U.S. conducts 'counter terrorism strike'  against al Qaeda-linked target in Libya
The U.S. military conducted a "counter terrorism strike" on Saturday night against an al Qaeda-associated militant in Libya, the Pentagon said on Sunday.

The report below suggests that the US airstrikes missed the one-eyed terrorist.
From Stripes
The U.S military says it launched weekend airstrikes targeting and likely killing an al-Qaida-linked militant leader in eastern Libya charged with leading the attack on a gas plant in Algeria in 2013 that killed at least 35 hostages, including three Americans.
An Islamist with ties to Libyan militants, however, said the airstrikes missed Mokhtar Belmokhtar, instead killing four members of a Libyan extremist group the U.S. has linked to the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans......

From BBC
At least 700 people from the UK have travelled to support or fight for jihadist organisations in Syria and Iraq, British police say. About half have since returned to Britain. Most of those who went to the conflict zone are thought to have joined the militant group that calls itself Islamic State.
This BBC News database details the stories of those who have died, been convicted of offences relating to the conflict or are still in the region. Chad Says Boko Haram Responsible for Bombs that Killed 27
At least 27 people, including four suspected Boko Haram Islamist fighters, were killed and 100 others were injured on Monday in two attacks in Chad's capital, N'Djamena, which the government blamed on the Nigerian militant group.
The attacks, which included at least one suicide bomb, are the first of their kind in Chad, an oil-producing nation and a major Western ally which has spearheaded offensives on al Qaeda-linked groups in Maliand on Boko Haram in neighboring Nigeria.
"Boko Haram is making a mistake by targeting Chad," Communications Minister Hassan Sylla Bakari said on state television. "These lawless terrorists will be chased out and neutralized wherever they are.".......

Nigeria's president Muhammadu Buhari is planning to visit Cameroon to cement a regional fighting force against Boko Haram, he told AFP on Monday.
Buhari met his counterparts from Niger, Chad and Benin at a summit in Abuja last week but Cameroon's leader Paul Biya was noticeably absent and represented by his defence minister.
The two countries have long had strained ties, in part over a bitter territorial dispute but also after Boko Haram mounted cross-border raids into northeast Nigeria from Cameroon's far north.
Buhari visited Niger and Chad in his first week in office and said he would have gone to Cameroon's capital Yaounde for talks with Biya had he not been invited to attend the G7 summit in Germany.....

In a Southern Libya Oasis,   a Proxy War Engulfs Two Tribes
Tuareg fighters with heavy weapons patrol the jagged precipice of windswept Tendi Mountain, with its panoramic view over the remote Saharan oasis of Ubari. This mountaintop is the strategic focal point of an ongoing bitter tribal fight between the Tuareg and the Tebu for who controls the town.
A deadly battlefield for nine months, Ubari's downtown is held hostage by Tebu snipers who have blocked the one rutted road leading into town. Homes and businesses are destroyed; families scattered; the airport, once popular with tourists, is deserted; and Libya's sprawling oil fields in the desert beyond remain offline.......

The Number of Migrants   Trying to Reach Europe via Greece Has Surged by 500 Percent
The number of migrants and refugees crossing the Aegean Sea from Turkey to Greece has increased by 500 percent since last year, according to European border control agency Frontex. In comparison, the number of migrants attempting the perilous journey across of the Mediterranean to Italy has gone up just 5 percent, Frontex executive director Fabrice Leggeri said Wednesday.
"When you close off a migration route, another one opens up elsewhere," Thibaut Jaulin, a research fellow at the Center for International Studies and Research (CERI) at Sciences Po in Paris, told VICE News.
European authorities have beefed up surveillance along the Libya-Italy migrant route in an effort to prevent the recurring tragedies in the Mediterranean. Explosion Destroys Ancient Cultural Heritage Site  in Yemen Capital
A protected 2,500-year-old cultural heritage site in Yemen’s capital, Sana, was obliterated in an explosion early Friday, and witnesses and news reports said the cause was a missile or bomb from a Saudi warplane. The Saudi military denied responsibility.
The top antiquities-safeguarding official at the United Nations angrily condemned the destruction of ancient multistory homes, towers and gardens, which also killed an unspecified number of residents in Al Qasimi, a neighborhood in Sana’s Old City area.
“I am profoundly distressed by the loss of human lives as well as the damage inflicted on one of the world’s oldest jewels of Islamic urban landscape,” said the official, Irina Bokova, the director general of Unesco, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization..........

Our Saudi ally, just like our other blood thirsty ally Israel, takes deliberate and malicious aim at civilian residences to kill kids and their moms.
From Reuters
Nine people were killed     when Saudi-led coalition warplanes bombed a district in the Yemeni capital Sanaa inhabited by relatives of ex-president Ali Abdullah Saleh, residents and medics said.
The air raid, which also wounded at least 60 people, came ahead of planned U.N.-sponsored talks in Geneva aimed at ending Yemen's civil war that has drawn in regional powers, including the world's top oil exporter Saudi Arabia.
Residents said the warplanes had targeted vacant houses in Bait Me'yad, a district near the heart of Sanaa that is home to a number of relatives of Saleh, whose loyalists are allied with Houthi forces, the dominant armed faction in the conflict.
Mohammed Yahya, an eyewitness, said two missiles struck two Saleh relatives' houses while the third crashed in the middle of the neighborhood, causing several casualties. Another witness said three explosions shook the neighborhood.
"We felt as if the house was going to collapse over our heads," said the man, identified as Ali Ahmed. "We ran, with the children, and hid under the stairwell. It was terrifying."
Medical sources said nine people who had suffered severe injuries died on arrival at hospital while 60 others were under care at three hospitals in the capital.
The Houthi-controlled Saba news agency said most of the victims were women and children......

