Authorities say Islamist militants killed and decapitated merchant as part of backlash against anti-Morsi activism.

EL-ARISH, Egypt (AP) — Security officials say suspected militants have killed a Christian merchant in the northern Sinai Peninsula.

They said 60-year-old Magdy Habashi was abducted last Saturday from the town of Sheikh Zweid. His decapitated body was found early Thursday in a cemetery, said the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.

Habashi is the second Christian to be killed in northern Sinai in less than a week. Coptic Christian priest Mina Abboud Sharobeen was gunned down by suspected militants last Saturday as he walked in an outdoor market.

There has been a backlash against Christians by Islamist militants for their activism against former President Mohammed Morsi, ousted by the military on July 3 after a wave of massive protests against his rule.

... In a video released  on the internet Islamist fighters, who have been holding Nubbul and al-Zahra under a strict siege for nearly a year now, threatened to carry out “a massive military invasion” on the towns if their demands are not met.

The Syrian army, with support of civilian volunteers, started a major operation in Aleppo, dubbed as “North Storm”, to free the province which has been scene of brutal crimes committed by thousands of Takfiri and extremist militants.

Due to its closeness to the Turkey borders, Aleppo has been a major bastion for militants. Moreover, after the army freed the strategic town of al-Qusseir, many of insurgents have set camps in Aleppo, especially in Northern areas.

Residents of Nubbul and al-Zahra have suffered a long blockade of all kinds of humanitarian supplies since July 2012 when terrorists completely closed the area and killed anyone who tried to exit.......

....In May, a group of a thousand people tried to break the siege, but they were faced with terrorists who attacked the group brutally and killed or arrested many of them. Islamist terrorists surrounding the town beheaded 10 of the men and hung their heads at the entrance of the area so that no one else would run.

More than 50 thousand people live in these two towns while after the crisis broke out some 15000 people also migrated and set camp in there. There are daily reports of abduction and killing of citizens in the area by rebel groups who often film their crimes and post them on the internet.

It is estimated that at least 10 thousand terrorist are currently operating in and around the towns held hostage. Although the Western media reports any claim of abuse made by the Obama supported “rebels” there is never a mention of the atrocities committed by Islamist rebels forces..........

Detainees in Turkey start hunger strike

Isn't it Ramadan anyway?   Oh ... I get it !    These guys won't be eating anything whereas those Ramadan-ing will sleep a lot when not eating and on awaking will gorge themselves until they fall asleep again.    
BTW .... what a difference between the protesters in Turkey and the savages in Egypt, right?  No rapists in the Turkish crowds, that must be  one of the reasons.

Around 50 people who were detained   because of the Gezi park protests in Istanbul began a hunger strike on Wednesday, as prosecutors extended their detention period and the death toll from the Gezi Park incidents rose to five, Turkish media reported.

The move by prosecutors was met with strong public reaction, with the Taksim Solidarity Platform and other human rights organizations and unions calling for the detainees’ immediate release, Radikal, a Turkish daily, reported.

The Taksim Solidarity Platform is made up of over 100 nongovernmental organizations.



On July 8, police detained seven members of the Taksim Solidarity Platform, which is made up of over 100 nongovernmental organizations .  Mucella Yapici, who had recently taken part in a delegation which met Prime Minister Erdogan, was among those arrested. Yapici’s residence was also searched by the police. Houses belonging to eight other people with links to the organization were searched, as well.

The Human Rights Association (IHD) called on officials to release members who “were detained while exercising their right to demonstrate.”.............

“The police are trying to intimidate people by detaining Solidarity Platform members. Even the detentions have not sufficed; the police have conducted lengthy searches at the houses of those who were detained,” the IHD said in a statement.

The head of the Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions (DISK), Kani Beko, also spoke out against the detentions, calling them “unlawful” and “unfair.”

“Be it through detentions, arrests or the searches, or the attitude towards organizations like the Chamber of Architects and Engineers (TMMOB), the unlawfulness and unfairness of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) government [has been shown],” Beko said.....

