That's what lefties do, folks. In their world, their opinions and their opinions alone are the truth and nothing but the truth. Your meaning of your kind of morals and your kind of etiquette are not found in their dictionaries.

"Rushdie should not be surprised with Stewart's hypocrisy and indifference re Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam. Stewart is a cookie cutter moral relativist Leftist, smug, self-righteous and clueless. This is a "Jew" who drops his Jewish surname, Leibowitz for Stewart to 'fit in better', so if he's prepared to sell his birthright to ingratiate himself with a leftwing audience partial to anti-Semitism, why be surprised at his indifference to Yusuf's Muslim radicalism? Stewart is ashamed of his Jewish heritage (why else drop his obviously Jewish surname?), unlike Cohen who keeps his surname even though he isn't Jewish. Stewart is more representative of a strong strain within New York "Jewry" than most anybody realizes. Assimmilation at all costs, even if that means selling your heritage down the river. Pathetic, cowardly and disgusting."

Some might suggest that the fact that Mr.Stevens / Yousef has always maintained that he does not support vigilantism or the fatwa regarding Mr. Rushdie and the fact that when his comments were misinterpreted, he very quickly sought to clarify his position as not supporting violence might be relevant, but they'd only be using lefty facts, which are biased.
ReplyDeleteWhat matters is that Stevens switched faiths and Stewart cowardly hides his, which makes them traitors and a blasphemers, and means that they are clearly lying when they say they don't support violence against innocent people. You might not find that in any lefty encyclopedia, but as Maria says, they just leaving things out that don't fit with their kind of morals or etiquette.
There's hope for you Audrey... atta girl. Those rose-colored lefty contacts are so outdated, throw them out and use your own eyes.
