When you smell gas, get the hell out of there ....

don't depend on people you have been led to believe know certain things better than you,  to tell you different.  Nobody, and I mean NOBODY has better instincts than we ourselves on what should be the best course of action in any situation that involves ourselves.

....Joe Whisler detected the odor even  before he got to JJ’s Tuesday afternoon.

“I could smell gas from my car when I got to 48th and Belleview,” said Whisler of Westwood, who was meeting friends for a drink after work.
“It was overpowering.”

As he walked to the restaurant, Whisler said, he noticed a pipe in the ground at the alley on the east side of JJ’s that appeared to be leaking gas.
“I could hear a hiss of gas and smell it wafting up,” he said.

He met his friends inside and had a glass of wine. About 5:20 p.m., Whisler said, Kansas City firefighters entered the restaurant and told the owners to turn off their ovens and grills and open the doors to the outside. They did as they were told, Whisler said, with employees “covering their faces because of the odor.”

“I said to the lead fire guy, ‘Shouldn’t we evacuate here?’ ” Whisler said. “They told me no, that they had called the gas company. I saw three Missouri Gas Energy workers walking around outside.”

But the odor proved too strong for Whisler, and he left JJ’s about 5:30 p.m.
“The smell inside was so bad I couldn’t stand it,” he said. “It was unbearable.”

Whisler noticed the same pipe leaking gas in the alley when he left the restaurant. He said about 15 customers were in the bar and some were in the dining room when he left...........

Funny, I didn’t see any sign of an apology from Miss Manners in a lame and deliberately confusing four-page report to Tuesday’s council meeting about the legal matter that very nearly cost Mayor Rob Ford his job.

Figuring integrity commissioner Janet Leiper is a stickler for apologies from those who commit crimes against humanity — and apologies with sincere meaning, at that — I just assumed she would want to do the right thing and admit she, too, was sorry for her August 2010 ruling that ultimately led to the Clayton Ruby legal witch hunt against the mayor.  

After all, as the Divisional Court decision of Jan. 25 indicated — with no room for doubt — Miss Manners had overstepped her authority under the City of Toronto Act when she imposed a financial sanction of $3,150 against Ford for improperly obtaining donations on his councillor letterhead to his football foundation.

I repeat: The sanction she recommended to council in August of 2010 was beyond her authority.

But Leiper didn’t stop at that. Like a dog salivating for a prime rib bone, Miss Manners was downright obsessive in her attempts to make Ford pay.

In fact, the avid cyclist killed many trees hounding him and chasing him down. She sent six requests to the mayor between August 2010 and October 2011 demanding to know whether the lobbyists and donors she indicated should be paid back, had, in fact, been paid back...........

Office of Religious Freedom, Canada .... not to be confused with Ministry for Propagation of Virtue, Saudi Arabia

Did we need an office to officially condemn persecution of Christians??  Do we need to sugarcoat the persecution of Christians in Muslim and pagan lands and make it look like it's not just the Christians who are persecuted and killed by Muslims, but people of other faiths too?

Political correctness from the Conservatives is vomit-inducing.  Time will tell if this additional department attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is instrumental in  doing any good in the countries that carry out hourly acts of atrocities against Christians because their murderous cult religion requires them to do so.

As far as I am concerned,  I can already see this as an additional burden on taxpayers.  Nothing less.

Tunisians unhappy with their Saudi loving Islamist government

Their new leader after the "revolution"  has openly said that ultimately, Tunisia will be an  Islamist state.  I know, I know .... that's not news to us, but most of  the so called "secular" folks there don't seem to think that their cult is highly contagious and lethal.  The few thousand protesting now will soon become a few hundred and pretty soon Tunisian women will be shopping for black sacks.  Wait and see.

From his interview with Tunisian TV,  it is apparent that the imams in the Tunisian mosques are instigating young Tunisians to go "perform" jihad in Syria.

I wonder if the same thing is happening in the mosques in Canada too.  The imams here will be more secretive  about such demands/requests  ...  and probably talk about jihad in small "by invitation only" sessions..... but knowing the Muslim mind-set like many of us  do by now, take it for granted that these kind of discussions must have been happening, are happening and will continue to happen.