Arrogant Erdogan aggressively pushing for reinstating Morsi

Its Western and Arab allies' hesitation to criticise the military coup is, said the newspaper, "a disappointment" to the government in Ankara. It said that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu have contacted the UN, US, EU and Arab countries such as Qatar to discuss the issue.
"Our message is clear," said Davutoglu. "We want the world to call what happened in Egypt a coup. Military coups are not acceptable either in Egypt or any other place." The reinstatement of the deposed president and his government has to be a priority for countries which believe in real democracy, he insisted. "The fact that Turkey was alone amongst its allies to condemn the coup was disappointing."
Support from Qatar and Saudi Arabia for the coup could, the newspaper warned, affect their alliance with Turkey over the Syrian crisis.
A senior official in the Turkish foreign ministry, who asked to remain anonymous, told Hurriyet, "We made clear that the process in Egypt will be an important test for the Arab Spring. We hope that they revise their positions."....

Something is not right in the world of honey bees

Some researchers first noticed that bees were dying off in Japan and as a result many of the cherry blossom trees there were also showing a "fading off".  Some say only one species of the bees, the European honey bee, is affected.  Is it because of the pesticides or something else?  Is this another kind of an environmental funding scheme or for real?  And, if really happening,  what would the implications mean  to our food supply?

The first vid is from 2007 .... so this problem of  bees dying off  in their millions has been going on for a while.  It now looks like Ontario's beekeepers have also been hard hit.

Beekeeper John Van Blyderveen  is troubled by the silence in his laneway in Ontario's Oxford County.

The familiar summertime buzz of bees hovering over the lush cherry blossom trees is noticeably absent. The flowers sit untouched.

"This is extremely unusual for this being a bee farm, there are no bees here," Van Blyderveen says. "This is really sad."

This increasingly familiar scene, which is playing out across North America and Europe, worries beekeepers, farmers and scientists who have been tracking the collapse of honeybee colonies over the past decade.
In the process, two main camps have emerged, vigorously debating the root causes of the decline.


Some scientists and insecticide companies suggest the bees are being overrun by an infestation of mites, while other observers suggest seeds coated with neonicotinoid insecticide – or "neonics" – are to blame.

On July 9, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne announced she will convene a working group – made up of a range of experts – to study this issue and provide recommendations.

It's a puzzle with huge implications. Bees and other pollinators are responsible for ensuring most fruit and vegetable crops around the world mature into food.

Most sources suggest about one-third of the food we eat is reliant on pollinators, and Bloomberg Business Week estimates bee pollination affects "$200 billion worth of crops annually."

At long last, British kids will be taught their ancestors were not monsters

Britian's Secretary of State for Education has introduced a new curriculum for their young.  A little too late, in my opinion although a great many on the Right seem to think it will help to set things right.

I'm glad to see that the new National Curriculum will be big on British history. The present state of affairs is dire, and has long needed an overhaul. When the natives have been taught to hate their ancestors, who's going to teach the newcomers how lucky they are to be in their new homeland?

Identity is a precious thing. Like my daughter: she was born in London and has lived here all her (almost) ten years. She knows the words to "God Save the Queen" (almost) and whooped when Andy Murray won at Wimbledon.

But if Izzy feels patriotic, she doesn't know why. She has only the vaguest idea who Winston Churchill was – though she knows why Boudicca is remembered. She talks about the Great Fire of London and the Blitz as if they were a few years apart. Her history projects have been like a connect-the-dots drawing – without the connecting lines.
She solemnly told me that the British had been very nasty to Jamaica – they'd stolen its trains. This, in year 4, was her introduction to Empire. I know what will come next: slavery, of course, and racism and oppression – important subjects, but not the whole story. By the time our national curriculum is finished with them, every schoolchild in Britain has learned that their ancestors were bullies and egomaniacs. Instead of imparting an identity, the coursework will leave them with an identity complex. That will not make them confident citizens.

Michael Gove promises things will change. I hope so, for our children's sake.
The time has come for a national curriculum that instils a sense of national pride in our children.

Australia's new Parliamentary Secretary takes oath of office on koran

I have no words to express my "bigotry".  We are all suicidal now !!

