Cyprus to become rich on oil & gas reserves .....

but only if  peace comes back to the hellholes around it.   Like somebody said recently,  the fiasco with Syria is also to do with oil and gas pipelines and only those pulling the strings on entire nations, have access to the master plan.

Dr.Daniel Pipes at his blog:
The Republic of Cyprus has entered the maelstrom of the world's most volatile region thanks to new-found gas and oil reserves combined with an erratic Turkish foreign policy and a civil war in Syria. Even as leaders of this Mediterranean island show skill dealing with these novel threats and opportunities, they need support from a strong U.S. Navy, something not now available.
Cypriot underwater gas and oil discoveries follow directly on ones found earlier in Israeli seas, located adjacent to them and uncovered by the same American (Noble) and Israeli (Delek, Avner) companies. The current estimate of 5 trillion cubic feet (tcf) as well as some oil has a value estimated at US$800 billion, a huge sum amount for a small country whose current GDP is a mere $24 billion.
The great majority of this energy will likely be exported to Turkey or Europe. A pipeline to Turkey would be cheapest and easiest but so long as Turkish troops continue to occupy 36 percent of Cyprus, this will not happen. A recent court decision permitting the Israeli government to decide what quantities of energy to export now offers other possibilities: Cyprus could swap gas with Israel that then goes to Turkey or the two allies could jointly build a liquefied natural gas terminal in Cyprus.

Eventually, should Egypt, Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria find gas and join the modern world, they too could take part, turning the area between Egypt and Cyprus into a truly major resource; according to the U.S. Geological Survey, the contiguous Nile Delta and Levantine basins together contain an estimated 345 tcf of natural gas and 3.44 billion barrels of oil.....

A Muslim Russia ?

It's more than possible.  And, so is a Muslim America, a Muslim Canada, a Muslim Australia, a Muslim EU and a Muslim Earth.   And, who are the forces that will make all this possible?  Our esteemed politicians, of course.  And, why do we deserve this fate on us?  Because, we have voted the fucks to the seats from which they stab us.

See that pic?  That's the congregation of the cult members for Eid headbanging on October 15 in Moscow. Beautiful, eh?!  Think you can escape that from happening in Canada or the USA at the rate of the present inflow of Muslim immigrants?  If you think "Yes, we can"  .... I have a bridge right here in my basement, it's made from pure gold and I'll sell it to you for just a penny.

But, let's continue hating Russia.  It's all to our benefit because our American overlords have programmed us to hate communism as "communism destroys religion."   And, being the good slaves that we are we know that there are only two religions in the world, Christianity and Judaism ... and  we don't want either destroyed, no sirreee, no!  We gotta hate Russia even though they are now helpless in the face of a cult we never thought would be a problem because we were too much on guard safeguarding Christianity and Judaism from the communists and not from the Muslims.

Dr. Pipes at  WashingtonTimes and also at his blog  writes:
The stabbing murder on Oct. 10  of an ethnic Russian, Yegor Shcherbakov, 25, apparently by a Muslim from Azerbaijan, led to anti-migrant disturbances in Moscow, vandalism and assaults, the arrest of 1,200, and brought a major tension in Russian life to the fore.

Not only do ethnic Muslims account for 21-23 million of Russia's total population of 144 million, or 15 percent, but their proportion is fast growing. Alcoholism-plagued ethnic Russians are said to have European birth rates and African death rates, with the former just 1.4 per woman and the latter 60 years for men. In Moscow, ethnic Christian women have 1.1 child.

In contrast, Muslim women bear 2.3 children on average and have fewer abortions than their Russian counterparts. In Moscow, Tatar women have 6 children and Chechen and Ingush women have 10. In addition, some 3-4 million Muslims have moved to Russia from ex-republics of the U.S.S.R., mainly from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan; and some ethnic Russians are converting to Islam.

These trends point to Christians declining in numbers by 0.6 percent a year and Muslims increasing by that same amount, which will have dramatic effects over time. Some analysts foresee Muslims becoming a majority in the twenty-first century – a demographic revolution that would fundamentally change the country's character. Paul Goble, an expert on Russian minorities, concludes that "Russia is going through a religious transformation that will be of even greater consequence for the international community than the collapse of the Soviet Union." A Russian commentator he quotes envisions a mosque on Red Square in Moscow. The facile assumption that Moscow is and will remain Western-oriented "is no longer valid," he argues. In particular, he predicts that the Muslim demographic surge "will have a profound impact on Russian foreign policy."

