On Police brutality and other forms of Nazism woken anew in the era of COVID-19

Every single day since mid March 2020,  I understand anew how deeply flawed and ugly happens to be the dregs of human nature within a large portion of my fellow human beings.  I used to wonder how those millions of  people living in Germany and the European countries the Nazis occupied, could let themselves be so stupidly docile and stand in queues to board trains taking them to the death camps or make them do the most inhumane things to other prisoners and go willingly into gas chambers or stand still against walls awaiting the Nazis' bullets.

After a few more months of this degradation that we are going through at this strange time, better known as "stay home stay safe" or "safe distance"  or "home quarantine" or whatever you want to call it, due to a virus that might kill probably a few thousand more than during the seasonal flu, many of us are going to be probably as docile as those who fell victims to the  Nazis.  You don't think so? 

Granted that this new disease is deadly ... you just have to look at the number of dead in New York State (whether those numbers are cooked or not).  We also know that by all accounts the disease is lethal to the senior population, especially those with a compromised immune system and especially to those in nursing home, but take a look at what the quarantine measures are doing to the rest of the population and to the economy of the world.  Is the lockdown and the destruction that is happening all around us justified?  IMO, definitely not.  

Below just some of the aspects of Nazism which are rising up round the world, emitting primarily from the Police Authorities and the Mayors, Governors, Premiers, doctors and other individuals holding power over common citizens.

I am firmly on the side of the anti-lockdown protests.  There are several such protests happening all over.  Thank goodness for these freedom loving people.  It's better to die free than be led willingly to a non-life because of some "models" and "tables" that the fearmongering academia "doctors" with ulterior motives have forced upon the politicians of the world.

UN raises alarm on police brutality during lockdowns
 UN says countries flouting the rule of law in the name of fighting coronavirus risk sparking a 'human rights disaster'.

The United Nations human rights chief has warned that countries flouting the rule of law in the name of fighting the novel coronavirus pandemic risk sparking a "human rights disaster".
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet called on countries to refrain from violating fundamental rights "under the guise of exceptional or emergency measures".
"Emergency powers should not be a weapon governments can wield to quash dissent, control the population, and even perpetuate their time in power," she warned in a statement on Monday.
"They should be used to cope effectively with the pandemic - nothing more, nothing less."
A top official from her office said about 80 countries have declared emergencies due to the new coronavirus, including 15 where the allegations were deemed most troubling.
They were: Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Honduras, Jordan, Morocco, Cambodia, Uzbekistan, Iran and Hungary.
However, Georgette Gagnon, director of field operations, added at a virtual briefing in Geneva "there are probably several dozen more we could have highlighted"..........

Fury in Kenya at police brutality

...........The officers fired tear gas, shot guns in the air and beat people with canes and rubber hoses, residents said. Nyambura was hit while trying to flee the scene, breaking in the process one of her flasks that she uses to sell coffee.
"There was no warning, they just started to beat people," Nyambura said on the phone. "Everyone on the road - it didn't matter your age, even grandparents - all were being beaten."
According to Nyambura, many people in the area had no idea the 7pm-to-5am curfew was actually in place. "It was a surprise because most slum people don't have a TV; they get information from one another and don't always get the right information."......

  Police brutality on the rise during lockdown
As South Africans acclimatise to life under lockdown, the security forces’ heavy-handedness has come under the spotlight, with many communities decrying how they carry themselves.
A week into the lockdown and already eight men have died allegedly the hands of the police.
The public outcry followed the killing of a Vosloorus man by a member of the Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department and a private security guard.
Sibusiso Amos, who had recently been released from prison after serving a 15-year sentence, was gunned down last week Sunday in front of his two nieces after he was allegedly contravening the lockdown regulations by “drinking alcohol and being at a tavern”. Locals, however, denied the notion....

The Prime minister of Mauritius has announced an investigation into alleged cases of police brutality while the island remains under total lockdown to contain the rapid spread of Covid-19. This comes after two men, apprehended by the police, were subsequently hospitalised.  ....

Police shot and killed two people for defying lockdown orders imposed by the government to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, according to Bloomberg.
Rwanda National Police spokesperson John Bosco Kabera said the two young men "attempted to tussle" with officers.....

  Concerns raised about extreme measures and power abuse during lockdowns

....In India, a video showing men in protective suits spraying “disinfecting sanitizer” on a group of people at a bus station in the city of Bareilly has sparked nationwide outrage.
Local administrator Nitish Kumar said the men were sanitizing storefronts on Tuesday, when police ordered them to spray the crowd of people. Kumar said no one was injured, but The Indian Express reported that the spray was a bleaching agent, and several people suffered injuries......

