346) Charges against Chiheb Esseghaier and Raed Jaser. CONSENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF CANADA
Pursuant to section 83.24 of the Criminal Code I, the undersigned, George Dolhai, Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions and Deputy Attorney General of Canada do consent to the commencement of proceedings against Chiheb Esseghaier and Raed Jaser in respect of the following offences:
1. Chiheb Esseghaier and Raed Jaser, between April 1st, 2012 and September 25th, 2012, in the City of Toronto, in the Province of Ontario, and in the City of Montreal, in the Province of Quebec, and elsewhere, did conspire, the one with the other, to interfere with transportation facilities contrary to section 248 of the Criminal Code of Canada, for the benefit of, at the direction of, or in association with a terrorist group, thereby committing an offence contrary to section 83.2 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
2. Chiheb Esseghaier and Raed Jaser, between April 1st, 2012 and September 25th, 2012, in the City of Toronto, in the Province of Ontario and in the City of Montreal, in the Province of Quebec and elsewhere, did conspire, the one with the other, to murder persons unknown contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada, for the benefit of, at the direction of, or in association with a terrorist group, thereby committing an offence contrary to section 83.2 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
3. Chiheb Esseghaier between April 1st, 2012 and September 25th 2012, in the City of Toronto, in the Province of Ontario and in the City of Montreal, in the Province of Quebec and elsewhere, did knowingly participate in or contribute to, directly or indirectly, any activity of a terrorist group for the purpose of enhancing the ability of any terrorist group to facilitate or carry out a terrorist activity, thereby committing an offence contrary to section 83.18 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
4. Chiheb Esseghaier, between September 25th, 2012 and February 14th, 2013, in the City of Toronto, in the Province of Ontario and in the City of Montreal, in the Province of Quebec and elsewhere, did knowingly participate in or contribute to, directly or indirectly, any activity of a terrorist group for the purpose of enhancing the ability of any terrorist group to facilitate or carry out a terrorist activity, thereby committing an offence contrary to section 83.18 of the Criminal Code of Canada.5. Raed Jaser, between April 1st 2012 and September 25th, 2012, in the City of Toronto, in the Province of Ontario and in the City of Montreal, in the Province of Quebec and elsewhere, did knowingly participate in or contribute to, directly or indirectly, any activity of a terrorist group for the purpose of enhancing the ability of any terrorist group to facilitate or carry out a terrorist activity, thereby committing an offence contrary to section 83.18 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
6. Chiheb Esseghaier, between September 7th, 2012 and December 20th, 2012, in the City of Toronto, in the Province of Ontario and in the City of Montreal, in the Province of Quebec and elsewhere, did knowingly instruct, directly or indirectly, any person to carry out any activity for the benefit of, at the direction of or in association with a terrorist group, for the purpose of enhancing the ability of any terrorist group to facilitate or carry out a terrorist activity, contrary to section 83.21 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
347) ...Wielding a knife, Nabil Almousa threw her to the floor, pinned her arms and legs, and went at her eyelids with its seven-inch blade.
By the time he got up again, there were seven cuts and slices — and so much blood that a woman who later saw her thought it must be a prank.
“There,” Almousa told her. “You can leave now.”
Almost a year later, as she weighs whether or not to have plastic surgery, she said she is partly to blame for own disfigurement because she said something to make him mad.
But the judge who heard the facts Friday — about the knife attack and the chain of events building up to it — was having none of that.
“I want you to understand this,” said Justice Michael Epstein, his voice rising as he addressed Almousa, 34, in the prisoner’s dock. “She bears no responsibility.” The justice called the case one of the worst cases of domestic violence he has even seen.
Court heard the couple met in Jordan, bucking their Muslim tradition of arranged marriages after she caught his eye while working in a store.
“This is a relationship that began simply with love,” said defence lawyer Stephanie Krug.
They came to Canada as refugees in 2007 and quickly had three kids, all still under the age of five.
She stayed home in Waterloo to mind the family. He worked long hours to support it, first in construction and then at a Guelph factory.
Neighbours in their complex noticed bruises and urged her to go to police, but she refused even after admitting her husband hit her.
But when Almousa came home drunk one night at 4 a.m., woke her up and punched her in the face, they took that step themselves.............
348) "Younis" is primarily a Muslim last name. This guy might be a convert or he might be a Christian from a Muslim country. A former York University football coach who was arrested on charges relating to child pornography faces eight additional charges in the child-luring investigation.
Daniel Younis, 24, was the recruiting coordinator and running back coach for the York University Lions football team when he was first arrested on Feb. 21.
At that time, he was charged with luring a child and attempting to make child pornography.
On Monday, police arrested Younis as second time, and he was scheduled to appear in court that same day.
Police report that between January 2011 and February 2013, the suspect allegedly engaged three boys, aged 16 and 17, through cell phone and Internet chats.
Police report that two of the victims were allegedly sexually assaulted on the York University campus and that the accused met the third victim at an all-star football game in Texas. Younis is charged with three counts of luring a child, two counts of attempting to make child pornography and three counts of sexual exploitation.....
349) Three men face almost 90 charges after series of bank robberies.The men in their 20s are alleged to be involved in a series of armed robberies at several banks across the GTA.
Three men wanted for a series of armed robberies that occurred at several banks across the GTA were arrested earlier this week, according to Peel police.
The robberies, occurring between September 2011 and November 2012, targeted bank branches in Halton, Peel, Waterloo and Hamilton. In each incident, staff were jumped as they opened the banks for business and forced into the vault and robbed.
Police executing search warrants recovered approximately $100,000 in cash.
Investigators said the arrests on Wednesday came as the suspects allegedly plotted to steal an armoured truck to be used in another bank heist in Mississauga that night.
Between them, Daniel Antwi, 27, of Mississauga, Jabourou Abdoulkader, 26, of Toronto, and Nasser Abdoulkader, 21, of Brampton, face 89 charges. The charges include robbery, forcible confinement and unauthorized possession of firearms.