Within a few years, Muslims will make up half the conscripts in the Russian army. Joseph A. D'Agostino of the Population Research Institute asks: "Will such a military operate effectively given the fury that many domestic Muslims feel toward the Russian military's tactics in the Muslim region of Chechnya? What if other Muslim regions of Russia—some of which contain huge oil reserves—rebel against Moscow? Will Muslim soldiers fight and kill to keep them part of the Russian motherland?"..............

Enoch Powell .... was he an intellectual or a racist ?

Dr. Pipes reflects on the predictions of  a great thinker who is labelled a racist and  a  bigot by the short sighted and makes a comparison of how frankness is deplored but  the same ideas spoken in  politically correct phrases are welcomed by those who prefer to take their reality  not as poison but as honey.   What a world, eh?

Dr. Daniel Pipes writing at HistoryNewsNetwork:
.. Why Was Enoch Powell Condemned   as a Racist and Not Charles de Gaulle? The French and British empires historically had different premises, with the former (in the Roman tradition) focused more on culture and the latter more on race, hierarchy, and family. This difference took many forms: one finds meals of bifteck-frites in tiny towns in the former French colony of Niger but little English food even in the cities of neighboring Nigeria. Léopold Senghor of Senegal became a significant French poet and cultural figure whereas Rabindranath Tagore of Bengal could never transcend his Indian origins.

Likewise, French and British politicians responded to the initial post-World War II immigration of non-Western peoples to their countries in characteristically different ways. Charles de Gaulle, arguably the most important leader of France since Napoleon, focused on culture while Enoch Powell, a rising star in the United Kingdom, emphasized race. Here are their speeches on the topic, starting with de Gaulle (1890-1970), who spoke on March 5, 1959:
C’est très bien qu’il y ait des Français jaunes, des Français noirs, des Français bruns. Ils montrent ....

In English translation:
It is very good that there are yellow French, black French, brown French. They show that France is open to all races and has a universal vocation. But [it is good] on condition that they remain a small minority. Otherwise, France would no longer be France. We are still primarily a European people of the white race, Greek and Latin culture, and the Christian religion.
Don’t tell me stories! Muslims, have you gone to see them? Have you watched them with their turbans and jellabiyas? You can see that they are not French! Those who advocate integration have the brain of a hummingbird. Try to mix oil and vinegar. Shake the bottle. After a second, they will separate again.
Arabs are Arabs, the French are French. Do you think the French body politic can absorb ten million Muslims, who tomorrow will be twenty million, after tomorrow forty? If we integrated, if all the Arabs and Berbers of Algeria were considered French, would you prevent them to settle in France, where the standard of living is so much higher? My village would no longer be called Colombey-The-Two-Churches but Colombey-The-Two-Mosques.

Enoch Powell (1912–1998), a conservative British politician, gave his “Rivers of Blood” speech on April 20, 1968, in which he predicted disaster because of large-scale immigration of colored people to the United Kingdom. He began by noting what was taking place:
a total transformation to which there is no parallel in a thousand years of English history. In fifteen or twenty years, on present trends, there will be in this country 3 ½ million Commonwealth immigrants and their descendants. … Those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad. We must be mad, literally mad, as a nation to be permitting the annual inflow of some 50,000 dependents, who are for the most part the material of the future growth of the immigrant-descended population. It is like watching a nation busily engaged in heaping up its own funeral pyre.

In addition to ending immigration, Powell called for re-emigration, or the return of immigrants to their countries of origin.

If all immigration ended tomorrow, the rate of growth of the immigrant and immigrant-descended population would be substantially reduced, but the prospective size of this element in the population would still leave the basic character of the national danger unaffected. This can only be tackled while a considerable proportion of the total still comprises persons who entered this country during the last ten years or so. Hence the urgency of implementing now the second element of the Conservative Party’s policy: the encouragement of re-emigration.

He also wanted to end what he perceived as favoritism toward immigrants:
all who are in this country as citizens should be equal before the law and that there shall be no discrimination or difference made between them by public authority. … This does not mean that the immigrant and his descendants should be elevated into a privileged or special class or that the citizen should be denied his right to discriminate in the management of his own affairs between one fellow citizen and another.
On this topic, Powell soared rhetorically:
There could be no grosser misconception of the realities than is entertained by those who vociferously demand legislation as they call it “against discrimination”, whether they be leader-writers of the same kidney and sometimes on the same newspapers which year after year in the 1930s tried to blind this country to the rising peril which confronted it, or archbishops who live in palaces, faring delicately with the bedclothes pulled right over their heads.
Finally, Powell inveighed against integration.
To be integrated into a population means to become for all practical purposes indistinguishable from its other members. Now, at all times, where there are marked physical differences, especially of colour, integration is difficult though, over a period, not impossible.
And on to the finale:
As I look ahead, I am filled with foreboding. Like the Roman, I seem to see “the River Tiber foaming with much blood.”
This speech effectively ended Powell’s once promising political career. ........

