Rob Ford and Amy Winehouse, same same .... says "journalist"

Rob Ford has a great family who  loves and supports him.  So .....even  if he does have, what Mr.Potter thinks are  "pathological cravings", that clique of  loving well wishers will be able to get the Mayor of Toronto off the "pathological cravings" and save him from not only  his supposedly destructive self  but also save him for the sake of his children, his family and also for the sake of this city.  Rehab is when an addict has reached that point of almost no return.   Even if the mayor has "pathological cravings"  he is nowhere near that point.

It's time the Press found something else to write about ... look about you,  there's plenty of stuff begging to be noticed.  Leave the man alone.... PLEASE !

Andrew Potter writing at Ottawa Citizen:
....  By now it is pretty clear that whatever else he may be, Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is a very sick man who suffers from any number of pathological cravings, obsessions and addictions. And like all addicts, he has more than his share of enablers — people who gleefully propel his way down the road to self-destruction even as they pretend to be acting in his best interests.

For the better part of the past three years, pundits, reporters and fly-by-night political commentators have been proclaiming that Ford’s vices are actually virtues, that his addictions are features of his personality, not bugs, and that the brand identity that Ford Nation has been sold on is that he’s “authentic.”

They couldn’t be more dangerously, even criminally, wrong.........

........Imagine if, instead of being an alcoholic, Winehouse had cancer. And imagine she wrote a song called Chemo with the lyrics “they tried to make me go to chemo, I said ‘no, no, no’.” Or if she had an infection, and she sang “they tried to give me antibiotics, and I said ‘no, no, no’.” It would be a joke. But deep down, most of us don’t quite accept that alcoholism or drug addiction are diseases like any other. It’s self-destructive, sure, but there’s also something romantic about it.

When Winehouse recorded Rehab, she was telling the world that she didn’t buy into the notion that her drinking was an illness that needed treatment. When we bought the record by the millions and gave her a Grammy for it, we told her we agreed.......

Here's proof that George Orwell could envisage the future with chilling accuracy

Big Brother is here in all his monstrous glory ... just 16 years after 1984. All this surveillance of phone records, text messaging, emails and internet spying started, first on a small scale,  from even before 9/11.

Find the time to listen to these videos if you want to understand how deep and extensive this invasion of people's privacy has gone and  the dire implications of it all.  I hope we in Canada have not been subjected to this hijack of our  personal data.

Thomas Sowell on the immigrants of today

Worth reading in full.

Dr.Sowell writing at JewishWorldReview:
.... Immigrants from some countries are seldom on welfare but immigrants from other countries often are. Immigrants from some countries are typically people with high levels of education and skills, while immigrants from other countries seldom have much schooling or skills.

Nevertheless, many of our current discussions of immigration issues talk about immigrants in general, as if they were abstract people in an abstract world. But the concrete differences between immigrants from different countries affect whether their coming here is good or bad for the American people.......

......It is hard to imagine Milton Friedman looking for "the ideal outcome" on immigration in the abstract. More than once he said, "the best is the enemy of the good," which to me meant that attempts to achieve an unattainable ideal can prevent us from reaching good outcomes that are possible in practice.

Too much of our current immigration controversy is conducted in terms of abstract ideals, such as "We are a nation of immigrants." Of course we are a nation of immigrants. But we are also a nation of people who wear shoes. Does it follow that we should admit anybody who wears shoes?

The immigrants of today are very different in many ways from those who arrived here a hundred years ago. Moreover, the society in which they arrive is different. The Wall Street Journal column ends by quoting another economist who said, "Better to build a wall around the welfare state than the country."

But the welfare state is already here— and, far from having a wall built around it, the welfare state is expanding in all directions by leaps and bounds. We do not have a choice between the welfare state and open borders. Anything we try to do as regards immigration laws has to be done in the context of a huge welfare state that is already a major, inescapable fact of life.....

.......Among other facts of life utterly ignored by many advocates of de facto amnesty is that the free international movement of people is different from free international trade in goods.

Buying cars or cameras from other countries is not the same as admitting people from those countries or any other countries. Unlike inanimate objects, people have cultures and not all cultures are compatible with the culture in this country that has produced such benefits for the American people for so long.

Not only the United States, but the Western world in general, has been discovering the hard way that admitting people with incompatible cultures is an irreversible decision with incalculable consequences. If we do not see that after recent terrorist attacks on the streets of Boston and London, when will we see it?
"Comprehensive immigration reform" means doing everything all together in a rush, without time to look before we leap, and basing ourselves on abstract notions about abstract people.

Pics from today's anti-terrorism demonstration by Canadian Muslims in Toronto

This is a small step but  kudos to the "thinking" Muslims of Canada   for showing that terrorism is definitely not their cup of tea.  Hope this group makes this into an annual event.  I will definitely plan to attend the next one.

NSA whistleblower tells his story

UPDATE: After I posted this,  I found another video from a previous whistleblower from NSA  (see bottom vid which was posted to YouTube in Dec last year) and for whatever reason that  disclosure did  not blow up like the present one. Prez  George "Islam is a Religion of Peace" Bush somehow kept it all from blowing up.  That's how powerful and influential his family and his supporters were and still are.