However, after receiving dozens of messages of congratulations on his Facebook page, the comments quickly turned to disgust and outrage that he had chosen to be sworn in on the Muslim holy book.

Some called it un-Australian and unconstitutional.

The tale of Baa the woolly sheep and her mechanic

Wonderful little story.  I hope the Australians have not gone total bonkers like the Brits who ignore the real perils of shariah but clamp down hard on  good decent people who are non-Muslim.
Yup ... like you (and don't pretend you didn't think the same thing) on reading the first few sentences I too thought the lovely Baa Baa was kept for ulterior reasons but then was relieved to see she was a pet and not a lover.

About eleven years ago a mechanic called Vu Ho, of Springvale, Australia, decided to buy himself a pet. He made the unusual choice of a sheep, which he named Baa. Baa is now thought to be 16 and she and Vu are Best Friends Forever. He takes her around town in his BMW (he puts the backseat down so that she can fit in snuggly), she nuzzles him and he pets and feeds her. There’s no hint of romance; Baa's dignity has never been compromised. It’s all very wholesome and very Australian.

A couple of years ago a ranger told Vu that he had to get rid of Baa. Why? Because her presence in his house violated a Greater Dandenong council by-law stating that livestock cannot be kept on land of less than half a hectare without a permit. “Fine”, said Vu, “I’ll get a permit.” To his shock, he was refused one – because some bigots in city hall don’t regard a sheep as an acceptable pet. Discovering that state law took his side over the council, Vu decided to get legal and took his case to court. Incredibly – rather than turning a blind eye – the council decided to lawyer up too and take Vu on. Obstinacy squared off against obstinacy until the case went to the state’s highest courts at an estimated cost of $150,000. Refused legal aid, Vu defended himself and lost. But he’s still not giving up. “God is on my side,” he told reporters. And he’s almost certainly right.

For this story is an example of two things: a) the petty authoritarianism of government and b) the brilliant bloody-mindedness of some of its victims. Vu, by the way, is used to fighting tyrants. When the council chose to make an example of him it probably didn’t realise it was taking on one of Vietnam’s toughest dissidents. In the 1970s, Vu tried to start his own democratic revolution in communist Vietnam, by printing forged documents for the resistance out of a secret headquarters that he set up opposite Saigon police quarters. His cojones only got bigger over time. Vu built himself a gun that looked like a pen and taught himself how to make explosives. The commies caught him and threw him in prison where he was sentenced to four years in Hell. He convinced the guards to put him in charge of security (how?!) and slipped away into the jungle on New Year’s Eve. Vu ran through the jungle for two hours with a broken foot, took a truck to Saigon, laid low, fashioned a boat, carried the vessel along the coast to avoid the police and then sailed to Thailand. From there he gained refugee status in Australia, where he’s lived since 1981 as a quiet, unassuming mechanic with broken English. In short, Vu Ho is a freaking legend.

It’s extraordinary that, having fled a totalitarian nightmare for the supposedly free world, Vu now finds himself once again pitched against an Orwellian bureaucracy in his defence of his right to drive a sheep around in his BMW. But it’s probably his experience of authoritarianism in Vietnam that has made such a determined defender of freedom in Australia. He doesn’t care about the costs (“I risked my life to get here [to Australia] so it’s nothing to lose money.”) and he’s happy to go it alone (his brilliant 115 page submission was so good that the judge said, “I haven’t seen such well-directed research by an unrepresented litigant … for some time.”) Vu is a classic example of an individual who has spent his life resisting the prejudices and bullying of others. He’s a one-man Tea Party. The government will take his sheep from his cold dead hands….....

Canadian testifies before US Congress on plight of Syrian Christians

Canadian Rev.Majed El Shafie, President and Founder of One Free World International, appeared before the US Congress to plead that they not send arms to the Syrian rebels.  This man is doing much more for Christians in Muslim countries than the Vatican.  Shame on the Vatican!!

El Shafie had the opportunity once again to testify before the United States Congress about the persecution of religious minorities, this time in Syria where the historic Christian community and other minorities are caught in the middle of the conflict between the regime of President Bashar al-Assad and Islamist rebels seeking its overthrow.

