Rush Limbaugh's prediction is less scary than mine

This prediction of Rush Limbaugh reminds me of what a couple of Americans I met recently said about how the Democrats know they have found a goldmine in Obama and won't let go of him.  According to them, the next prez will be Hillary and the one after that will be Obama again. Whatever these two said to me while we were cruising the Bahamas  has remained with me because both those individuals are old hands at managing election campaigns and their ears are close to the political ground.   Based on their opinion,  I predict Obama will come back as a full-fledged president one more time and that would be right after the next president ... whether it happens to be Hillary or a Republican.

The answer is a guaranteed yes, according to Rush Limbaugh, the nation’s most-listened-to radio broadcaster.
Obama’s announcement that he plans to continue to reside in Washington, D.C., when his term ends was mostly ignored during the Christmas news cycle.

But Limbaugh heard the statement loud and clear, and offered his listeners Tuesday his opinion about Obama’s unusual decision.
“Most presidents go back home,” Limbaugh pointed out.
George Washington set the pattern, by pointedly imitating the Roman statesman Cincinnatus’ quiet return to his humble farm after serving in public office.

“Now Obama’s home is Hawaii or Chicago,” Limbaugh continued. “I fully expected Obama and Michelle to set up the Barack Obama Library of Social Justice at the University of Hawaii or something and go back there, and they may very well do that.
“But Obama says he is going to stay in Washington. Can you guess why that might be?”

Limbaugh speculated Obama wants to “stay in town to make sure that whatever he accomplishes is not unwound.”

As an example, Limbaugh said if a Republican is elected in 2016 and says certain aspects of Obamacare were sought to be dismantled, “Obama is going to call the media, and he’s going to go on TV as though he’s still president, and the media will treat him that way.
“He is going to stay there to make sure that whatever he’s done to remake this country is not changed, is not unwound,” Limbaugh added.........

That’s my answer when someone asks me where I went to college. Thirty years after I made that fateful decision, the words still stick in my throat sometimes.

Why didn’t I — a naturally bright, unnaturally well-read kid in my high school’s “advanced” stream — go to university (as we call “college” up here in Canada) and get a BA?

For one thing, it was the Reagan era. Every night on the news (not to mention talk shows and comedy programs), we were assured that Ronald Reagan was about to start World War 3. Roll your eyes if you like, but plenty of people older and supposedly smarter than I purported to believe that.

Next: Never mind that wailing Zuni doll from Trilogy of Terror, or any of the other scary stuff readers share at Kindertrauma.com. What horrified me on TV when I was a kid? The Paper Chase (1973). The middlebrow saga of a guy’s struggle to get through law school — hell, his struggle to get from one end of his vast Ivy League campus to the next without being late for his next class and getting insulted by John Houseman at his withering best (or is that worst?) — genuinely terrified me.......
