Turkey's slide into civil war has begun
The question now should be: Will the EU still insist on keeping its head lodged firmly in the sand by inducting Turkey into the EU? Imagine what's going to happen when that happens.

The callousness and heartlessness of the western MSM in ignoring the ongoing genocide in Yemen ...
is beyond vomit-inducing. The genocide is being committed by the coalition of KSA and other Sunni govt governing states of Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Sudan and if rumors are to be believed, Pakistan is also involved. This coalition is operating under the good graces of the American war machine - make no mistake about that. The silence of the North American media as well as the largely silent European media should be enough to tell you that the US influence on the media is dark and dangerous and does not bode well for the ordinary mortals of this world of ours.
Latest news (see vid at bottom) seem to indicate that the Houthis have started targeting areas deep into Saudi Arabia. I take that as a good sign.
Samuel Oakford writing at ViceNews:
'All We Could Find Were Body Parts': America's Role in Yemen's Civilian Carnage
On the morning of September 28, two families gathered in the southwestern Yemeni village of Wahija for the wedding of a young couple.
Dozens of women were inside a large wooden structure owned by the family of the groom, Merssal Mosaibas, helping to prepare for the festivities. A few male relatives and guests, both men and boys, were outside.
At about 9:30am, the familiar roar of Saudi-led coalition jets was heard overhead. Some people fled as the planes approached, fearing an attack, but many women and children remained inside. Bombs started falling shortly after 10am, the first striking near where the men had gathered. The structure, held up by tree branches and covered with a tarp, was obliterated minutes later. Mosaibas was nearby, but survived the attack; his bride, Hanen Makhrama, had not arrived yet from her nearby village.
The women and children inside the structure, however, were killed.
Wedding guest Shadi Taha told VICE News over the phone that the attack turned what had been a scene of joy and celebration into one of horror. Body parts were scattered all over, tree branches flecked with pieces of skin.
"There were only small, small pieces," he recalled. "People were small, small pieces of meat.".........................

Wonder of Wonders ... New York Times reports on ongoing genocide in Yemen which is supported by USA
Good to see New York Times doing some factual reporting on the ongoing war in Yemen which has also seen an exodus of Yeminis from affected areas becoming refugees in Somalia and Sudan ... for now. Couldn't help wondering which route would be ideal for Yeminis escaping USA-made weapons used by KSA, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and other cavemen, would be the best and fastest to reach Europe and then get themselves allocated to USA, Canada and Australia.
The first two vids are from 3-5 months ago. You can well imagine how many more might have and will continue to get out of Yemen as the missiles keep raining down on civilian areas and the genocide continues as fast as the USA, UK and others can replenish the cavemen' artillery.
Wars ... aren't they wonderful!!
Arab Coalition Bombs Yemen’s Capital, Killing Dozens
A Saudi-led military coalition bombarded government buildings and residential neighborhoods in Sana, the Yemeni capital, overnight on Saturday, killing more than two dozen people, officials and witnesses said, and destroying homes in Sana’s Old City, a Unesco World Heritage site.
The Saudi coalition, which includes nine other Arab nations and is supported by the United States, began fighting Yemen’s Houthi rebels in March, two months after the Houthis drove the government from power and took control of Sana. Coalition warplanes have sharply intensified their bombing of Sana in recent weeks, leading analysts to speculate that the airstrikes are intended to ease the way for a coalition ground incursion of the capital.
The airstrikes hit the headquarters of the Interior Ministry and a military honor guard, killing at least 17 security and military personnel, according to government officials and witnesses. But several of the targets appeared to have no military value, witnesses said.
One set of airstrikes crushed a group of houses, killing at least 10 members of one family and destroying at least two other houses, all in the Old City, which has been inhabited for more than 2,500 years.
Other bombs struck an underpass, damaging a passing truck, as well as a four-story residential building.
The aerial campaign has helped coalition forces advance in parts of Yemen, but has been marked by a persistent imprecision that has led to the deaths of more than a thousand civilians, according to human rights groups. The warplanes have bombed homes, markets, refugee camps and hospitals, but the coalition has consistently refused to acknowledge any culpability for the deaths.
Errant airstrikes have become so frequent that critics of the coalition say they are part of a deliberate policy intended to terrorize the population and turn public opinion against the Houthis.
On Friday, Unicef said that an airstrike in Dhamar, south of the capital, had destroyed a warehouse the agency used for water supplies, imperiling more than 11,000 people. Last week, the United Nations human rights chief called for an independent inquiry into violations by the coalition, as well as by the Houthi rebels.........
Airstrikes Take Toll on Civilians in Yemen War
The airstrike slammed into Al-Sham water-bottling plant at the end of the night shift, killing 13 workers who were minutes away from heading home.
Standing among the strewn bottles, smoldering boxes and pulverized machines a few days after the airstrike here, the owner, Ibrahim al-Razoom, searched in vain for any possible reason that warplanes from a Saudi-led military coalition would have attacked the place.
Nothing in the ruins suggested the factory was used for making bombs, as a coalition spokesman had claimed. And it was far from any military facility that would explain the strike as a tragic mistake: For miles around, there was nothing but desert scrub.