Rev. El Shafie’s testimony focused on the U.S. government’s recent decision to supply weapons and ammunition to Syrian rebels in response to evidence of chemical weapons use by the regime. To be clear, OFWI does not condone the use of chemical weapons in any circumstance and we believe the Assad regime, directly and through its support for Hezbollah, Hamas, and Iran, is a threat to the stability of the region and the security of Israel. However, we have serious concerns about the impact the United States’ new policy direction will have on Syrian religious minorities, peace for the Syrian people, and stability in the broader Middle East.

The Christian community in Syria pre-dates the existence of Islam by hundreds of years, but accounts for less than 10% of the population today, alongside a Sunni majority of about 74%. Alawites and other Shi’a Muslims account for approximately 13%, while Druze, Yezidis, and others make up the remainder. Under Assad’s secular Ba’athist regime, these communities were free to worship although their activities were closely monitored and, while Alawites form the regime’s core support, Sunnis, Christians, and others could be found in prominent positions in government and business life. The current conflict, however, has changed everything.

The violence began in March 2011 when peaceful demonstrations, inspired by the wave of popular uprisings across the Middle East dubbed “the Arab Spring”, were responded to by President Assad with brutal force. Dictators in Egypt and Libya were quickly replaced by Islamic extremists that have turned the “Arab Spring” into a “Deadly Winter” for the minorities of those countries. President Assad, on the other hand, has so far succeeded in holding off the rebels but not without a heavy cost, including about 100,000 lives lost and over 5 million people forced to flee to safer areas of Syria or as refugees to surrounding countries...........

I wonder why the bleeding heart lefty in the Vatican can't do something good for the Christians in Nigeria ....

instead of praying for  the mostly Muslim refugeees in Lampedusa who would love to kill Christians and many of whom might have already done so.  Why does Pope Francis remind me of Obama?  Maybe, because both sound pretty insincere and more like Oscar winning actors.

$ 200 Billion to see stupid men kicking balls at each other

I wonder what the people in poor  countries think when they see the sheikdoms  throw billions of dollars away on frivolous pastimes (in my opinion) when that kind of money could have been used to teach the poor in Africa and elsewhere how to cultivate and grow food and livestock which would  make them more self-sufficient and less dependent on other countries.  Given that most of the Muslim countries have the biggest percentage of  the dirt poor in the world,  one would have expected the fucking arab countries with their never-ending supply of money to do some good in those nations instead of only opening madrasas to breed suicide bombers and jihadis.

Life without electricity in flooded Toronto

In my area of Toronto, we SUFFERED for six LONG hours.  Yeh, I know ... that's laughable ... but that's how much pampered and dependent on the niceties of comfort we have become.  Even six hours was hard to take. There are some areas of Toronto where people are still without power so I consider myself pretty lucky to have been without for only six hours.

The heavy downpour in Toronto and vicinity started at around 4 PM and within two hours several parts of the city were flooded.

A gathering of jihadis

Check out the number of countries waging war on Syria.  At last count there were jihadis from  21 countries killing Assad's soldiers and supporters, which include Christians, Shiites, Alawites and other minorities. Over the past few months, online jihadis have been using Twitter on a daily basis to disseminate photos of martyrs killed on jihadi fronts in Syria. These martyrs are from around the world – Italy, Spain, Belgium, Albania, the Philippines, Afghanistan, Yemen, Somalia, Morocco, Jordan, Libya, Kuwait, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Dagestan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Bahrain, and Algeria – and among them are prominent sheikhs, well-known writers on online jihadi forums, scientists, students, and others, from many different terrorist/jihadi organizations (see MEMRI Inquiry and Analysis No. 939, Faces Of Death: On Twitter, Jihadis Distribute Photos Of 'Martyrs', February 22, 2013).

These martyrdom tweets serve multiple purposes: publicizing the martyrs' last wishes, celebrating their actions, informing the martyrs' family and friends of their deaths, and inspiring others by portraying the martyrs as heroes who should be emulated. Yet another purpose is to ask readers for information about unidentified martyred jihadis.