Energy supplies in some parts of the UK are heading 'downhill fast' but the mad insane project to gradually close down all coal power stations, is in full swing.   Something in the water we drink or in the air we breathe is driving a lot of people walking the corridors of power, people  who make these decisions, go stark raving mad.

Many different plans to fill that huge gap are in place. They are complex and they are fraught as we have discussed here before. And they will only plug the hole in the long term, leaving a big gap in the next few years.
Alistair Buchanan, the boss of Ofgem, today warns that the inevitable consequence is a rising reliance on sometimes risky gas imports, and even more price rises on our already expensive bills.

 ....So what is behind the new urgency in the warnings about keeping the lights on? The boss of Ofgem, the energy regulator, has just been telling me it is because coal power stations like Kingsnorth in Kent are closing earlier than planned.
Curiously the reason they are doing so is not because they haven't been making money, but because they have been making too much.
Power stations are only licensed to run for a certain number of hours, and the market for coal power has been so good that they have burned through their allotted life span faster than expected.
At the other end of the market, Ofgem says the Government will have to look at subsidising new nuclear, renewables and gas one way or another to make it financially viable to build.
Although demand is certainly there, the upfront costs of new infrastructure are so enormous that it is unlikely the power stations we desperately need can be built without it.........

More than 100 men from the mainly Muslim southern Philippines came ashore in the Malaysian state of Sabah on Borneo early last week demanding to be recognized as representatives of a sultanate that has historical claims on the area.
Their claims touch on an unresolved territorial question between the Philippines and Malaysia, as well as Manila's efforts to improve relations with Islamic insurgents in the country's south after decades of violence.
Malaysian police and armed forces soon surrounded the village in the eastern Sabah district of Lahad Datu where the men had gathered. Police officials said they were negotiating with the group in an effort to persuade its members to return to their homes in the Philippines peacefully.
The Philippine government also urged them to come back to the country, saying it hadn't authorized their voyage. There was no indication of a resolution to the standoff on Monday.
The men claim to be the Royal Army of the Sultanate of Sulu, which once encompassed Sabah, and say they don't want their people to be sent away from the area, Malaysian authorities said. There are conflicting claims about to what extent the men are armed......

But the trip, planned for April, has raised concerns among Libyan politicians and arms control campaigners who have demanded to know which companies will be on board and what kind of equipment they will be attempting to sell.

So far, UK Trade and Investment, the government agency organising the arms fair, has refused to disclose the businesses likely to be exhibiting, saying this would give European competitors an advantage.

UKTI said no weapons would be offered for sale and the Libyans would only be shown specialist equipment to help with port security and maintenance, as well as ribbed inflatable boats for patrolling the harbour, and uniforms.

Yet prominent Libyans have raised fears that the race to win defence contracts could lead to equipment getting into the wrong hands in a country where the government has a tenuous grip on security........

Islamic Apartheid Week

Let's all bow down to the "astronomers" who are confident of exactly when asteroids and meteors will visit us ....

after all, a big percentage of us did bow down until recently to the "scientists" who gave us the textbook on climate warming, didn't we?  So, what can go wrong if we put our faith into these astro-logers.   Their crystal ball is just as good as was the crystal ball of the hockey stick nincompoops.

NASA and the astronomers on the government payrolls of  Russia, Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand, the UK  and everywhere else  are running off at the  mouth about how it was difficult to see a 10 tonne, 100 metres wide meteor hustling towards earth.  What a bunch of  losers !!  More often than not, amateur astronomers with  store bought telescopes and  a zeal not found in the government paid astronomers, find new stars and spy meteors coming our way.

There is no dignity or love for one's role in the scientific profession any more.... just like other professions that have gone downhill, so too has the space science departments.

The Russian meteor has people asking why NASA  scientists did not see it coming. Many people were watching the oncoming 2012 DA14 asteroid, which passes by this afternoon EST, but completely missed the Russian meteor.

The Russian meteor is estimated to weigh about 10 tons and be about 100 meters wide. Scientists think it was traveling at a velocity of approximately 33,000 mph before shattering between 18 to 32 miles above the Earth, releasing several kilotons of energy which is the equivalent of a small nuclear bomb. As a comparison, the nuclear bomb dropped on Hiroshima released 15 kilotons of explosive energy......