Crystal clear evidence that Israel committed war crimes against Palestinians
One year ago when Israelis set forth on their almost yearly "mow the lawn" of Gaza, they did what they have been doing best with the blessing of Anglo nations, and of late the Sunni dictatorships.... killing Palestinians and destroying any and all infrastructure in Gaza. As I write this, I just saw tweets on Twitter about two Palestinian teenagers losing their lives in the last 24 hours at the hands of the IDF. War or no war, the Israeli killing machine never sleeps. The world stands idly by and looks on these atrocities, and shamefully the pro-Israel/anti-Muslim crowd cheers on these crimes against humanity without a qualm.
From AlJazeera:
'Strong evidence' of Israeli war crimes in Gaza
In a brutal assault in Rafah during 2014 Gaza war, Israeli forces purposely targeted scores of civilians, report finds.
The Israeli army indiscriminately and deliberately targeted civilians during a brutal 2014 assault known as "Black Friday", according to a new report on last summer's Gaza war.
The joint study by Amnesty International and Forensic Architecture, released on Wednesday, cites "strong evidence" of war crimes and possible crimes against humanity on August 1, 2014, as Israeli forces bombarded residential areas in Rafah in retaliation for the capture of one of its soldiers.
"There is overwhelming evidence that Israeli forces committed disproportionate, or otherwise indiscriminate, attacks which killed scores of civilians in their homes, on the streets and in vehicles and injured many more," notes the report.
"This includes repeatedly firing artillery and other imprecise explosive weapons in densely populated civilian areas… In some cases, there are indications that they directly fired at and killed civilians, including people fleeing.".........

Armenian Genocide: Pope Francis called it as he saw it based on evidence in Vatican vaults
When will Turkey make amends? When will the allies of Turkey speak on behalf of the Armenians and force Turkey to make amends? Not likely, right? Reason being that most of Turkey's allies are themselves killing human beings without mercy just like the Turks did to an entire population based on their religious beliefs.
Diane Montagna writing at Aleteia...April 15:
Secret Archives Show Vatican Tried to Stop Armenian Genocide
The evidence for Pope Francis' condemnation of Turkey's extermination of Christians
Why did Pope Francis’ controversial comments on Sunday about the “Armenian Genocide” cause such a furor in Turkey?
To help understand the true history behind the 1915-16 atrocity, Aleteia interviewed the German historian and author, Dr. Michael Hesemann, who was in Rome for Sunday’s Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica commemorating the 100th anniversary of the genocide, otherwise known as Metz Yeghern [the Great Evil].
The atrocity involved the Ottoman government’s systematic extermination of its minority Armenian subjects inside their historic homeland which lies within the territory constituting present-day Turkey. The total number of people killed in what is also known as the Armenian Holocaust is estimated at between 1 and 1.5 million.
In a new book entitled, The Armenian Genocide [Völkermord an den Armeniern], Hesemann reveals for the first time the content of never-before-published documents on “the greatest crime of World War I,” and how Pope Benedict XV and Vatican diplomacy tried to stop the deportations of the Armenians into the Syrian desert, save the victims and prevent the massacre of an entire people.
In this interview, Hesemann shares his findings, which include evidence of Masonic involvement, and expresses both his admiration for Pope Francis for drawing attention to the genocide of Christians and ethnic minorities, and his disappointment over the absence of the German Ambassador to the Holy See at Sunday’s commemorative Mass.
Dr. Hesemann, what led you to write a book on what documents contained in the Vatican Archives reveal about the Armenian Genocide?
Actually it was a kind of coincidence. I work as an historian for the “Pave the Way Foundation” in an intensive study of all the aspects of the life of Eugenio Pacelli, the man who eventually became Pope Pius XII.
From 1917-1925, Pacelli was Nuncio in Munich, so I went through the files of the Apostolic Nunciature in Munich, only to discover one folder with the title “Persecution of the Armenians”.
I opened it and found a letter of the Archbishop of Cologne, Cardinal von Hartmann, to the Chancellor of the Reich, Graf (Count) Härtling, in which he calls the persecution of the Armenians “not less brutal than the persecutions of the Christians in the first centuries of Christianity.” The Archbishop requested an urgent German intervention, unfortunately in vain.
In the same file I found a copy of a letter written by Pope Benedict XV to the Sultan, asking for mercy for the innocent Armenians. These documents both touched me and aroused my curiosity. I felt I had just touched the tip of an iceberg and was sure I would find more data, and indeed I did — some 2500 pages so far.
I soon realized that no historian had ever worked with most of these documents, and that all this information was obviously unknown even to the leading experts on the Armenocide.
Given the importance of their content, I decided to write a book, putting the documents in the context of what we already know about the events of 1915-18.
What was the most surprising and unexpected insight you discovered in the Vatican Archives about the Armenian genocide?
The most surprising insight was that the Armenian genocide was in fact just part of a bigger plan — the extermination of all non-muslim minorities in the Ottoman Empire.
The ruling “Young Turk” movement came in contact with European ideas of nationalism and the concept that only a homogenous state can be a strong state. That is why..........