One notable martyr whose death photo has been widely disseminated is Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev. For example, on April 20, 2013, @albaraibnmalik1 tweeted: "Boston bomber 'Tamerlan Tsarnayev,' you have the peace of God, and I saw the great freedom does not have an age." He uses the hashtags #Boston, #America, and #bombing (warning – graphic image).

These martyrdom photos are very frequently retweeted. In addition, some Twitter accounts are major disseminators of images of dead martyrs. These include: @FaresKm44, identified as belonging to one "Fares Shami," and described as "a field activist and  a journalist for the Mujahideen in Syria"; @albaraibnmalik1, identified as belonging to "Abu Al-Baraa Al-Ahsa'i" and described as of "the martyr sheikh Abu Abdelmalik Al-Ahsa'i"; and @KAIKawthar, identified as belonging to "Kateeba Al-Kawthar" and described as "a group of Mujahideen & nation builders." Tweets from these accounts are included in this report.

It is interesting to note that in one tweet, @albaraibnmalik1 stated, "Praise to you, people of Libya" because, he claims, that country has sent the most mujahideen who have died as martyrs.
Additionally, hashtags are created to honor specific "martyrs," and are widely used when disseminating videos of the individual in life and in death, his last will and testament, and thoughts and prayers from family and friends. Samples of tweets from the #Martyrdom_Abdallah_Ibrahim_Al-Dakheel and #Martyrdom_Ali_Bin_Sa'di_Al-Samali_Al_Subai'i hashtags are included in this report.

Over the past month, since MEMRI finished compiling the tweets included in this report, the number of martyr tweets has increased exponentially; when MEMRI first began focusing on the phenomenon, only a few Twitter accounts were sending them out, and not in great numbers. This is indicative of jihadis' increasing embrace of and dependence on Twitter.

America has lost a decade of growth ... according to some

Only one?  America has lost two decades....and that will be seen more clearly maybe a decade from now.   The downhill started with the Bush presidency (one wrong war in Iraq instead of Saudi Arabia, other war with losing strategy of  "showing respect" to the enemy in Afghanistan)  and has continued with Obama.    So ....say 16 years attributed to the mismanagement  from the  last two presidents  plus  give  at least 4 years for things to be pulled back, somewhat,  on  track.  And, what if,  horror of horrors, the delusional voters down south appoint yet another lousy president in 2016?   Yikes !!

So ... IMO, Mathew C.Klein's article below showing that the USA has lost only a decade of growth is inaccurate.  The merry gig being performed by the US stock markets is an illusion and we know what usually happens to those kind of perceptions.

....The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that 195,000 jobs were added last month -- significantly better than the consensus forecast of economists (165,000). Another 70,000 jobs were added in March and April thanks to revisions. While the news isn’t bad, we shouldn’t be calling it “good,” either. Some perspective is in order. 
Remember above all else this analysis from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, which looks at the impact of aging and slowing population growth to determine how many jobs are needed to return to full employment. These economists calculate that it would take four more years of job gains at the current pace of 195,000 per month to completely close the gap that began opening at the end of 2007.

In other words, the U.S. is on track for a lost decade under the most optimistic assumptions. It will take even longer to return to full employment if the Chicago Fed’s demographic analysis turns out to be incorrect, or if the present rate of job creation can't be sustained over the next several years.
The composition of jobs being added is also a worry. Of the 195,000 jobs added last month, 112,000 were in the categories of “leisure and hospitality” and “retail.” Those positions usually pay less and have fewer benefits. The number of people working part-time who would rather be working full-time soared in June by 322,000. No wonder average hourly earnings for private-sector workers continue to increase by only about 2 percent annually..........

Below is an example of how disgracefully Muslims treat their vanquished enemies, especially if they are Christian.  Whenever we read anything about Serbia and Kosovo try to remember that it was the USA under Clinton's presidency who spearheaded the NATO initiative against the Serbs (Serbs are predominantly Orthodox Christians)  and  NATO was once again helping Muslims trample and triumph over Christians. ....EULEX’s independent human rights panel    said on Monday that the mission had not done enough to ensure the security of Serbs who gathered a year ago to mark the anniversary of the ‘Battle of Kosovo’ in 1389.