...... a 13-year-old boy in Kenya was shot by police who were enforcing a curfew. The Associated Press also reported that Kenyan police have fired tear gas at a crowd of commuters in Mombasa before the first night of the country’s curfew started.
In the Philippines, an official is facing charges after five people, including two minors, were put in dog cages for allegedly breaking curfew. Municipal police told local media that the official allegedly threatened to shoot the victims if they did not stay in the cage for 30 minutes.......

  Nigeria's police kill more people than the virus during lockdown

 Security forces enforcing the lockdown in parts of Nigeria have killed more people than coronavirus itself, a local rights group says.
Evidence of the killings comes from members of the public who rang their hotline or sent in videos, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) adds.
It says law enforcers have killed 18 people in Nigeria since lockdowns began on 30 March.
Coronavirus has killed 12 people, according to health ministry data.

New lockdown law bans swimming, fishing, hunting, surfing

There is now no doubt - fishing, swimming, surfing, hunting and tramping are banned under new lockdown laws.
Kiwis had previously been advised not to take part in these activities during the Covid-19 lockdown but the ban was made official in fresh laws released on the Government's Covid-19 website today.
People cannot leave home to hunt, tramp, swim, take part in other water-based activities, such as surfing and boating, or do anything that may put them in danger or require help from rescue services.....

Lockdown and what the public thinks
Two weeks into the UK’s coronavirus lockdown the debate continues on how the public should interpret government guidance and how the police should enforce new laws designed to respond to the public health emergency.

This follows considerable criticism of some police tactics including the use of a drone to film ramblers in the Peak District and the arrest and £660 fine of a woman at Newcastle railway station. Former Supreme Court Justice Lord Sumption said that excessive measures were in danger of turning Britain into a “police state” and numerous legal figures have argued police officers have acted beyond their powers. Transport Secretary Grant Schapps has agreegd that there had been ‘teething problems’ and that some forces had been over zealous in enforcing the rules. In response, Martin Hewitt, Chair of the National Police Chiefs Council, has set out a clear strategy for officers to “engage, explain, encourage” and move only to “enforce” as a last resort and new guidance has been issued to officers stressing the need for a “consistent” level of service and a “inquisitive, questioning mindset” when dealing with the public outside their homes.......

Leave alone millions dead by bombs,etc , here's a list of Refugee Deaths since Empire's wars on Muslim countries


If not for wars inflicted by the warmongering powers-that-be on the Muslims in the Middle East and Africa, there wouldn't be deaths by drowning, by missiles, by headchopping, by car bombs, by suicide bombs ... and incidentally there would not be the millions of Shariah-loving folks making their way to the EU, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and to the main warmonger, the United States of America.
What's not to like about the situation, eh?  STFU about refugees coming over and enjoy the coming shariah in every aspect of your lives. You didn't protest when your heroes were invading and bombing the Muslim lands, did you?  So, why complain now about the consequences?

More than 1,500 drown or go missing trying to cross the Mediterranean in 2011

UNHCR figures also show that a record 58,000 irregular migrants, asylum-seekers and refugees managed to make it to Europe by sea last year.
The UN refugee agency on Tuesday released figures showing that more than 1,500 irregular migrants or refugees drowned or went missing last year while attempting crossings of the Mediterranean Sea.

“This makes 2011 the deadliest year for this region since UNHCR started to record these statistics in 2006. The previous high was in 2007 when 630 people were reported dead or missing,” Senior Communications Officer Sybella Wilkes told journalists in Geneva, while adding that at least 18 people had drowned this year to date after setting off from Libya for Europe.

“Our teams in Greece, Italy, Libya and Malta, warn that the actual number of deaths at sea may be even higher,” Wilkes said. “Our estimates are based on interviews with people who reached Europe on boats, telephone calls and e-mails from relatives, as well as reports from Libya and Tunisia from survivors whose boats either sank or were in distress in the early stages of the journey,” she explained.

Wilkes also revealed that a record 58,000 irregular migrants, asylum-seekers and refugees managed to make it to European shores last year after setting off in boats from Asia or North Africa. The previous high was in 2008, when 54,000 people reached Greece, Italy and Malta.

During 2009 and 2010, border control measures sharply reduced the number of arrivals in Europe. The frequency of boat arrivals increased in early 2011 as the governments in Tunisia and Libya collapsed.