Israel exonerates itself   over Gaza beach killings of four children last year
Israeli investigation says missile attack that killed boys aged between nine and 11 was ‘tragic accident’ in findings contradictory to journalists’ reports from scene
The Israeli military has cleared itself of culpability in one of the most controversial incidents in last summer’s Gaza war: a missile attack that killed four children on Gaza beach and injured a number of others.
Israel’s advocate general’s office said the attack, which led to the death of four boys aged between nine and 11 was a “tragic accident”.
An account of the investigation, posted late on Thursday by military spokesman Lt Col Peter Lerner, said the strike had targeted a “compound” which had been known as belonging to Hamas’s Naval Police and Naval Force (including naval commandos)”.
But journalists who attended the scene in the immediate aftermath of the attack – including a reporter from the Guardian – saw a small and dilapidated fisherman’s hut containing a few tools where the children had been playing hide-and-seek...........

More on Israel's chutzpah from Craig Murray:
The Killing of Children.
The Guardian has for once done a very good job of outlining the stark gap between the truth, and Israel’s “report” into the killing of four young children playing by the beach. It may be argued that this terrible tragedy is itself pretty irrelevant given that the Israelis killed 700 other children in Gaza that year. But the maintenance of this ludicrous, macabre and yes, evil, propaganda is fundamental to the self-image of many Israelis. They still contrive to see themselves as the good guys, under constant threat – despite the fact that Israel kills well more than a hundred for every Israeli killed.
This denial of the truth and claim of victimhood extends to the accusation of anti-Semitism trumpeted at every critic, including this one, despite the fact that I have the highest respect for the immense cultural and scientific achievements of the Jewish people. Israel is a different question entirely.
It is this absolute divorce of propaganda from reality that makes Tony Blair an ideal figurehead. Blair has now become head of a Council of Europe (loosely) linked body which claims to exist to promote tolerance, but in fact exists entirely to promote extreme Islamophobia and to shut down criticism of Israel. And it is a further sign of the estrangement from reality of the influential Israelis behind Blair’s appointment that they believe Tony Blair will influence public opinion positively in their favour. A remarkable example of confirmation bias.........

Expanding the Caliphate.
ISIS' South Asia Strategy
For over a year, the Islamic State (also known as ISIS) has been attempting to expand into South Asia. ISIS has developed a loose organizational structure in Afghanistan and Pakistan, provided money to local groups, and adopted a confrontational approach to the Afghan Taliban and al Qaeda—all on al Qaeda’s home turf, no less. Its goal is straightforward: to co-opt disaffected local militants in an effort to build influence and power in the region.
ISIS in South Asia, which it calls the Islamic State of Khorasan, is larger than most recognize, boasting between several hundred and several thousand fighters. And its push into the subcontinent has led to numerous skirmishes with the Afghan Taliban, the largest and best-organized militant group in Afghanistan. In early June, for example, ISIS and Taliban fighters engaged in pitched battles in Shinwar, Achin, and other districts in Nangarhar province....

Now every time we read about "Taliban" attacks, we will have to wonder if it was really the Taliban or ISIS as the headchoppers are already in residence near the border regions.

ISIS’s Wilayat Sinai Attacks  International Base
Recent attacks in Egypt on the one-year anniversary of the fall of Mosul indicate that ISIS’s affiliate in the Sinai may seek to target the Western military forces and the Egyptian state over the course of the next six weeks. ISW assessed that ISIS’s most dangerous course of action during the month of Ramadan would be to attack international forces in Iraq in order to deter U.S.-led coalition involvement in Iraq and Syria. Wilayat Sinai’s attack on the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) airbase at al-Jura on June 9 suggests that ISIS may pursue this operation in the Near Abroad as well, specifically in Egypt over the next 4-6 weeks. In addition the unattributed suicide attack in Luxor on June 10 raises the possibility that Wilayat Sinai may attempt to undermine Egypt’s tourism industry and military in order to pressure and distract the state. This threat is heightened during Ramadan, but also fits within ISIS’s larger strategy to foment disorder and expand operations into the Middle East and North Africa...............

After 11 weeks of air strikes  that have failed to change the balance of power in Yemen, Saudi Arabia is running out of options to restore President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi's exiled government to Sanaa.
Despite the destruction of much of their heavy weaponry, the Houthi militia and army forces loyal to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh control most of the country's populated west and still daily attack Saudi territory with mortar fire or missiles.
The possibility of a ground operation in support of the ragtag local groups still fighting the Houthis in Aden, Taiz, Marib and al-Dhala appears to have been discounted by the Saudis and their allies in an Arab coalition from early on.
Riyadh may soon have to face an unpalatable choice: accept the de facto control of its foes over Sanaa and cut a deal, or keep fighting with the risk of Yemen sinking into total chaos, becoming a permanent threat to Saudi security. .........

The SMM observed numerous ceasefire violations at and around Donetsk airport. The SMM visited weapons holding areas and observed that some weapons previously documented were no longer present, both at government-controlled and “DPR”-controlled sites.
During the weekend, fighting intensified in Donetsk, with substantially more shelling observed. The level of violence in areas around “Donetsk People’s Republic” (“DPR”)-controlled Donetsk airport remains high.
Over a period of two days, the SMM at the Joint Centre for Control and Co-ordination (JCCC) observation point at Donetsk central railway station (“DPR”-controlled, 8km north-west of Donetsk city centre) observed a total of at least 594 explosions caused by incoming and outgoing artillery and mortar fire, as well as small arms and light weapons (SALW), including heavy machine-gun fire. Wikileaks exposes a report dated early 2008 from US Amb William Burns .....

which clearly shows without any doubt whatsoever that NATO knew exactly what would happen if a move was made on Ukraine to get it under Western influence. Knowing what Russia would do, what has happened and continue to happen in the Ukraine now was nothing but a deliberate move to provoke Russia. Why? The powers-that-be and the warmongers know exactly why. It's not for us to know, we are just the stupid ignorant voters who can be swayed like straw in the hot air blowing out of their behinds.

