing, and much worse, we say nothing. Christians are being slaughtered in Nigeria, Kenya, Sudan, Somalia, Egypt and Pakistan in their thousands and what do we do? We keep talking about Canadian Rights this and Canadian Rights that and Canadian Rights everywhere. I thought blogs were supposed to talk about things that the MSM did not. Looks like I am mistaken, sadly mistaken. Conservative bloggers should know by now that the Left is never going to bring to light the plight of Christians in Muslim countries. If at all they do, it will be in a degree so minuscule, you could compare it to an ant crawling at the top-section of Mount Everest and you are at the bottom of the mount looking up hoping to see it. I am trying to finish reading "Triple Cross" as it is long overdue at the library. Determined to finish it by tonight. I let go of it for a few days and lost myself in "Late Nights on Air" by Elizabeth Hay, a riveting story set in Yellowknife and the canoe trip taken by the main characters will make you feel like you are canoeing with them. Read it, you won't be disappointed. I have written to a German documentary maker for permission to use his mini-documentary in my blog. It is about canoeing in the Yukon, you will love it. I hope he gives his permission. I am being patriotic and trying to read more Canadian authors. Please pick up a Rohinton Mistry and take a glimpse into the lives of Zoroastrian Indians from the singing language of a writer who has perfected the art of bringing a lump to your throat. One of my dearly loved sisters-in-law was a Zoroastrian before converting to Catholicism, and I can relate to and understand the many great tales Mistry can weave like the master he is. I suspect Mistry is a leftie, but never mind, read him. And now on THAT: Long ago I had read SYBIL by Flora somebody and the main character Sybil, suffers from Dissociative disorder. Sybil had a multitude of other personalities but there was a common thread in all her horde of different characters. I have been getting a number of comments to various items posted in my blog, and most of the comments although they all have different names, on closer scrutiny seem to be coming from two or three main sources. It is easy to find the thread that links these comments to one another, once you know what you are looking for. I read up on what causes people with multiple personalities to unravel and what happens when they start unravelling. I had no idea that my blog and the items therein had the power to unravel persons with dissociative disorders. I truly do not want to be responsible for someone jumping off a tall building or a bridge, even though in some cases, the end result would justify the means. I would also not want someone being put in a strait jacket and hauled off to some unknown madhouse never to be seen or heard from again. I believe the exact cause of multiple personality disorder is largely unknown, but it is widely known to afflict people who have experienced child abuse. Multiple personality disorder crops up in such people as an attempt to cope with their everyday dull and totally futile lives. Many a time it has been revealed that children hide the trauma of sexual abuse for decades on end and in their adulthood are easily recognizable by the extreme vileness they display towards people that have not been abused in childhood or never ever, people they perceive to be happy and leading a life that they have never been given a chance to live. Instead of actually laying the blame at the feet of the actual perpetrators of the crime they suffered in childhood, they channel that blame and hatred onto the people that they see to be without a care in the world, in other words, they hate people who are happy. The question they keep asking is: Why are you happy when I am miserable? Should such people be treated with understanding because they lead utterly miserable lives or should I just crush them like I do the insects I find on my roses ? That is the question. The person(s) who thought up this extremely stupid idea is a male chauvinist Muslim or a male chauvinist who has taken advice from other male chauvinists or maybe the big honcho himself, Afghanistan's misogynistic president has given his suggestion on how females should dress up whether in military or otherwise. The women who are obeying this rule are like the women who get beaten up by their spouses and instead of standing up to them, keep asking for more. IMO they are more stupid than their male chauvinistic superiors who thought up this "stealth jihad" manoeuvre. I would have preferred to be court-martialled rather than show such degrading submission. If I hear that our own military women in Afghanistan are following suit, I will personally collect a battalion of women from Toronto and march upon Ottawa and keeping a tight lid on nausea rising into my mouth, I will even join up with the Left to bring all our units home pronto. What a horribly disgraceful move. The US is sinking into a deeper and dirtier cesspool, much sooner than we thought it would. Our Canadian Treasures - Lake of the Woods, Ontario

To me, the name of this lake, sounds so mysterious and so exotic. Lake of the Woods got its name because it sprawls some 3000 sq km over wooded areas of northwestern Ontario. You are not going to believe this, I myself thought I needed to pay a visit to an optometrist when I saw this figure - over 14,000, yes over 14,000 islands are scattered all around and inside this lake. Most of the islands are only tiny little sandy areas but some are big enough to be little towns and have sandy beaches and shorelines. This is the 6th largest lake of Ontario. First Nations people have been the inhabitants of this area for well over 8000 years. Hudson Bay used to have a trading post on the Lake of the Woods in an area which is now known as Kenora and Kenora is a city that has become a hot tourist destination in Ontario, especially if you are into hunting and fishing. Lake of the Woods also hugs the town of Sioux Narrows where the legendary battle between the invading Sioux and the local Cree and Ojibway was fought. Here's a poem I found by an American poet Thomas R.Smith from his book of poetry "The Dark Indigo Current" The Road to Kenora Fifty miles above the border I began to notice them, five or six granite rocks piled in roughly human shapes every few hundred feet. All afternoon I'd pressed northward along Lake of the Woods, and now, months after the funeral, felt unaccompanied by my father for the first time. I mourned the misty, pine- crested islands he would , never see, as I steered over gravel in the darkening rain. The violence against Christians in Indonesia is escalating at a break-neck speed. There's no value in advocating on behalf of Christians in Muslim countries, no political value at all. So why give a damn. It is indeed a sad, sad world, when we play politics from dawn to dusk and even in our sleep. I would like to know if the Canadian political parties are going to get together and send out a strong message to the Indonesian Govt to take firm steps to stop this ongoing massacre in a country that is 95% Muslim. I have not seen anything in the media that anyone in our Government has taken such a step as yet. RCMP media release of laser lights flashed into cockpits

I hope they catch these low-life as soon as possible. Kelowna RCMP are investigating 2 separate incidents from August 10, 2009 , where a laser light was flashed into the cockpit of two commercial flights. The incidents occurred at 8:45 and 10:20 PM while the flights were on approach to land at Kelowna International Airport. Kelowna RCMP and the Airport would like to remind the public it is a criminal offence under the Aeronautics Act to aim a directed bright light source into the cockpit of an aircraft as it creates a hazard to aviation safety. If convicted of aiming a laser light into the cockpit of an aircraft, the maximum penalty under the Aeronautics Act is $100,000, imprisonment of up to five years or both.