The majority of last year’s arrivals by sea landed in Italy (56,000, of whom 28,000 were Tunisian) while Malta and Greece received 1,574 and 1,030 respectively. The majority arrived in the first half of the year and most were migrants, not asylum-seekers or refugees. Only three smuggler’s boats arrived after mid-August.....

More than 50 asylum seekers trying to reach Italy died when their boat capsized, according to a man who has said he is the sole survivor.

Rocco Nuri, spokesman for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Tunisia, told the Guardian that the survivor, whom he named as Abbas, was spotted by Tunisian fishermen on Monday night clinging to a fuel tank and the remains of the boat. The 25-year-old Eritrean was taken to hospital in the town of Zarzis.
After interviewing him, Nuri quoted the man as saying that he had set off from Tripoli in Libya with 55 others – 33 Eritreans, 20 Somalis and two Sudanese. At some point in the journey – "He is very confused about timing," said Nuri – the rigid inflatable boat on which they were travelling developed a puncture on one side. Many of the passengers fled to the opposite side of the vessel and the wooden base of the boat gave way under their weight.....

The documented deaths of refugees up to that date is 17,306. But by this date now in 2016, I am willing to bet that that figure has gone well over 25K  because of the intensity of the wars in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and renewed hostilities in Libya.

Over 700 refugees drown in Mediterranean shipwrecks

More than 700 refugees have drowned in the Mediterranean Sea since Wednesday attempting to reach Europe from Libya. It is the single deadliest week for refugee drownings this year, according to the United Nations refugee agency, the UNHCR.

Three shipwrecks in just three days account for most of the week’s enormous death toll. Other agencies, including Médecins Sans Frontières (MSN), have estimated more than 900 deaths. “We will never know exact numbers,” MSN tweeted on Sunday, “Around 900 people may have died in the Central Mediterranean in the last week alone. Europe, this is unbearable.”....

Taliban mount assault on Kunar border district, Afghan officials say  
Taliban insurgents launched a massive attack against local security forces in eastern Kunar province and Afghan army units have been deployed to repulse the assault, officials said Tuesday.
Fighting broke out Sunday in Dangam district near the Pakistani border when fighters allied with the Pakistan-based Tehreek-e-Taliban attempted to infiltrate Afghanistan, Kunar province’s police chief, Abdul Habib Saidkhail, said.
“About 2,000 insurgents are involved in the fight,” Saidkhail said in a telephone interview. Since Sunday, hundreds of local Afghan volunteers have poured into Dangam to shore up the district’s defenses, he added.......

Islamist militias in the eastern Libyan town of Derna say they have formed a new coalition ahead of an assault by pro-government forces.
"Everybody saw what happened in Benghazi: disaster; institutions destroyed; houses demolished; mosques and universities burned by the criminal hands of Haftar's supporters," said the newly formed Mujahideen Shura Council.
Forces loyal to Khalifa Haftar and Abdullah al-Thani, Libya's internationally recognized prime minister, are fighting to wrest full control of Tripoli and the eastern city of Benghazi from Islamist militants.........

Yemen: 15 school children among 25 killed in Radaa car bombs
At least 25 people were killed when two car bombs exploded in the Yemeni city of Radaa, an al-Qaeda stronghold.
The first bomb exploded close to a school bus that was passing a checkpoint in the city, killing 15 school children, Reuters news agency reported.
A second car bomb exploded near to the house of an official rumoured to support the Houthi movement, killing a further 10 people.

Yemen kills 'al-Qaeda militants disguised as veiled women'
Several suspected al-Qaeda militants, disguised as fully veiled women, have reportedly been shot dead by Yemeni security forces near the Saudi border.
The militants were killed after one of them opened fire on a soldier who was checking their vehicle, officials say.
One report quoting a Yemeni official said three militants were killed - while another put the number at five.
The Yemeni offshoot of al-Qaeda has exploited recent instability to seize parts of the country's south and east.........

Somali al Shabaab militants behead two policewomen  
Al Shabaab militants have beheaded two Somali policewomen, prompting a policeman to kill five women linked to the group who were being held for a possible swap of captives, an official said on Wednesday.
The policeman killed the women - all wives of rebels from the Somali Islamist group - after discovering the dead bodies of his policewoman wife and her colleague, Tayeglow district commissioner Mohamed Abdallah told Reuters.
"We wanted to negotiate the release of the Somali policewomen but unfortunately they were beheaded," he said.
The policewomen's bodies were found in the morning after they were abducted from their houses by rebels overnight.....