Hands up the few hundred Canadians who know we have had an Aboriginal Affairs ministry with a real live Minister at the helm .

I knew we had one but the name of the Minister was a well kept secret as the man perhaps dwelt in the deepest depths of whatever cave he preferred to dwell in while feasting dieting on some special kind of  fish soup.

Conservatives have quite the few skeletons rattling in their cupboard too ... goes to prove everybody rots once they get to the top of the pile ... not just six feet under.

....Mr. Duncan announced late on Friday that he was quitting his post because of a 2011 letter he wrote to the Tax Court of Canada on behalf of a constituent.....

Qatar hands over Syrian embassy to the terrorist opposition.
Qatar has handed the Syrian embassy building in Doha to the National Coalition, Syria’s main opposition group, a statement said on Wednesday.
“Qatar has decided to hand over the Syrian embassy building in Doha to Mr Nizar Al Haraki after his appointment as ambassador to Doha for the National Coalition,” the Coalition statement said.
“Qatar has acted faster than the Friends of Syria coalition,” the opposition statement said, in reference to a string of Western and Arab states, along with Turkey, which support the revolt against Syrian President Bashar Al Assad.
“The flag of the revolution will be raised above the building,” the Syrian National Coalition added.

Hundreds Kidnapped In Syria:   Britain's Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Reports 300 Abducted.   A rural patch of north Syria has been shaken by a series of tit-for-tat, sectarian kidnappings, anti-regime activists said Saturday, highlighting how much the country's civil war has enflamed tensions between different religious groups.
While all activists agreed that kidnappings had spiked in recent days between armed men in neighboring Shiite and Sunni Muslim villages, reports of the numbers kidnapped by both sides ranged from a few dozen to more than 300.
The kidnappings and the raw feelings they have provoked bode ill for the chances of reconciliation between Syrians, many of whom have come to see the civil war as either a sacred battle to advance their faith or a mortal struggle for the survival of their sect.
Since Syria's crisis began with protests calling for political reforms in March 2011, it has gradually grown more sectarian. Most of the rebels who have taken up arms to topple the regime of President Bashar Assad are from Syria's Sunni majority. Assad himself is an Alawite, an offshoot of Shiite Islam, and has heavily stocked his security forces with fellow Alawites and Shiites.
The rise of Islamic fundamentalists among the rebels makes many among Syria's minorities – including Alawites, Shiites, Christians, Armenians and others – fear that a rebel victory could leave them with no place in Syria.........

An activist group says a bombing of a military factory in central Syria this week has killed 54 people.
Rami Abdul-Rahman of the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Friday that the bombing took place in a government-controlled area Wednesday and that reports on it were slow to emerge.
He says a mini-van packed with explosives blew up near the factory in the village of al-Buraq while employees were waiting for busses after work. Abdul-Rahman says those killed included 11 women and that all were civilians. He says the factory makes military supplies, but not weapons.
Syria’s state news agency reported the blast on Wednesday evening, saying “terrorists” detonated a car bomb near a factory. It said there was an unspecified number of casualties.

....Rebels pressed an offensive in northern Syria on Saturday, attacking Aleppo airport and two airbases, as a rights watchdog and residents reported hundreds of people held in a string of sectarian kidnappings.
Regime troops fended off fierce rebel onslaughts around Aleppo International Airport and the adjacent Nayrab military airbase, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.
East of Aleppo, rebel attacks around the Kwiyres military airbase sparked counter-strikes from regime warplanes.
The insurgents launched the “Battle of the airports” on February 12, and have since seized Al Jarrah military airport and a military complex tasked with securing Aleppo’s civilian airport.
Rebels on Saturday also overran a military police checkpoint in the Golan Heights town of Khan Arnabeh just beyond the outer ceasefire line along the demilitarised zone bordering Israel, the observatory said.
Regime forces responded by shelling Khan Arnabeh and the nearby village of Jubata Al Khashab, inside the ceasefire zone, forcing a rebel retreat.
The Israeli military said it had taken five Syrians wounded in clashes on the Golan to a hospital within Israel.
An Israeli military spokeswoman said “soldiers provided medical care to five injured Syrians adjacent to the security fence” on the strategic plateau.......

