My favorite candidate for the 2012 US Presidential election is a very busy woman. She has something in common with our own Governor General, the much admired RH Michaelle Jean. Just like our GG, Palin  is a full time supporter of troops in foreign lands who  fight, die or return with injuries all  on behalf of their countrymen. Palin and her husband are supporting organizations set up all over the USA with the intent of helping patriots and heroes returning from the wars, with injuries of both body and soul.

Also, her come-backs to Obama speech last night were several and to me, the following stood out:

Many Americans fundamentally disagree with this idea.We know from long experience that the creation of a massive new bureaucracy will not provide us with “more stability and security,” but just the opposite.

....Remember, Mr. President, elected officials work for the people. Forcing a conclusion in order to claim a “victory” is not healthy for our country. We hear you say government isn’t always the answer; now hear us -- that’s what we’ve been saying all along

Joe Wilson to the Messiah: "You Lie"

And now the heavens have opened up the floodgates and the deluge will drown poor Joe Wilson and his family, courtesy of the Left. The vilification has started in full force at Twitter. That's what they are good at, going after families of any individual they consider persona non grata. Last night, within an hour of his outburst, his website had been rendered completely useless. Obama's  hackers? Who knows.

Twitter was atwitter last night with posters both for and against Wilson going crazy. Rumour has it (from Twitter posters) that several  other representatives, both Republican and Democrat had brought in  A4 size signs hidden in their Agenda papers which they kept waving around during the speech. Signs with words like "Liar", "Bull Shit", "I didn't read the Bill", "What Bill?" etc.etc.

Other things I have learnt, and these maybe are just rumours, but remember that Twitter is the best place for whistle blowers who are gossips at heart:

1) Obama has been secretly rectifying the HealthCare reform Bill to suit his side and the Republicans have not been given the latest draft;

2) Since yesterday, people have been donating in droves to Joe Wilson's campaign and not just SC residents;

3) When Obama bashed Palin in the speech, the Dems stood up and went wild clapping. All but one republican idiot stood up to applaud, Bob Bennett of Utah. This guy was either napping and stood up with the others as a reflex motion (I have to confess, I do that at some church services) or he wants to be thrown out at the next primary.

4) What Glenn Beck teased us about yesterday, that he would be showing us something shocking today is going to be about ACORN and its fingers in vice rings of underage girls.

At Ayer's blog which has been inactive since the inauguration, Ayers has posted a quote from  the baby-faced Indian commie writer and activist Arundhati Roy:

I very much suspect that Ayers is one of the hidden czars who has Obama's ear. Am I paranoid? I don't think so.

Why as a Canadian, am I  so concerned about American politics? Simple answer: If USA becomes a communist nation, Canada will soon follow. I would rather die than submit to communism.

Comically, some major school districts, including New York City, were not even open yet. And this is the gang who wants to revamp national healthcare?

Today's Editorial from the Toronto Sun on the disastrous Mayor Miller's plans to increase spending to extend the Toronto Transit Corp's fleet of buses and staff, is going to make a lot of residents see red. Why, oh why is this city that I love so much, so full of these lefty nutjobs? What have we done to deserve this nightmare?  When are we going to see the last of this arrogant mayor? The other day I heard from a friend that the mayor said something about "right wing" to the effect that "I don't call them right wing, I call them something else" at a press conference and his minions started tittering. I could not find anything online about that remark but supposedly it was made, and it was viewed and noted as a slight by many Conservatives.

Now, this arrogant man is pushing his pet project, getting more and more services attached to the monster that the TTC has become. The TTC is one big wet dream for this union loving mayor. He and his party does not give a damn about the areas in North Ontario where Greyhound has either cut/planning to cut services. Nobody talks about looking into bettering the lives of Canadians up in those parts. No sirree !!! They do not count.  Toronto counts because here there  are those huge teat sucking communities that are nutured on the spoils that the  Liberal and NDP parties rob from the rest of Canada. 

The city increased property taxes just a few months ago and if this unionist mayor gets his way, one does not have to make like an Einstein to come to the conclusion that the city will raise taxes again. Please, please go away Mayor Miller. You are a nightmare.

Sarah Palin op-eds in the Wall Street Journal just in time to make that harassed President cross-check his scheduled speech with points Palin has made in her article.  Boy, oh boy - this woman is delightfully devious. The MSM was totally off the mark when they labelled her "empty-headed".  Moreover, looking at the writing, it is obvious her degree in journalism was well earned.  Every action of Palin's is an assurance to all women (minus lefty women of course) that the day is fast approaching when she will take the reins of  the USA.