I think many whistleblowers have an active conscience.  Many more should come out and make disclosures which are chipping away at our  liberty.   Listen closely to what he says about data being stored for years and years and can likely be used against individuals at a much later date for even receiving or making a wrong numbered phone call.

The individual responsible for one of the most significant leaks  in US political history is Edward Snowden, a 29-year-old former technical assistant for the CIA and current employee of the defence contractor Booz Allen Hamilton. Snowden has been working at the National Security Agency for the last four years as an employee of various outside contractors, including Booz Allen and Dell.

The Guardian, after several days of interviews, is revealing his identity at his request. From the moment he decided to disclose numerous top-secret documents to the public, he was determined not to opt for the protection of anonymity. "I have no intention of hiding who I am because I know I have done nothing wrong," he said.

Snowden will go down in history as one of America's most consequential whistleblowers, alongside Daniel Ellsberg and Bradley Manning. He is responsible for handing over material from one of the world's most secretive organisations – the NSA.

In a note accompanying the first set of documents he provided, he wrote: "I understand that I will be made to suffer for my actions," but "I will be satisfied if the federation of secret law, unequal pardon and irresistible executive powers that rule the world that I love are revealed even for an instant."

Despite his determination to be publicly unveiled, he repeatedly insisted that he wants to avoid the media spotlight. "I don't want public attention because I don't want the story to be about me. I want it to be about what the US government is doing."

He does not fear the consequences of going public, he said, only that doing so will distract attention from the issues raised by his disclosures. "I know the media likes to personalise political debates, and I know the government will demonise me.".......

Turkey's football rival teams team up calling for Erdogan's resignation

Wonder what will happen if  a certain set of agent provocateurs  start doing in Turkey what another set of agent provocateurs  had done with the protests in Syria which escalated those protests  into the madness of  war.  What goes around comes around.

Yet another Muslim killer ........John Zawahri, American citizen

UPDATE:  According to some items on the internet, the last name Zawahri  is found in both Christian and Muslim families in the Arab world.  Chances are this killer was of the Christian faith.

Pretty informative item on the "mental issues"  jihadi John Zawahri (wonder if the family is related to that Al Qaeda honcho Ayman al-Zawahri).  I predict that from now on the MSM will be using the term "mental issues" with all future jihadis.  Wanna bet?

....More details are emerging about the man suspected of going on a violent spree that began at his father's home and ended a mile away in the library of Santa Monica College where students were studying for finals.
Yesterday police said that a bitter family dispute and mental issues could have motivated John Zawahri's rampage on Friday afternoon in Santa Monica, and now we're learning more details about Zawahri and his family.
Zawahri was the son of Samir Zawahri, 55, and Randa Abdou, 54. Coroner's officials have not confirmed it but media reports suggest that gunman's father and brother Chris Zawahri, 25, were his first victims—their bodies were reportedly found in the smoldering ruins of Samir Zawahri's Santa Monica home.

Property records show Zawahri's parents purchased the home near the 10 freeway in 1996, according to the Associated Press. Abdou filed a petition asking for a restraining order against her husband in 1998 for domestic violence, though the request was never given a court hearing, according to The Los Angeles Daily News. Abdou sold her share of the ownership to her ex-husband as a result of the divorce in 2003. News reports indicate that the parents split up custody of their two boys, but there are conflicting reports about who was living with whom. Abdou moved to an apartment not far from the family home.....

......The family was originally from Lebanon, and Abdou is currently on a one-month trip there, according to The Daily News. She was due back sometime next week (and her absence might explain why police have not formally released the names of the Zawahri family members killed)......

WTF .... Why would the MSM call people who want to know more about the Bilderberg group "conspiracy theorists"??

Is seeking more knowledge and asking questions about anything that we admit we don't know much about, is that to be ridiculed as being  the thoughts of stupid "conspiracy theorists"?

Are people who want to know the names of the individuals who make up the Bilderberg Group and  how and what criteria they use for the decisions that are made at their meetings, which decisions  affect millions around the world, leave alone the disastrous effects of  grouping countries (the EU was the Bilderberg Group's  invention/idea, as recently disclosed) or the re-mapping of others... are those knowledge seekers to be labelled as "conspiracy theorists" by a profession that has no ethics to speak of?

What kind of decisions are made?  What kind of ideas are bounced around?  Why are CEOs, and ex-Ministers and  ex-Presidents of  several countries sitting in these meetings?  What are they discussing? Are we supposed to let powerful dignitaries from around the world make decisions on our behalf and suffer the consequences of those decisions?

Who elected these people to hold sway over all the peoples of the world and put their money and influence behind electing  puppet heads of  countless countries?

We can understand that Cabinet members of individual countries have discussions within the Cabinet which are not privy to the general public for security reasons.  However, why would we think it is okay to accept that same reasoning  when individuals from several countries get together to "bounce ideas at one another"  like the MSM wants us to believe?   What if those "ideas" are implemented and what if those "ideas" were not a natural fruition from our own country's collective Cabinet decision?

