More than 1 million children, according to the International Labour Organization, are exploited each year in the commercial sex trade. IndyStar columnist Tim Swarens, through the support of a Society of Professional Journalists fellowship, spent more than a year investigating a lucrative business where children are abused with low risk to buyers or traffickers, despite tougher laws and heightened international awareness of the scourge. Google, Eli Lilly and Co., and Indiana Wesleyan University provided additional support for this project.

POLICE investigating an alleged pedophile ring at Westminster have told the family of a missing boy he may be one of the three children claimed to have been murdered by establishment figures.
Martin Allen, the son of the Australian high commissioner’s chauffeur, went missing in 1979, aged 15. His brother, Kevin, 51, has said he was called on Friday by Detective Chief Inspector Diane Tudway of the Metropolitan police, who said she was investigating whether Martin’s disappearance was linked to an alleged VIP ring.
Operation Midland, the investigation into the deaths, was set up this month. Officers said intelligence from Operation Fairbank, which is looking into whether high-profile figures were involved in organised child sex abuse in the 1970s and 80s, suggested that murders had taken place.
A man known as Nick, who said he was abused by MPs and establishment figures, had alleged he saw three boys being murdered by the pedophile network. He said one was deliberately run over, a second was strangled by a Conservative MP and the third was killed in front of a government minister.
The case of Martin Allen’s disappearance was closed in the 80s, but reopened in 2009 and shut again last year. Mr Allen and his brother, Jeffrey, 61, have described how police said in 2009 the files had been destroyed in a flood.
“We had to give evidence over again to the police,” Mr Allen said. “But then later, when the case was still open, the two detectives on it told us that a retired police officer had withdrawn the files and gone to Spain.

As many as three boys were killed by the ring's members, he alleges.

Paediatrician admits string of child sex offences
A doctor who worked in paediatrics in hospitals across Greater Manchester has admitted a string of child sex offences.
Raza Laskar, 32, of Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, pleaded guilty to 31 charges including sexual activity with a child and possessing extreme pornography.
The offences were against 12 boys under the age of 16, with his victims based in the UK and abroad.
Police were alerted to Laskar when more than 1,600 files suspected to contain indecent photographs of children were made available on a file-sharing website between Christmas Day last year and January 27.
An IP address was linked to Laskar's home.
After searching the 32-year-old's property, officers found more than 1.2 million images and videos of the doctor engaging in sexual acts with a child in a hotel room.......

The reports are almost unbelievable – and certainly not for the squeamish. They describe a ring of vicious sex traffickers who preyed on adolescent girls and operated with impunity for years, as authorities deliberately ignored and even covered up the evidence.
Among the victims was Amy, a young girl who was groomed for sex by some exciting new friends she’d made in the big city. They showed her a good time and made her feel special. By the time she was 14, she had been raped and abused repeatedly by at least six adults in their late teens and early 20s. She went to the police, who ignored her. Her parents begged for help, in vain. Social workers and police treated her like a “stupid, naughty girl,” she told the Times of London.
Amy was just one of at least 1,400 girls who were groomed and raped over two decades in Rotherham, a grim postindustrial town in northern England. Most of the victims were working-class. They were typically 12 to 14 when they were lured into a life of drugs, alcohol and abuse. Nearly all the abusers were Muslim men of Pakistani origin.
Britain has had more than its share of sex scandals lately. But this one is by far the most disturbing. It has shaken the country to the core, and prompted searching questions about the role of “cultural sensitivity” in covering up the abuse. And it has raised wider issues about Muslim integration into British life.
“Men of Pakistani heritage treated white girls like toilet paper,” columnist Allison Pearson wrote in The Telegraph. But authorities tried to bury the problem because they were afraid of being labelled racist, or that it might cost them votes. Front-line workers who tried to get police and bureaucrats to act were repeatedly harassed and intimidated. One researcher who had gathered extensive evidence was told she must “never, ever” refer to the ethnicity of the abusers. Her report was suppressed, and she was sent on a diversity course........