Daniel Pipes on Turkey's fragile economy

A fresh look at what can happen to Turkey's economy which we  thought was doing beautifully, but is actually only a heavily made up mask of huge deficits requiring even bigger credit borrowing.

Rebellion has shaken Turkey since May 31:   Is it comparable to the Arab upheavals that overthrew four rulers since 2011, to Iran's Green Movement of 2009 that led to an apparent reformer being elected president last week, or perhaps to Occupy Wall Street, which had negligible consequences?
The unrest marks a deeply important development with permanent implications. Turkey has become a more open and liberal country, one in which leaders face democratic constraints as never before. But how much it changes the role of Islam in Turkey depends primarily on the economy.
China-like material growth has been the main achievement of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the party he heads, the AKP. Personal income has more than doubled in the decade that he has been in power, changing the face of the country. As a visitor to Turkey since 1972, I have seen the impact of this growth in almost every area of life, from what people eat to their sense of Turkish identity.

That impressive growth explains the AKP's increased share of the national vote in its three elections, from 34 percent in 2002 to 46 percent in 2007 to a shade under 50 percent in 2011. It also explains how, after 90 years of the military serving as the ultimate political power, the party was able to bring the armed forces to heel.

At the same time, two vulnerabilities have become more evident, especially since the June 2011 elections, jeopardizing Erdoğan's continued domination of the government.

Dependence on foreign credit. To sustain consumer spending, Turkish banks have borrowed heavily abroad, and especially from supportive Sunni Muslim sources. The resulting current account deficit creates so great a need for credit that the private sector alone needs to borrow US$221 billion in 2013, or nearly 30 percent of the country's $775 billion GDP. Should the money stop flowing into Turkey, the party (pun intended) is over, possibly leading the stock market to collapse, the currency to plunge, and the economic miracle to come to a screeching halt..........

Allahu Akbars and their headchopping terror in the West

Dr. Pipes reminds us of other terrorist beheading incidents in the West....and surprise, surprise,  they are all done by allahu akbars.  Who would have thought that, eh?

Daniel Pipes article at link has the multitude of further links to the various terrorist attacks:
The gruesome murder yesterday  of a soldier outside London by a Muslim convert, Michael Adebolajo, brings to mind that throat slitting and beheading are Islamically sanctioned forms of execution. Although these occur particularly often in the course of family-related crimes – think, for example, of the case of Aasiya Hassan in suburban Buffalo, N.Y., killed by her husband in 2009, stabbed with two hunting knives more than forty times in the face, back and chest, then beheaded – this monstrous form of violence is also used in non-family instances. Some of those that took place over the past decade in the West in chronological order include:

Ariel Sellouk – Houston, August 2003: throat slit attempted but incomplete beheading.
Sébastien Selam – Paris, November 2003: throat was slit twice; his face was mutilated with a carving fork and his eyes were gouged out by a Muslim neighbor who boasted "I killed my Jew, I'll go to paradise."
Theo Van Gogh – Amsterdam, November 2004: shot, throat slit, and five-page paper pinned to his body.
Hossam Armanious, Amal Garas, Sylvia Armanious, and Monica Armanious, – Jersey City, N.J., January 2005: necks, throats and bodies stabbed, mutilation of Coptic tattoo. (A non-Muslim was found guilty of this crime; I do not accept that verdict.)
Brendan Mess, Erik Weissman, and Raphael Teken - Waltham, Massachusetts, September 2012: throats slit, probably by Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the Boston Marathon bombers.
Hany F. Tawadros and Amgad A. Konds – Jersey City, N.J., February 2013: shot, decapitated, hands severed.
Lee Rigby – Woolwich, England, May 2013: run over by car, mutilated, beheaded.

This gruesome list (to be updated as needed) is only part of the story: other characteristically Muslim crimes taking place in Western countries include honor killings, female genital mutilation, and slave holding. These, sadly, are among Islam's contributions to the lands of immigration. (May 23, 2013)

Shariah in action in New York ....

there must be so many other stealth Shariah actions we don't  hear about  because the people involved in such actions are primarily stupid, cowardly Christians.  It's a good thing  the Jewish people are eagle-eyed and loud-voiced about the invaders... while we Christians are sitting back leisurely drinking our beers and martinis and taking it on the chin and begging for more. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!  The only time Christians shout loud and clear is when they see overgrown kids who are paid tens of millions to  kick footballs from one end of a field to the other.  GOAALLL  they scream !!!!  That's all they are capable of articulating ... one loud deafening word.... GOAALLL !!   Then they  plop down on their butts and go back to their barrels of  beer and booze.   Morons !!