B. MOSCOW 182

Classified By: Ambassador William J. Burns.  Reasons 1.4 (b) and (d).

1.  (C) Summary.  Following a muted first reaction to Ukraine's intent to seek a NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP) at the Bucharest summit (ref A), Foreign Minister Lavrov and other senior officials have reiterated strong opposition, stressing that Russia would view further eastward expansion as a potential military threat.  NATO enlargement, particularly to Ukraine, remains "an emotional and neuralgic" issue for Russia, but strategic policy considerations also underlie strong opposition to NATO membership for Ukraine and Georgia.  In Ukraine, these include fears that the issue could potentially split the country in two, leading to violence or even, some claim, civil war, which would force Russia to decide whether to intervene.  Additionally, the GOR and experts continue to claim that Ukrainian NATO membership would have a major impact on Russia's defense industry, Russian-Ukrainian family connections, and bilateral relations generally.  In Georgia, the GOR fears continued instability and "provocative acts" in the separatist regions.
End summary.

MFA: NATO Enlargement "Potential Military Threat to Russia"
2.  (U) During his annual review of Russia's foreign policy January 22-23 (ref B), Foreign Minister Lavrov stressed that Russia had to view continued eastward expansion of NATO, particularly to Ukraine and Georgia, as a potential military threat.  While Russia might believe statements from the West that NATO was not directed against Russia, when one looked at recent military activities in NATO countries (establishment of U.S. forward operating locations, etc. they had to be evaluated not by stated intentions but by potential.  Lavrov stressed that maintaining Russia's "sphere of influence" in the neighborhood was anachronistic, and acknowledged that the U.S. and Europe had "legitimate interests" in the region. But, he argued, while countries were free to make their own decisions about their security and which political-military structures to join, they needed to keep in mind the impact on their neighbors.

3.  (U) Lavrov emphasized that Russia was convinced that enlargement was not based on security reasons, but was a legacy of the Cold War.  He disputed arguments that NATO was an appropriate mechanism for helping to strengthen democratic governments.  He said that Russia understood that NATO was in search of a new mission, but there was a growing tendency for new members to do and say whatever they wanted simply because they were under the NATO umbrella (e.g. attempts of some new member countries to "rewrite history and glorify fascists").

4.  (U) During a press briefing January 22 in response to a question about Ukraine's request for a MAP, the MFA said "a radical new expansion of NATO may bring about a serious political-military shift that will inevitably affect the security interests of Russia."  The spokesman went on to stress that Russia was bound with Ukraine by bilateral obligations set forth in the 1997 Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership in which both parties undertook to "refrain from participation in or support of any actions capable of prejudicing the security of the other Side."  The spokesman noted that Ukraine's "likely integration into NATO would seriously complicate the many-sided Russian-Ukrainian relations," and that Russia would "have to take appropriate measures."  The spokesman added that "one has the impression that the present Ukrainian leadership regards rapprochement with NATO largely as an alternative to good-neighborly ties with the Russian Federation."

Russian Opposition Neuralgic and Concrete
5.  (C) Ukraine and Georgia's NATO aspirations not only touch a raw nerve in Russia, they engender serious concerns about the consequences for stability in the region.  Not only does Russia perceive encirclement, and efforts to undermine Russia's influence in the region, but it also fears unpredictable and uncontrolled consequences which would seriously affect Russian security interests.  Experts tell us that Russia is particularly worried that the strong divisions in Ukraine over NATO membership, with much of the ethnic-Russian community against membership, could lead to a major split, involving violence or at worst, civil war.  In that eventuality, Russia would have to decide whether to intervene; a decision Russia does not want to have to face.

6.  (C) Dmitriy Trenin, Deputy Director of the Carnegie Moscow Center, expressed concern that Ukraine was, in the long-term, the most potentially destabilizing factor in U.S.-Russian relations, given the level of emotion and neuralgia triggered by its quest for NATO membership.  The letter requesting MAP consideration had come as a "bad surprise" to Russian officials, who calculated that Ukraine's NATO aspirations were safely on the backburner.  With its public letter, the issue had been "sharpened."  Because membership remained divisive in Ukrainian domestic politics, it created an opening for Russian intervention.  Trenin expressed concern that elements within the Russian establishment would be encouraged to meddle, stimulating U.S. overt encouragement of opposing political forces, and leaving the U.S. and Russia in a classic confrontational posture.
The irony, Trenin professed, was that Ukraine's membership would defang NATO, but neither the Russian public nor elite opinion was ready for that argument.  Ukraine's gradual shift towards the West was one thing, its preemptive status as a de jure U.S. military ally another.  Trenin cautioned strongly against letting an internal Ukrainian fight for power, where MAP was merely a lever in domestic politics,  further complicate U.S.-Russian relations now.

7.  (C) Another issue driving Russian opposition to Ukrainian membership is the significant defense industry cooperation the two countries share, including a number of plants where Russian weapons are made.  While efforts are underway to shut down or move most of these plants to Russia, and to move the Black Sea fleet from Sevastopol to Novorossiysk earlier than the 2017 deadline, the GOR has made clear that Ukraine's joining NATO would require Russia to make major (costly) changes to its defense industrial cooperation.

