The latest on Libya

From CBS News: Libyan rebels may be indiscriminately killing black people ... because they have confused innocent migrant workers with mercenaries, the chairman of the African Union said, citing the fears as one reason the continental body has not recognized opposition forces as Libya's interim government.

"NTC seems to confuse black people with mercenaries," AU chairman Jean Ping said Monday, referring to the rebels' National Transitional Council. "All blacks are mercenaries. If you do that, it means (that the) one-third of the population of Libya, which is black, is also mercenaries. They are killing people, normal workers, mistreating them."......

From: Lizzie Phelan, independent reporter. She might be a lefty, but her reporting is more believable than the reports coming from "official" jounalists of the NATO countries involved in Libya.

....On my second day in the Corinthia, three butch British guys strutted around insisting they were now in charge of the security of the hotel. One of them told me he had come over from Kabul, which was “getting a lot worse”. “Do you think this is going to become like Kabul?” I asked, “It’s very likely, with so many different groups fighting for power”, he replied.........

And, this message has been supposedly received from Gadhafi's daughter Aisha who fled to Algeria. I got it off a Libyan's blog:

SEPTEMBER 3, 2011 MESSAGE FROM AISHA GADDAFI (Ayesha Qadhafi)
Received via Genet Tadesse

Even if my father and my brothers are martyred, I will continue my fight against Islamic terrorists in Libya. Soon, I will appear in the media to announce the fight against terrorists and Al-Qaeda in Libya and other countries in the world. Let the West and their mercenaries take note; Aisha Kadhafi will never surrender to their conspiracy of evil.

I carry the blood of a heroic father in my veins and I have never known the idea of surrender. NATO and Western assassins killed my husband and my child. But they must know by now that Aisha Kadhafi is a soldier. Even at the cost of my own life, I will free my country from the clutches of Islamic terrorists and Al Qaeda.