Hon. Rob Nicholson, you are wrong. "Moral Clarity" would have been if you had raised your voice when a genocide was going on in Gaza courtesy your friends in Israel
We have no business interfering in Iraq or Syria. It is the USA's problem which the USA has brought about due to their Israel-lead foreign policies. Let Canada's bosom pals like Saudi Arabia, UAE and the rest of the Sunni nations along with Israel ... handle the situation there. Everybody and even their dead uncles know that Canada venturing into conflicts in the Middle East has nothing to do with "moral clarity" ... as if the governments of the West cry their eyes out for the unfortunate folks in those regions.
Nicholson lies about "moral clarity" when heart of hearts he knows just like everybody else, that going into the Middle East conflicts have nothing to do with morality concerns but everything to do with geopolitical changes and most of those reasons are to do with USA and Israel.
When politicians tell these bold-faced lies, their credibility and the credibility of their party, goes down several notches.
Kim Mackrael writing at Globe&Mail
Iraq mission a matter of ‘moral clarity’ for Canada, Foreign Affairs Minister says
Extending Canada’s military mission in Iraq is a matter of “moral clarity” that all political parties should support, Foreign Affairs Minister Rob Nicholson says. In a carefully crafted speech to foreign diplomats on Thursday, Mr. Nicholson set out the Conservative government’s case for boosting Canada’s role in the U.S.-led coalition. He argued that Islamic State extremists present a danger to the region and a direct threat to Canada and its allies that could grow quickly if it’s left unchecked.
Mr. Nicholson’s comments lay the groundwork for the government’s proposal to the House of Commons next week, when Prime Minister Stephen Harper will ask MPs to support a plan to expand and extend the current six-month mission. The pre-emptive speech, aimed at about 50 foreign diplomats and delivered before a group of journalists, sought to place pressure on federal opposition parties, who have questioned the scope of Canada’s involvement.
It was the latest salvo in an extended campaign that saw federal ministers hint repeatedly at plans to renew the military commitment. Mr. Harper said Wednesday that he would seek approval for the extension, a revelation that came in the middle of a break week on Parliament Hill, at a time when many MPs had returned to their ridings........

Israeli spies (just a few dozen of them) don't want to spy on Palestinians anymore
They sent a letter to warlord Netanyahu stating so. Israelis are beginning to feel (at least a few dozen of them) what it feels like to be despised and hated by the world at large for the mass atrocities they commit on Palestinians every 2-3 years, and make the world watch those atrocities and the murdering of children and their mothers while they and their supporters in the West parrot non-stop that what the world is seeing is only propaganda from the Palestinians and doctored photographs and videos.
Moreover, the Israeli supporters here in the West have the gall to raise the question of why should the world focus on Israel when Assad is doing the same thing in Syria. Geez! So by their own admittance of this comparison, Assad the hated dictator of Syria and Netanyahu the hated warlord of Israel are same, same. Now we know, don't we?
From BBC:
Israeli intelligence veterans refuse to spy on Palestinians
Dozens of veterans of an elite Israeli military signals intelligence unit have said they will no longer serve in operations against Palestinians.
Forty-three past and present reservists signed a letter about Unit 8200, which carries out electronic surveillance.
They said the intelligence it gathered - much of it concerning innocent people - was used to "deepen military rule" in the Occupied Territories.........
....Unit 8200 is the Israeli military's central intelligence gathering body and is often likened to the US National Security Agency (NSA).
The protest letter signed by the veterans of the unit was sent to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and armed forces chiefs.
The newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth quoted the letter as saying that unlike in other countries there was "no oversight on methods of intelligence or tracking, and the use of intelligence information against the Palestinians, regardless of whether they are connected to violence or not".
"We refuse to take part in actions against Palestinians and refuse to continue serving as a tool for deepening military rule in the Occupied Territories," the letter added.
"Intelligence allows ongoing control over millions of people, thorough and intrusive monitoring and invasion into most aspects of life. All of this does not allow for normal living, fuels more violence and puts off any end to the conflict."
The names of the signatories were not published, but they include officers, former instructors and senior NCOs..........

