The beauty and splendour of Spotted Lakes

I don't know what it says about someone who is fascinated with lakes, rivers, oceans... like I am. Here are some pics of lakes, mostly in Canada, which shows off their spots when some of the water diminishes in the summer months.

Depending on the kind of minerals in the lakes and the percentage of concentration of those minerals, you will see a variety of colors as summer progresses and the sediments at the lake bottoms dry out. Expect to see circles in the hues of white, yellow, green, blue and silver.... and sometimes even bright gold. The natives in the surrounding areas of such lakes consider some of them to have healing powers and that can be because of the concentration of minerals like calcium, sodium sulfates, magnesium sulfate, silver, titanium and various other minerals found in these rich reservoirs.

The pics here are of the lake in Osoyoos, BC, which is known as either the Dotted Lake or Spotted Lake or as Klikuk in the native language. Depending on the mineral concentrates in certain areas of the lake... it will give you a panorama of an amazing quilt of greens, whites and yellow pools.