The annual commemoration event last May in Gazimestan on St. Vitus Day, celebrated by Serbs as Vidovdan, came after clashes between Kosovo police and Serbs which left more than 60 people injured.

The human rights panel found that EULEX “had allocated insufficient resources to ensure respect for human rights by the Kosovo authorities and third parties during the Vidovdan security operation”, it said in a written statement.

“The complainants submitted that they were the subject of attacks, which included, inter alia, the throwing of stones and Molotov cocktails at teenage children who were travelling on buses from Gazimestan to Gracanica/Gracanice at the conclusion of the Vidovdan celebrations,” the statement said.

“Moreover, the panel found that EULEX failed to conduct a thorough and adequate investigation into the allegations of human rights violations,” it said.

Hundreds of Serbs travelled to Kosovo for the Vidovdan celebrations last year, some wearing nationalist T-shirts and singing Serbian nationalist songs.

On arriving at Gazimestan, they were stopped by police and forced to remove any nationalist symbols.

This provoked groups of mainly Serbs to sing nationalist songs and chant the names of Bosnian Serb military and political chiefs Ratko Mladic and Radovan Karadzic, who are on trial for alleged war crimes in The Hague......

Morsi's ouster also means Hamas's banishment from Egypt

Hamas thugs are shivering in their sandaled feet.  Are the secular pallies gutsy enough to grab this moment and overthrow their terrorist overlords?

....These are tough days for Hamas. After losing the military and financial support of Iran and Syria, Hamas has now lost its main allies in Egypt.

The downfall of the Muslim Brotherhood regime in Egypt is a severe blow to Hamas, whose leaders are now studying ways of avoiding a "revolution" that could end their rule in the Gaza Strip.

But although Hamas has suffered a major setback in wake of the ouster of Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi, it is premature to talk about the beginning of the countdown for the collapse of the Hamas regime.

The Gaza Strip has neither an organized opposition nor an army that could assist in removing Hamas from power.

One of the biggest fears is that if Hamas is toppled, those who would replace it would not be any better. This is particularly true in light of the growing popularity of various Islamist groups operating inside the Gaza Strip, some of which are affiliated with al-Qaeda.

Hamas supporters were the first to celebrate the toppling of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, and the first to take to the streets in jubilation over the victory of the Muslim Brotherhood candidate, Morsi, in the general elections a year ago.

Morsi's rise to power had been seen by Hamas and other Muslims as a "divine victory": Allah's gift to his believers.

Contrary to Mubarak, Morsi's regime adopted a completely different policy toward Hamas.

While Mubarak dealt with Hamas and the Gaza Strip as a "security" issue, Morsi sought to legitimize the Palestinian Islamist movement in the eyes of the whole world.

For the first time ever, and much to the dismay of the West Bank's Palestinian Authority leaders, under Morsi, Hamas leaders became regular and welcome guests in the Egyptian presidential palace.

Morsi's rise to power emboldened Hamas in a way that allowed it further to tighten its grip on the Gaza Strip.

For Hamas, there was nothing better than having the full political backing of Egypt, the largest and most important country in the region.

During the last war between Israel and Hamas, "Operation Pillar of Defense," and much to the dismay of Fatah's Palestinian Authority leaders in the West Bank, Morsi dispatched Egyptian prime minister Hesham Qandil to the Gaza Strip, in an unprecedented show of solidarity with the Hamas regime..........

......... Although Hamas leaders have publicly played down the significance of the Egyptian coup, reports from the Gaza Strip suggest that some leaders of the Islamist movement are already nervous.

According to one report, the new rulers of Egypt have issued an order banning all Hamas leaders from entering their country.

Another report said that Egyptian security authorities have arrested several Hamas members based in Cairo and Sinai on charges of involvement in terror attacks against Egyptians.

Hamas leaders who tried to contact senior Egyptian government officials over the past few days said their phone calls were being totally ignored........

