You don't have to be a Conservative MP to speak the truth

I love it when a clear-headed person who has the misfortunate of being in a party other than the Conservative, comes out and speaks like us, the majority in Canada.  MP Joe Volpe of the Liberal party is just such a person. His take on anti-Semitism in Canada's universities hits the mark. Why is it that other MPs  in the opposition parties don't see these things for what they are?  Why is it that they prefer to keep silent only because they think they do not want to sound more like the Conservatives?  Why is it that they dance around the subject of anti-Semitism and call it free speech?  By avoiding the truth they  are betraying their own selves just so they can  keep up with the knuckleheads in their own party.

Thank you for setting a good example that others in your party should  follow, Mr.Volpe. We all know that this hateful behaviour in our universities and elsewhere have to stop.  The sooner the better.

Canadian universities have become “hotbeds of anti-Israel activity” where Jewish students face intimidation, a Toronto MP told the House of Commons on Tuesday.

Joe Volpe — whose Toronto riding is home to the rabbi at the centre of a public row with York University — said “anti-Semitism cannot be tolerated, especially under the cloak of free speech.” The Liberal MP condemned the university, which has since requested a meeting with the rabbi, for what he called a “dreadful way to deal with those who oppose hatred.”

Last week, the National Post first reported that York University issued a letter to Rabbi Aaron Hoch, warning him he could face legal action if he continued to spread “defamatory” remarks about the school’s president and did not stop encouraging non-students to protest former British MP George Galloway’s speech on-campus....