...Common sense tells us that the government's attempts to solve large problems more often create new ones. Common sense also tells us that a top-down, one-size-fits-all plan will not improve the workings of a nationwide health-care system that accounts for one-sixth of our economy. And common sense tells us to be skeptical when President Obama promises that the Democrats' proposals "will provide more stability and security to every American."

With all due respect, Americans are used to this kind of sweeping promise from Washington. And we know from long experience that it's a promise Washington can't keep.

Obama wanted to show the Muslims that he did not care much for Israel and he deliberately misspoke. If it was a mistake, he had ample opportunity to correct the mistake as that section of his  remark ran on to three more sentences but he stuck to the "It" instead of substituting "It" with "United States". Especially, the sentence: "It will be a strong friend of Israel's under an Obama administration." if this sentence had used "United States" instead of "It", it would have been an emphatic point to put across to your audience. By not doing so, it is obvious that "IT" was deliberately used by this crafty magician.

According to BBC news Lubna Hussein preferred the jail term. Lubna Hussein is a true feminist. Not the run of the mill "boobs hanging to their waist" bimbos that most men think feminism is all about. And, note the difference between this Muslim woman and the empty-headed nitwit from Malaysia who was caught drinking beer.

Tragic News - 2 Canadian bravehearts die in combat

A powerful roadside bomb blast hit an armoured vehicle that was part of a Canadian convoy on a road southwest of Kandahar, bringing to 129 the total number of Canadian soldiers who have died as part of the Afghan mission since it began in 2002.

Killed in the explosion were 36-year-old Maj. Yannick Pepin and Cpl. Jean-Francois Drouin, 21 who were killed by an the IED explosion around noon local time in the Dand district, southwest of Kandahar city on Sunday.

A few hours ago, Palin came out with a statement:

Shame on the Associated Press for Ignoring the Wishes of a Grieving family.

Many of us join Secretary Gates in condemning the Associated Press for its heartless and selfish decision to turn its back on the wishes of a grieving family in order to exploit the tragic death of a true American hero.

Lance Corporal Joshua 'Bernie' Bernard was a selfless young American who sacrificed everything for our freedom.

Shame on the AP for purposely adding to the grieving family's pain. Ignoring the family's wishes by publishing a sacred image of their loved one proved a despicable and heartless act by the AP. The family said they didn't want the photo published. AP, you did it anyway, and you know it was an evil thing to do.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bernard family. Words can not adequately express our sorrow and appreciation for your sacrifice. We will never forget your Marine or his fallen comrades.

May God bless the Bernard family.

Personally, I have boycotted AP completely so I am happy to say I have been spared looking at the painful photographs of a dying soldier. AP is now a pawn in Soro's hands and as such the news service has ceased to have any credibility whatsoever.

The disappearance of these teens has the stench of Human Trafficking

When young teenagers go missing, the police investigators assigned to their cases must first assume that they could have been either kidnapped by a human trafficker or enticed to go with one willingly without knowing what is in store for them.

More often than not the police seem to take it for granted that the young people have ran away from home, and 80% of the time that happens to be the case. It is the other 20% possibility that the investigators should pay heed  to and not label all disappearances as "possible runaways".

It is exactly a year today that Maisy Odjick a 16 yr old and her friend Shannon Alexander, 17, disappeared from the Kitigan Zibi-Maniwaki area, north of Ottawa. The house where they were last known to be was locked from the outside. Left behind were their wallets, purses, clothes, electronics, identification and even medication.

These two vivacious and pretty teens have disappeared without a trace. A website has been set up for any tips or sightings.

Maisy's mother Laurie Odjick is adamant that her daughter would have never ran away. She is moreover certain that Maisy would not have left behind her most valued possessions like her camera, jewellery and family photos if she had indeed planned to run away. Maisy's mother and grandmother are both bearing the pain and uncertainty of what could have happened to this happy child. Laurie has poured out her feeling in a beautiful poem that the Ottawa Citizen has published.   Shannon's father is a heartbroken man today and just wants to know the truth of what could have happened to his daughter.  In his case too, the uncertainty is taking its toll.

What a sad, sad turn of events.  And to think that there are countless more like these.....

British officials claim Mr Obama and Mrs Clinton were kept informed at all stages of discussions concerning Megrahi’s return.

The officials say the Americans spoke out because they were taken aback by the row over Megrahi’s release, not because they did not know it was about to happen.

‘The US was kept fully in touch about everything that was going on with regard to Britain’s discussions with Libya in recent years and about Megrahi,’ said the Whitehall aide.

‘We would never do anything about Lockerbie without discussing it with the US. It is disingenuous of them to act as though Megrahi’s return was out of the blue.'