Check out the dhimmi Jewish lawyer screaming for the Shariah.  Isn't it strange that Muslims want Jews  to save them  when they get into trouble and as soon as they get out of trouble with the help of said Jews, they plan to kill them anew.  We know the mentality of these kind of Muslims ... but what does it say about the Jewish lawyers who time and time again rush headlong to defend the very people trying to vaporize the entire Jewish race?   And, please ... don't give me that crap about professionalism.  Lawyers and professionalism?! Give me a break !!

Thank the good Lord for  a common sense judge  who ignored the Shariah request from the dhimmi.

Daniel Pipes writing at his blog:
Excluding Jews and Others from Juries Comes the news that Frederick Cohn, the Jewish defense lawyer for Abdel Hameed Shehadeh, asked Brooklyn-based federal judge Eric Vitaliano to exclude Jews from the jury. Shehadeh is charged with three counts of making false statements in connection with his attempts to join jihadis in Pakistan. "Your Honor" Cohn explained in February, "I'm not wild about having Jews on the jury in this case. Given that there's going to be inflammatory testimony about Jews and Zionism, I think it would be hard for Jews to cast aside any innate antipathy. The American Jewish community is heavily aligned with Israel and Zionism."

This news brings to mind the London trial, almost exactly a decade ago, of Abdullah el-Faisal, when the defense successfully excluded Jews and Hindus from a trial jury. Carla T. Main explained at the time in the National Review what happened:
In a bizarre judicial move that has largely slipped under the radar screen in the United States, England's Central Criminal Court, known as the Old Bailey, several weeks ago banned Jews and Hindus (and anyone married to one) from serving on the jury in a trial of Abdullah el-Faisal. The Muslim cleric had been running around England writing, recording, and speaking about his hatred of Americans, Jews, and Hindus, and waxing poetic about Osama bin Laden. He was tried and convicted of soliciting the murder of nonbelievers (read: Americans, Jews, and Hindus) and using threatening words to stir up racial hatred.
It may be difficult for Americans to appreciate just how unusual this act of juror cherry picking was in England, steeped as we are in the high drama that jury selection has become in the United States. But it is worth bearing in mind that in England there is no such thing as jury selection. Jurors are pulled from the pool at random, lottery-style. …

Our know-it-all politicians want to keep us in the dark about stealth jihad

Hmmmm ... how much more are we being forcefully "shielded" from?  Keeping the general public in ignorance of what the madmen of the mad cult are up to is not the way to serve and protect the citizens.
In Canada too, police services across the country, and especially many of the Police Services  in Alberta, BC, Quebec and Ontario refrain from including the names of people arrested and charged... and all such news releases excluding this vital information sends one message and one message only ... the person in  question is a Muslim.

Go to the link to see more updates about other crimes not reported but sent in to Dr.Pipes by readers after they saw his article.

Dr. Daniel Pipes writing at his blog:
A recent spate of killings in the United States of non-Muslims by Muslims has gone unnoticed by the major media. Here are four cases I know of:

Feb. 5: Yusuf Ibrahim, 27, Egyptian born and living in Jersey City, stands accused of shooting, then cutting off the heads and hands of two Copts, Hanny F. Tawadros and Amgad A. Konds, and burying them in Buena Vista Township, New Jersey. He is charged with two counts of murder and with desecrating human remains. He is also wanted for a Sep. 20, 2012, armed robbery in Jersey City in which a victim was shot in the foot.

Feb. 18: Ali Syed, 20, of Ladera Ranch, Calif., went on a shooting rampage in Southern California, killing Courtney Aoki, Mel Edwards, and Jeremy Lewis, then committed suicide. The Orange County Sheriff's spokesman, Jim Amormino, said Syed, described as an unemployed part-time student at Saddleback College who lived with his parents and a loner who "spent a lot of time alone in his room playing video games," left "no evidence, no note, nothing that would explain this very bizarre, violent behavior."

Feb. 21: Ammar Asim Faruq Harris, 26, killed three people on the Las Vegas Strip and fled, is called armed and dangerous. He apparently got into an argument with, Ken Cherry, shot Cherry as Cherry was driving, which led to a collision that killed a taxi driver and his passenger. Harris has a long criminal record that includes kidnapping, sexual assault, and robbery.

Additionally, although the murder took place on July 31, 2012, only at his court hearing on Feb. 21 did public attention focus on Ali Salim, 44, a medical doctor born in Pakistan and living in New Albany, Ohio, who is accused of raping and killing nine months' pregnant Deanna Ballman, 23,  by injecting her with a lethal dose of heroin. He is charged with two counts of murder (Ballman and her unborn baby) as well as rape, felonious assault, corrupting another with drugs, kidnapping, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.............