Israeli-Canadian woman kidnapped in Syria, Israeli newspaper reports
An Israeli newspaper report says Islamist websites are claiming extremists have kidnapped an Israeli-Canadian woman who joined Kurdish fighters overseas.
The Jerusalem Post says reports of Gill Rosenberg's capture surfaced Sunday on websites "known to be close" to Islamic State extremists.
The newspaper says the websites give few details on the alleged kidnapping, only that it occurred after three suicide attacks on sites where Kurdish fighters were holed up....

Chinese 'terrorist attack' kills at least 15  
Eleven 'mobsters' are gunned down by police in Xinjiang after they allegedly launched a 'terrorist' assault on civilians with knives, explosives and axes
At least 15 people were killed and 14 others injured in the latest outbreak of bloodshed to hit China's violence-stricken northwest, according to state-controlled media.
Details of what official reports immediately dubbed a "terrorist attack" remained sketchy on Saturday afternoon, one day after the incident took place in Xinjiang's Yarkand county....

Gunmen in a car shot dead an Egyptian army brigadier  general and wounded two soldiers in eastern Cairo on Friday, the military said.
The attack came hours ahead of planned Islamist protests that have prompted the police and military to boost their presence in the capital and other cities.

An American, a Briton and a South African  were among several hostages Yemeni forces sought to free from al Qaeda this week, the defense ministry said on its website, describing a raid that a U.S. defense official said also involved U.S. special forces.

 In Monday night's assault on a cave in remote Hajr as-Say'ar district in the eastern province of Hadramout, Yemeni security forces rescued six Yemenis, a Saudi and an Ethiopian, and killed seven al Qaeda kidnappers, Yemeni officials have said.
Late on Wednesday the defense ministry's 26sept.net website quoted a soldier who had participated in the rescue as saying an American, a Briton and a South African held there had been moved elsewhere two days earlier.
Another foreign hostage, who may have been of Turkish nationality, was also apparently moved along with the three, the soldier was reported as saying. ......

Shiite rebels push on toward Aden: Yemen officials
emen's Shiite Ansarullah militia is advancing in Taez province towards the main southern city of Aden as it seeks to expand its influence after taking the capital, officials said Friday.
Overnight, a 16-vehicle convoy of militiamen entered an eastern suburb of Taez, the country's third city, and deployed near its airport and a local radio station, the local officials said.

 Ansarullah militiamen, also called Houthis, have captured many communities in western and central Yemen since taking Sanaa on September 21.
However, they had not entered Taez, a city of around half a million people some 250 kilometers southwest of Sanaa, under an accord struck with local authorities.
"This agreement no longer stands because the local authorities have not honoured their commitment to arrest 14 extremists in Taez province," a source close to Ansarullah told AFP.......

Twin bombings kill 45 in Nigeria    with one involving a female suicide bomber
Maiduguri, Nigeria: More than 45 people died Tuesday in twin bomb blasts, including one by a female suicide bomber, at a packed market in the Nigerian city of Maiduguri.
The explosions in the Borno state capital targeted the same Monday Market area where at least 15 people died on July 1 in a blast blamed on the Boko Haram militant group.
Tuesday’s attack came after the militants seized control of another town in Nigeria’s restive northeast.....

Jammu and Kashmir gunfight ends, militant killed  
The gunfight between the Army and suspected militants near the border with Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir’s Arnia area, which had started Thursday morning, ended at around 9.30 am on Friday with the killing of the lone surviving gunman. “The firing has stopped and searches are underway,” an Army official said over the phone from Ranbir Singh Pura, the nearest town.
Army sources said that a gunship helicopter and a couple of tanks were used to “neutralise the holed-up militant as an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) named Tohi Viman maintained surveillance over the abandoned Army bunker in which militants had taken positions”. An earlier report has said that the Army officials also used mortar guns to destroy the abandoned Army bunker in Pind Khote village which is located about three kilometres from the border with Pakistan and where the lone surviving militant was hiding.
An official said 12 people five civilians, three soldiers and four militants were killed in the 25-hour-long gun-battle. The fighting had started at 8.15 am on Thursday, a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state where elections to the 87-member state Assembly are being held.
The Army says the heavily-armed militant had sneaked in J&K from Pakistan, most probably during the intervening night of November 26 and 27, to carry out “fidayeen” attacks aimed at disrupting the election process but were confronted by Army troops, leading to the encounter. An Army official said that he suspected the slain militants belonged to the Lashkar-e-Tayyaba.....

