Percentages and everything relevant to them

Yesterday, Steve Paikin of The Agenda had an  interesting show titled "Immigration Nation".  Somewhere at the link you might be able to access the entire show if you feel like watching it. There were many misconceptions and feelings of entitlement that came from an immigration lawyer, dealing mainly in Chinese immigrating to Canada and originating from that country herself, which came as a surprise to me. I consider the Chinese immigrants to Canada as being the last kind of people seeking entitlements and the first to have the most hard-working people in their community and I feel this lawyer was completely off-base and does not have her finger on her community's pulse but only on her bank balances.  Almost everything in the show was topsy-turvy. The immigrant from Pakistan was a great example of the kind of immigrant any country would be glad to have. A family man who not only sacrificed a lot but continues to do so to this day, because his priorities are his kids, the next generation. He does not feel entitled to anything and is immensely grateful for the opportunities afforded to his family, if not to himself, in his new country.

In Canada as well as in any other country, the future of that country depends on  the percentage of the kind of immigrants one lets into the country. In Canada, the actual working/tax paying immigrants into the country within the last 10-15 years are no more than 30%.  The rest are dependents like children who will perhaps contribute in the next 10 years or dependents like elderly parents who never will and worst of all several wives of moslem men who never leave the house unless they are wearing tents.

We are committing suicide, aren't we ?  Without even realizing it.

Check out what percentages will be doing to the UK.  ....Following last week’s comments by Baroness Warsi :about Islamophobia, Radio 4 broadcast a programme in which it asked

Are sections of the British press increasing tensions within communities by publishing negative stories about Muslims? John Waite investigates the link between inaccurate anti-Muslim stories and the increased membership of the English Defence League. The organisation, which claims to oppose Islamic extremism, has been inspired by one long-running story: the Winterval myth – the unfounded claim that councils are rebranding or renaming Christmas to appease Muslims. And it’s threatened to visit any town or city that bans Christmas. So why are newspapers publishing distorted, islamophobic stories that provoke far-right extremists? Should the Press Complaints Commission impose tougher sanctions? Or do editors need to take more responsibility for the consequences of what they print?

On a very, very superficial level they are right. Many of the stories about councils abolishing Christmas or taking the word “ham” out of the town’s name because it offends Muslims are wildly exaggerated or entirely fictitious. Often if someone has actually complained it’s not a Muslim – the vast majority of whom are respectful of Christianity in this country – but some joyless, mealy-mouthed ex-Liberal Democrat.....