The even more intensified plight of Palestinians in Gaza after insane warlord Netanyahu's genocidal actions on helpless citizens and their infrastructure
Collective punishment that Israel metes out on the Gaza strip is one of the most shameful things that this our present world of today witnesses every few years. There can be no excuse for a nation whose military is, supposedly one of the most powerful in the world, to come down so hard on a small area holding 1.8 Million people, almost all of them helpless citizens and a large segment, children under 18 years old.
The doublespeak from the Israelis and the Israeli supporters here in the West, whether they are from the Jewish diaspora or the Christian segments, is so vomit-inducing, some of us have already become dehydrated with the constant involuntary spewing every time we hear their whines or read their drivel.
If one is a model citizen of the country one has adopted as one's own away from the "Jewish homeland" should one be so concerned about what's happening in that "homeland"? Moreover, it baffles me how these numbskulls don't realize that the Israeli massacres in Gaza, which result mostly in loss of innocent lives and just a sprinkling of the bad guys, goes on to create everlasting hatred within the hearts of the survivors and Muslims around the world, and that hatred extends from not only hating Jewish Israelis but all Jews everywhere. And, these same numbskulls cry "foul" at the Jew-hatred being seen lately in the EU and elsewhere. "Why" is a question they won't ask of themselves. The pointing of fingers is always at the Muslims, but never when looking at oneself in the mirror.
Shouldn't one be patriotic to only the Western country one is now a citizen of? I guess that is not possible for people of Jewish origin holding dual citizenship. That dual-citizenship thing should be abolished. It's the stuff of traitor-making. If I was the government, I would definitely not employ people of dual citizenship to any post within the government body. In Canada, we even have a leader of one of the three main political parties, the NDP, having his feet in two boats.... a Canadian dinghy and a French yacht. We are going the way of Britainistan within the next decade or so. Rules should be equal for each and every citizen. However, because the rules are lax for Jewish citizens, many of whom retain or obtain citizenship to Israel, there are citizens of other countries too who claim the same privilege. Yup ... we have "Canadians" wobbling and rocking away with their feet in two boats. Probably, millions of them. Pretty good for Canada's future, eh?
Below are just 8 things from thousands more, the Gazans are gong through.
Claire Manibog writing at UNICEF:
Children in Conflict
8 Things You Need to Know About Gaza
1. Aug. 24 was the first day of school, but most children can’t go back.
The fighting has damaged at least 244 schools. Of those, 25 have been completely destroyed or severely damaged and are now unusable. Other schools can't be used for teaching because they are being used as shelters. More than 280,000 people displaced by the conflict are taking shelter in school buildings.
2. Gaza has one of the highest literacy rates in the region.
The State of Palestine has a 95% adult literacy rate, well above the regional average of 77%. Education is highly valued by families in Gaza.
3. Homes in Gaza get electricity for as little as two hours a day.
Gaza's only power plant has been struck five times since July 8 and is now no longer operating.4. Gaza’s aquifer is 96% polluted by seawater.
....The recent conflict has damaged wells, pumping stations and sewage treatment plants. UNICEF's response includes installing 14 water access points and helping to repair damaged infrastructure.
5. More than 370,000 children have been directly affected by the conflict.
UNICEF estimates that more than 373,000 children have suffered an injury, the loss of a family member or the destruction of their homes. These children need immediate emotional and psychological support......
6. Gaza is full of unexploded ordnance.
7. UNICEF gets supplies into Gaza through a single crossing.
The Kerem Shalom crossing is the only commercial crossing into Gaza. UNICEF works with authorities on both sides to get lifesaving supplies such as vaccines, drugs for children and hygiene kits into Gaza in the most efficient ways possible, including buying locally.....
8. Youth unemployment is extremely high.