Navi Pillay, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, now says that the toll is "probably now approaching 70,000," an increase of 10,000 from the end of November, when a U.N.-commissioned report found 60,000 individual instances in which a name, date and location of death could be determined. The data set from that report suggested that the true number of dead in the Syria conflict was even higher than that, and one of the report's authors told The Atlantic that the figure was "a very conservative under-count." Pillay's 70,000 number has some relationship to two unknown figures: the number of deaths that can be estimated given currently available information, and the actual number of deaths in the conflict, a total which might not be known for several years (if it is ever conclusively known at all). Both of these numbers are higher than 70,000. Perhaps they're even much higher.....

At times like these, sceptics have to lay low and not breathe a word.  Let the fans of  the French seer and believers of  other prophecies  go nuttier than usual ... this is surely their time to shine.  Meteorites in Russia, California and Cuba and the big daddy, asteroid  2012 DA12 ... all within a 48 hour timeline.

Cuba, too, reports powerful meteorite explosion. Cuba apparently experienced a phenomenon similar to the meteorite that detonated over Russia this week, island media reported, with startled residents describing a bright light in the sky and a loud explosion that shook windows and walls.
There were no reports of any injuries or damage such as those caused by the Russia meteorite, which sent out shockwaves that hurt some 1,200 people and shattered countless windows.
In a video from a state TV newscast posted on the website CubaSi late Friday, unidentified residents of the central city of Rodas, near Cienfuegos, said the explosion was impressive.
"On Tuesday we left home to fish around five in the afternoon, and around 8:00 we saw a light in the heavens and then a big ball of fire, bigger than the sun," one local man said in the video.
"My home shook completely," said a woman. "I had never heard such a strange thing."
Marcos Rodriguez, whom the video identified as a specialist in anthropology, said all signs point to a meteorite.....

All this reminds me of an odious member from my extended family who has a quote from the Bible for anybody and everybody he sees as going against the wishes of God. I  had no idea that the Bible focused on your very own sinful Maria on many a page until the seer from my family tree pointed it out to me.  HAHAHAHHA

Many a time,  as  religious scholars love to point out,  an upheaval in the Catholic Church  also coincides with  earthquakes, floods and other calamities. Those and other signs are sent to tell mankind that the  big  honcho in the sky is mad with us.   Just coincidences?  I don't know ... I am just a puny little nobody who thinks I know a lot.

If God is mad with us, it must be because we have let EVIL destroy Christianity in the Middle East ... not only "let" but helped EVIL  destroy it.

Everything points to either France on it's own or with NATO will entrench themselves in Mali

Canada has  committed to "one more month" of transportation support.   HAH !!   Gotta laugh at how nutty the government honchos are ... they would rather go miles across to the other side of the world to either kill or  capture  a  few dozen  allahu akbars  while at the same time importing a thousand times that number into our countries on a monthly  basis.  What can be more hilarious, eh?!

While the ancient city of Timbuktu   was under the rule of jihadists, a 21-year-old woman with almond-shaped eyes called Mamou Maiga accepted a ride home from a handsome occupier calling himself Adama. “He said I was very special,” she murmurs. They were married after he offered her reluctant family a large dowry. But three weeks ago, as French troops could be spied from the city’s mud-brick minarets, Adama fled. His bride is distraught, her family relieved. Mamou’s younger sister says she hates the jihadists, who for ten months imposed harsh rules, and hopes her fly-by-night brother-in-law will never come back. “Why would you even answer the phone to him?” she asks.

Mamou is unlikely to see Adama again soon, given how decisively French troops chased the Islamists out of the populated parts of northern Mali. Some were struck down from the air as they crossed open desert; the French reckon they have killed several hundred out of an estimated total of 3,000. The rest are hiding in remote mountains near the Algerian border.

France and its Western and African allies are planning the second phase of the month-old intervention. This will try to allay fears that the jihadists, who may still have support in some outlying villages in the north, could trickle back and start a guerrilla war. A standard counter-insurgency strategy would suggest that the French-led forces must protect civilians from attacks, ensure that the new authorities are seen as legitimate, then stick around until the fight is truly won. In essence, keep the peace and rebuild the state.

To achieve this the European Union intends to train Malian troops, while 8,000 soldiers from neighbouring countries, of whom more than half have so far arrived, hold the ring. The French hope that by April an African force will have come under the UN’s aegis. Foreign governments will provide cash for development...........