About 400 killed in past six weeks  of fighting in Libya's Benghazi: medics
About 400 people have been killed in six weeks of heavy fighting between Libyan pro-government forces and Islamist groups in Libya's second-largest city Benghazi, medical staff said on Saturday.
Backed by forces led by a former general, the newly formed government army launched in mid-October an offensive against Islamists in Benghazi, expelling them from the airport area and from several camps the army had lost during the summer........

 Turkey, the nation that is primed to be a member of  EU in near future, will also be the nation that will accelerate the caliphatization of the EU.

Kenya bus killings  claimed by Somali group al-Shabab
Gunmen from the Somali militant group al-Shabab say they have attacked a bus in northern Kenya, killing 28 people.
The bus was travelling to the capital, Nairobi, when it was stopped in Mandera county, not far from the Somali border.
Gunmen separated out non-Muslims by asking passengers to read from the Koran, officials and witnesses said. Those who failed were then shot in the head.
Al-Shabab has carried out a series of attacks in Kenya since 2011.

Syrian government air raids on the city of Raqqa, which the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) has proclaimed as its capital, have killed 135 people, activists have said.
Scores more people were reported to have been injured in the air strikes on Tuesday, which targeted a number of residential districts in the northern city.

 The majority of the dead and injured are believed to be civilians, including women and children.
Local activists reported on Facebook that the Raqqa Red Crescent had transferred scores of bodies to the national hospital........

'Boko Haram' kills 48 Nigerian fishermen near Chad  
Islamist militants from Nigeria's Boko Haram have reportedly killed 48 people in an attack on fish sellers near the border with Chad.
A fish traders' group said some victims had their throats slit whilst others were tied up and drowned in Lake Chad.
The attack took place on Thursday, but the news took several days to come to light because Boko Haram has destroyed mobile phone masts in the area.
It was the second major attack in two days by Boko Haram......

Kabul Suicide Attack on UK  Embassy Vehicle Kills Five
A suicide attack on a UK embassy vehicle in Kabul killed at least five people, including one British citizen, and wounded more than 30 others on Thursday, the UK Foreign Office said.

 An assailant detonated what was initially reported to be a motorbike, but now believed to be a car, filled with explosives by the British vehicle in the Afghan capital. The subsequent blast destroyed at least four other vehicles and was heard across the city, eye witnesses told Sky News.

Five were killed in the incident and as many as 34 injured, according to the Afghan Health Ministry. A British Foreign Office spokesman told VICE News that the dead included one British national who was a civilian security team member and an Afghan national working for the embassy. A second security team member was injured.....

Two militants were killed by police inside the guesthouse on Thursday and one Nepalese guard was wounded in the fighting, Kabul police spokesman Hashmat Stanakzai told AFP.

 Wazir Akbar Khan district is home to several international contractor firms, development agencies and embassies, but officials did not confirm which foreign guesthouse was attacked.
After an initial suicide blast, sporadic gunfire and grenade blasts erupted for at least 45 minutes as security forces fought to clear the building.........

A bomb blast has hit a bus station in northeastern Nigeria killing at least 40 people, according to witnesses and security personnel.

 At least five soldiers were among the victims of Thursday's attack in a village just outside of Mubi, the second largest city in Adamawa state.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack but the area has been repeatedly targeted by the rebel group Boko Haram.

 Al Jazeera's Rawya Rageh, reporting from Yola, said Mubi was a key town for Boko Haram and was one of the largest areas captured by the group after it launched its offensive in Adamawa State.....

TV channel claims abducted Indians killed by ISIS in June
Concerns about the safety of 39 Indians kidnapped in Iraq in June heightened on Thursday after a news channel claimed that only one of them was still alive.

 The channel sourced its story to two Bangladeshis who claimed to have spoken to the only survivor Indian, Harjeet. Government sources were quick to dismiss the claims saying their current information did not corroborate the claim.
The channel said that 39 out of 40 Indian workers who went missing in Iraq in June may have been killed by Islamic State militants. The claim was based on interview of two Bangladeshi workers whom the channel spoke to in Kurdistan's capital Erbil.........

