PM Harper's speech to the UN .... at least a small part of it

I found some part of the speech at CTV ... wait a second or two after the first couple of minutes to access the first part of the speech.  If at all I need to watch something, I switch to CTV but never to CBC.  CTV is lesser of the two evils by a long stretch.

Did anybody see what the Vancouver SUN had at their online site?  I will not even link to them.  Suffice to say, that they are totally bent to the Left and gave more time to Jack Layton then to the PM's address.  Why was that needed  ???????    Shame on Global TV and shame on Vancouver SUN.  Is the Vancouver SUN a part of SUN TV... what's going on?????????    Is it any wonder that we need an unbiased TV channel that will not be slanted so much to the Left that they have almost toppled to the ground, shamelessly?

media release from PM's office    Prime Minister Stephen Harper today participated in the 65th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York where he reiterated Canada’s commitment to the Organization’s founding principles and highlighted Canada’s ongoing efforts to help achieve these goals on the world stage.

In his address, the Prime Minister noted the founding principles of the United Nations to settle disputes peacefully, seek justice and uphold the rights of all people. He also highlighted a range of Canada’s international actions and commitments that reflect the United Nations Charter, including our participation in the United Nations-mandated, NATO-led mission in Afghanistan; our reconstruction efforts in Haiti; our contributions to peace and security in Africa; our doubling of aid to Africa; our Muskoka Initiative for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health; and our continuing support of the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

The Prime Minister noted that “while the UN’s mission has grown over time its core job remains the same – through peace and development to build a better world. To prevent war and conflict, yet at the same time, to uphold what is right, and to protect the weak and the poor from those who prey upon them. The Government of Canada has always been deeply committed to these objectives and the organization that elevates them. It remains so today.”.............

  1. The second part of his speech for some mysterious reason won't load, but you can hear all of Obama's speech. CTV does this really often, pretending you can watch the video, but blocking it from viewers. We need to call them on it every time they do it.

They are too busy yapping about us NOT getting a spot on the Security Council and how empty the room was to actually show their support for CANADA. The problem is that I am forced to pay for their channel and they get money no matter whether I watch it or not.

The CRTC needs to go the way of the DoDo (pardon the pun) bird!!

  2. Hunter .... if you had watched the little clip of Global's at the Vancouver Sun you would have got madder.
It is an extremely sad thing for the entire country that the country's PM gives a speech and none of the TV channels pick it up but instead give coverage to the USA's prez. Amazing how the lefties can hate their own country to that extent.

To top it all they have the audacity to report on how most delegates were out to lunch and the PM spoke to an almost empty auditorium.... how can a country's people find satisfaction in reporting something like that?
