Ukraine fiasco .... Update 2.... March 1

There's so  much on the topic on twitter and the internet, your head can go into a spin in less than a few minutes.  Suffice to say, the West has once again interfered in the affairs of another country where they really shouldn't have and if they take this dangerous situation even a step further we are going to be in WW3.  Make no mistake about that. The ball is in the clown courts of the West.

.... U.S. President Barack Obama and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon have told Russia President Vladimir Putin to back off. Earlier today, Obama reportedly had a 90-minute conversation with Putin.

The U.S. president also spoke with French President Francois Hollande and Prime Minister Stephen Harper, later releasing a statement saying the leaders had agreed that they were gravely concerned with Russia’s intervention in Ukraine.

After meeting with cabinet ministers in Ottawa on Saturday afternoon, Harper issued the following statement:“We join our allies in condemning in the strongest terms President Putin’s military intervention in Ukraine. These actions are a clear violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. They are also in violation of Russia’s obligations under international law. Canada recognizes the legitimacy of the Government of Ukraine. Ukraine’s sovereign territory must be respected and the Ukrainian people must be free to determine their own future. We call on President Putin to immediately withdraw his forces to their bases and refrain from further provocative and dangerous actions.
“Canada has suspended its engagement in preparations for the G-8 Summit, currently planned for Sochi, and the Canadian Ambassador in Moscow is being recalled for consultations. Canada supports the immediate deployment of international monitors from the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to Ukraine. We are also engaged in discussions aimed at developing a financial aid package for Ukraine.
“We will continue to cooperate closely with our G-7 partners and other allies. Should President Putin continue on this course of action, it will lead to ongoing negative consequences for our bilateral relationship.”

Ukraine says it has   put its army on full combat alert after Russia's parliament approved the deployment of Russian troops to Ukraine.
Acting President Olexander Turchynov said he had also stepped up security at key sites, including nuclear plants.....



Pro-Russia protesters    'tear up Ukrainian flag' in Donetsk.  Pro-Russian protesters gathered at regional administration building sin Donetsk earlier today, local news outlet Vse Novosti said.
Protesters "tore up the Ukrainian flag" according to reports, and raised the Russian flag on the flagpole, and attempted to scale the building.....
