A federal jury this afternoon convicted Sarah Palin e-mail intruder David C. Kernell of felony destruction of records to hamper a federal investigation and misdemeanor unlawfully obtaining information from a protected computer.
However, the jury acquitted him of Felony Wire Fraud. A mistrial on the fourth charge of Felony Identity Theft was declared because jurors were hopelessly deadlocked. Sentencing has not been announced as yet. Could be anywhere between 1 to 25 years. Sarah Palin comments on the verdict

Watched Greta (Fox News) interview Sarah Palin earlier this week on the trial. It was mildly disturbing that she thought the hacker should be given a break because of his age. It was a deliberate act and he was out to cause major mischief. I think he fully knew and understood the havoc he could cause and wanted his "15 minutes of fame". Well 22 years of age and infamy has been achieved.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have been as forgiving as Palin. No way. Invasion of privacy is a crime. Maybe Palin was thinking of her own kids, especially the daughter whom she forgave and supported when she did the "unthinkable" in their strict upbringing family environment.
