NATO foreign ministers got their rocks off  and sang karaoke at the end of a meeting in Antalya, Turkey. Perhaps the song choice - “We Are The World” – was poor though. They got roasted on social media for their perceived peace-promoting hypocrisy.

Since the millennium, the military alliance’s troops have been involved in wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya, which has seen many thousands die in the conflicts. NATO has also used drone campaigns and bombing raids in its war on terror.

Those taking to social media certainly made their feelings known about NATO’s performance, with the words “warmongers” and “killers” used regularly................

A Calgary Muslim leader says a photograph showing MP Rob Anders and federal candidate Melissa Mathieson at a firing range in front of a target depicting a lifelike image of a terrorist promotes hatred.

But not everyone says the photo, which has been circulating on social media, poses a real problem.

The image has sparked debate about what lifelike figures are appropriate targets for firing ranges and whether there is a line, however narrow, that should not be crossed.
The photo shows Anders, the MP for Calgary West, and Mathieson, who is vying for the federal Conservative nomination in the upcoming Macleod byelection, standing back-to-back with guns in their hands at a Calgary shooting range last weekend.

Behind them is a target depicting a caricature of a bearded Muslim man wearing a turban and torn clothes, with an assault rifle in his hands. A website that sells the same target, ZombieTargets.net, identifies the character as a zombie Osama bin Laden.......

Toronto Police seeking two scumbags

Bear in mind that the two men shown in the vid below might be "lesser" and not "major" scumbags.  They could have been "johns"  and the "victim" could have been a prostitute or a homeless woman offering sex for money.  Only a thorough investigation  by the Toronto Police dept. will shed light on this, but it's known to all that when it comes to "street people" their attention wavers .... a lot.

Police have released security camera footage of two men who are wanted in an ongoing sexual assault investigation.
On Sept. 22, 2013 a woman had been on the steps of the agency Street Health in the Dundas St. E. and Sherbourne St. area. According to a previous police news release, she was sexually assaulted by two young men, at separate times, between 4 and 5 a.m.
The video, which was made available to the public Thursday morning, has been edited to protect the identity of the victim. It shows two men — one in a black hoodie and one in a grey hoodie — walking past a camera on separate occasions. Both men appear to be adjusting their pants as they walk toward the camera.
In November, activists rallied near the scene and criticized both police and the media for not having done enough to investigate and publicize that assault and others that “involve street women.”......

Theories abound as to why women go into menopause, but the latest hypothesis being put forward suggests it may be men — or specifically their preference for younger mates —that has led to women’s loss of fertility at a certain age.

Researchers at McMaster University believe that over tens of thousands of years, a lack of reproduction among older women has given rise to menopause as an unintended result of evolutionary natural selection.

Using computer modelling, the researchers found that over time, competition among men of all ages for younger mates left older females with much less chance of reproducing.

“We are saying somewhere along the line, men began to change their preference in mating,” said evolutionary biologist Rama Singh, co-author of the study published in this week’s issue of the journal PLOS Computational Biology.

“What we’re saying is that menopause will occur if there is a preferential mating with younger women and older women are not reproducing,” he said Thursday from Hamilton, Ont..........

Why is the prosecutor asking for just a 12-yr prison term?  I don't understand the madness going on in our courts.

Actions speak louder than an 11th-hour apology, a prosecutor argued Tuesday as she sought 12 years for the "brutal, senseless and completely unprovoked" attack that left 51-year-old Sean Murphy dead.

Mohamed Jama Yusuf, 23, pleaded guilty to manslaughter, admitting he punched Murphy, a complete stranger, as he rode his bike towards Yusuf outside a Mac's Milk store just after midnight on Aug. 26, 2008.

He then stomped and kicked the older, slighter man on the ground.

"Mr. Murphy was minding his own business and had no inkling his life was about to be snuffed out by a perfect stranger for no reason," prosecutor Lisa Miles said.

Yusuf then coolly returned with his friends to the Raven's Nest bar — where both men had been drinking — leaving Murphy convulsing from critical head injuries, Miles said.

"He did not lift one finger to help the victim," she said. "He did not demonstrate one iota of remorse."

While Murphy's family sat at his bedside until he died 21 days later without waking up, Yusuf returned to Edmonton where he bragged about stomping an old man in Ottawa, Miles said.................