351) On Monday, April 22, 2013, a man was arrested and charged with five counts of sexual
assault.
It is alleged that:
− between November 2012 and April 2013, the accused, a student at Centennial College
Ashtonbee Campus, sexually assaulted a female student on multiple occasions
− the sexual assaults occurred on campus

352) The Toronto Police Service has charged an American man with 26 offences arising from the
G20 Summit in Toronto in June 2010.
Joel Saleem Bitar, 27, from New York City, returned to Canada from the United States
voluntarily and surrendered to police on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. He was taken to 23 Division
and processed on the outstanding Canada Wide Warrant for G20−related offences and held
in custody.
He is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Wednesday, April 17, 2013
at 10 a.m.
It is alleged that:
− the accused used a hammer to smash the windows of a TPS police car, while a police
officer was inside the vehicle, near the intersection of Queen Street West and Spadina
Avenue
− the accused smashed the windows of a Starbucks on Queen Street West
− the accused smashed the windows and ATMs at a Scotiabank branch on Queen Street
West
− the accused smashed the windows of a Subway sandwich shop on Queen Street West
− the accused threw a rock at a line of police officers
− the accused threw a rock through a window of a TD branch on Bay Street, and the glass
struck both a security officer and a female customer
− the accused, in the King Street West/Bay Street area, jumped on a police car and then
threw a rock at a police mini−van
− the accused used a pick−axe hammer and smashed holes in six panes of glass at Commerce Court
− the accused damaged the windows at a TD branch on Yonge Street
− the accused entered the Urban Outfitters store on Yonge Street and removed a retail store
− the accused went to the American Apparel store on Yonge Street, removed several of the
mannequins and threw them into the street
− the accused and two other males took the metal base of a street caution sign and used it to
smash a window at the CARLU on Yonge Street
− the accused smashed the windows at a Starbucks on Yonge Street
− the accused threw a large rock at a police mini−van, smashing the window.......
353) Mustaf Yusuf, 18, of Toronto, is charged with:

354)Investigators from Peel Regional Police’s Special Victims Unit have issued a warrant for a 54 year old male charging him with sexual assault related offences, which occurred over a 4 month time frame, in the Region of Peel.
Mehdi MIRZA ALI, 54 of Brampton is wanted on the following charges, in relation to a fifteen year old girl;

Sexual Assault
Mr. Mehdi MIRZA ALI worked as a volunteer driver for Milestone Foster Homes, the Peel Children’s Aid Society and the Toronto Catholic Children’s Aid Society, driving children in their care to appointments throughout the greater Toronto area.
Investigators spoke with Mr. Mehdi MIRZA ALI and arrangements were made to turn himself in on April 5, 2013, however he failed to attend. Information received is that the accused may have fled the country on April 6, 2013.
Due to his position, investigators are concerned there may be other victims and are asking the public to report any similar inappropriate sexual contact they may have had with Mr. Mehdi MIRZA ALI.........
355) ....On April 18, one of the suspects was arrested in relation to this robbery. Abdi BAHDON, age 38 of Ottawa, is charged with robbery, two counts of breach of recognizance, and one count of breach of probation. He appeared in court on April 18.
A second suspect, a black male, approximately 25-35 years old, 5’10”, approximately 150 lbs, remains at large. ....
356) During the weekend of March 29 to April 1st, 2013 the Ottawa Police Service executed several warrants for Project Apache.
This endeavour was the result of an investigation by members of the Guns and Gangs Unit, Direct Action Response Team (D.A.R.T.), Drug Unit, Surveillance Unit, District (Neighbourhood Office), Criminal Intelligence Analysis Unit, Street Crime Unit, Tactical Unit and Patrol services.
Ottawa Police received assistance by Gatineau Police Service and the Toronto Police Service. The investigation lasted six months and targeted street gang members’ activity in the City of Ottawa and surrounding areas.
This investigation resulted in several items being seized, such as two firearms, drugs and Canadian currency. The firearms seized include a .45 calibre Llama Max handgun and a Browning 9 mm handgun, as well as ammunition.
Firearms seized by the Ottawa Police will undergo ballistic testing. The results of the ballistic testing are sent to Ontario Centre for Forensic Sciences in Toronto and uploaded into a system that compares the results to evidence gathered in other unsolved shootings and murders to see if there is a match.
The drugs seized include seven kilograms of powder cocaine, marihuana and oxycodone tablets. The street level value is estimated to be approximately $700,000.00. Also seized was $34,145.00 in Canadian Currency.
Chief Charles Bordeleau noted: “Our Guns and Gangs Unit worked in tandem with other units including Tactical Unit, Patrol, Criminal Intelligence Analysis Unit, as well as other agencies such as Gatineau Police. I would like to recognize everyone involved for their hard work and dedication in not only making this investigation a success, but also in making our city safer as a direct result. Investigations such as this are both long and arduous and really demonstrate the commitment and skill of our members and partners.”
“The issue of guns and gangs has been a top priority for this organization,” added Chief Bordeleau. “Working with our partners, we have been tackling this issue through enforcement and community outreach and prevention. This project is a perfect example of the excellent investigative work being accomplished by our members.”