Arson as a weapon for jihadis

Forewarned is forearmed ... only the naive and faint of heart will forever ignore and  disregard nightmarish possibilities because they are stupidly confident that such scenarios will never come their way.   If one tries to warn these zombies they counter back with demented cries of "racist" (as if islam is a race, but then when has the Left ever got anything Right... hahaha)  and "islamophobe"  and other stupid stuff.  

Instead of sending our hard-earned taxpayers' dollars to Muslim countries why can't that same money be utilized in research that can find ways and means to combat these ever increasing fires which are conveniently attribute to dry conditions and heat?

According to ABC News, a recent issue of Inspire magazine has surfaced on jihadi forums with one article titled ”It Is of Your Freedom to Ignite a Firebomb”, which gives detailed instructions on how to build an “ember bomb” in a forest in the United States, and suggested Montana as a choice location due to the rapid population growth in forested areas.

In America, there are more houses built in the [countryside] than in the cities. It is difficult to choose a better place [than] in the valleys of Montana.

A previous issue of the magazine contained information on how to construct remote-controlled explosives, and helpfully listed the needed parts along with instructions and photos.

ABC News has been calling around today to find a wildfire expert who can be interviewed on camera for a piece they expect to be on Wednesday’s Good Morning America. One person they called was Dick Mangan, a past President of the International Association of Wildland Fire (IAWF), but ABC was not able to work out the logistics of quickly getting a camera crew to his house in Montana. The last we heard they found someone in the Sacramento area who works for CAL FIRE............



As usual,  Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs has been making people aware of  the threat of arson by jihadists.  She wrote in  October 2012:

"This method allows (al-Qaeda) to inflict significant economic and moral damage without serious preliminary preparations, technical equipment or significant expenses."
In linking al-Qaeda to the deadly wildfires, Mr Bortnikov pointed to calls to launch a "forest jihad" by various extremist websites which he said also publish detailed instructions about how and where to best carry out arson.
He said it was very difficult for special services to find and prosecute such arsonists.
Deadly fires have swept through forest land in EU countries such as Portugal and Spain over the past few months, killing scores of people and forcing thousands to evacuate........

And then again on  June 18, 2013, Pamela Geller tried to speak reason to the ever increasing number of zombies all over the Judeo-Christian nations with this:

Terrorists attack India's pilgrimage site Bodh Gaya temple complex in Bihar

Bodh Gaya   not only has a deep significance to the devotees of  Mahatma Buddha but it is also a holy site which is admired by tourists  as this is one of the places which is on the "must see" list for those visiting  Bihar State.  Luckily, according to several reports,  it appears that the holy site has not suffered any significant damage and neither has the Bodhi tree (see vid below to learn about the tree).

Two people were injured in the blasts and both were pilgrim monks from the nearby Buddhist nations of Tibet and Burma.  More injuries or deaths were prevented by defusing bombs detected in other places around the temple complex and town.

...Serial blasts rock Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya; terror attack, Centre says.  Nine serial explosions rocked the Mahabodhi Temple complex in Bodh Gaya on Sunday morning, leaving at least five people injured.
Union home secretary Anil Goswami confirmed that the Bodh Gaya blasts were a terror attack.
According to Gaya Police, the blasts took place in quick succession between 5.30 am and 6 am in the temple complex and near the Mahabodhi tree.
While four blasts took place inside the Mahabodhi Temple complex, three occurred in Karmapa monastery, one each near near the 80-ft Buddha statue and at the bus stand near bypass, DIG Magadh range Nayyer Hussnain Khan said.

Arvind Singh, a member of Mahabodhi Temple Management Commitee said two other bombs, one near the 80 feet statue and one at bus stand have been defused.......

...In a well-coordinated terror attack, nine low-intensity serial blasts on Sunday targeted the world renowned pilgrimage town of Bodh Gaya and Maha Bodhi Temple complex, one of the holiest Buddhist shrines, early in the morning that left two monks injured.



Frequented by Buddhist pilgrims from Sri Lanka, China, Japan and the whole of southeast Asia, the temple and the Bodhi Tree, under which Lord Buddha is believed to have attained enlightenment, did not suffer any damage in the blasts which shook the holy town.