Today's big surprise, out of the blue meteorite strike on Russia

Did the meteorite break up when close to the earth in Russia and fall in several chunks or did the Russians try to intercept  with their own intercepting devices?  Whatever the case might be,   there are definitely multiple  explosions heard on the video below which will give rise to many wondering if the Russians were that quick on the take and have extremely high calibre weaponry for such events.

Saudi Arabia's women are shaking themselves awake

The Kuwaiti protests have made their way into Saudi Arabia too .... but of course the MSM won't tell you nothing about them.  We should be elated that the woman of the underclass in Saudi Arabia are making a stand.  The rich women there are hardly found in that shariah country for more than a few weeks a year ... the rest of the time they live it up minus their black sacks on yachts sailing the French Riviera or  shopping non-stop in Bond Street, London.

Three women still detained following protests  in Saudi Arabia on Saturday 9 February should be released immediately and unconditionally, Amnesty International said today.
The protests were held in Riyadh and Buraida, a city north of the capital, to call for the release of relatives detained without charge or trial or held beyond the expiry of their sentences.
Around a dozen women and five children protested outside the Riyadh offices of Saudi Arabia’s National Society for Human Rights, a human rights body set up by the authorities in 2004, after they attempted to meet with officials in the office but were told they were not available.
Women protesters told Amnesty International that they were surrounded by police cars after they took out their placards to protest. Buses were brought into the area, and a total of 25 police cars surrounded the area. Some of the women were reportedly beaten and their placards taken by force. One woman fell in a nearby hole in the ground as a result of the attack. A 12-year-old boy, whose father has been detained without charge or trial for 10 years, was beaten and had the placards he was carrying taken from him by force.

Fatima al-Misnid, daughter of Bahia al-Rashudi, who continues to be detained at al-Malaz prison in Riyadh, told Amnesty that about 10 female guards surrounded her and beat her until she fell on the floor before being dragged onto the bus.
Around 13 individuals were arrested and taken to the General Directorate of Investigation at around 3pm and interrogated three times without a lawyer present. They were asked about who they were, who was leading their group, how they co-ordinated their activities and if they had Twitter accounts. One woman was reportedly asked by an official if she knew that protests were forbidden under Shari’a (Islamic law), to which she responded there are different opinions on this.
The women and children were apparently not provided with food until around midnight after the women had pleaded with officials on behalf of their children. Later that night, at around 1.30am, some of the women and all of the children were released.



Three women continue to be detained in al-Malaz prison and reportedly have no access to their families; they are expected to be referred to court. Apart from Bahia al-Rashudi, the daughter of 76-year-old prominent reformist Dr Suliaman al-Rushudi, those detained are Hanan al-‘Amereeni and Hameeda al-Ghamidi. Amnesty International considers these women to be detained solely for the peaceful exercise of their right to freedom of expression and assembly and therefore prisoners of conscience; the organization calls for their immediate and unconditional release.

Dr Suliaman al-Rashudi was arrested on 12 December, two days after he had given a lecture in an informal social gathering on the legality of holding demonstrations in Shari’a. He is one of 16 men who were found guilty in November 2011 on a range of serious charges related to their peaceful human rights activism and sentenced to lengthy prison terms. In January 2013 the men were offered a royal “pardon” if they signed a pledge to not repeat their offences or engage in public activism and thank the King. Dr al-Rashudi and six others refused to sign such a pledge and consequently continue to be detained. Amnesty International considers them to be prisoners of conscience and has called for their immediate and unconditional release.

The protest organized on 9 February in Buraida was held outside the Board of Grievances, an administrative court with jurisdiction to consider complaints against the state and its public services. At least 15 women and 10 children were reported to have been arrested by the police. Most were taken to the main police station in Buraida, but some of those under the age of 30 were taken to the girls’ section in the Social Welfare Home; at the end of the day they were all transferred to the General Prison in Buraida. All of the women and children were released without charge at around 11.30pm on 11 February....

Rebels funded by Judeo-Christian nations destroy Syria's historical past including Christian heritage....

and for that the thinking world will never  forgive nor forget the names of  the leaders of  the Judeo-Christian nations at this particular point in our planet's history.  History belongs to all of us and Syria is important not only to the Syrians, irrelevant of  their faith,  the land is also important  to followers of Christ  because it is rich in the proofs and findings of the past of Jesus Christ and the past history of his family and apostles.