357) Over $48,000 worth of stolen property and drugs were seized as a result of a search warrant at a Valleyview Avenue residence.
Over the weekend of April 20 and 21, 2013 a number of power-operated landscaping equipment was stolen from the Highland Golf and Country Club, as a result of a break and enter.
On Wednesday, April 24, 2013 the search warrant was executed, resulting in the residents being charged.
The following was seized:
- Power-operated landscaping equipment - $6,000
- A tazer
- 2492.7g marihuana - $24,927
- 58.8g opium - $17,640
As a result of the investigation, 48-year-old Mohammad Nassiri, and 34-year-old Judith Jones, have been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of property obtained by crime, contrary to section 354(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada;
- Possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon, contrary to section 92(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada;
- Possess schedule I substance for trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; and
- Possess schedule II substance for trafficking, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Mohammad Nassiri has also been charged with possess a weapon while prohibited, contrary to section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
358) North Division officers with the Edmonton Police Service have charged five individuals with weapons related offenses stemming from an incident which occurred early on Monday morning.
At approximately 12:30 a.m. on April 15, 2013, police received reports of a weapons complaint and shots being fired in the area of 116A Avenue and 29 Street.
Detectives from Northeast Division as well as the Forensic Identification Services Section continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
“At this time it appears that the subjects involved may have been known to each other,” says Staff Sgt. Dwayne Lakusta. “Our investigation into this incident is not over and we are continuing to interview suspects and witnesses. We are appealing to the public to come forward with any information they may have regarding this incident.”
The five accused are: Abdullahi Shire Khalif, 26, Mohamed Shire Khalif, 27, Shuaib Abdirahman Mohamed, 20, Abdullahi Nursed, 22 and Mahamed Sahal, 24...........
359) On Thursday, April 18, 2013, Calgary police laid charges against two local men in relation to an investigation into human trafficking.
In February, 2013, front-line officers responded to a disturbance in a local hotel. Upon arrival, they found a 17-year-old female victim of what appeared to be human trafficking. Because of her age, she was apprehended under the Government of Alberta Protection of Sexually Exploited Children Act (PSECA). As the investigation continued, a second victim, who was 19 years old, was found.
Abdullah AMER, 18, and Balal JEHA, 19, both of Calgary have been charged with:
· living off the avails of a prostitute under the age of 18
· living off the avails of a prostitute
· trafficking in a minor
· trafficking in persons over 18
· receiving material benefit from trafficking in persons
· procuring a person under 18 to become a prostitute
· unlawful confinement
360) When and if this guy is caught, he will turn out to be a Muslim. A multicultural soccer tournament held in Regina this week was a perfect example of cultures coming together in a respectful and peaceful way. Except for that huge brawl.
And the referee who got punched in the face.
Regina Police are on the hunt for a 26-year-old man who allegedly knocked a 45-year-old referee unconscious during an indoor soccer match, Wednesday night.....
....One witness/spectator told CBC News that emotions were running high throughout the game and that "things got out of hand, people started fouling and tackling each other."
Hussam Ibrahim, of Sudan, told the network that he saw the player "touch" the ref's face, but believes the ref overreacted to the contact.
Regina Police, however, allege the referee was punched in the jaw and knocked unconscious. The suspect had left the arena by the time officers arrived, and is the focus of an assault investigation. Regina police say he is believed to be from Alberta.
All those players from all those cultural backgrounds, and the result: Five red cards, one unconscious referee and an assault investigation.....