Daniel Pipes on Comedy Channel

HAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAH ....  the bizzaro world of  PressTV Iran.

Dr.Pipes at his blog:
I appeared on "Press TV," the Iranian-government's English-language television channel on a show someone with a sense of humor called "News Analysis." The 25-minute show was the most hare-brained and loony of my 35 years going on television.

The ostensible topic was the just-signed US$633-billion "National Defense Authorization Act" and specifically its section 1248, "Impositions of Sanctions with Respect to the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting" i.e., sanctions on Press TV itself.

In fact, thanks to the selection as fellow panelists of two left-wing conspiracy theorists, Kevin Barrett and Joe Iosbaker, the show barely touched on anything so mundane as NDAA section 1248. Instead, the audience was treated to such tidbits as 9/11 having been a "pro-Israel coup d'état" and the U.S. government running torture chambers all over the world. Indeed, viewers would have heard me accused of being a torturer.

Watch it for a trip to the fringe.

Although not good for my dignity, I appear on channels like Press TV because they provide an opportunity to reach those who normally would not hear me. I tend to think they are worth the trouble.

Freedom of Speech ... a freedom we should exercise every minute of every day ....

it's good for you mentally and physically.  Way better than jogging and dieting to keep in shape and way, way better than solving cryptic puzzles or playing 7-letter scrabble words to keep your brain cells intact.

Dr.Daniel Pipes writing at FoxNews
....To stop Islamist violence    over perceived insults to Muhammad, I argued in a FoxNews.com op-ed Friday, editors and producers daily should display cartoons of Muhammad “until the Islamists get used to the fact that we turn sacred cows into hamburger.”

This appeal prompted a solemn reply from Sheila Musaji of The American Muslim website, who deemed it “irresponsible and beyond the pale.” Why so? Because, as she puts it, “The solution to escalating violence and hate speech is not more hate speech.”

On a personal note, I have had to learn to live with torrents of vulgar venom, in speech and in pictures alike, from those who disagree with me; you don’t hear me whining about it. More broadly, Catholics, Jews, Mormons, and other faith communities in the West have learned since the Enlightenment to endure vicious lacerations on their symbols and doctrines.

If proof be needed, recall Monty Python’s "Life of Brian," Terrence McNally’s "Corpus Christi," Andres Serrano’s "Piss Christ," and Chris Ofili’s "The Holy Virgin Mary." Or the avalanche of antisemitic cartoons spewing from Muslims.

For an over-the-top recent example, The Onion humor website published a cartoon under the heading, “No One Murdered Because of This Image.” It shows Moses, Jesus, Ganesha, and Buddha in the clouds, engaged in what the caption delicately understates as “a lascivious sex act of considerable depravity.” As the Onion mock-reportingly but accurately goes on, “Though some members of the Jewish, Christian, Hindu, and Buddhist faiths were reportedly offended by the image, sources confirmed that upon seeing it, they simply shook their heads, rolled their eyes, and continued on with their day.”

I asked for the cartoons to be published again and again to establish that Islamists must not chip away at the freedom to mock and insult by hiding behind bogus claims of incitement. Name an instance, Ms Musaji, when biting remarks about Muhammad, the Koran, or Islam have led to riots and murders by non-Muslims against Muslims? .........

.....To cool the temperature, Muslims can take two steps: end terrorism and stop the rioting over cartoons and novels. That will cause the antagonism toward Islam built up over the past decade to subside. At that point, I will happily retract my appeal to editors and producers to flaunt offensive cartoons of Muhammad..........

Essential Sunday Reading: "The Disappeared"

Salman Rushdie recalls the tragedy of  what the world allowed a mad regime to wreck on his life.  After you finish reading his piece (very long and truly fantastic) at the NewYorker, continue on to Daniel Pipe's latest article at  the BostonHerald (link towards bottom of this post)  where he too has touched on the Rushdie affair and various other stuff.... after that .... start  looking  for an anger management class.

Salman Rushdie:
....I inform the proud Muslim people  of the world that the author of the “Satanic Verses” book, which is against Islam, the Prophet and the Koran, and all those involved in its publication who were aware of its content, are sentenced to death. I ask all the Muslims to execute them wherever they find them....
....He was in his second year of reading history at Cambridge when he learned about the “Satanic Verses.” In Part Two of the History Tripos, he was expected to choose three “special subjects,” from a wide selection on offer. He decided to work on Indian history during the period of the struggle against the British, from the 1857 uprising to Independence Day, in August, 1947; the extraordinary first century or so of the history of the United States, from the Declaration of Independence to the end of Reconstruction; and a third subject, offered that year for the first time, titled “Muhammad, the Rise of Islam and the Early Caliphate.” He was supervised by Arthur Hibbert, a medievalist, a genius, who, according to college legend, had answered the questions he knew least about in his own history finals so that he could complete the answers in the time allotted. .....

