Why is the West so hell-bent on destroying itself? Why do we want to come off as angels in a war that has only demons as opponents? People like me cannot understand how and why the Left is prosecuting our own rather than applauding their actions. I stand firmly behind our own Canadian soldiers and those of our neighbour and strongest ally, the USA.
The thinking public in the USA too, like many of us here in Canada, cannot understand how the Navy Seals are accused of giving a terrorist a FAT LIP for which they are now facing court-martial for this nonsensical non-crime. What complete insanity is this? People of the future, maybe 100 years from now, will be amazed at the kind of actions the Western countries took which hastened their demise. Because, one thing is sure as sure can be. We are going down and going down defeated by barbarians who are aided by the Left.
Two Republican lawmakers are seeking to have charges dropped against three Navy SEALs facing court-martial for accusations of abusing a terror suspect arrested for an ambush killing of U.S. contractors in Iraq.
The SEALs -- Special Warfare Operators 2nd Class Matthew McCabe and Jonathan Keefe and Special Warfare Operator 1st Class Julio Huertas -- were part of a team that in September 2009 captured Ahmed Hashim Abed, the Al Qaeda terrorist behind the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA contractors in Fallujah in 2004.
The contractors' bodies were burned and left hanging from a bridge. The image came to symbolize the rise of Al Qaeda in Iraq and the brutality of the enemy Americans face there.
McCabe is accused of punching Abed in the stomach and giving him a bloody lip during the arrest.

We need to hold a public inquiry because a Taliban fighter claims he was hit by a shoe. Richard Colvin said in his testimony "I never saw a prisoner in a cell" but based on hearsay from Taliban loyalists we need to accuse our soldiers of committing war crimes.