Even Cuba's Fidel Castro knows the meaning of "genocide" when he sees one being committed ....
but the leaders of North America and the puppets of the Israeli owned-USA around the world are blind to some of the worst crimes committed by Israel on the Palestinians.
Israel is so smart it had to drop bombs to mete out collective punishment on Gaza because the Hamas creatures were coming out of their caves and tunnels to fire ineffectual rockets that they manufacture themselves and then disappearing back into the holes. However, the smart Israelis couldn't follow the effective method that Egypt implemented ... that which successfully either blocked the tunnels or flooded them. Why Israel? Did you have too many missiles and bombs sent your way by Uncle Sam? Did you find the Gaza population was growing too quickly and had to be culled?
From IsraelNationalNews:
Fidel Castro Calls Israel 'Fascist' Over Gaza Operation Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro compared Israel's military operation in Gaza on Tuesday to a "disgusting form of fascism" that its ally, the United States, is unable to control.
"I think that a new and disgusting form of fascism is emerging with considerable force at this moment in human history," Castro wrote in a column in the newspaper Granma titled "Palestinian Holocaust in Gaza."
Castro's article appeared as a 72-hour truce took hold in the Gaza Strip, with Israel withdrawing troops after a month of fighting with Hamas and other Gazan terrorist groups.
"Why does the government of this country (Israel) think that the world will be impervious to this macabre genocide that is being committed today against the Palestinian people?" he asked.
"Maybe it hopes that the complicity of the North American (US) empire will be ignored in this shameless massacre?" the 87-year-old former president said.
"There are facts that reflect the near total inability of the United States to face the current world problems," said Castro, who handed over power to his brother Raul in 2006 for health reasons.
Communist Cuba broke diplomatic relations with Israel in 1973 after the Yom Kippur War.

US reporter gets beheaded by ISIS/ISIL/IS/xyz ... isn't that collateral damage just like the dead children in Gaza like some people have been telling us?
Aren't we supposed to take it in our stride?
Dead children in Gaza, dead children in Syria, dead Christians in Iraq, dead Christians in Syria, millions becoming beggars and refugees, women sold in slavery, women raped, tortured, murdered. So, what's with a journalist or two getting themselves beheaded eh? Why are the alphabet networks going wild and everybody howling away? I for one didn't hear howls of rage and disbelief when Israel, the alphabet networks' teddy bear, was bombing Gaza to kingdom come.
The hypocrisy and the doublespeak is so vomit-inducing, I have been keeping a bucket close by to catch my spew, especially after the Israeli so very obvious war crimes and the world's silence on the genocide.
From NBC:
The Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) claims to have beheaded an American photojournalist and has threatened the life of another American journalist if President Obama doesn't stop airstrikes in Iraq.
A graphic video obtained by NBC News purportedly shows James Wright Foley, a freelance reporter for the U.S.-based news service GlobalPost who was kidnapped while reporting from Syria two years ago, reciting threats against America before he is executed by an ISIS militant. The militant heard in the video speaks in English.
The terrorist video shows footage of Obama speaking from the White House on the day he told Americans he had authorized airstrikes in Iraq...........

Terrible catastrophe is being visited on the ethnic tribes of Iraq and Kurdistan regions ....
by the ISIS/ISIL/IS/xyz army which is made up largely of groups which have been trained, armed and funded by the USA and her allies in the Middle East and around the world. Our entire world has become one big giant Babylon and it's because we the people have voted satan's minions to seats of power.
See the pic below .... all those children died of starvation and thirst. According to one reporter, the mountain range where the women and kids were hiding to get away from the monstrous wahhibi jihadis, is now littered with corpses of kids and the elderly.
From RUDAW:
Rudaw Reporter: Death Toll on Shingal Mountain Rising by the Minute
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region—The death toll among thousands of Yezidi civilians on Shingal mountain is rising every minute, says Rudaw reporter, with dead bodies lying everywhere among the rocks.
“The children and elderly who have died are so many that they cannot be counted,” said Barakat Issa, Rudaw reporter. “In the past four days I have witnessed the death of many.”
Since Saturday thousands of Yezidi Kurds from Shingal and surrounding villages have taken shelter on a mountain, fleeing the capture of their town by militants of the Islamic State (IS).
“Because people’s cell phones are out of battery, the news of the deaths is delivered by runners,” said Isa. “When we see someone running we know they are either fleeing or carrying the news of someone’s death.”
Our reporter described the situation on Shingal mountain as the “Holocaust and Anfal”.
The civilians are cut off from the Kurdistan Region and Kurdish Peshmerga forces who are trying to recapture the town from the IS militants.........

Death of a religion: Isis and the Yazidi
They are scared of lettuce. They abhor pumpkins. They practise maybe the oldest religion in the world. And now, after at least 6,000 years, they are finally being exterminated, even as I write this.
If you haven’t noticed this epochal crime – the raping and the slaughter – you’re not alone. Of late, the world has focused on the horrors of Gaza. When we’ve had time to acknowledge the Satanic cruelties of Isis, in Iraq, we’ve looked to the barbaric treatment of women, and Christians. Yet the genocide of the Yazidi, by Isis, is as evil as anything going on right now in the Middle East; it is also uniquely destructive of a remarkable cultural survival.
So who are the Yazidi? Some years ago I studied them when researching a thriller. I also traveled to meet their small diaspora community, in Celle, north Germany. And what .....