....At the beginning of their work together, Hibbert gave him a piece of advice he never forgot. “You must never write history,” he said, “until you can hear the people speak.” He thought about that for years, and it came to feel like a valuable guiding principle for fiction as well. If you didn’t have a sense of how people spoke, you didn’t know them well enough, and so you couldn’t—you shouldn’t—tell their story. The way people spoke, in short, clipped phrases or long, flowing rambles, revealed so much about them: their place of origin, their social class, their temperament, whether calm or angry, warmhearted or cold-blooded, foulmouthed or polite; and, beneath their temperament, their true nature, intellectual or earthy, plainspoken or devious, and, yes, good or bad. If that had been all he learned at Arthur’s feet, it would have been enough. But he learned much more than that. He learned a world. And in that world one of the world’s great religions was being born.

They were nomads who had just begun to settle down. Their cities were new. Mecca was only a few generations old. Yathrib, later renamed Medina, was a group of .....

....He hoped for, felt that he needed, a more particular defense, like those made in the case of other assaulted books, such as “Lady Chatterley’s Lover,” “Ulysses,” or “Lolita”—because this was a violent attack not on the novel in general, or on free speech per se, but on a particular accumulation of words, and on the intentions and integrity and ability of the writer who had put those words together. He did it for money. He did it for fame. The Jews made him do it. Nobody would have bought his unreadable book if he hadn’t vilified Islam. That was the nature of the attack, and so for many years “The Satanic Verses” was denied the ordinary life of a novel. It became something smaller and uglier: an insult. And he became the Insulter, not only in Muslim eyes but in the opinion of the public at large.....

Daniel Pipes:
....Mitt Romney rightly retorted     that “It’s disgraceful that the Obama administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.” This argument has very large implications, not so much for the elections but because such weakness incites Islamists again to attack, both to close down criticism of Islam and to impose one aspect of Sharia law on the West.

Terry Jones, Sam Bacile and their future imitators know how to goad Muslims to violence, embarrass Western governments and move history. In response, Islamists know how to exploit Jones, et al. The only way to stop this cycle is for governments to stand firmly on principle: “Citizens have freedom of speech, which specifically means the right to insult and annoy. The authorities will protect this right. Muslims do not enjoy special privileges but are subject to the same free-speech rules as everyone else. Leave us alone.”....

Egypt's misery of the last 60 years ....

and in all probability that misery will increase a hundred-fold ... (that "hundred-fold" is in my opinion , not Dr.Pipes') but he does see the rule in Egypt getting worse.  His piece at his blog has  Time mag's pics of King Farouq down to Sadat and his insight on them.

This week marks 60 years since Egypt's self-proclaimed Free Officers overthrew the constitutional monarchy of King Farouq – and the first anniversary when one can imagine the demise of the military despotism that so long has wounded the country. Sadly, its most likely replacement will bring on an even worse rule........

Muslims' second favorite hobby after headchopping is destruction of heritage sites

The blasted idiots are so very illiterate and downright stupid, they even destroy edifices belonging to their own cult.  If not for the fact that they interfere in our lives here in our own countries, these damn fools would be a constant source of never-ending hilarity with their clownish antics and  behaviour patterns that are  funnier than a murder of crows lamenting their dead.   I have seen such a spectacle and it's funny, but only if you are watching from behind a glass window several yards away.

Dr.Pipes at his blog on July 2.   For links to all statements in the list, please visit his blog.
The Islamist destruction underway in Timbuktu (including the tomb of Sidi Mahmoudou, d. 955, and the doors of the Sidi Yahya Mosque, ca. 1400) raises a question: What is it about Islam that so often turns its adherents against their own patrimony? Consider some examples:
The destruction of Hindu temples in medieval India.
The Mamluks using the Great Sphinx of Egypt as target practice and the Great Pyramid as a quarry.
The Turkish destruction of churches in northern Cyprus since 1974.
The Saudi destruction of antiquities in Mecca since the 1990s,
The Palestinian sacking of the Tomb of Joseph in 2000.
The Taliban destruction of the Bamiyan Buddha in 2001.
Al-Qaeda's bombing of Ghriba synagogue in Tunisia in 2002,
The pillaging of Iraqi museums, libraries, and archives in 2003.
The destruction of an historic Malaysian Hindu temple in 2006.
The destruction of L'Institut d'Égypte in 2011.
In addition, some intentions to destroy antiquities (Khomeini contemplated razing Persepolis, a grand mufti of Egypt banned exhibiting statues) might yet be realized. (On the other hand, the story about Muslims burning the ancient Library of Alexandria appears apocryphal.)
Although these examples include both non-Muslim and Muslim artifacts, motives differ in the two cases: eliminating infidel remnants establishes the superiority of Islam, while eliminating Muslim ones establishes the superiority of Islamism. In both cases, the motive is foul and the results are, historically speaking, tragic.

