Rush Limbaugh's prediction is less scary than mine

This prediction of Rush Limbaugh reminds me of what a couple of Americans I met recently said about how the Democrats know they have found a goldmine in Obama and won't let go of him.  According to them, the next prez will be Hillary and the one after that will be Obama again. Whatever these two said to me while we were cruising the Bahamas  has remained with me because both those individuals are old hands at managing election campaigns and their ears are close to the political ground.   Based on their opinion,  I predict Obama will come back as a full-fledged president one more time and that would be right after the next president ... whether it happens to be Hillary or a Republican.

The answer is a guaranteed yes, according to Rush Limbaugh, the nation’s most-listened-to radio broadcaster.
Obama’s announcement that he plans to continue to reside in Washington, D.C., when his term ends was mostly ignored during the Christmas news cycle.

But Limbaugh heard the statement loud and clear, and offered his listeners Tuesday his opinion about Obama’s unusual decision.
“Most presidents go back home,” Limbaugh pointed out.
George Washington set the pattern, by pointedly imitating the Roman statesman Cincinnatus’ quiet return to his humble farm after serving in public office.

“Now Obama’s home is Hawaii or Chicago,” Limbaugh continued. “I fully expected Obama and Michelle to set up the Barack Obama Library of Social Justice at the University of Hawaii or something and go back there, and they may very well do that.
“But Obama says he is going to stay in Washington. Can you guess why that might be?”

Limbaugh speculated Obama wants to “stay in town to make sure that whatever he accomplishes is not unwound.”

As an example, Limbaugh said if a Republican is elected in 2016 and says certain aspects of Obamacare were sought to be dismantled, “Obama is going to call the media, and he’s going to go on TV as though he’s still president, and the media will treat him that way.
“He is going to stay there to make sure that whatever he’s done to remake this country is not changed, is not unwound,” Limbaugh added.........

Prediction: Bleak outlook for EU

The slide downhill will continue until millions of Europeans will face the kind of poverty we have come to accept from some of the African and Asian countries.

.....Two thirds of the Red Cross branches in EU countries are now having to hand out food to Europeans in need. Red Cross staff are being kept particularly busy in Spain. In 2012, the Red Cross handed out more than 33,000 tons of food aid to hungry Spaniards, where 3 million people in the country asked for help. Furthermore, in a number of cases the Red Cross also helped to pay for electricity, water and housing. More than 20,000 Spanish families received financial aid.

Every 7th Romanian – more than 3 million people – is living in poverty. The relative level of poverty in Romania has grown in recent years to 40 percent. This is already the fourth year that the Romanian Red Cross has been distributing food aid. In 2012, food aid was given to more than 80,000 families.....

....More than 14 percent of the population in Poland is unemployed. Incidentally, unemployment in the EU reached a record 12.2 percent in September, covering 19.5 million people. Youth unemployment, meanwhile, is at a staggering 23%. It is interesting that these figures are better in Ukraine – 8 percent and 19 percent respectively....

In other news besides the "I can't believe it" election in Canada

I have stopped looking at the  polls ... they go against reason, common sense and logic. If the Conservatives don't get a majority, which majority I have predicted should happen  largely thanks to Ontario, then I will go into a period of mourning which will last until the Conservatives are back in power. I refuse to believe that Ontarians have been so dumbed down that they would still vote Liberal or NDP  even after all the madness we have had to put up with, with the Libs governing this province. If they are that dumb, then they deserve what they get.

1) Another arab dictatorship going down? Sultanate of Oman: ....At least 1,000 protesters have taken to the streets in Oman's southern port city of Salalah in one of the biggest pro-reform demonstrations since scattered unrest began in the Gulf Arab sultanate two months ago.

2) Bahrain: (This from Al Jazeera ....so it needs to be taken with a pinch of salt).
Security forces have seized at least eight health workers from two separate medical facilities in Bahrain, sources tell Al Jazeera. The Aali Health Centre in Manama was raided early on Tuesday morning, as shown in an image posted by an activist on Facebook. Medical staff working in the two centres were beaten and an unknown number were arrested.


3) Syria: This is a translation and as online translation go, it's not good .... but you will get the gist of what is happening to many of the injured taken to hospitals. Many of them are killed off by the doctors and other personnel royal to the dictator. Unbelievable. Do you think NATO will intervene?  I doubt it !!!  Not much to grab there.

5) Libya: USA goes wading deeper in the arab cesspool and will, as usual, pull Canada with it. Why can't we just say "NO". The United States launched its first Predator drone strike in Libya on Saturday, the Defense Department said in a statement. It did not provide details on the target of the strike, saying only that it occurred in the early afternoon local time in Libya. Gates announced on Thursday that the unmanned aircraft would be used in Libya for Hellfire missile attacks on the forces of leader Muammar Gaddafi.

9) Yemen: As many as 10 protesters were killed .  A protest march was reportedly winding its way toward the state television headquarters when gunmen opened fire on the crowd and scattered the demonstrators.........  by plainclothes government loyalists in the Sana’a, the Yemeni capital, on Wednesday, as a general strike paralysed economic activity in several cities throughout the country



10) Saudi Arabia : Authorities in Saudi Arabia have detained two Shi'ite bloggers .this week for taking part in demonstrations in the country's oil-producing Eastern Province, a Shi'ite website and activists said on Wednesday

The Sunni Muslim monarchy of Saudi Arabia, the world's top oil exporter and major U.S. ally, does not tolerate any form of dissent. It has not seen the kind of mass uprisings other countries in the region have over the past few months.
