Conservatives make the best comedians ever

I am reading Mark Steyn's "After America ...Get ready for Armageddon" and it has enforced my belief that Conservative men and women make the best humorists. Take Ezra Levant for example. In my household, Steve Carell has lost his footing and Levant is now entrenched as our 10 PM info hour full of laughs. How about Kathy Shaidle? Her dark humor is to die for. Seen Brian Lilley lately? Barrels of laughs. Although, I am no longer a fan of our PM Harper, it is rumored that he has a very sharp sense of humor in him. Also, there's Glenn Beck down south and a horde of other conservative talk show hosts.

Here's the pertinent part from Steyn's "After America .... " that got me laughing aloud:
Senator Kerry is so wedded to "truth" and "facts" that, like his fellow Massachusetts patrician Ted Kennedy, he spent the Bush years disseminating a fake Thomas Jefferson quote ("Dissent is the highest form of patriotism"). Barack Obama is so smart he had a fake Martin Luther King quote sewn onto the Oval Office carpet ("The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice"). Barbra Streisand is so smart she sonorously declaimed to a Democratic Party national gala a fake Shakespeare quote she insisted was from Julius Caesar ("Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor..." - poor Will must have been having an off day). Hundreds of leftie websites are so smart that, after the 2011 shootings in Tucson, they all blamed it on Sarah Palin by using the same fake Sinclair Lewis quote from It Can't Happen Here ("When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross" -- er, no, as it happens that's not in It Can't Happen Here or any other Sinclair Lewis novel). Liberals are so smart they teach a fake book in college (I, Rigoberta Menchu).
Steyn does give the correct quote from Sinclair Lewis further down on the same page, but my fingers have had enough skipping over the keyboard for now.