The "murderous Assad regime"  as the media and our leaders take pains to drum into us,  was the  same "murderous regime" that has been  responsible for safe keeping of this precious history and it has been this same "murderous regime" who took that  task seriously by allocating millions of dollars for the upkeep of monasteries, churches, museums, heritage buildings and the like.  Now,  in the hands of NATO-funded  terrorists, the centuries of irreplaceable  relics and antiquities along with their history are no more.  This is nothing but wilful destruction of Christianity by Judeo-Christian nations in the Muslim land of Syria.

Hope historians will tell the truth about  this most dastardly deed committed by the Judeo-Christians nations with supposedly "Christian" leaders at the helm of most of them.

The rebels, struggling to finance their effort, have joined an emerging trade in illicitly acquired Syrian artifacts and antiquities, selling off the country’s past as the war for its future intensifies.

“Some days we are fighters; others we are archaeologists,” Jihad Abu Saoud, a 27-year-old rebel from the Syrian city of Idlib, said in an interview in this northern Jordanian city. Saoud claimed to have recently uncovered tablets from the Bronze Age city of Ebla inscribed in the Sumerian script.

Since the onset of the conflict in Syria, the international community has expressed alarm over the fate of the country’s diverse heritage landmarks and stunning archaeological sites, as rebel and government forces have transformed historical treasures such as the 1,000-year-old Aleppo souk and the crusader castle Crac des Chevaliers into theaters of war.

As the war nears its third year, the United Nations and conservationists warn that Syria’s historical sites face a new and more dangerous threat: a sophisticated network of smugglers and dealers — prime among them members of the cash-strapped insurgency — looking to capitalize on the country’s cultural riches.......

........Twelve of the country’s 36 museums have been looted, according to the France-based Association for the Protection of Syrian Archaeology. In a Jan. 22 report, however, the Syrian Directorate General of Antiquities and Museums said the bulk of the items have been accounted for and transferred to secure locations........

..........“This isn’t just the history of Syria but the history of mankind at stake,” said Maamoun Abdulkarim, head of the Syrian antiquities directorate. Before the conflict, he said, plunderers “were digging at night. Now they are digging in broad daylight.”......

The rebels and Jordanian security sources say most of the illicitly acquired artifacts are smuggled into Jordan amid the daily influx of about 2,000 refugees. They end up on the market in Amman, the Jordanian capital, where merchants have reported a flood of Syrian artifacts in recent weeks.

“Every day we are getting calls about Syrian gold, Syrian mosaics, Syrian statues,” said Mohammed Khalil, an antiques dealer in Amman. “Damascus is being sold right here in Amman, piece by piece.”.......

In their hurry to flee  last month, al-Qaida fighters left behind a crucial document: Tucked under a pile of papers and trash is a confidential letter, spelling out the terror network's strategy for conquering northern Mali and reflecting internal discord over how to rule the region.

The document is an unprecedented window into the terrorist operation, indicating that al-Qaida predicted the military intervention that would dislodge it in January and recognized its own vulnerability.

The letter also shows a sharp division within al-Qaida's Africa chapter over how quickly and how strictly to apply Islamic law, with its senior commander expressing dismay over the whipping of women and the destruction of Timbuktu's ancient monuments. It moreover leaves no doubt that despite a temporary withdrawal into the desert, al-Qaida plans to operate in the region over the long haul, and is willing to make short-term concessions on ideology to gain the allies it acknowledges it needs.

The more than nine-page document, found by The Associated Press in a building occupied by the Islamic extremists for almost a year, is signed by Abu Musab Abdul Wadud, the nom de guerre of Abdelmalek Droukdel, the senior commander appointed by Osama bin Laden to run al-Qaida's branch in Africa. The clear-headed, point-by-point assessment resembles a memo from a CEO to his top managers and lays out for his jihadists in Mali what they have done wrong in months past, and what they need to do to correct their behavior in the future.