The monks, Tenzing Lama and Bala Sanga, are admitted at the Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital (ANMMCH) at Gaya and their condition is stable, hospital superintendent Sitaram Prasad said.....

Disaster in Lac-Mégantic, Quebec

Let's hope it's not as bad as many are expecting it to be.  Loss of  close to 100  lives (that figure is from outside the Canadian media, how they get more info than our own media is anyone's guess)  plus hundreds rendered homeless will be a hard hit to the town and area.

When the runaway ghost train rolled   into the heart of town and detonated like a bomb, levelling the entire historic central district of pretty Lac-Mégantic, Que., survivors say that life or death depended on where you happened to be standing.

A day after the conflagration which destroyed at least 30 buildings, including a packed bar, apartments and all the town’s archives, fire still raged. With one confirmed dead, hope was diminishing for dozens of people who remained missing.  Medical officials reported almost no injuries. Those who failed to escape probably did not survive to seek treatment.

Many of those missing were indoors, such as the patrons of the Musi-Café bar who filled the building when 73 train cars rolled in out of control at 1:15 a.m. ET Saturday morning.

Those who were outside when the driverless train failed to negotiate a bend had a chance. Some survivors were out for a smoke. Some were going home after a enjoying a few drinks at a packed bar near the epicentre of the explosion. Others were out for a stroll ended up running just a metre or two ahead of a river of fire – tons of burning crude oil flowing down city streets and into the lake.

So far, the Surêté du Québec is confirming only one death and refusing to validate reports that anywhere between 50 and 80 people are missing. An officer speaking on condition of anonymity Saturday afternoon told a Globe and Mail reporter he had 50 names on his list. Agence France-Presse put the number at 80.

In the final police briefing for Saturday, Lieutenant Guy Lapointe would say only: “There is one confirmed death. But we expect others.”

Those who were on the scene when the immense fireball turned buildings into piles of ash have no doubt the death toll will be big.

" Everybody who didn’t make it back is dead," said Frédérique Mailloux, a 38-year-old stay-at-home mom, who said six of her friends are missing. “I have cried every tear in my body.”

Nearly two square kilometres of the downtown were razed, according to fire chief Denis Lauzon. “The scene is like one you see after a big forest fire. There are only parts of the buildings left, trees have been completely burnt, there is no grass left, the cars are charred. This is total destruction.”........

Turkey's protesters very much defiant

More than a month and the protesters in Turkey have not given up their daily protests against islamist Erdogan and his gang.

Police barricaded Istanbul's   main Taksim Square and used water cannons to disperse crowds on Saturday to prevent demonstrators from entering Gezi Park, the site of protests for more than a month.
Interior Minister Muammer Guler said the government won't permit "illegal" demonstrations in the park.
"We will not and cannot permit demonstration or marches in those places," the minister said. "Without it being a demonstration or a protest march, they can use Gezi Park as they please. We will not allow tents.
"Right now in Istanbul there is a search and a push for ways to have illegal gatherings. Our police is not permitting this," Guler said.



Witnesses who spoke to CNN by phone reported use of water cannons and tear gas on Istiklal Street, one of the main arteries leading to Taksim Square.
The 6th Administrative Court in Istanbul overruled some parts of the Taksim development project, including plans to rebuild old barracks in Gezi Park.
Taksim Solidarity, an umbrella platform of activists and civil society groups, put out a call after ruling for people to gather in Gezi Park, which has not been open to the public since June 16.
"We are going to our park to deliver the court decision by hand, which cancels the project aimed to disidentify, depopulate and concretize Gezi Park, to the ones who shut the park down to the people," said Taksim Solidarity in a written statement. "We are going to our park to open its doors to its real owners, so to everyone again."
"They are in the smaller streets trying to prevent people from even reaching Istiklal," said Irem Koker, an eyewitness.
CNN witnessed several men being detained by police. One demonstrators said "this is a police state," as water cannons were being used to disperse the crowd.
Some residents exploded in anger at the police barricades.........