Turkey is drooling for a big bite of Syria

According to Dr.Pipes there is a very real possibility that Turkey might invoke Article 5 of the NATO agreement.  I sincerely hope that if that happens, Canada stays completely out from getting sucked into that NATO blackhole yet again .... if not, I predict the Conservative govt will be totally defeated in the next election.  Canadians have had it with Muslims and their blasted kill, kill, kill.  If Harper takes us to war in yet another Muslim country .... then goodbye Harper and a long goodbye to all the CINOS.

Dr.Daniel Pipes writing at NationalReview
There appears to be agreement on the basic facts: a Turkish F-4 violated Syrian airspace and the Syrian military shot it down over its territorial waters. Further, there is no dispute that the AKP-led Turkish government has for months offered sanctuary and armed the Syrian opposition forces in what amounts to a civil war in Syria between a hideous, brutal tyranny and an increasingly Islamist opposition. The Turkish leadership, even while accepting that its plane violated Syrian airspace, is growling about retaliation.  The Syrian government has done its best to tamp down Turkish anger....

The indoctrinated Chris Christie or How to smell out kissers of arselifters

Thanks to the internet, we are becoming pretty good at detecting, analyzing and naming the RINOs in the USA and the CINOs in Canada.

Dr.Daniel Pipes writing at NationaReview:
A Quinnipiac poll in April showed Chris Christie       as the most popular potential Republican vice-presidential candidate, thanks to his budget cuts and standing up to government employees’ unions. But the governor of New Jersey has a problem, specifically an Islam problem, that can and should get in the way of his possible ascent to higher office. Time and again he has sided with Islamist forces against those who worry about safeguarding American security and civilization.

Some examples:
2008: When serving as U.S. attorney for New Jersey, Christie embraced and kissed Mohammed Qatanani, imam of the Islamic Center of Passaic County, and praised him as “a man of great goodwill.” He did this after Qatanani had publicly ranted against Jews and in support of funding Hamas, a U.S. government–designated terror organization, and on the eve of his deportation hearing for not hiding an Israeli conviction for membership in Hamas. In addition, Christie designated a top aide, Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles McKenna, to testify as a character witness for Qatanani.

2010: After Derek Fenton burned three pages of a Koran at a 9/11 memorial ceremony, his employer, New Jersey Transit, got Christie’s approval to fire him. Protecting Islam at the expense of the constitutional right to free speech, Christie endorsed Fenton’s termination: “That kind of intolerance is something I think is unacceptable. So I don’t have any problem with him being fired.” The American Civil Liberties Union successfully represented Fenton to get his job back.

2011: Christie appointed an Islamist, Sohail Mohammed, to the New Jersey state superior court. Mohammed’s record includes serving as general counsel to the American Muslim Union (which has stated that a “Zionist Commando Orchestrated The 9-11 Terrorist Attacks”), acting as spokesman for Muslim prisoners who went on a hunger strike after being jailed during Ramadan, defending Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative Sami Al-Arian (his indictment, Mohammed said, was “nothing but a witch-hunt”), and helping Qatanani’s legal defense. Mohammed established himself not just as the Islamists’ lawyer but as one of them

Muslim comic book heroes .....as insipid as the Muslims themselves

Those tall tales from the islamic world just don't cut it with us anymore.

I would prefer to read Frank Miller's "Holy Terror" instead of the slop from islamic propagandists and their tools here in the West. His "300" was great and I hope someone has the balls to make "Holy Terror" into a movie too.

Dr.Pipes on the muzzie comedians infiltrating with comics .... the paper kind.:
....Comic books as a method of missionizing for Islam (dawa)?
Yes. One year ago, Harvard University hosted a workshop to teach comic-book artists how to address Americans’ “unease with Islam and the Middle East.” And later this week, Georgetown University will air a PBS documentary, Wham! Bam! Islam!, celebrating a comic book called The 99.