8.  (C) Similarly, the GOR and experts note that.....................

From RT News:
Libyan fighter jet crashes into city block
A fighter jet flying through eastern Libya crashed dramatically in the city of Tobruk on Tuesday, killing the pilot and at least one small boy.
According to theLibya Herald, it is not clear why the MiG-21 fighter jet crashed, but the cause of the accident is suspected to be some kind of mechanical failure.
n a video recording of the incident, viewers can see the jet fly extremely close to the person filming, who was seemingly located on a rooftop in Tobruk. Afterwards, it flies back up in the air before nearly nose-diving as it comes crashing towards the ground. The powerful impact causes a huge explosion and plumes of black smoke to ascend into the sky.

The pilot has been identified as Rafa Al-Farani from Benghazi, though he was living in Tobruk with his family at the time of the accident.

The exact death toll of the incident is also unclear, as there are conflicting reports concerning the crash. Reuters reported that three people died, but AFP is reporting two deaths – the pilot and the young boy. Several people were injured.

Tragically, the fighter jet crashed as it was performing in a memorial ceremony for another pilot, Ibrahim Al-Manifi, who was also killed in a plane crash just a few days ago. Although Operation Dignity – the military campaign against the Al-Qaeda-linked Ansar al-Sharia, led by rogue Libyan general Khalifa Haftar – said Al-Manifi’s death was an accident, militants claim they shot the plane down themselves..........

Libya's Tripoli airport becomes a graveyard for planes

Libya has become a country where hundreds of gangs are running amok armed with weapons looted from Gadhafi's stockpile or from the truckloads sent to them  by NATO for ousting Gadhafi. Was NATO's action intentional?  Was this situation exactly what the USA and her allies wanted?  It can't be that all those NATO politicians holding the topmost jobs in their country couldn't have seen this happening, right?

The Libya that was and the USA-led NATO created Utopia of today

There are all kind of bullies. You have seen them in schools and you have seen them as bosses ... but the ones who do the maximum damage are the bullies found in  NATO under the guardianship of the USA.
It saddens me that Canada had joined the crooks of NATO in this terrible mistake.  Hopefully, the next Prime Minister of Canada will not be a warmongering, regime changer, coup enabler like the ex-superstar Stephen Harper.

In the last few days, many of the Muslim conspirators (traitors) who aligned with the USA and NATO in Iraq and in Libya have been targeted.  I can't say I feel sorry for them.  You can't invite outsiders to come bomb your own people .... no matter how bad it is internally in your country, one has to try to make it better instead of relying on outside forces which often prove to be nothing but malignant towards your country.

Eric Draitser writing at NewEasternOutlook:
....More than three years after the US and its NATO allies unleashed an “intervention” and regime change in Libya, the US establishment admits they maybe have “got it wrong.” Naturally, there were many of us who were demonized endlessly for speaking out against that war, and against all those politicians, analysts, and “activists” on the left and right, who championed the “humanitarianism” of waging war on Libya. We were attacked as “soft on dictators,” “conspiracy theorists,” and “anti-Americans.” And yet, today it is our voices that still proclaim loudly the immorality and illegality of that war. Thankfully, it seems the establishment is beginning to hear us.

One of the most highly regarded politico-academic institutions in the US – the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University – has issued a report which undermines the established narrative of the war in Libya, laying bare the cold, hard reality of what Libya was at the outset of the war, what really happened in the early days, and what Libya has become today. Of course, responsibility for the tragic and lasting effects of that war should be laid at the feet of Obama, Cameron, Sarkozy, and the other participants, in addition to those media outlets and NGOs that deliberately spread lies about the reality on the ground in Libya. All must be held accountable.

The recent report, which is actually almost a year old, was written by Dr. Alan Kuperman, Associate Professor of Public Affairs at the University of Texas, Austin. Dr. Kuperman attempts to shed light on some of the key aspects of disinformation before and during the war in Libya. These important findings contradict every single justification for that war, from the lies and distortions of Samantha Power, Susan Rice, and Hillary Clinton, to the deluge of propaganda from so-called NGOs such as Human rights Watch and Amnesty International. By examining the obfuscations and outright lies told by these individuals and organs of soft power, Dr. Kuperman makes it quite clear that, just as with Iraq, the people of the United States (and much of the world) have been lied into yet another war.

One of the principal lies told about Libya and Gaddafi was the totally unsubstantiated claim of “massacres” by Gaddafi forces in Benghazi and a few other cities. This claim, perpetrated by Human Rights Watch among others, was repeated ad nauseam by every major media outlet. As Dr. Kuperman writes:
Contrary to Western media reports, Qaddafi did not initiate Libya’s violence by targeting peaceful protesters. The United Nations and Amnesty International have documented that in all four Libyan cities initially consumed by civil conflict in mid-February 2011—Benghazi, Al Bayda, Tripoli, and Misurata—violence was actually initiated by the protesters. The government responded to the rebels militarily but never intentionally targeted civilians or resorted to “indiscriminate” force, as Western media clai med. Early press accounts exaggerated the death toll by a factor of ten, citing “more than 2,000 deaths” in Benghazi during the initial days of the uprising, whereas Human Rights Watch (HRW) later documented only 233 deaths across all of Libya in that period.