Droukdel, the emir of al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb, perhaps surprisingly argues that his fighters moved too fast and too brutally in applying the Islamic law known as Shariah to northern Mali. Comparing the relationship of al-Qaida to Mali as that of an adult to an infant, he urges them to be more gentle, like a parent:

"The current baby is in its first days, crawling on its knees, and has not yet stood on its two legs," he writes. "If we really want it to stand on its own two feet in this world full of enemies waiting to pounce, we must ease its burden, take it by the hand, help it and support it until its stands."

He scolds his fighters for being too forceful and warns that if they don't ease off, their entire project could be thrown into jeopardy: "Every mistake in this important stage of the life of the baby will be a heavy burden on his shoulders. The larger the mistake, the heavier the burden on his back, and we could end up suffocating him suddenly and causing his death."...........

.........The reason for this is now clear in his letter: Droukdel asks his men to lower their profile, and allow local groups to take center stage.

"We should also take into consideration not to monopolize the political and military stage. We should not be at the forefront," he says. "Better for you to be silent and pretend to be a `domestic' movement that has its own causes and concerns. There is no reason for you to show that we have an expansionary, jihadi, al-Qaida or any other sort of project."..........

Without Warning

How our efforts in Afghanistan are rewarded by the "grateful" Afghans

Nation building in hostile lands is a totally wasted exercise but the West will never ever learn because we are plagued with the worst kind of politicians.

Here's just one story. One terrible story replayed over and over and over.

The killer of this great American hero in another green on blue attack was Aynoddin, the 19 year old "tea boy" of Afghan District Police Chief Sarwar Jan. He was immediately captured following the shooting of Lance Cpl. Greg Buckley Jr and three of his fellow Marines. "I just did jihad" Aynoddin proudly shouted over and over.......

...........Sunday evening I had the great honor of receiving the Patriot of the Year Award before a packed house of well over 200 people at the nation’s oldest Republican Club, the Queens Village Republican Club. I received a beautiful plaque that also featured a clock, which I thought apropos in light of our AFDI pro-freedom ads that just ran on 240 clocks throughout the New York subway system, and a citation from the New York City Council recognizing me as Patriot of the Year.

The event was illuminating in many ways. One speaker insistently emphasized that all religions teach the same core values, and another heralded our “nation building” efforts in Afghanistan. But then something happened that showed all that up as the politically correct nonsense that it is: the club presented a Supreme Sacrifice award to the family of Lance Cpl. Greg Buckley Jr., who was murdered by one of our Afghan “allies” while working out in the base gym after a long day of work “nation building” among those allies in Afghanistan. Cpl. Buckley’s father spoke with heart-rending intensity, his voice breaking, about his love for his son, and revealed what his son had told him before he was killed: that the Afghans were not like Americans. They were cold-hearted; they had no gratitude for the Americans no matter now much the Americans did for them; and – most wrenching of all – that he didn’t think he was going to get out of Afghanistan alive.

Cpl. Buckley was murdered two days before he was scheduled to have come home. An Afghan police captain handed his weapon to his “t-boy,” his 19-year-old male companion who had followed him everywhere and done his bidding (in all things) for at least seven years. The Americans, including Cpl. Buckley, were unarmed: they were not permitted to carry weapons on the base, lest they antagonize our Afghan “allies.” The Afghans, in contrast, strutted around with AK-47s. The t-boy used his to shoot Cpl. Buckley in the chest and murder several other Americans before he was subdued.

Buckley’s father found all this out on his own, because our military wouldn’t investigate. He discovered the serial number of the AK-47, tracing it to the Afghan captain, and asked American authorities to arrest and prosecute him. The Americans did nothing. The murderer walked free; to have apprehended him would have again offended our Afghan “allies.” Buckley’s father demanded justice. And he deserves justice. But he has been met with silence.

I wish I could say that I listened to this grieving, weeping father (a tough guy) in amazement, just as most in the audience did. But I was not amazed. This is what I have been warning against for years. The story of Lance Cpl. Buckley is a horrific illustration of exactly why the Obama administration is so wrong, and so criminal, to ignore and obfuscate and deny the reality of jihad and the truth about Islam. Our Afghan policy is based on the core assumption that Islam is peace and that the Afghans are grateful for our “nation building” and happy to help us. Anyone who dares to suggest that the Afghans view us as filthy kuffar who need to be killed, converted to Islam, or subjugated is denounced as a racistislamophobicantimuslimbigot. But what it really amounts to is putting a deadly American-made weapon into the hands of an enemy whose sole objective is to destroy our very way of life and kill anyone who gets in the way of that jihadi objective.

