Syrians are not like other Arabs of the Middle East

MUST LISTEN: Jamila Assi talks to Brit radio host Richie Allen on the reality of life in Syria.  One thing that she mentioned which is rarely given much attention to by the thousands writing about Assad and Syria is the fact that Syria on the whole, before the war, was starting to progress both economically and structurally.  Therein lay its misfortune. Assad shouldn't have tried to uplift his people and his country.  Hadn't he seen what had happened to Gadhafi?  He was laughing at the UN when Gadhafi was lecturing on the West's meddling hand in the Middle East and North Africa.  Lesson learnt, but a bit too late.