The 99 sounds innocuous. Adweek describes its topic as “a team of multinational superheroes [who] band together to fight the forces of evil.” The American children’s network Hub more fully explains that, “created by noted Middle East scholar and clinical psychologist Dr. Naif al-Mutawa, [it consists of] superhero characters who must work together to maximize their powers. Each member of The 99 embodies one of 99 global values such as wisdom, mercy, strength or faithfulness, and they hail from 99 different countries on seven continents. The series’ superheroes portray characters designed to be positive role models, representing diverse cultures, who work together to promote peace and justice.”

Who can object to the promotion of “global values . . . representing diverse cultures”?

But a closer look reveals the Islamic nature of the comic book. The title refers to Islam’s concept that God has 99 names, each of which appears in the Koran and embodies some attribute of his character: the Merciful, the Compassionate, the Kind, the Most Holy, and the All-Peaceful — but also the Avenger, the Afflicter, and the Causer of Death........

Daniel Pipes: "Israel's Arabs, Living a Paradox"

Paradox indeed !!

...Can Arabs, who make up one-fifth of Israel’s population, be loyal citizens of the Jewish state? With this question in mind, I recently visited several Arab-inhabited regions of Israel (Jaffa, Baqa al-Gharbiya, Umm al-Fahm, Haifa, Acre, Nazareth, the Golan Heights, Jerusalem) and talked with mainstream Arab and Jewish Israelis.

I found most Arabic-speaking citizens to be intensely conflicted about living in a Jewish polity. On the one hand, they resent Judaism as the country’s privileged religion, the Law of Return that permits only Jews to immigrate at will, Hebrew as the primary language of state, the Star of David in the flag, and mention of the “Jewish soul” in the anthem. On the other hand, they appreciate the country’s economic success, standard of health care, rule of law and functioning democracy.....

In which Quebec students decry the increase in tuition fees, South Sudan gets bombed by the muzzie northern govt. and a Russian missile cruiser pays us a friendly visit

....“This mobilization sends a clear message to the government that students will not accept higher tuition fees and will do everything in their power to overturn this decision,” march organizers said in a statement.

But the provincial government, which recently stood firm in a similar skirmish with unions, appears to be digging in its heels again. Mr. Charest said he won't back down on the higher fees, which will increase by $325 per year from now until 2016.

Russian missile cruiser pays a friendly visit to Vancouver port and city.

Dr. Daniel Pipes trying to make sense of Western logic re. the uprisings. The Arab upheavals of 2011 have inspired wildly inconsistent Western responses. How, for example, can one justify abiding the suppression of dissidents in Bahrain while celebrating dissidents in Egypt? Or protect Libyan rebels from government attacks but not their Syrian counterparts? Oppose Islamists taking over in Yemen but not in Tunisia?

Such ad hockery reflects something deeper than incompetence: the difficulty of devising a constructive policy toward a region where, other than in a few outliers (Cyprus, Israel, and Iran), populations are predominantly hostile to the West. Friends are few, powerless, and with dim prospects of taking control. Democracy therefore translates into hostile relations with unfriendly governments.

Both the first wave of elections in 2005 and the second wave, just begun in Tunisia, confirm that, given a free choice, a plurality of Middle Easterners vote for Islamists. Dynamic, culturally authentic and ostensibly democratic, these forward a body of uniquely vibrant political ideas and constitute the only Muslim political movement of consequence.......

Will NATO go to the rescue of South Sudan? The government of Sudan has started BOMBING South Sudan. Remember how quickly UN and NATO took action against Libya? The atrocities in Sudan have been happening for years and most of them are state sponsored. Even after the Christian-heavy South has separated from the largely muslim country, the Sudanese govt's lust for Christian blood has not ceased. South Sudan refugee camp bombed by muzzie Sudan. The bombings killed more than a dozen people.

Fort Hood churning out crazies

Nearly a century ago, in the 1920s, Austrian scientists Friedrich Paneth and Kurt Peters hypothesized a form of nuclear reaction that doesn’t produce radiation. And since then, the theory of cold fusion -- or "low-energy nuclear reaction," as its champions now call it -- has popped in and out the public's eyes, notably hitting the cover of Time magazine in 1989.

Jonathan Koomey, an energy consultant who has advised the EPA, said any extraordinary discovery requires extraordinary proof. He said the E-Cat must be verified by an independent study conducted by scientists who are allowed access to the machine’s inner-workings....

The Pope leans towards Mr. Ignatieff and said, "Do you know that with one little wave of my hand I can make every person in this crowd go wild with joy? This joy will not be a momentary display, but will go deep into their hearts and they'll forever speak of this day and rejoice!"

Ignatieff replied, "I seriously doubt that! With one little wave of your hand....Show me!"

So the Pope backhanded him and knocked him off the stage!

AND THE CROWD ROARED & CHEERED WILDLY!
