A Mississauga man accused of murdering his wife will appear in Brampton court on Wednesday, when it's expected he'll be found not criminally responsible for the killing due to mental illness. Crown and defence lawyers will ask that Shafqat Nagra, 41, be found not criminally responsible for the Jan. 11, 2007 slaying of Nabila Asifa, 36, a mother of four. The formal application is to be made this week before Justice Bruce Durno. The matter has already been postponed a few times due to legal issues.Yup, this latest "not criminally responsible" sweetheart has a lot in common with Martin Rondeau and Vincent Li. Remember them? Once the mental institution overlords find that these "not criminally responsible" killers are fit to go forth and walk amongst us, they might become your next door neighbours or the passengers sitting next to you on a Greyhound bus like Li. Nice, eh?! Only in Canada.
Our legal system is a joke but only the criminals and those deemed "not criminally responsible" are laughing.