These are indeed significant facts that merit further examination as they completely contradict the standard narrative of the war in Libya and, most importantly, the justifications for it. First and foremost is the question of who initiated violence. The talking points in Western media all through early 2011 held that Gaddafi was “murdering his own people,” and that this justified a humanitarian intervention, to “help the people of Benghazi.” However, the hitherto suppressed truth is that it was the violent “protesters” (who should rightly be referred to as terrorists within the protests) who actually initiated the violence, using protesters as human shields........

Jon Lee Anderson writing at the NewYorker:
....On June 25th, in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi, the lawyer and democracy activist Salwa Bugaighis was killed, bringing despair to those who knew her. Bugaighis, a bright, funny, courageous woman, fifty years old, was fighting for a democratic, open society. Along with her husband, Issam, and her sister Iman, she was at the forefront of the uprising against Muammar Qaddafi; later, she sat on the hastily declared transitional council that sought to bring order to the excited anarchy that followed Qaddafi’s fall.

As that anarchy turned to bedlam, Bugaighis worked to reconcile Libya’s feuding groups—even as her life was threatened, and as other critics of the militias were murdered. She had been spending time abroad, because of such threats, but came home for the elections.Yesterday, just after she returned from voting in parliamentary elections, gunmen surprised her at her house and shot her to death. Issam, who was abducted in the incident, is still missing. A Libyan friend of Bugaighis told me, “I am shocked beyond words. Sometimes I think that we just fucked up by removing Qaddafi—that I would rather live under a dictator and not worry about the safety of my family.”.............................

80 Turkish citizens captured by pro-Saudi Arabia wahhabi terrorists in Mosul ....

most are from the Turkish consulate.  I thought Al Qaeda and Erdogan were bosom buddies.  Wonder what went wrong.  Wonder if  the news about Turkey and Iran forming new bonds and ties have ruffled the feathers of the powers-that-be that control our world and the terror organizations.

From RTNews:
....Jihadist insurgents have kidnapped 49 people in the Turkish consulate in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul and 31 Turkish truck drivers in separate attacks, Ankara said. Al-Qaeda offshoot ISIS has been advancing on the cities north of Baghdad.

Militants of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS / ISIL) have captured 49 Turkish citizens at the Mosul consulate, Turkey’s Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday. As many as 31 Turkish drivers have also been taken hostage by the militants in separate incidents and are being held at a power station in Mosul, the ministry added.......

....Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan has summoned an emergency meeting of NATO to discuss the security situation in Iraq. Ambassadors of the NATO member states met in Brussels. However, no announcements were immediately made following the meeting.

Erdogan earlier held an emergency meeting with Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Turkish intelligence chief and the chief of general staff, and talked with US Vice President Joe Biden.....

..........A military source told Al Arabiya news channel that Kurdish forces are reportedly fighting ISIS militants in Kirkuk to stop their offensive.

Earlier, ISIS boasted the capture of Iraq’s biggest oil refinery north of the city of Baiji, claiming it had “seized it without a shot.” The oil refinery, located less than 180km (110 miles) from Mosul was one of the strategic objects secured by the US-led forces in the 2003 invasion of Iraq and thoroughly searched for “weapons of mass destruction.” No chemical agents were ever found there.

Reports from the scene suggested that ISIS militants agreed to leave the city and energy installations of Baiji after negotiations with local tribal leaders. The militants allegedly left for nearby villages after torching the city’s courthouse and police stations and freeing prisoners......

USA-led NATO mess in Libya

Informative reading.  All links to statements within article found at first link.

Paul Jackson, Professor of Politics at University of Birmingham
....NATO must take responsibility for spiralling violence in Libya.
Libya has drifted out of our news recently, swamped and obscured by other conflicts. But the repercussions of the NATO intervention, and the subsequent failure of any credible central government to control the powerful militias, have led to a series of increasingly serious incidents.

These include kidnappings (even the abduction of the prime minister), bombings, assassinations (both attempted and successful), and the massacre of protesters on the streets of Tripoli – all this on the watch of a western-installed government charged with protecting its citizens.

Escalating violence over the past few months has led several major oil companies to pull out and expatriate staff, and fuelled fears that Libya’s economic recovery could be delayed as a result. New Libya envoys have been appointed by the UK and US and terms like “civil war” are starting to circulate.

All this after the West declared Libya a victory for liberal interventionism.

Unlike Bush and Blair’s wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the western “victory” in Libya was achieved without boots on the ground and principally by allowing locals to take the lead. Much of the clamour to intervene in Syria invoked the Libyan “success”, and the West’s reluctance to dive into that conflict has prompted accusations of weakness in the White House. The Economist, for example, running the headline What Would America Fight For?

But the violence now mounting in Libya makes it clear this was a serious misrepresentation. Instead, Libya should serve as a warning that an apparently simple military intervention can still have dire consequences – especially for the people who actually have to live with them.

Once Gaddafi fell, Libya was supposed to be free, but Libya now appears to be stuck in a cycle of escalating violence. This reached its nadir when the CIA-linked General Hiftar launched his second coup attempt in three months; the chief of staff called on the Islamist militias to defend the government as the country heads towards elections.

Hiftar was head of the National Salvation Front and enjoys some external support from the US in his opposition to the Islamists. He is also openly supported by the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and by the Egyptian regime of General Sisi, which has shot a number of its own Islamists.

Blowback from Libya has also managed to spread insecurity across north Africa and into the Sahel, where the Sahara desert fades into the Sudanese savanna. The first country to experience this was Mali, where Tuareg fighters returned from Libya armed with military-grade heavy weapons. They tipped a fragile balance in northern Mali when they allied with Islamist groups and marched south, and the violence in the country is still a major regional crisis.

Another group to benefit from this lax arms control was Boko Haram, who have similarly laid hands on a formidable new arsenal brought in to the north of Nigeria via the Sahel..........