All countries are not one just as all people are not one.  Any group that wants to make that so are to be exposed  and every bit of transparency should be called for.  Bilderberg Group is at the top of the list that desires to bring about a one world govt.

I read somewhere that there was even a paper drawn up (don't know whether it was from a member of the Bilderberg Group or some other entity)  to make it possible for a delegate from the United Nations to act as interim "President" or "Prime Minister" of any country that was considered to be "under threat of internal or external elements".   The implications of such a measure are severe and far reaching and if not for  truth seekers,  the one-world govt would have been a very near possibility in the not too distant  future.  Don't forget how the European Union selected their honcho without an election. These powerful individuals are where they are because they can make things happen, things which you and every gullible soul on earth might think are not doable.

The MSM and every "journalist" and "reporter" seem to be sinking further into the mire of their own making by belittling people who want transparency and truth, no matter what. Almost every news item about the recent 2013 meeting of the Bilderberg Group is laced with  the phrase "conspiracy theorists"  and that's because "Truth" is a word that the MSM has deleted from its vocabulary.  Anything that will mean they would have to do a bit of  research  or actually move their butts and go to the scene of the action, is taboo ... so they browse through news items from other "reporters" and "journalists" who in turn have browsed through yet other news items, probably from bloggers, which sector as we all know, is becoming more and more dependable.

I know I have ranted a lot .... but I just get so mad with the present day "journalists" and "reporters" and the shit they spin.  I will post the link to the document about the United Nations being designated as head of country(ries)  when I find it.  I know I read it a while ago, and it must be somewhere on the net.

From DailyMailUK:
... It means any Brit who sent an email, uploaded a photograph, shared a link or watched a video on one of the breached sites in the past three years, may have done so under the watchful eyes of government spies.
Indeed, it will also pile pressure on Prime Minister David Cameron to explain how much he knew about the intrusion as he prepares to attend the secretive Bilderberg conference today, a closed-door meeting that conspiracy theorists already believe is where leaders plot world domination..........

From TheTelegraphUK:
...Conspiracy theorists claim it is a shadow world government. Former leading members tell the Telegraph it was the most useful meeting they ever went to and it was crucial in forming the European Union. Today, the Bilderberg Group meets in Britain.....

From International Business Times:
....Conspiracy theorists will likely be buzzing this weekend as the Bilderberg Group holds its 61st annual meeting, beginning Friday, at Watford's Grove Hotel in the U.K. The secret club is among the most popular topics for conspiracy theorists, with many believing its annual meetings of powerful people shape, or even control, the world.....

Cartoons on the America of Orwell's "1984"

I know that what's happening with our world  is not a laughing matter...but I admire the creativity and talent of cartoonists and these are simply too good to be enjoyed on my own.

India's Hindu extremists prove they can be as violent as jihadis

Religion is the cause of all evil almost all of the time.

From FidesOrg:  (Google translation from Italian)
....Hindu extremists brutally attacked 20 Protestant pastors of the Baptist Church in the district of Mahehwaram Mandal, territory of Hyderabad, the state capital of Andhra Pradesh in south-central India. According to a note of tells Fides' "All India Christian Council", an ecumenical organization of Christian communities in India, June 4 last about 50 militants "Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh" (RSS, "Corps volunteers Hindu") discontinued a retreat of the group of Baptist Pastors, insulting, beating them with sticks and hurting. During the violence, activists accused the pastors of conduct "activities forced conversion." Pastors were conducted in the hospital and filed a complaint with the police. In the coming days the Christian communities of the territory wishing to organize a peaceful march to protest the violence.

"All violence must be condemned, but it must be said that incidents of this kind are not very frequent in Andhra Prdesh" says to Fides, p. Amal Yeruva, a Catholic priest of Hyderabad. "The Hindu extremist groups, in fact, are not very strong in Aadhra Pradesh as in other Indian states such as Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, partly because the political party that protects them, the BJP (Bharatiya Janta Party), it makes little later."

The priest told Fides: "It must be said that the Catholic Church, a community of more ancient tradition, has no problem in carrying out pastoral activities, as sometimes happens, however, for the communities of Protestant Christian derivation. For our part, the dialogue with the community and with the Hindu leader is broad and fertile, and continues at all levels. The Catholic Church is highly respected in the state. "

It is also evident from the way in the diocese of Hyderabad are moving forward "initiatives and programs for the Year of Faith: semiari, spiritual retreats and workshops for priests, religious and lay people who help the community to strengthen their faith and their witness. " According to a report sent to Fides by the "Global Council of Indian Christians" (GCIC) in 2012 were officially counted 135 attacks against Christians in India.....

Movie: Judgement Night

Emilio Estevez, Cuba Gooding and Jeremy Piven act in this 1993 action movie.

Barrie Police Services ... more secretive than the Bilderberg group

Criminals and culprits caught by the Barrie Police Services should remember to send them a Thank You card for keeping their identities under lock and key.

Your tax dollars go to the wages of the police personnel of the Barrie Police Services, but unfortunately, you are not considered to be of any significance to those within this particular department.  The Barrie Police Services  consider  the criminals and culprits to  have more rights to commit crimes in secret and privacy than you have to gain access to that information ...and don't you dare forget it.