The United States continues to escalate  its aerial campaign against ISIL terrorists in Iraq and Syria, shifting more attack and surveillance aircraft from Afghanistan to a base in Kuwait
Military officials say that a dozen A-10 ground-attack planes have been moved from Afghanistan to Kuwait to support Iraqi ground troops battling the ISIL militants, the New York Times reports.
Half a dozen missile-firing Reaper drones are also expected to be redeployed from Afghanistan to be used in the war against ISIL.
However, as the US steps up the air campaign against the ISIL terrorist organization, military planners are finding it increasingly more difficult to pick up targets for the American air power.
“When we target a nation-state, we’ve typically been looking at their capability for decades, and have extensive target sets,” said Maj. Sonny Alberdeston, the targeting chief at an Air Force base in South Carolina, where military planners analyze and select targets that US and coalition warplanes strike in Iraq and Syria.
“But these guys are moving around. They can be in one place, and then a week later, they’re gone,” Alberdeston told the Times.......

The Kenyan military   has killed more than 100 al-Shabab militants linked to a deadly attack on a bus, Kenya's deputy president says.
William Ruto said the armed forces had carried out two operations in Somalia, destroying equipment and a camp from which the bus attack was planned.
However, al-Shabab refuted this, and said that its fighters were safe.
In Saturday's attack, gunmen pulled non-Muslims passengers from a bus in northern Kenya, killing 28 of them......

The Islamic State group   launched an attack Saturday on the Syrian border town of Kobani from Turkey, a Kurdish official and activists said, although Turkey denied that the fighters had used its territory for the raid.

 The assault began when a suicide bomber driving an armored vehicle detonated his explosives on the border crossing between Kobani and Turkey, said the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and Nawaf Khalil, a spokesman for Syria’s powerful Kurdish Democratic Union Party....

Kenyans testify to atrocities committed by the British


Between 1952 and 1960, the kind of brutality and sick behaviour inflicted on Kenyans by the British soldiers is finally coming to light.  The affected have filed a class action suit.

 No quick death from the depraved British forces on their enemies, torture and degradation of the non-white victims is more their thing in the lands they occupied and looted.

 Kenya's Mau Mau emergency is still raging more than 50 years since hostilities ceased. The full breadth of the misdeeds inflicted on countless Kenyan men and women suspected of subversive activities against the white settlers and colonial forces still remains the subject of contentious struggle. Thousands of elderly Kenyans, who claim mistreatment, rape and torture by British colonial forces during the Mau Mau uprising, have launched a £200m damages claim against the UK Government.

 The High Court action represents the final chance for justice for some 40,000 Kenyans, many of whom are in their seventies and eighties, and will dwarf a case settled last year by 5,000 victims of torture under British rule for £19.9m.........

 .......The testimonies, made by claimants who will not be test cases in the proceedings, include:

 * A woman, now 76, who details how, as a 14-year-old girl she and her family were brutalised during a raid by colonial police before two white soldiers forced her to have sex with her own father while they looked on.

 * A man, now aged 79, who describes how he was placed above a metal drum of burning charcoal, known as the "hat of death", and beaten until he defecated over himself, before then being beaten unconscious with a hammer.

 * Another man, now 83, who suffered regular torture including a punishment which involved being made to dig a hole with his index finger by constantly turning his crouched body in a circle, causing dizziness punished by further beatings..........

Up to 80 people killed by suspected Ugandan rebels in Congo: group
Suspected Ugandan ADF-NALU rebels have killed between 50 and 80 people in attacks near the eastern Congolese town of Beni, slitting the throats of many of their victims, local sources and witnesses said on Friday.
In a statement, Civil Society of North Kivu, the province where Beni is situated, said the killings had occurred on Thursday evening about 10 km (6 miles) east of Beni airport, where U.N. peacekeepers, known as MONUSCO, are based.
"We already saw 70 bodies. The authorities are searching for other bodies," said a priest who saw the massacre site.
The attackers were dressed in Congolese army fatigues and pretended to be soldiers before the killings and they slit many of their victims' throats, said the priest, who declined to be named.....

AQAP rejects Islamic State's 'caliphate,' blasts group for sowing dissent among jihadists
Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), an official branch of al Qaeda, has released a video rejecting the Islamic State's announced caliphate and chastising the group for sowing discord among jihadists.

 The newly-released video stars Harith bin Ghazi al Nadhari, a senior AQAP sharia official, who responds directly to a Nov. 13 speech made by Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, the head of the Islamic State. The video is titled, "A Statement about What was Contained in the Speech of Sheikh Abu Bakr al Baghdadi 'Even If the Disbelievers Despise Such'," and was first translated by the SITE Intelligence Group.

