PM Stephen Harper's visit with NY mayor

The state of New York is the biggest importer of Canadian natural gas and electricity, spending US $6.8 billion and US $823 million, respectively, on these commodities in 2007.

Mayor Bloomberg's credentials in economics were put to the test. "We had a good discussion on the necessity of resisting protectionism, for example. It remains a top priority for the government of Canada," Harper said as he left the meeting. ......