I viewed about 20 of the news releases of  arrests made and not a single one has the name of  the person arrested.

Great going Barrie Police Services!  Are you working on behalf of the taxpayers or on behalf of those who cost the taxpayers even more?

Walkathon for cancer charity cancelled due to bomb threat

What are the chances that some rotten leftie made the bomb threat thinking this was a kind of pro-life rally  against baby killers?  Relay for Life is actually a walkathon for a cancer charity.  But then,  when have you known the Left to think beyond a second or two?

From HalifaxNewsNet:
Halifax Regional Police is currently investigating a bomb threat received from a payphone in Halifax this evening.

At 7:45 p.m. last night, a 9-1-1 dispatcher received a call from a male who made threats which alluded to the Boston Marathon bombings and indicating that something similar would happen in the area. It was determined the call originated from a payphone at the corner of Spring Garden Road and South Park Street.
A patrol officer was on scene within approximately two minutes and did not locate anyone near the payphone. A search of the surrounding area, including Public Gardens, Victoria Park and the Wanderers’ Grounds, failed to locate anything suspicious in nature.

Given that the only similar sporting event happening tonight is the Relay for Life at the Emera Oval at Halifax Common, officers attended the area and advised event organizers of the threat. As a result, event organizers made the decision to shut down the event. Officers remained on-scene as the event participants cleared the area and then searched for any suspicious packages. .....

Look folks ....our very own mini-Utopia in Canada.... the city of Montreal

No crime should mean no need for thousands of police in uniform, right?    So ... why does the city still have that great a number of  employees in the police force?   Montreal has become a  crime-free city, a modern day Utopia.

In the year 2010,  the Montreal Police Services reports 4 crimes in total;
In the year 2011,  they report 6 crimes altogether;
In the year 2012,  Utopia reports  20 crimes...how tiring for the uniforms last year must have been;
In the year 2013  Jan to date just 9 crimes.

Are the police departments in the Province of Quebec answerable to somebody or not?  Is that government bureaucracy ever going to insist that they update their online reporting and give proper news releases of each and every crime and each and every arrest?

The police in the Province of Quebec definitely consider themselves to be above and beyond the taxpayers' requests to report diligently on a day-to-day basis on the prevention of crime and dedication to keeping law and order.  Their disrespect and disregard for the general public is reflected in the reporting they feel fit to feed the public.

Shame !!!!

Is there a serial killer hunting gays in downtown Toronto?

I see a definite gay connection with all three missing men....and can't understand why the police can't  come out  and say so.  The location where the three disappeared .... Church Street and Wellesley ... is a well-known haunt for the gay community.  Even the tiniest pebble thrown there is likely to hit at least two of  the wanna-be-husbands seeking   husbands and wanna-be-wives seeking wives.
Yeah, yeah... I know ... I am disgustigly vile.  What else is new?

Pics of all three at link.  I suspect involvement of  murderous muslims going after these guys ... poor souls must be long dead by now.

......The Toronto Police Service  would like to make the public aware of a missing person investigation.
It is reported that:
− on September 16, 2010, Skandaraj “Skanda” Navaratnam, 40, was reported missing. He was last seen on September 6, 2010 in the Church Street/Wellesley Street East area, leaving a bar with an unknown man.....

.......− Abdulbasir "Basir" Faizi, 44, was reported missing on December 29, 2010 to the Peel
Regional Police Service
− subsequent investigation places the last known location of Abdulbasir Faizi in the Church
Street/Wellesley Street East area
− his motor vehicle was recovered on Moore Avenue......

........− on October 25, 2012, Majeed "Hamid" Kayhan, 58, was reported missing to the Toronto Police Service
− the man was reported missing by his son and had last been seen on October 14, 2012
− he was active in the community of Church Street/Wellesley Street East........

The comedy of the poverty-ridden putrid billionaire from stinkhole Saudi Arabia who's suing Forbes for letting the world know about his shamefully sad worth of just $20 billion and not a penny more

I  had written about this putridly arrogant  billionaire   when Forbes' journalist Kerry Dolan's article was first published in March (he's also suing Dolan).  His Royal Putridness  happens to be one of the  big bosses of FoxNews.  I wonder if Fox News staff  are made to bow to him as low as Obama did to the main honcho of  the stinkhole.

From YahooNews:
Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal has sued Forbes magazine for libel in a British court, alleging its valuation of his wealth at $20 billion was short of the mark by $9.6 billion, Britain's Guardian newspaper reported on Friday.

The prince, a grandson of Saudi Arabia's founder and nephew of King Abdullah, had attacked the U.S. magazine's ranking of world billionaires as flawed and biased against Middle Eastern businesses after he was ranked number 26 in this year's list......

.......The public spat attracted a lot of comment, but Forbes stuck by its estimate of Prince Alwaleed's wealth and published an in-depth article in its March 25 issue entitled "Prince Alwaleed and the curious case of Kingdom Holding stock".

