- any kind of financial, material or moral support by the state or state institutions to religion and religious activities should be prohibited;

- teaching any religious subjects, dogmas, doctrines, etc should be prohibited in all of the schools;

- all educational establishments must be co-educational;

- alluring young people under 16 to religious sects, religious ceremonies and locations should be prohibited;

- any religious laws and regulations that influence childrenвs creativity and their inalienable right to a happy life, and prevent their participation in social and leisure activities, should be revoked;

- wearing or carrying all religious symbols, such as Islamic hijab, in schools should be prohibited.

....A Saudi Arabian woman has been handed a punishment of 50 lashes for sending an obscene text message, it was reported.

According to Arabic language Saudi daily Kabar, the woman was given the sentence after being found guilty at a trial held in the holy city of Makkah.

The court found that the Saudi national had cursed and made racist remarks to her friend in the message following an argument between the two over how to best spend a weekend evening.

The women that received the message went to court and made a formal complaint against her friend and showed the judge the message.

Although the accused said she was joking, the court ordered her to be lashed.....

The Ontario government investigated 26 deaths involving its troubled air ambulance service over the past six years, secret government documents show.

The deaths were related to 145 incidents involving Ornge since 2007 that were investigated by the Ministry of Health, according to the confidential papers obtained by the Progressive Conservatives.

They included delays in dispatching air ambulances, paramedics unable to perform CPR due to cramped conditions in the helicopters, staff shortages and paramedics running out of supplies like oxygen and medication.

Chief coroner Andrew McCallum said Friday that his office has investigated all of the Ornge cases brought to its attention, and some investigations are still ongoing.

"Of our completed investigations, there have been no cases in which issues with air ambulance transportation materially affected the course of the patient's illness or injury," McCallum said.

One investigation of a car crash in the London area on July 17, 2011, noted that Ornge didn't respond to the call -- even though there was an aircraft available in Toronto -- because its dispatch centre was waiting to see "if the patient was hurt enough." One person died and the coroner was notified.

Forty of the incidents -- five of which involved the death of a patient -- were opened this year, after the government installed new leadership at Ornge.......

Maha al-Sudani, the former wife of Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Nayef ben Abdel Aziz, tried to walk out on 3:30 am Thursday without paying for her suite and those of her 60-strong entourage, prompting staff to call in police, Le Parisien reported.

The Saudi Arabian ambassador was also contacted during the incident, added Le Parisien, which noted that Sudani enjoys diplomatic immunity.

When contacted by AFP, the luxury hotel's director Alain Borgers said that that are "no problems" with its clients and "no unpaid bills" at the moment.

The princess has already had previous run-ins over unpaid bills. In 2009, fashion chain Key Largo went to court to obtain 89,000 euros owed by the princess.

They would prefer to risk the safety of people around the shooter.... as long as political correctness is alive and eating away at the bare naked truth and their insides, everything is hunky-dorey.

At 10:20 AM today, the Toronto Police Services broadcast a notice about a News Conference at 2 PM today.

Probably at that time they will give a description of the shooter. Almost 20 hours after the event.

What a hypocrite. McGuinty's policies of divisiveness have done everything possible to show the Catholics in Ontario that he considers us to be punching bags for him and for anybody he sics on us. What exactly is Lauren Bruton, his Minister of Education dong?  If  her words and actions are not considered  bullying, then what  is?

... A 25-year-old man is dead and two people have been rushed to hospital in critical condition, including a 13-year-old boy, following a shooting inside the Eaton Centre food court Saturday evening.

It happened at around 6:20 p.m.

The 13-year-old boy and a man in his 20s were rushed to hospital in critical condition while two men and a woman were taken in serious condition. All were suffering from gunshot wounds.



A 30-year-old pregnant woman was also injured during the rush and is now in labour.

An interior search of the mall is complete and the shooter is still at-large.

"The injuries to the man who was killed suggest that he was the targeted victim of this shooting, but there are a number of other people who were clearly innocent bystanders going about their daily lives," Toronto Police Chief Bill Blair told reporters at the scene late Saturday night. "This is a very, very serious crime and the level of violence and wanton disregard for the lives and safety of fellow citizens is shocking to us and should be shocking to the people of Toronto."

Blair said police do have a description of the suspect and will release it to the media once it is confirmed through video evidence and witness interviews.........

