Myanmar have 9 home-made bombs going off in one week

As usual, in almost all such cases, the news posted online is fuzzy about the identity of the group(s) behind the bombings.  However, check out the bits I highlighted and draw your own conclusion.

Robin McDowell of AP at DenverPost:
....Three small bombs went off in eastern Myanmar,  killing one person and wounding six, the latest in a series of unexplained explosions in a country that had seen few such attacks since an elected government took over two years ago.
The blasts in Namkham, on the northern tip of Shan state, occurred late Wednesday and early Thursday, said a duty officer at the local police station who asked to remain anonymous because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
An investigation, he said, is still underway.
Myanmar has been rocked by at least nine bombs in the last week—with low-intensity explosions in Yangon, Mandalay, Taungoo, Sagaing and Namkhan leaving three dead and 10 others wounded.
The most high-profile, at the luxury Traders Hotel in the heart of the commercial capital, injured a 43-year-old American.
"Acts of violence like those perpetrated and attempted over the past week have no place in civilized society," the U.S. Embassy said in a statement..........

From RadioFreeAsia:
.....Six Suspects Arrested in Myanmar Bombing Attacks. Authorities in Myanmar on Tuesday arrested six people in connection with a series of unexplained bomb explosions in several cities, including a key suspect behind the blast that injured an American guest at the luxury Traders Hotel in the commercial capital Yangon.
No individual or group has yet claimed responsibility for at least six bomb explosions—including two that rocked the northern Sagaing region on Tuesday—that have left two people dead and four others wounded. Four unexploded devices have also been discovered by authorities.......

.........“We had the evidence to arrest them. These people are the [suspected] perpetrators of the failed bombing attempt at the Western Park restaurant and bomb blast at the Traders Hotel.”

Myint Htwe said the explosion at the 22-story Traders Hotel had been caused by a small, homemade time bomb that had been placed in the bathroom of an American family's room on the ninth floor........

From NYTimes:
....Since Friday, six explosions  have hit hotels, a Buddhist pagoda, and restaurants in Yangon and two regions north and northeast of the city, the authorities in Myanmar said.......

Hmmmm ......quite the mystery isn't it?  I wonder which group in Burma hates Americans and Buddhists in equal measures.