The article gave details about how Forbes had arrived at the figure of $20 billion and criticized what it described as a lack of transparency by Kingdom Holding in detailing its assets.

The article also described Prince Alwaleed's marble-filled, 420-room Riyadh palace, his private Boeing 747 equipped with a throne, and his 120-acre resort on the edge of the Saudi capital with five homes, five artificial lakes and a mini-Grand Canyon.

The High Court official in London said the two journalists named in the defamation claim were Kerry Dolan, the author of the article, and Francine McKenna, who was credited with additional reporting....

Is this the work of yet another fucking convert to the cult of murder and mayhem?

More than possible.  Their loony bin imams have been telling the zombies to carry out individual attacks.
6 shot died in Santa Monica for no apparent reason.  Oh, BTW, it's supposed to be a gun-free zone.

More   here  and here  and here.

Turkey is no different from other Muslim nations in the persecution of Christians

Wanna know how Christians disappear from countries which were once theirs and how those remaining are then persecuted?

Only the willfully naive  suffer from an intense case of  extreme stupidity and false confidence  that something like what happened to the Christian countries of the Middle East and North Africa will not ever happen in Europe or in  North America or in Australia or in New Zealand.  What about Spain?  Remember what happened  there and what nearly happened to the entire Iberian peninsula?  Are people that ignorant of history and geography?

John L.Allen writing at NationalCatholicReporter:
.....In the early 20th century, the Anatolia region, traditionally one of the epicenters of Eastern Christianity, still had a Christian population of almost one and a half million. Today, there are just an estimated 150,000 Christians left in Turkey amid a population of 75 million that's 97 percent Muslim.

Those Christians live with the daily burden of de jure and de facto discrimination. Emblematic is the Halki Seminary, once a premier Orthodox center of learning, which has been closed by state edict for more than 40 years. In 2009, Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople told "60 Minutes" that Turkey's Christians are second-class citizens "crucified" by a state that wants to see them die out.....

....The extent to which an anti-Christian mentality grips Turkish society is evident from an EU-financed public opinion survey conducted in 2008. Among the findings:

One-third of Turkish Muslims would object to having a Christian as a neighbor.
More than half believe Christians should not be allowed to express their religious views in printed publication or in public meetings.
More than half are opposed to Christians serving in the army, security services, police force and political parties.
Just under half believe Christians should not be allowed to work in health services.

As John Eibner, CEO of Christian Solidary International, observed in 2011, "The road from such views to outright discrimination and a heightened threat of violence is very short indeed."

Turks with their eyes open know they have a problem. In December 2011, a journalist with the daily Zaman actually complained that "the Vatican is not doing anything" to ensure that the investigation of Padovese's death "is handled in a serious manner." Columnist Orhan Kemal Cengïz wrote that if the Vatican would apply greater pressure, it would "contribute to the well-being of all non-Muslims" and offer "a huge contribution to the promotion of human rights and freedom of religion in Turkey.".........

........Anti-Christian resentments can turn violent, as a tick-tock of recent atrocities illustrates.

In January 2006, a Protestant church leader named Kamil Kiroglu, a Muslim convert to Christianity, was beaten unconscious by five young men. Kiroglu reported that one of the attackers, wielding a knife, shouted, "Deny Jesus or I will kill you now." Another reportedly screamed, "We don't want Christians in this country." As the attackers departed, they left behind a 3-foot-long curved knife as a warning.

In February 2006, an Italian Catholic missionary named Fr. Andrea Santoro was gunned down by a 16-year-old Muslim in the small city of Trabzon. The assailant reportedly shouted "Allahu Akbar" as he fired. After his arrest, the young man told police he was angered by Danish cartoons insulting the prophet Muhammad.

Three other Catholic priests were attacked shortly afterward. Slovenian Fr. Martin Kmetec was threatened by nationalists in the city of Izmir while a mob chanted, "We will kill you all." A French priest named Fr. Pierre Brunissen was stabbed in Samsun while a French Capuchin named Fr. Hanri Leylek was beaten in Mersin

In January 2007, a prominent Turkish journalist of Armenian descent named Hrant Dink was assassinated in Istanbul. Dink, a prominent Protestant, was known as an advocate for human and minority rights.

In April 2007, three Protestant Christian missionaries, two Turks and one German, were tortured, stabbed and strangled to death in Malatya. Their five assassins all reportedly had links to nationalist groups.

In June 2010, Bishop Luigi Padovese, the longtime vicar for Anatolia and president of the country's Catholic bishops' conference, was killed by his driver and aide. Padovese received multiple stab wounds and was then beheaded.

As the saying goes, once may be an accident and twice could be coincidence, but three times (or more) is a conspiracy.

Every time one of these assaults occurs, Turkish authorities invoke what we might call the "Captain Renault defense" from the movie "Casablanca," professing themselves "shocked." They usually style it as a random act of madness rather than a symptom of a deep cancer...........

Do you ever wonder how Obama could con more than half of America to vote for him ?

Watch this and then wonder no more.