Cpl. Buckley’s death shows that our official stance on Islam is not true. And that it is dangerous and evil, and is putting our American troops in harm’s way needlessly and wantonly. If Cpl. Buckley had gone into Afghanistan with realistic rules of engagement and armed with an honest exposition of the reality of Islam, he would never have been unarmed in the presence of AK-wielding jihadists. His commanding officers wouldn’t have dared to command him to do such a thing. They wouldn’t have been pretending that these jihadists were our allies in the first place. And they would not be pouring American blood and treasure into a futile and self-defeating attempt at “nation building” among people who will never respect, never accept, and never be grateful for the supreme sacrifices of heroes like Cpl. Buckley and so many others like him........

Marco Rubio: "God has a funny way of reminding us we are human"

Matt Drudge has become USA's  #1 comedian. His page heading yesterday   "Watergate 2013" with pics of Obama and Hillary sipping water during speeches, with CNN's inane remark about whether Rubio's political career was over because of the sip ....  had me laughing aloud.

What is totally priceless however, is Rubio saying "God has a funny way of reminding us we are human"  to explain his need for water during his speech.

Rubio's PAC Sells Water Bottles  In response to the outrage over Marco Rubio's decision to drink water during his response to the State of the Union Address, his PAC, Reclaim America, has begun selling water bottles.

"If you had an opportunity to watch Marco's Response to the State of the Union last night, you were undoubtedly energized by his message of upward mobility, free enterprise and limited government," writes Rubio's PAC in an email.

"If you've watched the media coverage since, you might think that Marco spent the entire time gulping gallons of water.  The liberals and the pundits flocking to Twitter and blanketing MSNBC can't stop talking about what it means that Marco stopped and took a drink of water in the middle of his speech. Why would they be so focused on a man reaching for water instead of on what he said?  Because they know they can't effectively tear down his message. So they will try and distract from it. What he said was too conservative, too convincing and frankly too inspiring for some in the media and their liberal allies. So instead of attacking his message they attack the messenger.  We've seen it before but it won't work this time.

Pakistanis' approval of the leadership of their ostensible ally, the United States, has historically been quite low. However, perceptions began to change, albeit modestly, through much of Obama's first term. As recently as May 2011, 27% of Pakistanis approved of U.S. leadership, the apex of support. Noticeably, approval declined after the May 2011 killing of Osama bin Laden, carried out by the U.S. military without the assistance of the Pakistani military -- an event that many Pakistanis viewed as a blatant disregard for Pakistani sovereignty.

These findings are based on a survey conducted from Sept. 30-Oct. 16, 2012, in Pakistan. The survey directly followed massive demonstrations against the release of an anti-Muslim film made in the U.S.....

Far too late for Brits trying to brush off cobwebs from brain and eyes ... far too late

In a way, I am glad that we in North America have Britain and the rest of the EU as examples of what can happen to us  too if  we don't employ and deploy drastic measures with the utmost haste without giving two hoots about political correctness.  If  we in Canada cannot learn from the mistakes of the UK and the EU .... then we deserve to be taken over by the Caliphate and their foot soldiers... the fucking Left.

...Foreigners are taking advantage of the NHS, David Cameron says Foreigners are taking advantage of the NHS and should only get free treatment if they have been paying taxes, David Cameron has said.  
The Prime Minister said Britain is "not tough enough right now" about stopping health tourists coming to Britain to use the NHS.
Speaking to workers at B&Q in Eastleigh, Mr Cameron said the health service should not be free for foreigners from outside the EU. Britain must also get better at charging other EU countries when their citizens use the NHS, he added.
"We're not tough enough right now about people coming from the other side of the world who decide to use our health service," he said. "They haven't contributed in their taxes. They should pay when they use the NHS."
Mr Cameron criticised the current system as he was asked about the pressure on NHS services if a wave of Bulgarians and Romanians immigrate to Britain when restrictions are lifted next year.
"We've made some progress but there's a lot more to do to make sure that while we're welcoming to immigrants we don't allow people to come here and take advantage of us, because I think that does happen too often," he said.........