Warsaw Ghetto of the WW2 era and the Gaza of today ... so many similarities, it's uncanny ....
but we have lost our souls to evil and can't see them.
The thing to ponder on, dear people, is the fact that the Germans didn't think they were doing anything wrong just like the Israeli Jews of today and the Western powers of today are smug in their belief that they are doing no wrong.... the Israeli Jews are doing to the Palestinians exactly what was done by the Nazis to them ... and the Western powers, by giving their carte blanche to the Israelis to carry on the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, are doing exactly what the German allies had done during the holocaust. The day of reckoning will come ... it has to, just like it did for Germans and her allies. Jews were treated like dirt by the Germans and their allies .... just like how the Palestinians are treated like dirt by Israel and her allies. How we forget history, don't we?

20 years after the Rwandan genocide
The vid of the movie Hotel Rwanda that's posted below is very, very hard to watch. Be warned... some of the scenes are simply terrible.
Sonali Kolhatkar writing at TruthDig:
.....20 Years After the Start of the Rwandan Genocide, ‘Hotel Rwanda’ Hero Points to the Power of Words.
“You will find nobody living in Rwanda today who does not remember what they were doing in the early evening hours of April 6, 1994, when the private jet of President Juvenal Habyarimana was shot down with a portable missile as it approached for landing at Kigali Airport.”The 1994 Rwandan genocide was stunning for its ferocity and speed. Eight hundred thousand people were killed in the span of just 100 days. The slayings were organized and relentless. Racial distinctions that were barely tangible suddenly divided neighbors and even family members from one another, with government-backed paramilitary killers egged on by political and media elites to orchestrate large-scale slaughter.
—Paul Rusesabagina, “An Ordinary Man”
Many Rwandans are of mixed heritage but traditionally have taken on their fathers’ identities. Those with Tutsi fathers, resented for their over-representation in colonial-era power structures, were massacred alongside moderate Hutus who dared to not join the carnage. One man named Paul Rusesabagina, a hotel manager born to a Hutu father and Tutsi mother, survived and helped keep more than 1,200 others alive in a miraculous effort that turned his hotel into a refuge. That story inspired the 2004 film “Hotel Rwanda,” starring Don Cheadle in an Oscar-nominated performance. Had his parents’ lineage been reversed, Rusesabagina would almost certainly have been killed.
But even as a Hutu he faced many instances during the genocide when he thought he was breathing his last breaths, as he recounted in his 2007 book, “An Ordinary Man.” In a tale that is equal parts horrifying and inspiring, Rusesabagina wove a story of extraordinary courage and resilience, maintaining humbly, “I am not a politician or a poet ... I am nothing more or less than a hotel manager, trained to negotiate contracts and charged to give shelter to those who need it.”
Rusesabagina’s story is intensely gripping. I could not put the book down even though I desperately wanted to stop imagining women, children and men being hacked from limb to limb by machetes, and bodies piled up on street curbs. The book filled me with a combination of rage and grief and every other page provoked tears. But it also illustrated the incredible power wielded by a simple refusal to go along with the mob. Rusesabagina wrote, “[T]he only thing that saved those 1,268 people in my hotel was words. Not the liquor [which I used to ply officials], not money, not the UN. Just ordinary words directed against the darkness.”
In an interview with me on Uprising, Rusesabagina used his words eloquently to help make sense of the genocide. He told me, counter to the reductive explanation of ancient ethnic hatred fueling the killings, “Hutus and Tutsis do not hate each other as many people claim.”
He shared several reasons for why the genocide occurred. First, Rwandan politicians “used ethnicity in order to divide and rule.” Second, a sense of impunity spurred the killings because “people were not punished.” Third, “Rwanda has a problem of land. It is one of the most overpopulated countries in the world. Young people having no land, nothing to do, who are also hungry, is a problem.”
With conditions ripe for a conflict, all that remained was a media entity to goad the killers and a crisis to rally around. In the months and weeks before the genocide began, a private radio station called RTLM began relentlessly influencing national discourse on Hutu-Tutsi relations by dehumanizing Tutsis through constant references to them as “cockroaches” and warnings of an internal menace in the country. On April 6, 1994, the downing of Habyarimana’s plane provided the spark and RTLM fanned the flames to provoke a killing spree that lasted 100 days.
As is a constant theme in Rusesabagina’s book, words were of paramount importance in provoking the killings. He told me, “The media were urging people..........