William Hague sharing hotel with his male aide? It should be a storm in a complimentary teacup but it is a real threat to the Foreign Secretary’s career. The lewd imputation made by bloggers is that twin beds might have been pushed together and that the aide’s appointment was due to favouritism. Everyone recognises, when they are pressed to be sensible about it, that people who share a bedroom or even a bed might not be in a relationship. That won’t help him at all......

Hague is a supporter of the mass murder of children and other innocent civilians by NATO bombing in Libya and by NATO-US-British armed-and-trained ‘rebels’ in Syria. He’d also bomb kids in Iran if he thought he could get away with it.
Hague was the Secretary of State for Wales when he set up the pathetic excuse for an ‘inquiry’ into the abuse at the Welsh children’s homes and he was leader of the Conservative Party when the ‘inquiry’ reported its ‘findings’ (cover-up).
When is he going to be questioned about what he knew with regard to the prominent people, including members of his own party, named at the inquiry but not allowed to be made public because of a ban imposed by the very ‘inquiry’ that he set up?

The then leader of the Conservative Party did not know that senior members of the Conservative Party were being named by victims – and what about other leading Conservatives at the time like Peter Lilley and Michael Portillo? What did they know?......

The Foreign Secretary,William Hague, was forced to issue an extraordinary public statement yesterday denying that he was gay, after his special adviser and long-term friend resigned over "untrue and malicious" rumours about the relationship between the two men.
A day of high political drama brought the departure of Chris Myers and a statement from Mr Hague remarkable for its detail about his marital life.
As the media concentrated on the fresh wounds opened within Labour by the publication of Tony Blair's memoirs, news broke that 25-year-old Mr Myers had left his job......
That would mean politicians during Margaret Thatcher's residency at No.10. The politicians suspected to be in the ring, are/were from all three parties.

MPs or peers from all three main political parties are on the list, which includes former ministers and household names.
Several, including Cyril Smith and Sir Peter Morrison, are no longer alive, but others are still active in Parliament. The existence of the list was disclosed by Peter McKelvie, the whistleblower whose claims prompted Operation Fernbridge, the Scotland Yard investigation into allegations of a paedophile network with links to Downing Street.

And the Daily Mail reports it, plus another angle, with “Cameron orders a probe into VIP child sex abuse – but only seven detectives are investigating explosive claims”

The former Conservative cabinet minister Lord Tebbit has said he believes there "may well" have been a political cover-up over child abuse in the 1980s.
Norman Tebbit, who served in a series of ministerial posts under Margaret Thatcher, said the instinct of people at the time was to protect "the system" and not to delve too deeply into uncomfortable allegations.
His comment came as the Home Office announced a fresh legal review into what happened to a file alleging paedophile activity at Westminster in the 1980s that was handed to the then home secretary, Leon (now Lord) Brittan, by the Tory MP Geoffrey Dickens.
But as it emerged on Sunday that a further 114 possibly relevant files have also gone missing from government records– the government again ruled out a public inquiry into the allegations.............
There must have been hundreds of BBC employees who knew what was going on and by preferring to keep their cushy jobs they remained silent and thus culpable in the terrible abuse that went on for decades and involved hundreds of children.

....Five children under the age of 10 were rescued by police following a national child pornography investigation that targeted alleged sex offenders and resulted in hundreds of charges, the RCMP said Thursday.
Officers released the results of a four-month investigation into child exploitation that reached into every province, announcing in Halifax that more than 150 people have been arrested or are under investigation.
Sgt. Michael Petrilli said almost two million images and videos have been seized, with many involving infants and toddlers.
"I cannot stress enough what these images are and what they are not," he said at a new conference where he was flanked by about a dozen officers from 40 police agencies involved in the operation.
"These images are not simply children having a bubble bath. They are clearly children that are in a situation where they are being sexually assaulted."
Investigators said two of the children who have been rescued are from British Columbia, and the other three are from Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick. They released few details about them, but said they all knew their alleged abusers and only some of them were involved in cases of alleged pornography production.
The 343 charges include sexual assault, luring, possession and distribution of child pornography, and voyeurism. Petrilli said 104 people have been charged, but more charges are pending.
It's possible the investigation could move beyond Canada if it's found the material was sourced from or shared by people in other countries through Interpol or other police agencies.
"I would be shocked if there are not some international investigations stemming from arrests here in Canada," said Sgt. Darren Parisien, an RCMP member from Saskatoon who worked on the investigation..........