On False Flags and NATO's murderous tricks

"Question More"  ....that is RT's slogan.  It's a good one.
The reason why JFK was killed was very well documented in a book I had read many years ago and it looks like a lot of people in the know have arrived at the exact same conclusion.
It's usually the good, God-fearing, decent people, who are the first to disbelieve anything bad that's said about their own governments because simple folks expect everybody else to be as good and honest like themselves and even to this day you will find plenty of people still believing that JFK was killed by just one shooter,  in spite of tonnes of evidence showing otherwise. Most people have the same kind of innocence and naivety when presented with events whose narrator is the government and the govt's mouthpieces ... the MSM.

The Utopia of Libya as at April 29, 2014

What the USA-led NATO has gifted to the world!
How many Libyans are now refugees in Italy?
How many Libyans and other North Africans from Libya's neighbouring countries have fled to not only the EU countries but those with the means and contacts are now in North America?
Why are we screaming for restrictions on immigration from Muslim countries while simultaneously screaming even louder for wars on Muslim nations when we know wars over there mean more Muslim immigrants here to the West?

From Reuters:
....Suicide bomber  in minibus kills two at Libyan army camp.
A suicide bomber detonated an explosive-packed minibus outside a Libyan army camp in Benghazi on Tuesday, killing two people and wounding two more in the second suicide attack since December.....

From YahooNews:
....Jordan has agreed to handover  a Libyan Islamist to Tripoli to secure the release of its ambassador kidnapped in the North African country two weeks ago, Libya's state news agency LANA said on Monday.
Jordan's ambassador to Libya, Fawaz al-Itan, was snatched by gunmen who demanded the release of Mohamed Dersi, a Libyan Islamist militant jailed for life in 2007 for plotting to blow up the main airport in Jordan.....

From GatestoneInstitute
...."The current situation in Libya is a standing invitation for the intervention of foreign powers," according to Saudi-owned Asharq Al-Awsat's deputy editor-in-chief, Ali Ibrahim. Ibrahim writes that armed militias, who often enjoy the support of sectors of local populations, are committing abuses and violations of human rights, while radical Islamist groups are taking advantage of Libya's chaos to transform the country into a home for training camps for militants. "In other words, Libya has become a security threat, with the effects extending even beyond its borders," Ibrahim states......

From DailyBeast:
...A camp on the Libyan coastline    meant to train terror-hunters has instead become a haven for terrorists and al Qaeda.
A key jihadist leader and longtime member of al Qaeda has taken control of a secretive training facility set up by U.S. special operations forces on the Libyan coastline to help hunt down Islamic militants, according to local media reports, Jihadist web forums, and U.S. officials.....

USA warns Libya that "international community" will take over if govt. does not clean up act?

Just like many of us suspected, USA-led NATO has been chomping at the reins to be let off so it can start raping Libya. It's more than possible that USA and her allies probably had this planned all along (see second link for possible confirmation).

Libya is swollen with oil and so her fate is sealed.... she belongs to USA-led NATO.  If you are a legal beagle and worry about the legality of it all... don't worry, be happy. Everything is all very legal because the sealed and signed document is either written in the Bible or seen in the stars.

This is what Americans have been trained to do by the powers-that-be who control us earthlings. At home they grab land from ranchers, and worldwide they either grab countries outright or grab the governments and make them their obedient little puppets.

From MiddleEastMonitor:
....Senior Libyan sources revealed to Al-Araby Al-Gadeed website that the visit by deputy US Secretary of State William Burns to Tripoli two days ago included a warning by Burns that "Libyan rulers should undertake their responsibilities in overcoming the current unrest within two months, or else the country would be taken over by the international community."

The sources confirmed that Burns warned political forces and the government during a surprise visit that if the country's political instability is not resolved within the next two months, US President Barack Obama, in coordination with the European Union, will dispatch a special representative to take charge of the political transition in the country.

Analysts interpreted this warning as a prelude to a step that may place Libya under "International mandate".

Burns visited Libya on Wednesday and met with leaders of the "Revolutionary Room" along with the chairman of the Justice and Construction party, the political wing of the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood, the deputy chairman of the National Congress Gomaa Ateika, and other politicians...........

Diana West writing at WND:
....More than Benghazi skeletons should haunt Hillary Clinton’s expected 2016 presidential bid. It now seems that the entire war in Libya – where thousands died in a civil war in which no U.S. interest was at stake – might well have been averted on her watch and, of course, that of President Obama. How? In March 2011, immediately after NATO’s punishing bombing campaign began, Moammar Gadhafi was “ready to step aside,” says retired Rear Adm. Charles R. Kubic, U.S. Navy. “He was willing to go into exile and was willing to end the hostilities.”

What happened? According to Kubic, the Obama administration chose to continue the war without permitting a peace parley to go forward......

Seymour Hersh's bombshell news: Turkey was supplying sarin gas to rebels ....

and the Ghouta chemical attack where hundreds died might have very well have come from Turkey.  Listen to the other very important clue which indicates  that Syrian sarin gas could not have been the sarin gas used in the killing because the components of the gas used were different than the components use in the manufacture of  sarin gas in  Syria.
America was ready, along with its allies, most of whom were dancing on red hot bricks to go do utter and total destruction of  a sovereign country, based on a false flag incident.  Remember that folks .... and also remember that that's how it was done in Iraq too. Iraq had  "Weapons of Mass Destruction"  ... yeah right!!!!
Fooled us once... Iraq,  Fooled us again ... Libya,  might have done same again .... Syria.