France furious with Rwandan prez Paul Kagame for accusing it of complicity in genocide
Wonder is there is some truth in the accusations levelled at France and Belgium.
Anne Penketh writing at TheGuardian:
Rwandan president accuses France of direct role in 1994 genocide.
French justice minister will not attend commemorations marking 20th anniversary of genocide, after Paul Kagame's comments/
France has reacted with fury after the Rwandan president, Paul Kagame, renewed accusations of direct French involvement in the 1994 genocide, on the eve of ceremonies marking the 20th anniversary.
The French government announced that the justice minister, Christiane Taubira, would not attend the commemorations in Kigali after Kagame, in an interview with the weekly magazine Jeune Afrique, accused both France and Belgium of having a "direct role" in the genocide.
A total 800,000 minority Tutsis and moderate Hutus were killed in the four-month killing spree triggered by the assassination of Rwanda's Hutu president Juvénal Habyarimana.
The spirited French reaction highlights France's tormented relations with Rwanda since Kagame, the former leader of the Tutsi rebels who swept to power after the genocide, became president.
Didier Reynders, the foreign minister of Belgium, the former colonial power in Rwanda, said he still intended to travel to Kigali to pay homage to the victims and their families. "We are not going to pay homage to the current Rwandan government," Reynders said on Sunday.......

Worldwide genocide of Christians continue while our overlords cry over Muslims killing Muslims but not over Muslims killing Christians
A world gone mad.
Canada floods Nigeria with taxpayers' money as you can see from the Blazing Cat Fur's document below. Look at all the money going to countries that are busy killing Christians and other minorities. We, the stupid voters, have given these bastards in our government the power to send our money to these countries while in our own country we have millions of Canadians living below the poverty level.

.....Gunmen kill at least 62 in Nigeria, including in church. Suspected insurgents armed with guns and explosives killed at least 62 people in northeast Nigeria, including at a church service, in a region where Islamist sect Boko Haram is resisting a military crackdown, witnesses said on Monday.
They killed 22 people by setting off bombs and firing into the congregation in the Catholic church in Waga Chakawa village in Adamawa state on Sunday, before burning houses and taking residents hostage during a four-hour siege, witnesses said.
On Monday, a separate assault by suspected members of the shady sect killed at least 40 people in Kawuri village, in remote northeastern Borno state, security officials said. No one immediately claimed responsibility for either attack.
President Goodluck Jonathan is struggling to contain Boko Haram in remote rural regions in the country's northeast corner, where the sect launched an uprising in 2009.
Boko Haram, which wants to impose sharia law on a country split roughly equally between Christians and Muslims, has killed thousands over the past four and a half years and is considered the biggest security risk in Africa's top oil exporter and second largest economy after South Africa.........

Genocide of Syrian-Christians in full swing with help from the Canadian and American governments
Canada's "Conservatives in name only" CINOs not only gave financial aid to the "rebels" killing Christians, the fucking Canadian CINOs have given 1 Billion+ of taxpayers' money to countries that are busy annihilating Christians as Blazing Cat Fur blog shows in tweet below. Note that that money was given in just one year.

Andrew Doran writing at NationalReview:
...Fathallah Kabud climbed behind the wheel of the car, keenly aware of the danger that lay ahead. Perhaps he thought only of the task immediately before him, the drive through the checkpoints of war-ravaged Aleppo, which might distract him from contemplating the stark reality that he and his passengers were going, unarmed, to negotiate with ruthless murderers. Or perhaps he thought of his family. Or perhaps Fathallah, a devout Christian and deacon, simply prayed. One can only speculate as to his thoughts, for these were his last moments on earth.
In the car with Fathallah were Bishop John Ibrahim and Bishop Boulos Yazigi. Bishop Yazigi, brother of the Greek Orthodox patriarch of Antioch, had decided only hours before to join Bishop Ibrahim on this trip, an attempt to secure the release of two priests who had been kidnapped. Over the previous year, Bishop Ibrahim had negotiated the release of nearly two dozen hostages. Clergy had frequently been successful in Syria (as elsewhere in the Middle East) in negotiating the release of kidnapping victims — not only Christians but also Muslims, who often have as much to fear from the Islamist militants as do Christians.
The year before this fateful car ride, in the summer of 2012, the battle of Aleppo began. Foreign jihadists were already flocking to Syria, many of them war-hardened men from Central Asia and the Caucasus — among them Chechens who found in Syria a familiar maelstrom of blood and chaos in which they could thrive. The predominantly Islamist rebel factions are affiliated, ideologically if not organizationally, with al-Qaeda. These fighters are supported by the Sunni Gulf Arab states, which are eager to overthrow the Alawi regime of Syrian president Bashar Assad, an ally of Iran. They bring with them a new breed of barbarism..............