Austrian peacekeepers on the Golan Heights brought back home

BBC is reporting that because of  the dangerous situation there, not only Austria but Canada, Japan and Croatia have all withdrawn their  peacekeeping forces on the Golan Heights.   However, I couldn't find a single item about our withdrawal  if we ever had a force of Canadian peacekeepers on that border.  Guess all the Canadian "journalists" and "reporters" were kept too busy trying to find the non-existent Mayor Rob Ford crack cocaine video.  The only thing about Canadian peacekeepers withdrawal I was able to find was this and it's from way back in 2006, long before the Syrian civil war started.  Either BBC has done half-baked reporting as usual,   OR our Canadian MSM is fast asleep OR  we probably had a  couple of "observers" on the border who are now back home.  I hate it when we are told lies, half-truths or kept in the dark...intentionally or not.

The Syrian army has taken control of a UN-monitored crossing in the Golan Heights that had been overrun by rebel forces, Israeli military sources say.
Tanks and armoured vehicles were used in the fighting at Quneitra, near Israeli-held territory.
Austria has said it will withdraw its peacekeepers from the Golan Heights because of the fighting....
The involvement of Hezbollah and the upsurge of fighting near the ceasefire line with Israel in the Golan have both raised fears that the conflict could spread across Syria's borders.

Rebels seized the crossing near the town of Quneitra earlier on Thursday, with explosions and heavy shelling rocking the area.
But an Israeli military source said Syrian government forces retook the symbolically significant position hours later, and that it was now relatively quiet in the area..
Two UN peacekeepers were wounded as fighting raged around the crossing and Quneitra.
Austria said it would withdraw its soldiers because the threat had "reached an unacceptable level".
Austrian troops make up more than a third of the more than 900-strong UN force monitoring the demilitarised zone and Quneitra - the only open crossing between Syria and the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights.
Israel expressed regret at Austria's decision, and said it hoped it would not lead to "further escalation" in the region.
The UN said the withdrawal of Austrian troops would affect the mission's operational capacity and it would look for replacements.

Croatia, Canada and Japan had already withdrawn their contingents in the Golan because of the conflict in Syria.........

From TheGuardianUK:
Israel has reacted angrily to Austria's decision  to withdraw its peacekeeping forces from the Golan Heights, saying the move has undermined the authority of the United Nations as the Syrian civil war threatens to spill over the border into Israel.
Israeli officials say the withdrawal of Austrian troops from the peacekeeping force monitoring the demilitarised border area following the injury of a Filipino soldier during clashes on Thursday threatened the role of the UN Security Council in any future negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.
In a statement issued late on Thursday afternoon, Austria announced its decision to remove all 380 of its troops from the 1,000-strong force on the Israel-Syrian border due to the "continuing deterioration of the situation in the area"...........

Muslim Brotherhood funding their brother headchoppers in Syria ....

and as we speak they are at full speed ahead to add another notch in their belt on behalf of the coming Caliphate.  Never forget that Al Qaeda is the MB's army.

Reading through a lot of news on Syria this morning.  Will post as I go through the most relevant stuff. The following link to the paper written by Raphaël Lefèvre at CarnegieEndowmentOrg is very comprehensive..it's long and I haven't read more than a few pages of it.

The Muslim Brotherhood is the most powerful group  in Syria’s exiled political opposition network. It is also emerging as a significant presence in rebel-held territory in northern Syria, where it is rebuilding its grassroots movement after thirty years in exile. But the Brotherhood’s success in the next stage of the Syrian revolution depends on its ability to address several significant challenges.....

.....Active in rebel-held territory in northern Syria ever since the Syrian uprisings started in March 2011, the Muslim Brotherhood is about to rebuild its base in Syria after thirty years of absence. The Islamist organization was outlawed after waging a bitter military struggle against the Baath regime of then Syrian president Hafez al-Assad from 1976 to 1982, but the head of the group recently declared that “the movement will go into action” across the country within months.

The Brotherhood began publishing a newspaper in Syria mid-February. It will soon launch its own television channel broadcasting in the north of the country and open local offices in the liberated cities. And it plans to establish a political wing to compete in future elections and predicts that it could win as much as 25 percent of the vote.1 Even the current regime seems to believe that the only real alternative to its rule would be a Muslim Brotherhood takeover of Syria.

But, for all the Brotherhood’s history of opposition to the Baath Party, its prominent influence over the political opposition to Bashar al-Assad’s regime, and its optimistic electoral predictions, is the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood really ready to rule a post-Assad Syria? ..........

..........The Brotherhood has spent decades rebuilding networks inside Syria, and recent trends suggest that the organization is now ready to quickly expand. One group in particular is set to play a powerful role in the Syrian Brotherhood’s reconstruction: the Islamist youth. These self-described “sons and daughters of the Brothers” provide the Muslim Brotherhood with a golden opportunity to renew the pool of its membership, galvanize its troops, and refresh the image of the group......

........The Brotherhood’s primary concern is security, which helps explain its reluctance to expand too quickly. In the 1970s and 1980s, Syrian intelligence moles managed to penetrate the Islamist group and the regime successfully thwarted plans for coups d’état and mass defections of soldiers. This is certainly something the Muslim Brotherhood wishes to keep from happening again, and it helps explain why, until recently, applications for membership were restricted to the relatives of Islamist militants who already belong to the organization—and are therefore entirely trusted. ..........