....Canada has formalised its withdrawal from the UN tourism body after Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe was invited to become a global leader in the sphere and sent a letter in recognition of Zimbabwe's co-hosting of the organisation's general assembly next year.

John Baird, the Canadian foreign minister, said the correspondence by the UN world tourism office (UNWTO), in which its secretary general reportedly praised Mugabe and the president of Zambia, Michael Sata, on Tuesday for their role in tourism at Victoria Falls, was the "last straw" in the country's participation.

"After [Baird] heard that [Mugabe] was honoured at an event, after he was invited to join this global leaders group, he signed the order in council almost immediately," said Joseph Lavoie, spokesman for Baird, referring to the mechanism needed to formalise Canada's notice period.

He added: "They were legitimising him by enlisting Mugabe to promote tourism."

The UNWTO disputed Canada's reasoning, pointing out that Mugabe had not – as had been claimed – been appointed as a special ambassador for tourism or given any special title.

In a statement, the body said it did not have an ambassadorial programme and the event at Victoria Falls had been held in order for an agreement to be signed by the UNWTO, Zimbabwe and Zambia to permit the hosting of the general assembly at the waterfall, which straddles the borders of both countries.

It added that the letter sent to the Zimbabwean president had also been sent to the leaders of other countries as part of the UNWTO's "global leaders for tourism" campaign. "This letter was sent to all heads of state and government worldwide and aims to raise awareness of the potential of tourism for development, job creation and economic growth," it said....

So, the idiots at the UNWTO admit they included the mass murderer in their  "global leaders for tourism" campaign and yet they think they did nothing wrong.  That's the UN for you.  Happy will be the day when Canada comes to it's senses and gets out of this  mad organization once and for all.

This story is from a few years ago, but I just learnt of it today. It warmed my vengeful heart. How many times have we had our baggage mishandled by the airlines and had to take it in our stride instead of going through the rigmarole of getting them to make good the damage?

....United Airlines has learned a valuable lesson: Don't mess with a musician's prized possession.

Canadian folk singer Dave Carroll tried for nearly a year to get United to pay for his $3,500 Taylor guitar that he said baggage handlers broke. When the airline still refused to cough up any money, he did what any songwriter would do: He wrote a song about it.

"I called it my Michael Moore moment -- my epiphany when I decided what would Michael Moore do if he were a singer-songwriter and I decided to write three songs about United Airlines," Carroll told ABC News.

That first song and its accompanying YouTube video, called "United Breaks Guitars," has become a viral hit, with just over half a million page views since it was posted on Monday.



"I decided to go with a light-hearted approach to this and have some fun with it, rather than come across as angry and bitter, just to laugh about the whole experience and share the story with people," Carroll said.

The video finally got the attention of the airline, which is now trying to make nice with Carroll.

Note the pun in the statement United sent to ABCNews.com: "This has struck has a chord with us. We are in conversations with one another to make what happened right, and while we mutually agree that this should have been fixed much sooner, Dave Carroll's excellent video provides United with a unique learning opportunity that we would like to use for training purposes to ensure all customers receive better service from us." ....

UN Educational, Scientific & Cultural Org. (UNESCO) hosts a "Bash Israel" conference

The United Nations is a Mafia organization. I fail to understand why the USA and Canada are still funding this corrupt body. Everything it does and everything it stands for now, is totally against the thinking and views of the majority of the citizens in our two countries ... so how come our politicians are still signing approvals to the various funding going to this organization? It's really mind-boggling.

Ros-Lehtinen said the choice for the administration was clear.

“Rather than trying to defend the indefensible, the Obama administration must stop spinning for UNESCO, condemn that body’s anti-Israel behavior, and withdraw its request for Congress to amend U.S. law to restore funding to UNESCO.”....

He pointed among other things to the agency’s “long lasting engagement with the Department of Antiquities in Palestine for the mapping and the preservation of the rich Palestinian cultural heritage – intangible, cultural and natural heritage – [that] is an integral part of the nation-building process and important for fostering a greater appreciation by Palestinian young people of the wealth of their historical legacy.”

UNESCO’s work in that field has been seen as bolstering politically-explosive Palestinian claims to sites whose significance for Jews goes back thousands of years, including the traditional burial place in Hebron of biblical patriarchs Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.....