The massacre of Alawites
The accounts below are from earlier this year. If the people recounting the stories of these most horrorfic atrocities are telling the truth and nothing but the truth, it's proof that the Western leaders have fallen into the deepest gutters of the utmost evil.
Jonathan Steele writing at the GuardianUK:
Syria: massacre reports emerge from Assad's Alawite heartland Alawites are fleeing their homes, recounting gruesome tales of executions and other atrocities
At dawn on 4 August their peace was shattered. Armed rebels, led by local jihadis as well as members of Jabhat al-Nusra and the al-Qaida linked group, Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, left their headquarters in the largely Sunni town of Salma. They sneaked into the al-Akrad mountains, taking control of five Alawite villages. The rebels called it Operation Liberation of the Coast and the aim was to send the government a message that even the Alawite heartland was no longer safe.
Rumours of massacres spread as some 25,000 Alawite villagers fled to Latakia. The next day the rebels captured more Alawite villages and reached Aramo, about 12 miles north of Qardaha, the Assads' home town where Hafez al-Assad, the former president, is buried in a mausoleum. Over the next few days government forces regrouped and gradually recovered the lost ground with help from air strikes as well as local paramilitaries.........
.....The Syrian army has not allowed foreign reporters into the Alawite villages to check the massacre reports, but in Latakia city the Guardian spoke to three officers who took part in recapturing the villages. Each was interviewed in separate locations. Two were relaxing off-duty in beach-front hotels and villas. They spoke of executions and other atrocities.
"The attacks started with treachery," said Hassan, an officer in Syria's special forces. "There was a unit of 40 troops. A Sunni defected from it and took 30 other Sunnis with him. A few days later they were part of the attack that started with the village of Hambushiya. The 10 Alawite troops left behind in the area were killed." Hassan said he could listen to the rebel's radio communications. "I heard a rebel telling another rebel: 'Kill this one, but not that one' . One rebel asked: 'What do I do about the girls?' The answer came: 'I'm sending a truck to pick them up'. Several were taken and raped, and have not been seen again," he said.
"They kidnapped Sheikh Badr Ghazal and stripped girls and the sheikh to humiliate him. The sheikh was then killed. Rebels videoed the events and we found the pictures on the mobiles of dead rebels when we retook the villages. They have not been shown on Syrian TV or media because they are too distressing."
Shadi, a 32-year-old officer in a local defence unit that is separate from the Syrian army, was lightly wounded during the government's counter-attack. "When we got into the village of Balouta I saw a baby's head hanging from a tree. There was a woman's body which had been sliced in half from head to toe and each half was hanging from separate apple trees. It made me feel I wanted to do something wild," he recalled.
Ali, a member of the regular army, said he also saw the baby's head. "We found two mass graves with 140 bodies. They were not shot. They had their throats slit. About 105 people of different ages were kidnapped," he said. "It's really scary what happened. Nobody has gone home to the villages because so much has been destroyed and many houses have been burnt. The whole area is unusable. Salafists from abroad were behind the attack."
The officers' accounts cannot be independently verified but the Guardian has obtained lists, compiled by local activists, with the names of victims from Hambushiya, Balouta, and five other villages. They include 62 people listed as killed, 60 kidnapped and 139 people who are missing. The dead range in age from a toddler of two to a man of 90. The vast majority are women, children and the elderly since most men in the villages were away on duty as part of the volunteer defence forces elsewhere in the region. They did not expect their own villages to come under attack.

Why would an Armenian woman hide her roots and pass off as a Turk?
Her survival and the survival of her children depended on her deception. When Muslims take over, the only way to survive their brutality is to either convert to their cult or pretend you are one of them. Even today, mass graves from the genocide of Armenians are discovered all over Turkey. Oft times skulls and human bones are found at construction sites and yet the govt. of Turkey remains adamant that no genocide was committed.
This story makes me wonder how many more Turks are really Christians but don't know it because their grandparents opted to live as Muslims to escape the blood-thirsty murderers. Will those living tell the truth and have the dead taken their secret to their graves? The calamities the Muslims have rained down on Christians are vastly terrible and encompasses so many corners of the world.
From ArmenianWeekly:
Woman in Turkey Reveals Armenian Identity after 82 Years. Just one day before she passed away, a woman in Turkey who had hidden her Armenian identity for 82 years revealed the secret to her youngest son. HoĹźana, who was brought up as an Alevi in a Kurdish village, told the secret to her youngest son, journalist Ahmet Abakay.
Abakay is the president of a journalists’ association, and has now published a book titled HoĹźana’nın Son SözĂĽ (HoĹźana’s Last Word), which details his mother’s story.
“How can a person hide her Armenian roots for 82 years from her family, children, grandchildren, and her environment?” asks Abakay, according to an article on the Turkish website T24.com.tr.
In recent years, countless stories of Turkish and Kurdish persons revealing their Armenian identity have appeared in the media.