Roula Khalaf and Abigail Fielding-Smith writing at FinancialTimes:
.....The Muslim Brotherhood is set to open offices inside Syria for the first time since the organisation was crushed there decades ago, in an apparent effort to capitalise on the increasingly Islamised rebellion.

Riad al-Shaqfa, the movement’s exiled leader, said in an interview with the Financial Times that a decision was recently taken to revive organisational structures inside Syria and followers have been asked to start opening party offices in rebel-held areas......

.....Mr Shaqfa said the Brotherhood has only 10 per cent of the seats on the Syrian National Council, which is now part of the Coalition, and had followed others, rather than led, in the election of Ghassan Hitto as interim prime minister. Though Mr Shaqfa is not opposed to expanding the Coalition, he said: “There is a group outside the coalition which wants to get in and so they say we control the coalition which isn’t true.”
The Brotherhood, however, is more organised than others, and it is also flexible in its positions, which creates suspicion over its motives. “If we haven’t pushed to form the Syrian National Council it would not have been formed, because there were no other parties. Others were not organised or strong,” said Mr Shaqfa.....

Wow!! John McCain and Al Qaeda's honcho Yusuf al-Qaradawi, want the exact same thing... Sunni Jihadis in Syria

Who knew that one day we would see both Al Qaeda and the USA on the same page and having the same foreign policy, eh?   It's like the person who drafted al-Qaradawi's stance on Syria is multi-tasking as communications guy for McCain as well.   And mind you, there are other honcho Republicans all raring and ready to fund and arm to the teeth, any and all jihadis making their way to Syria.  What a wonderful world !

From the BBC:
An influential cleric has called on Sunni Muslims from around the Middle East to go to Syria to join the battle against President Bashar al-Assad.

Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, an Egyptian Islamist based in Qatar, told a rally in Doha that every Sunni capable of fighting should support the rebels........

......Sheikh Qaradawi has about 60 million followers for his religious programme on al-Jazeera TV....

From YahooNews:
....Syrian rebels  battling the forces of President Bashar Assad must receive ammunition and heavy weapons to counter the regime's tanks and aircraft or it will be impossible for them to prevail, Sen. John McCain said days after he quietly slipped into Syria to meet with the opposition.
"They just can't fight tanks with AK-47s," McCain said Friday in a telephone interview.

The Republican lawmaker and 2008 presidential candidate made an unannounced visit to Syria on Monday, traveling across the border near Kilis, Turkey, and spending about two hours meeting with rebel leaders. McCain has been one of the most vocal lawmakers demanding aggressive U.S. military action in the 2-year-old Syrian civil war, calling for establishment of a no-fly zone and arming the rebels.

The Obama administration has been reluctant to provide weapons to the disparate opposition, fearing that they will fall into the wrong hands in a volatile region. McCain said he discussed what types of weapons the rebels need and whether they could ensure their control.

"I'm confident that they could get the weapons into the right hands and there's no doubt that they need some kind of capability to reverse the battlefield situation, which right now is in favor of Assad," McCain said.

McCain, a member of the Armed Services and Foreign Relations committees, was the first U.S. senator to travel to Syria since the civil war began more than two years ago. He said he worked with Deputy Secretary of State William Burns in arranging the trip.

McCain said he spoke with Secretary of State John Kerry "a couple of times. It wasn't that I was hiding it from him; it just didn't seem to come up. I thought Burns was the right guy to go through. They were very important in the trip. We couldn't have done it without their cooperation.".....

UGH! and double UGH!! Disney cordons off sections of Disneyland for a 3-day do for a Saudi shit

This is how the Saudis are buying up whatever the greedy Westerners  are  willing to sell to the highest bidder come what may.   So, what this boils down to is that  the owners of Disneyland Paris didn't give a damn about the thousands of other visitors who make this once in a lifetime trip for their kids, and perhaps come from all over the world paying 1000s of dollars in airfare alone.  Disneyland owners barred these visitors from the areas where the Saudi fuck and his group were partying for three whole days...it didn't matter to them that perhaps those visitors had come specifically to see one or more of the sections closed off to them as their money and their presence was not needed to make Disney's stock go to dizzying heights because  they pimp themselves to billionaire Saudis.  How disgusting !   The 15 Million Euros is dirty money and the integrity that Disneyland has lost with this move will never be regained.  It might have been the Disney franchise in France,  but this disgusting transaction has made the entire company stink to high heaven. I hope people who had plans to take their kids to these shitholes, will plan anew and take them to other places of fun.  There are several ... all one needs to do is look for them.

Henry Samuel writing at TheTelegraphUK:
Saudi Prince spends millions  on closing off part of Disneyland for private party
A Saudi prince splashed out 15 million euros on a private three-day extravaganza at Disneyland near Paris to celebrate his degree, the group that runs the theme park said.