 In addition to rebuking Baghdadi and the Islamic State, Nadhari also renews AQAP's bayat (oath of allegiance) to al Qaeda emir Ayman al Zawahiri, and affirms Zawahiri's oath to Taliban chieftain Mullah Omar. Nadhari says "it is known" that al Qaeda "has had a pledge of allegiance to Mullah Omar...for nearly twenty years."..........

The fury sparked by the disappearance of more thant 40 students in Iquala will not die. But where it will lead remains far from clear.

 Thursday was an annual holiday in Mexico, the anniversary of the start of the Mexican Revolution against the dictator Porfirio Díaz in 1911. The giant faces of yesteryear’s heroes, Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata, were part of a lighted holiday display that gazed down on the Zócalo, the main plaza in downtown Mexico City. But the usual military parade and reenactment of scenes from the revolution were canceled amid talk that a new revolution is brewing.

Public indignation continues to run high after the murders on September 26 of three students from a rural teachers’ college in southern Mexico and the abduction of forty-three of their classmates by police accused of working in league with a drug cartel. On Wednesday, at a rally in the nearby city of Cuernavaca, parents of the missing students declared that the anniversary of the Mexican Revolution was “the day that we will make our revolution if that is the way the President Enrique Peña Nieto wants it; we are going to march because we want our children found.”.......

Kenya police find explosives in mosque raidsl 
More than 150 suspected of ties to al-Qaeda-affiliated-al-Shabab arrested as arms and bombs seized in Mombasa mosques.
Kenyan police have found explosives after a series of raids on three mosques this week in Mombasa and arrested more than 150 people suspected of being supporters of al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Shabab.
Richard Ngatia, a local police chief, said investigators on Wednesday found a grenade and three machetes at Mombasa's Mina mosque, while two 10-litre petrol bombs and a bomb detonator were uncovered at Swafaa mosque.
Police raided two mosques on Monday, seizing weapons and anti-government literature that they said was evidence of militant activity.
Police had arrested 376 people during the raids, which started on Sunday, but 91 were subsequently released for lack of evidence. Prosecutors said 158 would be charged with being members of al-Shabaab........

Ukraine accused Russia of sending soldiers and weapons to help separatist rebels in eastern Ukraine launch a new offensive in a conflict that has killed more than 4,000 people. Russia warned Kiev that any resumption of hostilities against the separatists would be catastrophic for Ukraine.........

'A Rain of Fire': Ukrainian Forces Used  Little-Known Soviet-Era Incendiary Weapons to Attack Iloviask
Iloviask was once a sleepy small town in eastern Ukraine, but by mid August this year war was knocking at the door as fierce fights between pro-Russia rebels and Ukrainian forces raged through surrounding villages and countryside. The distant explosions which illuminated the night sky on August 14, however, looked nothing like the grad rocket and mortar fire that the locals had come to recognize.

 At first, the town's residents thought the Ukrainians were just celebrating a victory. "It seemed like they were setting off fireworks after retaking a nearby village from the militia," 52-year-old Elena Sychova, the caretaker at school 14, told VICE News. "But then we realized it wasn't stopping. It was getting closer and closer to us. It was like a rain of fire."
A subsequent investigation by VICE News, including an independent expert analysis of retrieved rocket remnants by Armament Research Services (ARES), showed that the "fireworks" were in fact thousands of incendiary elements cascading out of a Soviet-era 9M22S rocket in mid-flight......

Troops clash with Muslim militants in Philippines,15 dead
 Philippine troops clashed on Friday with Islamist militants on a remote southern island and 14 people were killed in the first major encounter since the army launched an offensive almost a month ago, military officials said.
Militants from the Abu Sayyaf group had been avoiding contact with government forces on the island of Jolo since the release of the two German captives last month after ransom was reportedly paid.
Army rangers killed nine rebels in a four-hour gun battle after the soldiers raided a camp where 300 of the al Qaeda-linked militant were based, said army spokesman Captain Rowena Muyuela. 
He said five soldiers were killed and 26 were wounded......

Boko Haram militants 'seize Nigerian town of Chibok'
Boko Haram militants have seized the north-eastern Nigerian town of Chibok, from where they kidnapped more than 200 schoolgirls in April.

Militants attacked and took control of the town, in Borno state, on Thursday evening, residents who escaped told the BBC.
Boko Haram has repeatedly targeted villages around Chibok over recent months.
The group says it is fighting to create an Islamic state in Nigeria........

The Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants fighting in Iraq and Syria claimed in a video posted online on Sunday that they beheaded several Syrian hostages and an American.