From DemocracyNow:
Was Turkey behind last year’s Syrian chemical weapons attack? That is the question raised in a new exposé by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh on the intelligence debate over the deaths of hundreds of Syrians in Ghouta last year. The United States, and much of the international community, blamed forces loyal to the Assad government, almost leading to a U.S. attack on Syria. But Hersh reveals the U.S. intelligence community feared Turkey was supplying sarin gas to Syrian rebels in the months before the attack took place — information never made public as President Obama made the case for launching a strike. Hersh joins us to discuss his findings.

Wonder how many $$$$$$$$$$$s US prez Bill Clinton and other warmongers made from the sale of Christian Serbs' organs

Wars are created by the money-hunger .... make no mistake about that very real fact.  Wars can make the unsavory and the most vilest of creatures into multi-millionaires for each minute of every day the war lasts.  These parasites don't care about your sons, daughters, husbands, wives, fathers, mothers .... dying on the battlefield.  For them,  the longer the conflict, the more the money they are able to make.

From NewsDaily:
....The European Union said on Saturday  it plans to set up an international court in Kosovo to deal with alleged crimes committed by ethnic-Albanian guerrillas during the war with Serbia.

"The EU is not proposing to establish a tribunal, but rather a specialist court within the Kosovo court system," the bloc's Pristina office said in a statement sent to AFP.

"This court would have a seat in Kosovo, but sensitive proceedings, including hearing of witnesses, would take place outside of the country in view of the nature of the allegations," the EU said.

The court will address the findings of a 2010 report by the Council of Europe's special rapporteur Dick Marty that alleged ethnic-Albanian fighters had been involved in serious war crimes during the 1998-1999 conflict.

It accused Kosovo's top political leaders, including Prime Minister Hashim Thaci and several of his closest associates, of killing some 500 prisoners -- mostly Kosovo Serbs -- in order to harvest and sell their organs, among other crimes.

At the time Thaci was a leader of Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), an independence-seeking guerrilla force that fought the armies of the Serbian strongman Slobodan Milosevic.
The two-year war ended when a NATO air campaign ousted Milosevic's forces from Kosovo, paving the way to its declaration of independence from Serbia in 2008.

The EU in 2011 set up a special task force (SITF) to conduct a fair and independent criminal investigation into the allegations contained in the Marty report.

Led by US prosecutor Clint Williamson, the force "is expected to release its findings by mid-June", a justice official told AFP.

"He hinted that his probe resulted in enough evidence for raising an indictment," said the official, who asked not to be named.....

Movie: Savior

This is an Oliver Stone movie from 1998 ....  before all the madness of pandering to you-know-who was drummed into us.  Dennis Quaid does a great job as the main actor.  If you were  on the Serbian side in the yet another blunder from the USA-led NATO fiasco,  you will appreciate this movie.

Wow! See how quickly EU military initiative is launched to save Muslims in CAR

Does anybody need any more proof of how there is a concerted effort to let Christians die at Muslim hands but to never let Muslims suffer even by even one little iota at the hands of hated Christians?

EU Consilium document:
.....EU military operation in the Central African Republic
launched

The Council today launched an EU military operation to contribute to a secure
environment in the Central African Republic, as authorised by the UN Security Council in
resolution 2134 (2014).
EUFOR RCA is to provide temporary support in achieving a safe and secure environment
in the Bangui area, with a view to handing over to a UN peacekeeping operation or to
African partners. The force will thereby contribute both to international efforts to protect
the populations most at risk and to the creation of the conditions for providing
humanitarian aid. EUFOR RCA will operate in Bangui and in the capital's airport.

The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of
the Commission, Catherine Ashton, said: “The launch of this operation demonstrates the
EU’s determination to take full part in international efforts to restore stability and security
in Bangui and right across the Central African Republic. It forms a key part of our
comprehensive approach to solving the huge challenges faced by the Central African
Republic. I’d like to thank all the Member States and non-EU countries which are working
together to make this operation a success. It is vital that there is a return to public order as
soon as possible, so that the political transition process can be put back on track.” .......

False Flag initiative to enable full scale attack on Syria imminent

Turkey with instigation or pressure and lots of help from the USA-led  NATO will carry out the attack on its own people to give the Turks an excuse to invade Syria. USA and her allies must have told Erdogan to play ball or else many more YouTube videos about corrupt him and his corrupt family are gonna air on a daily basis.  The whole world's a stage .... as Shakespeare said.

I think  the attack and invasion from Turkey's borders would be within the next few weeks.  Watch out for even the most insignificant tongue-in-cheek outright lies and pretended shock and surprise from the pinocchios in the West.  The excuse will be that the Turks have come into Syria to safeguard the ancient tomb of their prophet  which belongs to Turkey or something along that line.

The blog below has its own analysis which might also prove correct.  Each one to their own analysis, I say.

From MoonOfAlabama blog:
Media Neglect Turkish False Flag Attack Leak   And Its Implications
The setting of the recording is this:

The voices of the illegal recording believed to belong to DavutoÄŸlu, National Intelligence Organization (MİT) Hakan Fidan, Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Feridun SinirlioÄŸlu, and Deputy Chief of General Staff Gen. YaÅŸar Gürel. According to the information obtained from sources, the recording consists of a chat between four officials in DavutoÄŸlu’s office before the commencement of the official meeting with the participation of more civil and military bureaucrats in another room at the Foreign Ministry.
It is not clear when exactly the meeting happened. It would fit the situation late last year or early 2014.