Prince Fahd al-Saud booked entire areas of the park over May 22 to 24 for his 60-odd guests, who included friends, as well as diehard Disney fans and bloggers.
Special security was put in place for the prince, one of the park's top customers, it added.
The Paris event was the grand finale of a world tour entirely at the expense of the Saudi royal called Disney Dreamers Everywhere, which started in Hong Kong Disneyland and moved onto theme parks in Tokyo, California, Florida and then France.
The festivities were said to include tailor-made events involving "rare Disney characters."
According to regional newspaper Ouest France, the prince even had a hand in designing the costumes and the scenarios – all specially shipped in for the event, along with 80 dancers.........

What's happening on the Turkey front

Today is supposed to be the 9th day of the protests.  The protesters, at least to my eyes now, are  beginning to look more and more like the Occupy crowd we had here in the West a short while ago.  Aimless and just creating trouble for trouble's sake.  Revolution?  I don't think so. These are mostly well brought up Turkish youngsters and they don't have the murderous, rapist muslim genes of the Egyptians and of course they also don't have the support of the USA which the Egyptian rebels rampaging on behalf of the MB had enjoyed.   Will this bring down the islamist Erdogan?  All bets are off.  The polls show his popularity is intact and the economy is healthy and fine all over Turkey.

I am sure the islamist thugs in Turkey have done something to suppress tweets.  The first day or two, there was a heavy deluge of tweets with lots of info. Compared to that, what we see now on social media is just a tickle.  Goes to prove how Twitter, YouTube and other social media has been largely comprised and are willingly bending to dictatorial regimes.

From HurriyetDailyNews:
Compared to previous days, the ninth day of the Gezi Park protests saw more police violence in the center of Ankara on June 5, despite the government’s public declaration that the security forces had been instructed to exercise restraint.
Police again used tear gas and water cannon to quell protesters late afternoon in Kızılay Square, most of whom were members of unions who had called for a strike in solidarity with the Gezi Park demonstrations. After intervening and dispersing the majority of the crowd in Kızılay, the police made an announcement to the rest and called on them to disperse.
Both the rapid and sudden intervention and the announcement of the police were prompted by a claim that a group planned to put up tents in Güvenpark of Kızılay Square. Unlike Gezi, Güvenpark is venue to intense pedestrian flow and is surrounded by both public bus and dolmuÅŸ stops – a shared taxi that runs set routes within cities.

Description of the Bar Association are as follows:

Sarah Palin on two of Obama's women

Gov. Palin  is reminding Americans of  the extremely  low  calibre  of  the two women appointed by Obama, one to serve as US Ambassador to the UN and the other as National Security Adviser.

We're in for a helluva' ride, America. Obama just named Susan Rice as his National Security Adviser and nominated Samantha Power to replace Rice as our U.N. ambassador. Samantha Power is married to Cass Sunstein, the very, very strange Obama pick for an early "czar" position who wowed us with his numerous bizarre claims including the wacko belief that animals should have the right to sue in court, that hunting should be banned as genocide, and that pet ownership is akin to “slavery.” But Mrs. Cass Sunstein’s character judgment in choosing her life partner is the least of America's worries. Information about Obama's new picks will be revealed in coming days. Pay attention to who they are; what they stand for; and what their records, associations, and statements reveal about them and their intentions. Especially consider Obama's chosen ones as evidence of his skewed thinking as he "fundamentally transforms" our great nation.

Here's just a taste, as summarized by The Daily Caller:

"In 2002, President Barack Obama’s new nominee to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Power, proposed imposing a peace deal on Israelis and Palestinians militarily, even if such a policy alienated wealthy pro-Israel American Jews. 'I actually think in the Palestine-Israeli situation there is an abundance of information, and what we don’t need is some kind of early warning mechanism there,' Power said in an interview. 'What we need is a willingness to actually put something on the line in sort of helping the situation. And putting something on the line might mean alienating a domestic constituency of tremendous political and financial import,' she added laughing, clearly referring to American Jews and suggesting they were a great obstacle to moving toward peace between Israelis and Palestinians.”
"Isn't that lovely. Not only is she condescending toward American Jews, but her analysis also happens to be utterly wrong. The failure to achieve peace in the Middle East is not because wealthy American Jews have somehow manipulated America's leaders into thwarting peace, but rather because Palestinian leaders have consistently rejected generous Israeli peace offers for a state of their own. In fact, the wealthy American Jews that Power haughtily dismisses in the interview as obstacles to peace are very often staunch advocates of a two state solution. On another note, Power also once compared actions abroad to those of Nazi Germany. As the Washington Examiner's Philip Klein wryly noted on Twitter, 'Samantha Power is the UN Ambassador, who is supposed to represent US interests at the UN?'"

Daily Caller

And these articles by TheBlaze, Breitbart.com, and Townhall should help wake up Obama supporters who naively and blindly (despite failure after failure and scandal after scandal) continue to give him the benefit of the doubt:
The Blaze
Breitbart
Townhall

Nah, America... I shouldn't have prefaced this post with a warning to hang on because "we're in for a helluva' ride." Sorry. That was crass and inaccurate. I should have just said about Obama's judgment and unchecked power, "America, we are so screwed."