 The video came two days after a United Nations panel investigating war crimes in Syria said the extremist group has been receiving “external support” in the past four years.
In a highly choreographed sequence earlier in the video, jihadists marched at least 18 hostages, said to be pilots and officers from the Syrian Arab Army, past a wooden box of long black military knives, each taking one as they passed, then forced them to kneel in a line and simultaneously decapitated them.

 In the video, which is the latest in a series of mass executions and other atrocities carried out by ISIS, the extremist group announced the beheading of Peter Kassig and issued warnings to the US President Barack Obama, Britain and others including Shia Muslims.
"To Obama, the dog of Rome, today we are slaughtering the soldiers of [Syrian president] Bashar and tomorrow we will be slaughtering your soldiers. And with Allah's permission, we will break this final and last crusade, and the Islamic State will begin to slaughter your people on your streets," a masked militant said......

Romania will increase its troops in Afghanistan    with maxim 450 soldiers starting next year, said President Traian Basescu after signing a memorandum about it. The Romanian troops will unfold protection missions in the Kandahar airport’s neighbourhood.

 “At present, Romania has 200 troops deployed for the Resolute Support mission who will train Afghan forces. By today’s memorandum we also assume the mission of protecting forces at the Kandahar Airport and the area around it, with 420 troops. Other 20 will offer logistic support for the new mission that will start on March 2015,” Basescu announced, reports local Digi24.

In Mali's desert French troops hunt al Qaeda well by well  
If the French army and its allies are to keep al Qaeda at bay in the desert of northern Mali they must stop them seizing the biggest prizes in the sea of white sand - the wells.
So this month a column of soldiers from France, Burkina Faso and Mali, in armored vehicles and pick-up trucks, churned toward a village north of Timbuktu where herders water camels and goats.
They were looking for signs of infiltration by militants who need water as much as the locals do and aim to convert villages to their ideology.
France uses drones, jets and helicopters in its Operation Barkhane mission to eliminate jihadist sanctuaries across five Sahel countries, but winning local support is key and that means face-to-face contact, soldiers said........

Burkinabe army sets leadership   deadline for opposition
Burkina Faso's military ruler has told activist groups they have until Sunday afternoon to provide a list of candidates for interim national leader.
Lt Col Isaac Zida agreed a transition plan with civilian political groups on Thursday, but no leader was named.
The groups have agreed to submit a list of candidates to a 23-member council, which will then select a single leader.
Col Zida took over from long-time leader Blaise Compaore, who was ousted after mass street protests in October.
But then protests erupted against army rule after Col Zida suspended the constitution and cracked down on dissent.
International bodies threatened sanctions unless civilian rule was restored.
A deal was reached on Thursday to install an interim legislative chamber and a transitional leader until elections are organised next year........

Derna is just hours from Tobruk, where what's left of the central government is based.
Militants loyal to the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) are now in control of a Libyan city of near the Egyptian border, according to a new report.
CNN, citing unnamed Libyan sources, reports that militants control Derna, a city only a few hours from Tobruk, where the remnants of Libya’s central government fled to after being forced out of the capital this summer. Approximately 300 of the 800-strong force in control of Derna are reportedly hard-line Libyan jihadists who fought with ISIS in Iraq an Syria.

 The report is the latest sign of ISIS looking to expand its footprint across the Middle East despite U.S.-led air strikes against it in Iraq and Syria. Libya has been in turmoil since the fall of former strongman Muammar Gaddafi’s regime in 2011.......

Five Israelis were killed in a frenzied assault by two Palestinians who targeted worshippers at a Jerusalem synagogue, the latest in a series of deadly attacks that many fear is pushing the city to the edge of a dangerous escalation in violence.

 “Our future in the world is dependent on God,” said one man outside the building, where it is reported that a security guard was posted.
“We came to this place to express our stance against this criminal act, which involved an assault against the sanctity of the house of God, and against unarmed worshippers,” said Sheik Samir Assi, Imam of Al-Jazzar mosque.
But hatred is historic and runs deep. A Jewish ultra-Orthodox woman shouted from her window at the Imam, “You don’t have faith! Rubbish, you don’t have faith!”
For the first time in nine years a Palestinian’s home was demolished on Wednesday, the resumption of a punitive tactic which sparked controversy in the past.
Abdel-Rahman Shaloudi had lived in the house in East Jerusalem. He was shot by security forces and subsequently died after he rammed his car into a train stop in the city...........