The major points from my view:

Turkey has delivered 2,000 trucks of weapons and ammunition to the insurgents in Syria.
There are plans for false flag attacks on Turkey or Turkish property to justify an attack from Turkey on Syria.
The Turkish military has great concerns going into and fighting Syria.
The general atmosphere between these deciders is one of indecisiveness. Everyone seems to be unclear what Erdogan wants and is waiting for clear orders from above.
U.S. military has shortly before the meeting presented fresh plans for a no-fly one over Syria.
Then there is the fact in itself that this tape and others leaked. Internal government communication in Turkey and personal communication of Turkish official has been thoroughly.....

Erdogan's False Flag Invasion Plans Reveled.
An March 23 the AlQaeda affiliated groups Jabhat al Nusra and Ahrar al-Shams consiting of foreign men crossed the border from Turkey and attacked the western Syrian province of Latakia. The seized the Kasab border crossing and the Armenian town Kessab. People there fled as the Jihadist removed the crosses from the Armenian churches and replaced them with their black flag. The Jihadist groups were given artillery support and anti-air cover from Turkey. A Syrian jet on a bombing run against the Jihadists was shot down by the Turkish air-force.

The Jihadist managed to capture several hill sides before being stopped by reinforcing Syrian forces. After the plane was shot down Syrian anti-air radars painted any Turkish flight coming near its border ready to shot them down. Heavy artillery is used against the intruders and they are said to have high casualties. Their wounded get transported to the Turkish border and find help in Turkish hospitals. The Jihadist campaign is clearly in trouble and it may only take a few days until they will have to give up and retreat......

Kabul ... siege of guesthouse ends

Does anybody actually think that there's a bright future for Afghanistan? This country too, will likely go the way of Iraq.  There's that intensity of religious madness over there and when you couple that with their fervent desire for opium, you have a nation that will always be on the edge. Yet another US-led NATO venture of attacking and invading a country in substitution for the real culprit ... Saudi Arabia.  And, how much did Canada waste on Afghanistan?  Is it $10 Billion?  More?

And, how many Canadian lives lost?  Go  here to see the Canadian faces of the sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters ... killed in our 10 year commitment to a place whose citizenry, in their vast majority, don't like us and never will.

From Reuters:
...Foreigners escape Taliban siege in Kabul, one Afghan child killed. Taliban gunmen stormed a Kabul guesthouse used by a U.S.-based aid group and held four foreigners hostage for several hours on Friday, just eight days before Afghanistan holds a presidential election which the militant group has vowed to derail.

Kabul is already on high alert and people across the country are on edge ahead of an April 5 vote the hardline Islamist movement denounces as a Western-backed sham.

The siege of the walled compound, which is also home to a small church, lasted several hours before Afghan security forces killed the last remaining Taliban gunman holed up inside.

At least one Afghan child was killed when a suicide bomber blew himself up outside the building and insurgents forced their way in. There were no casualties among foreigners.

A Reuters witness saw about 20 people being evacuated from the guesthouse in an upmarket residential area of Kabul, many looking frightened and shocked.........

Is something afoot at borders of Turkey and Syria?

The reason behind Turkey's banning of Twitter and the blocking of YouTube could very likely be because  the powers-that-be have now pressured Turkey  into going to war with Syria on a false flag initiative and Turkey's govt. wants to throw a blanket on what's happening at the border regions. The false flags dealing with the chemical warfare and the sarin gas attacks didn't work because of ordinary citizens of the West proving they were mightier than their false gods who strut around in the halls of power.  However,  when the slave of the same gods, Erdogan, marches into Syria on false pretexts,  we won't be able to halt the carnage which might be coming soon.
What is  transparent  can often look murky at first sight. Always read in-between the lines, always.  Take everything that does  not seem to make sense and solve it like you would a cryptic crossword.

From StateGovt. press briefing March 25:
QUESTION: That means you don’t have anything on the military – Turkish military buildup on the border with Syria, too?

MS. HARF: On the specific religious site that he’s asking about, I don’t have --

QUESTION: Yeah.

MS. HARF: What I said is we think this hopefully, the shooting down of a plane is an isolated incident. Obviously we’re concerned about all of Syria’s borders and free flow of people over them and – all of that. We’re obviously concerned about that. What I have said is that we haven’t talked to the Turkish Government, to my knowledge, about the plane incident and not escalating, because we think it’s an incident that took place in an isolated setting and hope that it doesn’t portend anything bad for the future, obviously.

QUESTION: But you don’t want to talk about the religious site?

MS. HARF: I think I just said I don’t have anything for you on that. You can ask five more times, and I will have the same answer. Thanks.

From StateGovt. press briefing March 27
QUESTION:
No. But maybe – let me say it from another perspective. I ask always are you concerned, are you concerned, are you concerned. Maybe I should say: What will be the position of U.S. in the likely Turkish intervention in Syria against ISIS?

MS. HARF: I’m not going to guess in a hypothetical situation about what our position might be.

QUESTION: No, but Director Brennan, for example, raised this issue recently during his testimony.

MS. HARF: He raised certain issues. He didn’t make a – take a position on that issue of that hypothetical.

QUESTION: Yeah, he said that northern Syria, then Syria became the new national security threat against U.S. because of these al-Qaida-affiliated groups gathered there.

MS. HARF: Right. That’s a difference than saying we would take a position, that – he wasn’t taking a position on your hypothetical. We are concerned about the spillover to all of Syria’s neighbors of extremists. We’ve said that for many, many months.

QUESTION: No, I’m trying to understand why you are silent on this issue while Turks are real seriously considering this kind of military action in Syria.

MS. HARF: I’m saying I don’t have anything to share with you right now. Obviously, we are talking to the Turkish Government as a NATO ally about all of these issues. I just don’t have anything to share for you right now.....
