I agree with some of the commentors at CTV's piece on the UAE having it in for us because we did not "give in to them and change our national trade policies" and that's why and how the UAE being a muslim country having mega influence with other muslim countries, contrived and connived to get the UN dictators like themselves to vote for Portugal and not for Canada in our bid for a seat on the Security Council.
What the UAE has done, does not bother me in the slightest and I am sure the vast majority of Canadians don't even know what or where the tiny little nothing place happens to be. Given that it's a muslim country, stabbing others in the back is what they do best and we are quite used to that attitude from those morons.
However, what the the United States of America has done to us is never to be forgotten or forgiven. Our closest neighbour and friend, many will say, our only neighbour, worked deliberately and slyly to shine up the places on our backs to make it easier for the UAE and other moslem countries to stab us with accuracy and efficiency. FoxNews has this to say:
The current conservative government in Canada had been campaigning for months to sit on the U.N.’s most powerful committee with no public support from the Obama administration. In fact, U.S. State Department insiders say that U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice not only didn’t campaign for Canada’s election but instructed American diplomats to not get involved in the weeks leading up to the heated contest. With no public American support, Canada lost its bid to serve. That gives the EU more than 25% control of the body and a strong voting block to ensure EU priorities become global priorities.....
...While Rice is currently in Africa on an official U.N. trip and was unable to attend Tuesday’s actual vote, she could have had her team work to Canada’s benefit. Instead she instructed colleagues to steer clear, effectively abandoning Canada....
....Some conservatives in Canada believe that the Obama team worked with Canadian liberals to leave Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s conservative government hanging without vocal U.S. support.....
With friends like the USA under Obama, AND the Canadian parties of the Liberals and NDP, does Canada need any enemies ?
Today's National Post has a letter from a reader who says:
Last year I toured the United Nations in New York. Our giddy tour guide breathlessly asked if we could name the only two countries (out of 188 member states) whose financial contributions were paid up in full and on time. Reflexively and correctly I said Canada (Norway I believe was the other). In fact we are the seventh-largest financial contributor to the UN. While our manpower contribution to UN peacekeeping operations has dropped to 50th or so, our ongoing contribution to the UN-sanctioned operations in Afghanistan has been enormous in terms of blood and treasure- far outstripping almost all other countries.
I worked for the United Nations as a peacekeeper for a year. I can still dine out, and dine well, regaling one and all with stories of the incredible UN incompetence and waste we encountered away from the front lines on that operation. Do we need the approval of such an organization? I think not.

The writer's last sentences all about sums up the feelings of Conservative Canadians who have been following this story. Although, when one is in a race, one wants to come out the winner.... failures can also have it's benefits, benefits which are clear only when we glimpse the situation from a new, more informed angle.
The regrets here are hugely to do with the United States of America and how Obama and his administration has slapped us. This is an affront that needs further investigation. We need to get an explanation from Susan Rice and from Obama why they felt we were not worthy of their support. The Canadian govt should enquire of the Obama administration on behalf of Conservative Canadians, if not on behalf of those who vote Liberal and NDP and have their reasons for hating the country that feeds them, the following :
Is Canada worthy when we support the USA by sending our troops to fight on their behalf?
Is Canada worthy when we sacrifice our young men and women in combat with the inhuman Taliban on behalf of the USA ?
Is Canada worthy when we support the USA wherever and whenever they want our support and goodwill ?
But, Canada is not worthy when it is the USA's turn to support us ? WHY IS THAT ?
Tell me, who are the real back-stabbers in this entire episode.
Was it the UAE and those who voted for the EU countries or was it our friends and neighbours.... the United States of America under Obama ???
Bring our troops home, each and every one of them.... NOW.

We didn't send the troops to fight on behalf of the US they were sent to support the US and other countries on behalf of the Afghan people.
ReplyDeleteAs for the United Nutters it is corrupt and we should not even be in it.
Okay... I agree we are not fighting there on behalf of the USA, however, we are definitely not there because we are in love with the Afghans. We are there to support the USA, nothing else. Feeling sorry for the Afghan people comes in second ... a long away second.