Pope Francis named Marie Collins on Saturday as a member of the Vatican’s new anti abuse commission, the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors.
The move is being interpreted as signalling the Vatican’s resolve to confront the issue and put survivors of clerical abuse to the fore of its safeguarding efforts.
The Pope named three clergy and five laity from eight different countries, including four women, on the panel. Seven are either European or from the US.
Announcing the appointments, Vatican spokesman, Fr Frederico Lombardi said the appointments reflect the late Pope John Paul II’s statement that “there is no place in the priesthood or religious life for those who would abuse the young.”......

...Huge US child porn ring is dismantled with 14 arrests. They say that 14 men running a secret, members-only child porn website have been arrested.
About 250 children - mostly boys from the US - appeared on the site.
The website had more than 27,000 subscribers, many of whom have been charged in individual cases.
"Never before in the history of this agency have we identified and located this many minor victims in the course of a single child exploitation investigation," Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) Deputy Director Daniel Ragsdale told Reuters news agency.
Ice worked with Homeland Security officials and other agencies to break up the ring, which ran a website to share videos of boys enticed from social networks into providing sexually explicit material - sometimes by men posing as women.
Ages of the children ranged in age from three to 17 years, officials said, and came from 39 US states. Twenty-three of the 251 victims were identified in Britain, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and Belgium.
Among the suspects arrested was Jonathan Johnson, 27, the alleged administrator of the child porn website, which operated out of the southern US state of Louisiana......

But then have we known of a politician going to jail for laws they have created which cause hell for the innocent? .....QUEENSLAND paedophile Peter Truong didn't look like a man about to be sentenced to 30 years' jail when he shuffled into the elegant District Court room in Indianapolis.
Dressed in a black and white striped prison jumpsuit, orange joggers and his wrists and legs shackled, Truong waved and smiled at his parents who had flown in from Australia and were sitting in the second row of the sparsely populated courtroom on Monday. Truong then gave the US prosecutors an equally friendly smile and wave.
Truong, who bought a newborn boy for $US8000 ($8784) and then allowed men around the world to abuse the child, was sentenced in a US court to 30 years' jail on Monday, after facing a maximum 40-year sentence.
The plea deal he struck with prosecutors could have allowed a minimum of 24 years.
US District Court judge Sarah Evans Barker, in announcing the sentence in Indianapolis, took note of Truong's willingness to work with authorities to lead them to other paedophiles and his own history as a childhood abuse victim.
The court heard how as a child and teenager he was sexually abused and became a member of a “man-boy cult”.
If Truong is to be believed, he is a changed man.
“I want to say thank you to the authorities for saving my son, but also for saving me as well,” Truong told Judge Barker.
Truong, as an infant, fled Vietnam with his parents and settled in Australia. His domestic partner, Mark Newton, 42, also from Queensland, was jailed in June for 40 years.
Prosecutors say Truong and Newton bought the boy from a woman in a "foreign" country, believed to be Russia, and then transported him around the world to engage in sex with more than half a dozen other men, all before his sixth birthday.
The baby then became a jewel in a global paedophile network that Truong and Newton were members of.
They sexually assaulted the baby, recorded the assaults on high definition video cameras, then passed on the videos to other paedophiles. Truong went by the screen name “Plopper” on paedophile internet sites......
